We Must Stand Strong
©2010 James Dacey, Jr. SFO
Hello Everyone,
That's a powerful title that packs a hard punch on so many topics. Today's gospel is Luke 11:15-26 (Jesus and Beelzebul / Return of the Unclean Spirit). Jesus said something very powerful in today's gospel, let us look at verse 23, "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters." Wow. Are we against Him? Do we not gather with Him? Isn't it Jesus who has come to save us? It was He who laid down His life, so that our eternal life might be spent with Him. When we are in danger or we allow evil into our homes, what do we do? Who do we run to, or turn to? Just like I spoke of yesterday, today seems to be circling around a very similar thought. Let us not be engulfed by the tragedy of this world's sin and hatred towards God. Rather let us consider focusing more on our own preparation, so that upon His return we are ready for Him. We can't live a perfect life, I believe that's so unrealistic and phony. If we live a typical average life that focusing on our Lord, His love, His mercy and His Forgiveness and kindness; we can weather the storms of life rather well. But I must warn you, the closer you get to Jesus, the harder and more fierce satan will attack you and your loved ones.
I do believe I have been under attack for many years now. And honestly I fully embrace the destruction satan surrounds me and my family with, and I honestly; most of you either know me personally or through all these writings. I accept this cross and this attack, I see it as a victory. Yes I said a victory in His name. If I have become a target for the evil one, it must mean I am doing something right. I will admit, I am not sure if that is all one hundred percent true, but that is what it feels like. And so what shall I do? Continue forging forward spreading God's love and sharing His Son and Our dearest Blessed Mother with everyone. I do not fear satan, he is only an annoying voice that does not scare or affect me. I respect his ability to destroy, I aware of his evil, but know that if I lost everything and ended up in prison or in a hospital for the rest of my life, I would still rejoice. I have Jesus on my side and I refuse to allow the evil one, or any of his soldiers to take me off track. This is indeed a spiritual war, satan is the evil one, and Jesus shields me with His blood and love. I do not hate the enemy, I love them and I pray for them.
Are you under attack? Do you feel like your life has gotten more difficult since you have been so in love with Jesus and only desire to follow Him? Sin and evil are destructive forces that don't care about you. It's only objective is to destroy you, and it's usually from within that sin destroys. Do not trust satan or anyone that sounds like him, promising you happiness and joy, lies I tell you, lies. We must stand strong alone and together. Our lives are very simple and our purpose is eternal. We must not allow anything or any force to direct us into the fires of hell. Prayer is the best form of defense we can use, 24/7/365. Satan fears even the sound of our Lord's name "Jesus". Satan fears the sound and chants of adoring followers of our Lord praying the Rosary. Keep prayer as your number weapon. For in His name we shall defeat the enemy. And we will break the enemy and help direct the enemy to their knees before our Lord.
STAND STRONG
You are not alone in this war
For satan don't stand a chance,
Jesus died for our every sin
Let's praise His name and dance.
To keep the evil one at bay
We must pray with everything inside,
Be bold, be strong, don't back down
Don't ever run away and hide.
For we are children of a God
A God who loves us so,
He sent His Son to defeat evil
Bloods been shed and satan knows.
So in your life embrace our Lord
Stamp His name across your chest,
Let the evil one know where you belong
And no matter what don't settle for less.
If given the opportunity, satan will sift you like wheat. he has done this before, ""Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat." Jesus said this in Luke 22:31. We must hold strong. I can't explain it the way I feel it, but I will spend my life trying. Create inside you a temple, one that has our Lord housed inside it. With Him inside you, He shall keep your spirit and life and your thoughts and actions clean. You will still be challenged and you will still fall, but do not give in and do not give up my brothers and sisters. Jesus will be your foundation and strength, no matter what.
"Jesus, I trust in You."

Who Is Knocking At The Door?

Hello Everyone,
The title almost makes you feel like singing, don't it? "Someones knocking at the door. Some body's ringing the bell. Someones knocking at the door. Some body's ringing the bell. Do me a favor, open the door and let 'em in." Paul McCartney & Wings. Remember? Some do, and some of y'all have no clue, I understand. LOL. Today's gospel can be found in Luke 11:5-13 (Further Teachings on Prayer / The Answer to Prayer). The first thing I think of when I read today's gospel is, that God don't owe me anything, and I certainly don't deserve anything from Him. It is Augustine of Hippo who reminds us that "God, who does not sleep and who awakens us from sleep that we may ask, gives much more graciously." This gospel speaks about a friend whose friend, in the middle of the night, asks him for bread. Jesus to will arrive when we least expect Him to. Will need to be ready for Him? Do we even have the slightest clue as to how to be prepared for His arrival? Today's gospel seems to be all about "readiness, hospitality, generosity". What stands between all that and us? This seems to lead my thinking that our sins will be the road block when Jesus comes knocking on our door. How do we handle and manage the sinful part of our lives? That's where the rubber meets the road here. Let's just cut to the chase. We are all guilty of a sinful life; meaning of cause, that we are all sinners. Some of us are horribly engulfed into our sins, while most of us try our best to avoid sins, especially the serious ones.
How do we ready ourselves for His arrival? Better yet, how do we prepare for an hour we don't know, on a day not yet here, demanding something many may not want to surrender? Some of us maybe so entrenched in our own sinful life of whatever, where leaving (dying) might really mess up our earthly plans. Wording it that way, makes me think The Parable of The Rich Fool, Luke 12:13-21. It was verse 20 that puts it all into perspective, "But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?" We really need to focus on always being ready for Jesus. At all times. If before I finishing typing and Jesus comes, will I ready? I try everyday to be alert to what I say, what I do, what I think, what I look at. I am so far from being an angel or saint; I am a pitiful sinner. I beg Jesus for His mercy, His love and His forgiveness every single day. But with all that said, I do stay alert and I try my best not to take my eye off the Lord at all. That is why I always suggest that all of us give Jesus 24/7/365, and then fit everything else in. That way you will be consumed by Him and it is He who will always be first in your thoughts, your plans and your ideas.
Sin is a horrible blockade, all satan ever wants us to do, is simply take our eyes off Jesus. That alone is a huge accomplishment for him. Just distract us enough to engulf us into something else, anything else, anything and everything but Jesus. That is my main reason why I am engulfed into Jesus in my life. Some shake their heads and say I am a fool, wasting my life on religion, others have told me to get a life. Satan has sent many of his soldiers out after me. I know who they are, I know the words they speak. No, I don't who they are, but after twenty seven (27) years of a life consumed by Jesus and the Rosary. Believe you-me, I know when someone is trying to separate me from my love of my Lord. It's happened far too many times through all these years. And no matter what, I stay straight to the course. I really don't care what anyone thinks or says about my habits of 24/7/365 Jesus. We are all responsible for ourselves and we are responsible to help as many others as possible to make it to Heaven. No one on this planet will take that from me. I would rather die because of my faith, then surrender to the decay and lies of this world.
Maybe I am a little radical in my faith, and then maybe I'm not. I don't care how it gets interpreted, I really don't. I encourage everyone to find the path to Jesus, and get on it, and NEVER ever leave it, forge forward towards Him. It will take a lifetime, but you will never regret being on that path. Yes many will try to get you off the path, many will throw rocks at you when you go by. Oh so many will curse you and call you names. Pray for them, love them, forgive them and then ask them to join you. Do not let anything distract you. I mean that, it's obvious we all live completely different lives in all sorts of circumstances, but to each is his/her own way. Pray my brothers and sister, and keep praying. Become a prayer warrior like me. Never be distracted. Prayer is a most precious gift we have been given. We have a direct line of communications to God the Father Almighty, and His Son Jesus and our Blessed Precious Mother, and the saints... It is so exciting isn't it.

When We Pray We Say
©2010 James Dacey, Jr. SFO
Hello Everyone,
Today's gospel is The Lord's Prayer, how simply wonderful it is to reflect on one of the greatest prayers we can ever pray. Do you realize that this is one of the most spoken prayers in the entire world? Today we are reflecting on Luke 11:1-4 (The Lord's Prayer). This is an exciting prayer, one that you should and could pray all day silently, while praising Him in your heart. This prayer came directly from Jesus Himself, indeed making this prayer unique and extremely special to pray in our daily prayer life. In the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Section 2, Article 1, it speaks about "The Lord's Prayer, The Our Father" Let's look at these excerpts in brief reflecting on the prayer.
2797 Simple and faithful trust, humble and joyous assurance are the proper dispositions for one who prays the Our Father.
2798 We can invoke God as "Father" because the Son of God made man has revealed him to us. In this Son, through Baptism, we are incorporated and adopted as sons of God.
2799 The Lord's Prayer brings us into communion with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. At the same time it reveals us to ourselves.
2800 Praying to our Father should develop in us the will to become like him and foster in us a humble and trusting heart.
2801 When we say "Our" Father, we are invoking the new covenant in Jesus Christ, communion with the Holy Trinity, and the divine love which spreads through the Church to encompass the world.
2802 "Who art in heaven" does not refer to a place but to God's majesty and his presence in the hearts of the just. Heaven, the Father's house, is the true homeland toward which we are heading and to which, already, we belong.
Are we filled with Joy and confidence when we pray The Our Father? Jesus wants us to address His Father as Our Father, that is so exciting. By allowing us to be sons and daughters before God, we can have the confidence and boldness we need to live our lives in complete obedience to Him. And you know, did you ever really think about the words to the Lord's Prayer? In short: Jesus is coming again; what He wants will be done in all places; He forgives us as we forgive others; please don't allow us to be tempted, and please keep us away from evil. Well you know what's being said. But with that being said, do we actually mean this prayer as we pray it? Especially the part about forgiving others? Forgiveness is huge part of our faith. Our lives will never be the same since Jesus died for us and bought us for a price. "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2. Thy will be done.. I love that.
I am really into quotes, I find that they all seem to have just a speck of wisdom in them; enough to keep my mind, heart and spirit alive and urn with desire for my Lord. So here are a few I thought I'd share on the day we are speaking of The Lord's Prayer.
"It is better to say one Our Father fervently and devoutly than a thousand with no devotion and full of distraction." St. Edmund
"When we pray to God we must be seeking nothing - nothing." Saint Francis of Assisi
"Give us this day our daily bread" is probably the most perfectly constructed and useful sentence ever set down in the English language." P.J. Wingate
"The value of consistent prayer is not that He will hear us, but that we will hear Him." William McGill
"Prayer may not change things for you, but it for sure changes you for things." Samuel M. Shoemaker
"When at night you cannot sleep, talk to the Shepherd and stop counting sheep." Author Unknown
"Prayer gives a man the opportunity of getting to know a gentleman he hardly ever meets. I do not mean his maker, but himself."
William Inge
"We must move from asking God to take care of the things that are breaking our hearts, to praying about the things that are breaking His heart." Margaret Gibb
"Before we can pray, "Lord, Thy Kingdom come," we must be willing to pray, "My Kingdom go."" Alan Redpath
"There are more tears shed over answered prayers than over unanswered prayers." Teresa of Avila
"In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart." John Bunyan
"There is nothing that makes us love a man so much as praying for him." William Law
"Rich is the person who has a praying friend." Janice Hughes
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen

The Good Portion Was Chosen
©2010 James Dacey, Jr. SFO
Hello Everyone,
Absolute, complete, undisturbed, fully focused peace of Christ, now that's what we are talking about. Does that sound like your home? or your own personal private prayer life? It does to me. At least absolutely in the personal private prayer life department. The house I admit has a floating, changing, unknown imbalance of adults, kids, cats, jobs, doctors and oh everything else you can possibly imagine. lol. Our life no doubt is consumed by needless concerns and preoccupations that sometimes take away all our time, energy and attention that we want to give to our Lord. Today let us reflect on Luke 10:38-42 (Martha and Mary). Today's scripture is all about two sister serving our Lord in two different ways. Each with the best of intentions, but only one got the good portion. How can we make sure, that to the best of our ability we live each day like Mary chose, to be at Jesus' feet. Many of you might think I am like Mary all the time. Well to the best of my ability that is very true everyday; but even I get consumed in the "work of worship" rather than the "love and desire of actual worship". But I am very aware of the difference and would rather spend time on my knees at His feet, than be consumed by anything else that takes me from Him. Simply do what I do, give Jesus all 24 hours, then fit everything else around that.
We must be seeking Jesus every single day very attentively. This is why I believe living the simplest life, makes for a wonderfully overflowing one that is consumed by Jesus. To me there is no point in being consumed by anything else, spiritually speaking, nothing else matters. Yes I enjoy many things, places and hobbies and sports; but if they have nothing to do with Jesus, my interest level is lower. Our lives need to be consumed by the two most important things that we talked about yesterday, Jesus and our neighbor. It's all in the relationships, that help us journey closer to our Lord. Not only does the fellowship create a certain energy and excitement; but it also develops an atmosphere where are all looking out for one another. This journey wasn't ever meant to be traveled alone. We have each other, to help each other, to go to our Lord together. Isn't so wonderful how so many of us cling to one another, just because we have that common thread of Jesus in our lives. We just know, that we know. You know what I am saying. Our spirits are attracted to one another, and we desire each others fellowship, shared faith and common ground sensible chatter. lol. I love it. What do we talk about? What thrills us? What brings us Joy? Jesus, Jesus and Jesus.
Encouragement comes to us from God, and from each other. We can't be brothers and sisters in the Lord if we take this journey alone. Alone keeps you away from others, allowing other activities to consume us. I really know that so many of you live the life I publicly share. Isn't that just wonderful how because our lives are open, free and as the world would put it, "boring". We live a life of so much complete and overwhelming Joy, that we wouldn't have it any other way. The perfect life to me? Did someone just ask me that. What would I consider the perfect life? Well to sum it, it would be simply said, "totally consumed by Jesus". That is the perfect life. "To me staring out every single day at morning Mass, followed by some light hearted fellowship, then going back home to pray my rosary and study God's word for as many hours as I possibly can, being literally consumed by His love. Followed by continued fellowship with family and friends; while helping others along the way, and doing all I can to draw others to our Lord." Wow, time to take a breather. LOL. This is possible, I have lived this in the past.
Just do it, that's what I say. But some ask, how? Think of your life like this: Let's say you find out that you have a terminal illness (God forbid). This is just a story, a parable of sorts in its design. Well let's say the doctors told you, you can't play sports anymore or doing any risky physical activity, and you need to get your rest and you must take certain medicine every single day. And if you don't, you run the risk of dying a lot sooner and more painfully then you ever thought. Now let's put that in context with our Lord and living our life for Him. Jesus warns us about the pleasures of this world. He told us how our hearts, mind, soul and strength must be consumed with Him. And He told us in today's gospel that Mary chose the good portion. The time we have here is very short, not only in comparison to the eternity of our future; but even more in the reality that the average person only lives about 80 years. Let us be wise in how we chose to spend our time, energy and effort. I leave you with this, "Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs." Jonah 2:8. Amen. Like I end every blog, let us pray everyday, "Jesus, I trust in You."

Hello Everyone,
Exciting, exciting, exciting, that about sums up today's gospel. In today's gospel the question is asked for all of us to read, "saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" that's verse 25, followed by Jesus' questions about what's in the law, and Jesus asked the lawyer "What is written in the law? How do you read?" verse 26. Then in verse 27, the statement of all statements, the one verse that sums up so much about what our faith must truly be, "And he (the lawyer) answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself." And Jesus said, "You have answered right; do this, and you will live." Talk about a very exciting special day in our faith, this is the foundation to our "everyday" with Jesus. I almost forgot to mention, today's gospel is Luke 10:26-37 (Greatest Commandment / Parable of The Good Samaritan). I came out of the gate a little bit to fast and a whole lot to excited. But all is good. lol.
Another very insightful, very enlightening verse happened at the end of the Parable of The Good Samaritan. Where in the last exchange of conversation occurred, "He said, "The one who showed mercy on him." And Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise." We are to show mercy to others, always. So today we will reflect upon what we shall do, and how we are to be towards others. The complete summary of our faith. For starters let's look at the parable. Parables always tell such wonderful stories that help us deepen our faith. It appears that there was purpose in today's parable. This conversation Jesus had with the lawyer was not only interesting; but this lawyer, a man who was very familiar with Mosaic Law, was being tested by Jesus. He actually did very well, and Jesus acknowledged his correct responses. But this parable added a Samaritan into the mix. Yes a Priest and a Levite knew the law like the lawyer; but a Samaritan, why a Samaritan, he was just a mix of Jew and Gentile. But it was through the Samaritan's mercy and love for this man who was beaten up; that Jesus wanted to share how a person as neighbor less as Samaritan, compared to the Priest and Levite, could care so much.
First of all, it is my humble, yet very bold opinion that all politics should be put aside, this man left for dead on the side of the road should have been helped immediately. I know there was a chance at getting mugged yourself in the process if helping another, but sometimes you just have to run the risk at putting your life on the line, to be there for someone else. I don't believe that to be to bold and unachievable. We really must live in a such a way that we'd be willing to die to help or save another, whether we know them or not. Case and point: Chrissy's oldest brother Albert, was in NYC when he came upon a women being attacked. Albert had a black-belt in karate, and he was a good man, a husband and a dad. He knew what the right thing to do was, and so he did it. He came to the woman's defense and rescued and saved her from being hurt, raped or murdered. But he paid a price for his love and mercy for another. The attacker turned the gun on Albert and killed him. Very very sad story. But Chrissy's brother's unselfish, caring way saved the woman. He is a hero. I am sure God has rewarded his bold, selfless act of love and kindness.
We must be willing to embrace the cross of Jesus. But the cross we will bear, won't look like the one Jesus died upon. Ours might be cancer, or leukemia, or the loss of a loved one, or a special needs child that needs our attention 24/7. We all have our own crosses, this isn't a free ride to Heaven. And true to today's gospel and parable, as we bare these crosses, we must stick out or necks, dig deep in our pockets and place others before ourselves, always. God doesn't want 100% from us, I believe He wants 100,000% from each of us, when it comes to compassion and love for others. If there is anything we can take with us, as we leave pondering over today's gospel, let us consider these few closing thoughts: Jesus' love for us to save us, cost Him His life. How many countless America's have defended our freedoms and it cost them their lives. Look at 9/11, so many died trying to save others. Chrissy's brother Albert defended the woman being attacked and it cost him his life. There will always be a cost. Pray and ask God to guide your life, your choices and your challenges, so that you make the right choice when it comes to the love and compassion to your (our) neighbors.

Mustard Seed Size Faith

Hello Everyone,
Faith is a gift that God has given to us freely. Do we really know the power of this special gift? Did we have any idea that this faith, can literally move mountains? Who would have thought that mere belief and faith in Jesus would enable us to move that which God Himself has created on the earth. Today we will be reflecting on Luke 17:5-10 (Sayings of Faith / Attitude of a Servant). Very exciting reading today. God shows us that loving and believing in Him is what gives us the strength to do anything. Yes anything. Moving a mountain isn't something that is so easily done. How would man move a mountain? Well if it's anything beyond something in someones yard, my guess would be that it would take great earth movers (which we have) and it would take lots of time. Look at the American highway system, so many of those roads go through where mountains once where; but then if you really look at the highways, so many more simply go over and or tunnel through, or go around the mountain. My conclusion to that is: Why is that? Is simply, some mountains just can't be moved or relocated, it's just impossible.
About ten years ago, online at Survey Central, there was a survey that asked as a general question: How might you move a mountain? Some responses were very funny, and others were insightfully smart. Jody said, "By myself? One bucketful at a time. - With friends? Several bucketfuls at a time. - Possibly a steam shovel. - But with God? Through prayer." Most people responding to this question were more humorous and less insightful than Jody was. Eris said, "Why move the mountain? It's probably better off where it is. Then I can always go and visit it." Mandy said, "The mountain is but a computer generated reality pulled over your eyes to blind you from the real world." That was rather insightful of how we really think about that. The mountains in our life are so overwhelming large at times and our inability to try to move them or desire to move them blind us from what's really going on in our lives. Insightful don't you think? Gilly also said something that so many people do in times of challenges and road blocks in our lives, "I'd turn around and instantly get lost. I know there was a mountain over there a minute ago..." And then to top that last quote, how many people eventually give up and do what Billy said, "I would not move a mountain. Instead, I would learn to live in a way that didn't require me to move a mountain."
Do we in general just give up, when we look at something that looks impossible for us? I can't say that even with all that we (I) have been through that I ever look at something as impossible. Rather through prayer and confidence in God's will in our lives; we forge forward believing and hoping for the best results, results that would honor our Lord. Some of the comments above were indeed funny. Most people when given the chance, can be pretty funny, and the funny ones still held some wisdom in them. But funny is good. Laughter is the best medicine through the tidal waves of life's challenges. Do you live your life in such a way that when a mountain is in your way, that you simple just move it? Many may wonder with the challenges maybe you have recently faced. So that you better understand what I am truly saying, I will share with you the way I see it. Here in our family we are going through life, lots of kids, lots of love and lots of hopes and dreams. Then all of a sudden this huge mountain called "cancer" is dropped right our path, and into Chrissy lung. If we can't rid our life of it; we will have to go over it or through it without any knowledge of how big it is. Going around it trying to avoid it, will only lengthen the journey and only further keeps away from solving it, and could cost a great deal. We have no choice but to do all we can to move that mountain. I hope that was relateable and understandable. Do you see what I am saying? We all have mountains...
God has blessed us to be friends and helpers, so we can help keep each other in the straight and narrow path. If we are to remain on a straight path together heading for Jesus, then we must move away the mountains in our lives, together. Sometime we just need the encouraging words of good Godly friends around us, to move that mountain. You know how Ty Pennington from, ABC's Extreme Home Makeover encourages everyone in the community, all at the same time, they yell, "Move That Bus". Along with a variety of people that help out, Tracy, Paul, Paige, Michael, Leigh... There is just a huge variety of designers that work with Ty. Well together in prayer and as a community we to, can yell in faith, "Move That Mountain." I am a huge fan of the show, maybe that was a given. LOL. It's just incredible seeing how they are changing many lives, while helping encourage people to move those huge mountains out of their way. So they can take care of ill family members, or move on after someones life was taken. I'm not an advocate for the show, maybe I should be. :) But we usually stop everything at home, when we know it's on. The reruns through a Saturday or Sunday are wonderful to watch. Miracle after miracle to watch and cry tears of joy, with the families. Please keep the faith, mountains can and will be moved by our faith; not only as individuals, but also as a community. I leave you with this today: How compelled do you feel in your faith to move mountains, and know that nothing is impossible because God is on your team? Maybe you can volunteer more and assist someone, and give stuff; and do all those things even with all the obstacles in your life in your way. Let us all pray together, "Jesus, I trust in You."

Become Like Children

Become Like Children
©2010 James Dacey, Jr. SFO
Hello Everyone,
Why must we become like children? You know it's been said to me that I am "immature", "you never grow up". "act like an adult". I love it, I really do. Does that make me immature when I say I really love it? Nah nah, na nah nah, I don't care; I never act like a kid, like do I? LOL. I got to tell you, I really enjoy today's gospel reading a lot. Today we are reflecting on Matthew 18:1-5,10 (The Greatest in The Kingdom). Children. What is so important that we must be like verse 3 and 4 say, "and said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Let's just think of the average mindset of a child: belief and trust in their parents, unconcerned about the far off future, no real fear, no judgment towards others, no pride, always sharing, mostly always looking to have fun and laughs. What a bunch of blessed aspects of a child. We need to be just like that. Believe me I try my best to be as childish as possibly can. LOL. If you really don't believe me, ask my wife, even my kids will vouch that is true.
Check this out:
"Once born into childlike faith, brimming with belief, typical people begin to lose their faith. Society mocks them. Their friends smirk. They come to change the world, but over time the world changes them. Soon they forget who they were; they forget the faith they once had. Then one day someone tells them the truth, but they don’t want to go back, because they’re comfortable in their new skin. Being a stranger in this world is never easy." Ted Dekker
Well said Mr. Dekker, sounds like you were talking about me.
“Youth has no age.”~Pablo Picasso
Here is a list of ways to be more child-like I found written by:
"33 Ways to Be Childlike Today" by Lori Deschene
LEARN
1. Read a book you loved as a kid. by Dr. Seuss.
2. Figure out how something works, even if it’s irrelevant to your life, just because it’s interesting. Go ahead—Google “How Fish Breathe” or something you don’t fully understand.
3. Fill out your own permission slip to go to the aquarium, a museum, or a nearby tourist attraction. If something looks interesting, take a break and go!
PLAY
4. Do something fun. Make a Lego village, pull out the coloring book, or jump rope.
5. Explore. Walk around your block without any intention. Just see what’s going on, maybe even using a big fallen branch as a walking stick.
6. Run or skip if you feel like it. Flail your arms, like Phoebe in my favorite episode of Friends.
7. Be silly. Look for funny things in your day–they’re always there–and let yourself laugh about them.
8. Try a new look–think the kid from Adam Sandler’s Big Daddy, when he dressed himself, but a little less ridiculous.
SHARE
9. Remember something awesome and call a friend to share it. (i.e.: ‘Member the time we made pizza for breakfast? That was awesome, huh?)
10. Tell someone they’re your hero. If you admire what they do, look right in their eyes and say, “I think you’re pretty awesome.”
11. Be a know it all. Tell someone about something you learned today and get excited about sharing it.
12. Tell it like it is. Don’t be a liar, liar, pants on fire. As Dr. Seuss said, “Say what you mean and mean what you say because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”
13. Be vulnerable. Tell someone how you feel, or what you really want to be when you grow up, without making them pinky swear to take it to the grave.
14. Share a meal with people around a table, even if it isn’t a special occasion, like that Normal Rockwell painting families often recreate.
CONNECT
15. Tell your mom and dad you love them. Call them right now and say it for no reason other than it being true.
16. Make a spontaneous play date. Invite people over right now, for no reason but to have fun, even if you have plans scheduled for the weekend with them.
17. Eat lunch on a rock with a friend. You don’t need a restaurant or a cafeteria. Channel the good old days from camp when a little sand in your PB & J meant a lunchtime adventure.
18. Ask for help if you need it. Just like you used to pull your desk next to someone else’s to read along, walk up to someone you trust, and let them be there for you.
19. Tap into your innocence—meaning give someone the benefit of the doubt, as if you don’t know yet to be cynical.
CREATE
20. Make a card by hand to give to someone you care about. As Pablo Picasso said, “All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”
21. Get messy when you’re cooking. Not tomato-sauce-on-the-ceiling-fan messy. The point is: let loose and enjoy yourself instead of making cooking a chore.
22. Start a piggy bank. Or a coin jar. You don’t need to save big to save; and you never know what little adventures you can have with just a little extra cash.
23. Try a hands-on project
24. Assume you’d be really good at something–piano, rock climbing, organizing a club–and then find out, instead of assuming the opposite.
BE
25. Sit Indian style in your chair if you’re able. Crossed-legged sitting is actually really good for your posture—an added bonus!
26. Surround yourself with your favorite color. If orange makes you smile, plaster orange pictures all over your cubicle.
27. Cry if you need to. If the day gets difficult, don’t try to be a hero. When you let yourself feel it, you’re better able to let it go.
28. Relax and do nothing. Don’t try to fill that empty pocket of time. You’ve been productive enough. Kick back, cut loose, and let yourself waste a little time. As John Lennon said, “Time you enjoyed wasting was not wasted.”
IMAGINE
29. Forget what was tough about yesterday. Why dwell on that fight with your sister when you could be having fun today?
30. Change your mind easily. According to Alison Gopnik, a professor of psychology at the University of California at Berkeley, kids’ brains are extremely flexible, “so they can change what they think based on new evidence very quickly and easily.”
31. Visualize a tomorrow with endless possibilities. Not sure you can be the person you want to be?
32. Don’t take no for an answer. If there’s something you want to do, be persistent. You can make it happen!
33. Ignore something someone says if it limits you, your potential or your possibilities.
So what has this blog helped us with today? Being an immature child? No, this blog is helping to direct us to really put our heart and mind in the mindset of a child. I could have done research and came up with a similar list, but Lori did such a wonderful job that sharing what she did,was much better. I really enjoyed reading that list. Some stuff we may not use, but so many of these ideas are really spectacular. Besides I don't want to be the only "kid" in our group of old people. LOL. Who wants to go the park and play? Or go for a bike ride? Or build a sand castle? I will never ever ever grow up. You have my word.

Hello Everyone,
It is so important to be able to find some really good, reliable webpages; and as Christians we tend to be a whole lot more particular to our spiritual needs. Today I'd like to share from my "Favorites" a couple of the top links I really use a lot for research and inspiration. I just know some of you are very hungry for some wonderful, helpful, inspirational links. I pray that these few are helpful.
Many of us pray the rosary in many different ways. Some of us like to pray the standard one series of five mysteries of the day. Others of us prefer praying the entire twenty mysteries every single day, usually those of us who do that are members of The Confraternity of The Most Holy Rosary. I highly recommend many of you to consider that type of a commitment to the Rosary. In the past I have directed many of you a most blessed organization that opens up some wonderful information to you in regards to the Rosary. Today once again I direct you to them. Please take a few minutes to either read or join. It's free and you will be glad you did take the time. I have been a member for probably over twenty years now.

Today's blog is trying to help direct you to some of my favorite Rosary and daily scripture reading links. There are so many places we can go, most of my favorites that are in my favorites list on my computer. I don't know how many of you take the time to read each days readings. I enjoy staying very closely in tune with scripture. I realize many don't have the time, and when we are online, we are quick, answering email, seeing our friends on facebook or myspace and then poof we are gone. How about if while you are online, in the background you got to hear someone reading the days scripture while you do what are doing? I simply love this link. Just press "Audio" from that link on any day, and above it, it will say what day it is, which is always the current days reading. You will also find that this link as a whole is extremely helpful and very informative in all capacities when it comes to our faith.

Here's a page I am sure many of you will enjoy. So many of us adore our Lady, and so many of us wish to learn all we can about the many feast days, and celebrations around the world and throughout the ages. This page covers the entire year, and wow does it ever cover the year, and ever single celebration you can possibly imagine for our Lady. And throughout this page you will find literally endless links to documents, and books and explanations of what is being said, truly a very helpful, very useful resource to anyone seeking further knowledge and insight as to Our Lady and all that she has done throughout the world.

Lamb In The Midst of Wolves
©2010 James Dacey, Jr. SFO
Hello Everyone,
Jesus wants us to reap a harvest for Him, what kind of harvest can we expect in the the world we live in today? Jesus knew that the disciples would literally be "lambs in the midst of wolves". What does that mean for us? It almost sounds like voluntary death. How can a lamb exist amongst wolves? Wouldn't the lamb be devoured, and teared apart by the wolves? Today we are reflecting on Luke 10:1-12 (The Mission of the Seventy Two). Is God's word sown into our hearts? Do thoughts of Him and His magnificence fill our minds? Can we take steps forward trusting, and following His lead, doing His work. Can this sacrifice be one that we can take on? Are we willing to fully surrender our very desires, and wants, and to give all that we have to Him? Living the Sacrificial Life is a blessing beyond the norm, of the way the world would look at it. Whatever skills we have, whatever blessings we have, we must share them and use them all for God's glory. You all know how much I always share how important it is for us to do for others rather than for ourselves; well this is where the rubber meets the road. Jesus lived the very example life that we to must live. There were times in Jesus' ministry where the crowds loved and adored Him; and then there were also times where they hated Him and only desired to murder Him. Which they eventually did on a cross. Without fear, or excuse or whatever, let us really, I mean it, REALLY follow Jesus. Let us let Him use us for His glory. Our hands, our feet, our voice, our faith.
Just Surrender to Him. We can not live a life that is holy and pleasing to God, if it is without God. Our obedience, our allegiance, our devotion must all be in Jesus. Once you do that with every single fiber of your being, you will never be the same, your life will forever change in a way that will make you bold in Him. You do realize being lukewarm or living an independent life without God, only opens the door for satan to come in? He sits at the edge of our doubtfulness and just waits for us to blink; once we blink he does all he can to lure us away from Jesus using our own doubts against us. He is a deceitful liar, only looking for us to trust in his evil ways that only take us away from Gods sight. The distractions of habits, sin, and tantalizing of sin, keep our eyes away from looking at God. That alone brings great joy to satan. We must not allow satan to temp us, by bringing us to the edge of the temple roof and embrace his offer of gaining the whole world. Don't do it. We all fall for many of the tricks of the evil one. No matter we must get up, dust off ourselves and return to Jesus on our knees begging Him for forgiveness. Jesus loves us so much.
Every single minute of every single day of every single week of every single month of every single year must be devoted to Jesus. We really need to offer whatever we have, whatever we can offer, no matter how small; it is better then offering nothing at all. Think of it this way, "I delight in weakness, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong". 2 Corinthians 12:10, Paul's insight to true strength in Christ is what we must understand. His walk and perspective on life was so focused on Jesus. No matter what ups and downs we have, no matter how much we lose or gain, no matter what, we must be strong and bold in following Him. This scripture that is so powerful, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20. That is all we need to do, simply summed up. Another exciting scripture to embrace, "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ." 1 Corinthians 11:1.
We can gain much strength in scripture, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;" Isaiah 43:2-3. And then here's the scripture that gets down to the truth of our following Jesus, "Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." Luke 9:23. Jesus will instill in us a JOY that will forever eternally overflow inside us, your life will never be the same in your surrender to Him. "I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete." John 15:11. I pray that this blog helped create a huge desire inside your heart to fully surrender to Jesus. Simply allow Him to be the absolute center of your life.
When you follow Him, always pray, "Jesus, I trust in You."

No One Looking Back Allowed
©2010 James Dacey, Jr. SFO
Hello Everyone,
Nothing must stand between us and following Jesus. Sorry if you don't want to hear that, but nothing must separate us at all. Jesus never said following Him was going to be easy or without cost. Just as Jesus paid the price and carried His cross, so must we. Today we are reflecting on Luke 9:57-62 (The Would Be Followers of Jesus). This scripture is insightful and so much wisdom can be gained by the mere simplistic way this is all said. I'm no farmer but look at these words in verse 62, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God." We must stay on a path that is straight and narrow. Check this out, "This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: "A voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.'" Matthew 3:3. If a farmer isn't watching the direction he is plowing and he sways all over, that off the track effect will ripple and effect the entire farm, making it a mess. The farmer must look forward and stay the course without ever looking back. He really must stay focused.
Are you ready to follow Jesus? We must do the same in our own walk, by never allowing distractions, people, habits, whatever, to cause us to get off track. We should be very thankful to our Lord, He don't pull any punches, He just tells us like it is, upfront. Through His grace and promise, "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life." Matthew 19:29. What is our objective in this life? To live in the biggest house. No. To own the most expensive car. No. To have the most prestigious career. No. To have popular notoriety. No. To have power to rule over millions. No. To do whatever we want to do. No. What then is our objective in this life that we are now living? Answer is simple: John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." If we believe in Him, we obey Him, so then we follow Him. It all ties together.
But, Are you ready to follow Jesus? That's the real question, directed to each of us personally. The cost here is huge. But we do know the reward is eternal, so it is well worth paying that price now in this life. Right? Oh come on, don't tell me you got wet feet now. Well, dry them off, don't look back and let's go, our Lord is waiting for us. LOL. All joking aside, this "following" Jesus thing if we are seriously serious about it, it will indeed cost us everything to get there. You do realize that, don't you? Your desire can't be to return to the home of your body, but rather move forward following Jesus to the eternal home He has prepared for us in Heaven. If we are indeed followers of Him, He who is from Heaven (Jesus, the Son of God). Then we are not attached to this world by no means. So I ask again, Are you ready to follow Jesus?
Is there anything at all in this life that can possibly come close to giving us a mere fraction or slice of what Jesus is offering to us? The answer is simply, No. Just ask yourself these very straight forward questions right from scripture, "What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?" Matthew 16:26. "Gains the whole world", so even if we gain it all, we gain nothing. And if we forfeit our soul, we then forfeit eternity. Then our life no longer has a purpose. Yes our lives have purpose, I didn't mean it the way it could have been interpreted. Yes, getting married, having children, raising them, having some sort of a career to support them; that is all well and good, but not what is required to make it to Heaven. There is no point in this life, if it ends at the grave. So to surrender from it, give it all up, and follow Jesus to eternity; that's a far better offer. I am not a boring person, by no stretch of what that is saying. I don't follow sports, I don't play none either. I don't have any hobbies, except making rosary beads. I don't hang out with any friends at a bar. I don't go hunting or fishing. I spend 24/7/365 consumed in Jesus. Where are your treasures? I have no regrets, you can have the same deep love I have, just do it. This is my motto, my alligence to my Lord, for the past 25+ years I have been saying this: "YOU CAN HAVE ALL THIS WORLD HAS TO OFFER, ITS WEALTH, ITS LUSTS, ITS THINGS; ALL I WANT AND DESIRE IS JESUS." Hello Everyone,
Nothing must stand between us and following Jesus.
Hello Everyone,
Insightfully interesting gospel today. How do we treat our enemies? Are we as kind and concerned as Jesus is? Or do we think and act like James and John was, wanting to destroy them? Today's gospel for reflection is, Luke 9:51-56 (Departure to Jerusalem / Samaritan Inhospitality) When we get treated harshly and mean and outright rude enough where we can clearly see the motive of the other is the destruction of us, what do we do? God wants us to make friends with our enemies, love them, forgive them, and to pray for them. Scripture is very clear about where we need to be when it comes to our enemies. "But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." Luke 6:27-28. That should be all we need to know, Jesus Himself taught this. You can expand your understanding by reading the entire section of that teaching, just refer to Luke 6:27-38. As Christians we are uniquely different in so many ways, one very important part of our faith is how we love and care for those who hate us. I know, some can not agree with that sentiment. I have to say I agree on the surface completely with you, but honestly when the rubber hits the road, we must obey our Lord's words.
How do we treat our enemies? We must keep this in mind in our everyday lives, so many respond in an instant, never thinking about what they are actually doing. See our problem as humans is that our responses at times is more worldly like, than Godly in their nature. It is a very special grace and a most special spirit that can absorb the hatred and anger and respond to it with love. For me, I don't consider anyone my enemy, obviously satan is, but I even pray for his repentance. Yes the federal government isn't exactly someone I like either, many know my rants and raves about that bunch. But when it's all said and done out of mouth and onto this screen, please know that I pray for them, in the hopes that things will change. And that is one of the key elements in dealing with anger: Hope. Our prayers are for our enemies is "hopeful" in that they to, get to know the God of the Universe that we know; and by doing so their hearts will be like ours, united with His. We must leave judgment with God, because in the end, anger against our enemies is "judgment". And God only judges, not only what they do, but also how we respond to what they do.
How do we treat our enemies? God wants our response to be like His would be; kind, friendly, forgiving, caring and expecting nothing return. It is only through God mercy and love that we can forgive and love someone who is trying to harm us, or those we love. The power of revenge must be broken by the power of love. Prayer and a very special relationship with Jesus, makes all the difference for how we tend to handle these challenges.
Trust in Jesus no matter what
Our enemies can't take that away,
Pray for their souls and forgive
Lift them up in prayer everyday.
We must love them sincerely
Only praying for the best,
For only God can judge them
We must love, God will do the rest.
So How do we treat our enemies? Trust in our Lord, and the Holy Spirit that is inside of us. Know that God is there in all and through all things in our lives. We do not stand alone when we suffer these things. The pain and hurt we feel God is well aware of. But by His grace and the strength we have empowered inside us through the Holy Spirit, we can really absorb a lot, and in His name ask God to forgive them and love them.
The Holy Spirit will guide
We must be open to forgive,
Don't hold a grudge or be angry
For neither can eternally live.
These simple two verses sums it all up, if you are not sure how often we need to be forgiving, "Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times." Matthew 18:21-22. Always forgiving !!
For strength and wisdom pray, "Jesus, I trust in You."

Hello Everyone,
Today just happens to be the Memorial of St. Vincent de Paul. Here is an excerpt telling us a little about him, "Born April 24, 1581, Pouy, now Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, Fr.—died Sept. 27, 1660, Paris; canonized 1737; feast day September 27. French saint, founder of the Congregation of the Mission (Lazarists, or Vincentians) for preaching missions to the peasantry and for educating and training a pastoral clergy." Copyright © 1994-2010 Encyclopedia Britannica, Inc. If there is one priority that Jesus has taught of us, and St Vincent further taught us; it was to take care of the poor. We know that Jesus grew up poor, not because he just ended up that; but rather He made the choice to be born into the poor and become one of them. Jesus clearly knew His mission. Check out these incredible scriptures. "The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor." Matthew 11:5, and, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor." Luke 4:18, and also, "So he replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy[a] are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor." Luke 7:22.
Well I guess that sums it up, don't it? In some ways it should sum it up. But unfortunately so many see the poor as a burden and hindrance. Sad that people see them like that. The poor can be seen as "Jesus" in so many ways. Jesus himself spoke of this in Matthew's gospel. I won't post the entire scripture, but you can read the entire teaching in Matthew 25:31-46 (The Sheep and The Goats), here is the verse that sums it up best, "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." verse 40. Have you noticed especially over these last few days, how scripture is all entwined and everything said by our Lord is confirmed by His own words elsewhere and throughout Scripture. We have a Mighty caring loving God filled with so much wisdom and love. That alone is such a wonderful revelation and chunk of knowledge that should spark such excitement to our lives. Just today, me and my kids were talking about growing up and being "mature". My daughter Sarah especially, she's 17. I told her it takes many years and a continual increase of responsibilities to gain the maturity and respect of being an adult, a mere change in the number of years you are, don't do anything. She was quick witted, "Dad, mom said you never grew up?" It's just to funny, we can't make this stuff up..
How do things get misinterpreted and then stereotyped? Crazy thought even, but an even more crazy truth. Many of you know me, I am an adult, lol. Hey stop laughing at me. LOL. Anyhow, yes I am an adult, but I am an adult who has a spirit that is so alive inside me that I get giddy, weird, strange and well outright childish. There I said it, I admit it. But my heart is leaping for Joy knowing that one day I will be with my Lord, and that will be the first day, that last for all eternity. The time we are here is simply interpreted by me like this, "THIS IS A TEST! For the next -?- years this station will be conducting a test of the emergency Heavenly system. This is ONLY A TEST." Do you get it now? So do you see what I am saying in a round about, all over the map sort of way? I didn't get lost here off topic, I am still very much on topic. My family at times see me a nutcase, screwball, weird-o, on drugs without drugs sorta guy. LOL. But I take it as "cool" they noticed. It gives me a chance to tell them and so many others "why" I am so strange and why I always act like it's Christmas morning. You know all know why.. The poor are even more misunderstood. Why do so many shun them and treat them like they are diseased. It's time to change those thoughts.
It's so wonderful that we get to remember St. Vincent de Paul today. His work and mission in his life focused on the peasants, the poor and those who had virtually nothing. He was concerned not only for their basic needs of food and clothes, but also for their respect. St. Vincent was a very compassionate man of God. Have any of you ever been "poor"? Do you understand what being poor is? Some think they do, but honestly have no clue. Just because you can't go to the tanning salon this week, or renovation of the newly added wing to the house has been delayed a month, that doesn't mean you are poor. I know poor, my family knows poor. I have shared many experiences about this in our lives. We've been there, and when you are there, you know it. Poor is unlike any experience you will ever know. Every single little thing matters; soap, milk, bread, medications. You name it, when you are poor spending a dollar becomes a challenge. Let us please look at the poor with respect and show them how much we really care for them. Yes let's always pray for them, but step out, give them food, a coat, shoes, whatever, care for them, for they are Jesus in many ways to us. Closing thought: Would we walk past Jesus if He was on the street poor and suffering?
Step out in faith, praying, "Jesus, I trust in You."

Between Us A Great Chasm
©2010 James Dacey, Jr. SFO
Hello Everyone,
I am just an overly ecstatic follower to an absolutely magnificent God. And today we have a very special gospel to reflect upon, and it's even more special because it's a parable. In today's gospel there will be a great chasm that can never be crossed, a further confirmation that once judgment has been made, nothing can be changed. Today we are reading Luke 16:19-31 (The Parable of The Rich Man and Lazarus). So what comes to mind upon reading this exciting scripture? I think to some degree this sounds like an upside down backwards world. Verse 22 to the start of verse 23, "The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried; and in Hades, being in torment," Lazarus was a man who suffered greatly and lived a sad life of misfortune; yet he never lost hope in God's love and mercy, he stayed focused on Heaven. And the rich man, had tremendous wealth and possessions; yet even while people suffered around him while he was alive, he did nothing, because he selfishly only took care of himself. The man who had nothing gets everything, and the man with everything got nothing. Apparently our earthly successes can not be put in our resume at our judgment. But our earthly compassion and mercy does.
To be clear, let us know that the relationship we have with Jesus is what will truly determine our eternity. But we also know by having that relationship, our hearts will be led to be more compassionate and caring towards others. And then the closer we draw to Him the less we will attached to the things of this earth; allowing us to unlock our possessions and share them with others. It is my understanding that God gave much to many and little to many, some He gave an easy road of many pleasures and success; while others are on a road of struggle and barely surviving. Those are just my thoughts. I know we have free-will and I know the roads can change, but with that being said, there is still purpose that is easily seen in all this. Think of this logic: Please don't think of what I am about to say on a presidential "share the wealth" thought. I don't consider that fair or something our free-will will have any desires in our life to share. My logic has nothing to do with that sort of thinking. Rather consider this: We can not take anything with us when we die. Right? Of cause we can't. And our titles and positions and ego bare no value to guarantee us a place in Heaven either. Right? Nope they don't. So then, if we are gifted and blessed with the ability to earn and gain; why not consider a portion or percentage of that to help others. Do not give away so much that you to become poor, but rather give away just enough so that you are ability to continue earning, so that you will be able to continue helping others. True charity from the heart.
I just love the way that God's economy works. Everyone who has treasures here on earth, no matter how great the value or diversity or size, it all goes null and void at their death, and can not pass through the gates of death and be with them. But for the believer who keeps their treasures in Heaven, with no limit on what spiritual graces they can receive, at their death receive an account overflowing with God's love, peace and Joy. My Dear God, people, isn't that so exciting? Can you see why I am so addicted to God's love and that my addiction makes me goofy with excitement. We have so much to look forward to. But we must keep in mind, God knows our hearts, our intentions and the ultimate reasons we do things that we don't tell anyone. He knows everything, so keep that in mind, we can not manipulate God. Did you notice something rather peculiar about this "chasm" that separate Heaven and hell? We "our souls" can not cross this great wall, but notice how the rich man was able to speak to Father Abraham; and Father Abraham was able to distinctly know clearly who it was that was calling to him. So even though our spirits could not pass through the wall that separated to two, we know by this scripture that the cries and of those cast into hell can be heard by God. Another interesting observation that we as believers knew would happen; unbelievers clearly will now know that God does exist, and all that they refused to listen to, was true.
Hasn't today's gospel been so exciting? So much joy throughout God's words, and even more so by the very words of our Lord. The choices we make here, will give us the results in the next life. What must we do? Be true to God !! Now here is some serious wisdom in scripture that can be tagged to today's gospel reading. Matthew 19:16-30, what a true parallel to today's wisdom. Praise Jesus for all this wisdom.
"Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?" "Why do you ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments." "Which ones?" the man inquired. Jesus replied, " 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother, and 'love your neighbor as yourself.'" "All these I have kept," the young man said. "What do I still lack?" Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, "Who then can be saved?" Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Peter answered him, "We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?" Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first." I couldn't hold back, I just had to put this scripture into today's blog. Look at the power and wisdom of God. Praise Jesus, we have an awesome, loving, caring God.

They Do Not Understand
©2010 James Dacey, Jr. SFO
Hello Everyone,
Saturday has arrived, I know so many of us have had such a busy hectic week. Such a blessing for so many of us to rest in the Lord through the weekend. Sunday is just around the corner. Today let us do a gospel reflection to help spark that wonderful feeling of love that we have for our Lord. Today's gospel is Luke 9:43-45 (The Second Prediction of The Passion). This very short gospel has had me wondering a few thoughts. In our lives how often do we really reject the things we don't want to see? Many people in our society, in our families and amongst our friends have heard God's word; so many of them also know the consequences of rejecting it, and the reward of accepting it. But my real question is, which don't have to answered out loud or to me, but our Lord will know your hearts answer when you read this question. Please proceed with caution, this question will be immediately answered in your heart, once you read it.
Do I fully with all my heart give my full allegiance and love to my Lord, trusting His word and His promises?
These thoughts have lead my prayers to reflect on these scripture verses, "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.""Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.""I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty." Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God." 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1.
"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." Deuteronomy 6:5.
"Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." Matthew 22:37.
"If anyone does not love the Lord—a curse be on him. Come, O Lord!" 1 Corinthians 16:22.
"Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life." Jude 1:21.
Do you see what I mean. Scripture really directs us. Loving God is and should be our first priority and first preference in our lives, nothing should come before Him. Let us look at the the definition of the word "allegiance"?
al·le·giance
NOUN:
1. Loyalty or the obligation of loyalty, as to a nation, sovereign, or cause.
2. The obligations of a vassal to a lord.
Some might be asking: How then do I do this? Understandable. I don't claim to have all the answers, God alone does; but I do know that my spirit leads me to live in such a way that my "allegiance" is to my Lord. Here are some of the ways I am able to achieve this. I am a "scripture addict" LOL, I don't even know if there is such an addiction, maybe I started something new. But I rely heavily on scripture to guide me, my life, my choices and how I live a life in allegiance to my Lord. Check out some of these scriptures that will help supercharge your spirit to be strong and solid standing for Jesus, His Father and ours and His Mother and ours. Be strong, be bold. Do not back down.
"The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires." Romans 6:10-12
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time." 1 Peter 5:6
We really need to live our lives as living sacrifices. I know dying to ourselves isn't the popular thing many wish to hear these days, but that indeed is the ultimate secret. If we do not live our lives for ourselves and rather live for God instead, then all that we desire, all that we want and all that matters to us, will rest in Him. Then our allegiance will be in Him. We must be last, always, in all things.

Pray The Rosary Often
©2010 James Dacey, Jr. SFO
Hello Everyone,
Everyone knew that The Rosary Man wasn't going to go through the week of sharing "prayer" without talking about the Rosary. LOL. When I say "often" in that title, I mean if you are able to and if your heart feels led, pray more than just one Rosary a day. Sometimes it takes further knowledge about the spiritual power that is in a single Rosary; and then other times it just takes time for our hearts to urn for the sounding echo of those beautiful prayers each day. I can't example the excitement, contentment, and complete "at peace" that I personally feel when I hold my Rosary and begin my prayers. Some have asked me, "What are your methods of praying the Rosary?" I really don't have any special method that is any different than anyone else; in fact I prefer it as simple as possible. The only difference is that to me, the Rosary is a daily, on going prayer. In other words, as soon one Rosary is completed, I have already plotted and planned where and when I will begin the next. Some people just can't relate to that. Is it an addiction? I don't know, how would you define an addiction? I do hear comments that I am goofy and immature and joking around all the time. But I can explain that, "I am drunk on the Lord." The Joy supersedes anything I can actually handle, so it spews out of me like a "love-sick crackhead'. I know I just stole that from Kesha, but it's true, with how I feel about Jesus, His Mother, St. Joseph, the Holy Spirit, the disciples, and I could go on and on. I'll go further with those lyrics, because in essence to them, they say exactly how I feel about the Rosary that is all about Jesus. "What you've got (LORD) is hard to find. Think about (YOU) all about it all the time. I'm all strung up my heart is fried. I just cant get you off my mind.."
Now let's look further into how someone can get so excited and all wound up about the Rosary. Did you ever hear about the book called, "The Secret of the Rosary", by St. Louis Marie de Montfort? If you didn't, you really need to either get a copy of it, they are usually only $1-$2 a copy. Back when we had our Rosary Makers Guild we use to give away hundreds of them. Here are some excerpts that show you how exciting a read this most precious book is. In fact here is a free online version of it for you to enjoy:
http://www.sanpiodapietrelcina.org/english/secret.htm
28th Rose - 88. Our Lady one day revealed to Blessed Alan de la Roche that, after the holy sacrifice of the Mass, which is the first and most living memorial of our Lord's passion, there was indeed no more excellent devotion or one of greater merit than that of the Rosary, which is like a second memorial and representation of the life and passion of Jesus Christ.
45th Rose - 129. I would like to add that the Rosary ought to be said reverently, that is to say, it ought to be said as much as possible, kneeling, with hands joined, clasping the rosary. However, if you are ill, you can, of course, say it in bed; or if one is traveling it can be said while walking; if, on account of some infirmity, you cannot kneel you can say it standing or sitting. You can even say it while working if your duties do not allow you to leave your job, for work with ones hands is not always incompatible with vocal prayer.
46th Rose - 134. Finally, when the Rosary is said in common, it is far more formidable to the devil, because in this public prayer it is an army that is attacking him. He can often overcome the prayer of an individual, but if it is joined to that of others, the devil has much more trouble in getting the best of it. It is easy to break a single stick; but if you join it to others to make a bundle, it cannot be broken. Vis unita fit fortior. Soldiers join together in an army to overcome their enemies; immoral people often come together for parties of debauchery and dancing; evil spirits join forces in order to make us lose our souls. Why, then, should not Christians join forces to have Jesus Christ present with them, to appease the anger of God, to draw down his grace and mercy on us, and to frustrate and overcome the devil more forcefully?
Do you see now, how exciting the Rosary can be? I bounce off the walls everyday just from the mere fact that I can think of all the Joy I find in them there little beads. Actually I don't even have to go that far, I just ponder on all twenty mysteries and I am so filled with so much Joy. There is more than enough Joy in the Rosary for all to receive personally. We must always remember that it is Our Lady who always brings us to Our Lord in the Rosary. And another very joyful exciting part of praying the Rosary is that is "family" in design. We go to the Father, to get to Our Mother, to get to her Son. All roads lead to Jesus. Jesus is all we need, nothing at all is needed in our life to bring Joy into our Life. Nothing! Once you can embrace the Joy that is inside those beads you will be endlessly overflowing with so much Joy; that nothing in this life will ever be able to give you the same Joy.
Look at how precious and magnificent these mysteries are:

St. Alphonsus de Liguori says, "Nothing can set hearts ablaze with love for God like the Blessed Sacrament; and, the Blessed Virgin, through Her Rosary is the Treasure of Grace;" that gently leads us to her Son.

Pray The Rosary Often
