Glorious Walk - 4/5

Hello Everyone,

What an absolutely glorious mystery for us to celebrate. I adore our Blessed Mother so much, but I think everyone pretty much knows that about me. Today we reflect on the fourth Glorious Mystery - The Assumption. Tradition says that Mary was taken to Heaven both body and spirit. As St. Paul has referred to the body as the temple of the Holy Spirit, we can reflect upon Mary's body. And we plainly see that she who bore the Son of God, was most certainly a temple for God's Son. It is only fitting that her body be lifted to Heaven. For how can the Son of God be born in an unworthy unholy vessel. She had to be pure and perfect, for the blood and nourishment that ran through her body ran through our Lord's infant body. Today let us reflect on the dignity of life, not only at conception, but all the way to our natural death. Everyone deserves to live a life that is respected and protected. What right do we have to decide who should live and who should die, only God can do that. I do realize now that the government wishes to be God over all of us and decide that. LOL. Ok, I won't go there. There is no place for politics when it comes to my Lord, and His precious Mother.

It's clear that we have been born for a couple reasons. I have spoken of them in other blogs, but we have also been born to spend eternity with God in Heaven. Our bodies have to be treated respectfully and with some sort of dignity. If we are only destined to spend a life here and then die and be buried, and that's it. How sad it is for those who believe that, this life must be such a hindrance to those who end at the end of life. I hear stories from people I know personally who now say we were created by aliens. ??? Yes I am serious. This world is so dead said against God, that they would rather pic something that don't exist than agree that Almighty God created all things and God decides where we will spend our eternity. Maybe they are scared of judgment day. Who knows either way atheist of believe life must be respected and protected. Another strange conversation (I think I may have told this story, I know I told Jan). At work our very liberal co-worker insists that abortion is between a woman and God. And she said she believes in God and that we are all God's children. Now either she is on some serious drugs or I am, that don't make any sense. I asked, well if you believe in God and we are all God's children, what right do we have to kill one of His children? Dead silence... no answer. No surprise there.

How can we respect human life? How about starting with just being nice and respectful towards others, and having a genuine concern for others before ourselves. I think that's a wonderful way for us to start. No one deserves to be treated rudely or mean. Disrespect or arrogance towards another is just mean. You obviously have no concern for that individual if you treat someone like that. I know when we speak of respect human life we usually mean stopping abortions and stop killing off our elderly. I also see it as to how we treat one another. Thinking of others as more important than yourself is so important. Scripture is very clear, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves." Philippians 2:3. Could you imagine what kind of a world we would live in if so many more people really lived that verse in their lives; and if those who serve the people in local and national government would have that as their motto. Wow. Selfishness and empty conceit only offend those around you; you absolute disrespect those you treat that way. Another wonderful verse is, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Ephesians 4:29.

So here's what we should do. How about everyday from now on, we only speak nice things about and to people we know and even don't know. Just a thought. I know we as Christians are overflowing with kindness and love, this should come easy to so many of us. No more words that bite into someones heart or soul. Instead compliment something on everyone you meet all the time. It's easy, if we stay tuned to W-GOD. If you say, "Oh my this person is so mean, and so rude to me, I can't find one single thing I like about them." and you are serious, because maybe they treated you harshly or they were mean to you and maybe still are. Well today I challenge you when you see that person to compliment their hair, or the shirt they are wearing or shoes or boots; maybe they have a really cool car or maybe its painted a super cool color. The key: be nice, not phony, be sincere. And as I always say, if in doubt and you really want to do this, place all your trust in Jesus and pray. "Jesus, I trust in You"

Glorious Walk - 3/5

Hello Everyone,

Here we are at the third day of this most glorious walk with Jesus. Today let us look at the third Glorious Mystery - The Descent of The Holy Spirit. Did you ever notice why in all the pictures we see of Pentecost, we don't see a dove over our Blessed Mother, when the Descent of the Holy Spirit happens. Why? It's simple, back when the angel of the Lord was speaking to Mary at the Annunciation, it was then that the Holy Spirit had already come upon her. ""The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God." Luke 1:35. We have all been gifted with a most special gift, the Holy Spirit. I believe the key to making our walk with Jesus, closest to that which our Lord has for our life; is all in the way we listen to and wait upon the Holy Spirit that is instilled in us. I also believe it is through the power of the Holy Spirit that we can easily become bolder in our love for Jesus.

Today we celebrate all the gifts and fruits our Lord has given us through the power of the Holy Spirit. There is so much to celebrate. Here's a wonderful to start with, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13. We have been so blessed by such a loving caring God. Scripture says, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23. Let us now reflect upon the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and see what it has to say about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the fruit of the Holy Spirit, and our human virtues. There is so much jam packed in the Catechism to share. Please, I encourage you to embrace the Catechism like you embrace your bible. It is truly a wonderful helpful guide in our faith.

1831 The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. They belong in their fullness to Christ, Son of David. They complete and perfect the virtues of those who receive them. They make the faithful docile in readily obeying divine inspirations.

1832 The fruits of the Spirit are perfections that the Holy Spirit forms in us as the first fruits of eternal glory. The tradition of the Church lists twelve of them: "charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control, chastity."

1834 The human virtues are stable dispositions of the intellect and the will that govern our acts, order our passions, and guide our conduct in accordance with reason and faith. They can be grouped around the four cardinal virtues: prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance.

We really need to be so excited and thrilled with some absolute over the top excitement people. LOL, seriously. Take a good look at what GOD, almighty GOD, has given us through the power of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit that is instilled within us. Now you see yet another very exciting part of why I am always so excited about Jesus and God and our faith all the time. If you need guidance and direction, and you want to have more trust in Jesus' direction in your life, pray, "Jesus, I Trust in You."

Glorious Walk - 2/5

Hello Everyone,

This sure is an incredibly fun, insightful glorious week. Yesterday started out with a special resurrection reflection and how important the relationships we have are. Today we look at the second Glorious Mystery - The Ascension. Another wonderful mystery that draws ever so much closer to the power and glory that is in Jesus. I believe this to be a special reflection of seeing the hand of God in our lives, a sort of visual confirmation knowing that we are not alone, and that God is there just like He said He was. Do you personally feel God's presence in your life? Do you feel like He is there for the simplest of things or only for the hardest most challenging time? That's a very important thought. See I see Jesus / God everywhere in everything and even in everyone. If you keep your radar on and in everything seek Him out; you will find Him. I even see Him in the challenging scary times of what Chrissy is going through.

We must be like the disciples in many ways. There examples of how they followed Jesus, and listened to Him will help us do the same. We will best start out by being true prayer warriors. I believe "prayer" must be such a dynamic, significant part of our everyday life. Do not try to fit prayer into your day, instead; build your day around your prayers and your time with Jesus. That's the only way I live my life. Nothing else matters unless we are praying. I heard it said by Archbishop Fulton Sheen, "We should spend 30 minutes a day in prayer, and if we are really busy and have no time, then we should spend one hour in prayer." It is that important. Let us begin each and every day with Jesus. Our relationship with Him must be so real.

With that in mind consider praying in a certain place all the time. Make that place the one place where you do most of your daily prayers. I'm not saying you can't pray elsewhere; your inevitable goal is to be able to pray all day in all places. I do that. It is so easy once you have ingrained that relationship inside your heart and soul. I whisper prayers all day, saying "Thank You Jesus" and "Protect me Lord", "Show me the way Jesus", "It's in your hands my Lord", "Mother Mary, please guide my heart closer to you Son." I speak so much to our Lord throughout the day, that if I were publish ALL the words I say when I am alone with my Lord. Someone might think, who is he talking to, he acts like the person he is talking to is sitting right next to him. And I have to agree, I do feel like Jesus is here with me personally everyday.

Why prayer? Is it that important? Does the bible have much to say about prayer? and a prayer life? It is through our prayers that we draw ourselves ever so close to our Lord.

"But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:6

""Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." Matthew 26:41

"Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed." Mark 1:35

"They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers." Acts 1:14

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I could go on and on for pages. There are over 365 references throughout the bible in regards to "prayer". Jesus was very serious about prayer, His example alone with how much He prayed throughout scripture is so encouraging. Please if we get anything out of today's blog; it's our connection to God's hand in our life, and the best way to see God's hand, is by first speaking with Him everyday. Open your life up and allow Him in, He has so much to give you, but you need to be open to Him. Always pray, "Jesus, I trust in You" He will always be there for you.

Glorious Walk - 1/5

Hello Everyone,

Today we begin a whole new journey, let us see how the Glorious Mysteries have a certain special way of touching our lives. The first Glorious Mystery - The Resurrection. A truly most spectacular mystery we celebrate at the top of our lungs and on our feet. Praise Jesus, He has risen. We can see in scripture how Mary, John and a couple of others stayed at the foot of Jesus' cross as He died. Many weren't fully convinced yet of His soon to be resurrection. We know His Mother stayed there and held Him when He was brought down from the cross. I think it would be correct to say that Mary knew at the time of His death, that this wasn't over yet; in fact it is just beginning. Just think of the relationship of a mother and her son. There is a very special bond, one of trust, love and shared knowledge that can be endless, and unique to those two. Yes a man has a wonderful solid relationship with his dad, but it's on a man to man bases that is uniquely solid; in that a young man looks up to His dad to be like His dad. A wonderful example of being a good husband and a good father, and friend.

So today's reflection on this most joyful, glorious mystery will be the joy and celebration of a healing. We can all most certainly relate to this. Many of us either know or know of someone suffering horribly with a disease, cancer, or some illness that is really beating up that person. We also know of many people who have illnesses that come and go; bronchitis, flu, virus, etc. In both of these situations a healing is possible, in the latter of them those sicknesses are most certainly heal-able. The prior ones are up in the air, but on many occasions we know, or know of people who have beat the odds and were healed from a horrible illness when indeed they may have even been on their death bed. God's will for each of us, to some degree is unknown; but I believe instilled in each of us, is the direction at minimal that our Lord is sending us; and then along the way, little by little we are given signs and insights to keep us on track.

Back to that special relationship between a mother and her son. Look at how close Jesus and Mary were. We can see how the Holy Spirit was such an incredible part of their relationship. Jesus knew His mission, He knew why He was here. He knew that He had to die in order to save the world for all the sins we have committed. And we knew that Mary would be there with Him and for Him through it all. We can confidently say that Mary's involvement and direct contact with Jesus must have been tremendous. I think it would be safe to say that Mary didn't belong to the PTA, I'm pretty she go to a tanning salon everyday. And chances are she didn't belong to a bowling team. LOL. Not there is anything wrong with any of those activities, but considering the time in history all this took place, family time together was on top of the list.

Let us consider the relationships we have, and the support networks that we have in our families and in our friendships. Just amongst us (facebook, myspace and friends in general) look how entwined in prayer and concern and desire to help one another alone we are. This is a wonderful time for a celebration amongst our friends indeed. I feel so blessed that so many of us are now even closer to each other, more than ever before, and it has been the result mostly of two factors. One being there for the illness of one of our own from many of our families, and two a common bond and love for Jesus that has most certainly bonded all us in ways the world will never ever understand. Let us take this time to further solidify what friendships we have, and in that let us not forget all our family members, our extended family of cousins and aunts and uncles. Try to take the time to reconnect; say hello; drop a note that you were thinking of them, praying for them. Rebuild those relationships that may seem like they have gone stale. Let us be the ones to make the first move and step closer. Have fun. And if you are unsure, just pray: "Jesus, I trust in You."

Love The Lord Your God

Hello Everybody,

I hope it’s not just me, but I really love Jesus’ words in today’s gospel. “And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets." Matthew 22:37-40, honestly that is most of today’s reading. Today we are reflecting upon Matthew 22:34-40 (Questioning, The Greatest Commandment of All). You know for the most part, the Pharisees aren’t always spoken of in the best light when the bible speaks of them, mostly because they were hypocrites in much of what they were saying. But I didn’t bring them up for that reason; rather I’d like us to reflect one really wonderful part of who they were in our biblical history. Yes they were prideful in that they spent their entire life studying and the Law of Moses, and their precepts, and a whole bunch of writings written by rabbis of their time. Honestly staying away from the “pride” thing that is awesome. I really like that part of who they were. As do I personally love and respect our Jewish sisters and brothers; so many of them really live by their faith and they live their lives in such a way, that their choices are based on their faith. I have been sharing that with Chrissy and a few others these past twenty five years. When I say all of this I can’t help but think of this, “Our Life’s Purpose”... Does that make sense? We all should be focused on why we are here, and how can we be best prepared for eternity.

How we live our lives here on this earth, will direct us to where we will and shall spend eternity. So knowing and understanding that, will help us know who we are in Christ, and that makes all the difference in the world for us. I will stand on my soap box and preach more about living a life solely devoted to Jesus, but before I do that, check out this quote that really focuses on today’s gospel.

“Therefore the first commandment teaches every kind of godliness. For to love God with the whole heart is the cause of every good. The second commandment includes the righteous acts we do toward other people. The first commandment prepares the way for the second and in turn is established by the second. For the person who is grounded in the love of God clearly also loves his neighbor in all things himself. The kind of person who fulfills these two commandments experiences all the commandments."
~Cyril of Alexandria

Let’s face it, the more we know something or someone, the more we will like or even love it. With Jesus and our Blessed Mother for me, life is perfect. Yes like most of us, we as a family have our share of challenges, disappointments, impossibilities, etc. And yes we have in our lives at times difficult people that surround us. But know that with even all that said, at least for me; having a life saturated with Jesus and our Blessed Mother and the Rosary couldn’t be more perfect. I find no serious interest in virtually anything other than my Lord and His Mom through the Rosary. And with that as my foundation, it draws me to the Word, and Mass, and Eucharistic Adoration, The Stations of The Cross devotion, and so much more.

I invite everyone to empty their lives of all that is meaningless (by meaningless I mean anything that totally consumes you and serves no eternal purpose); and focus more than ever on Jesus, either in personal prayer time, daily Mass, the Rosary, Stations of The Cross, whatever you maybe be particularly drawn to, or that draws you closer to Jesus. I am engulfed and I know sometimes it’s been overkill with my own personal choices and desire to stay fully focused on Jesus through the Rosary in my life. But just to set the record straight, I love it!!!! And I wouldn’t live my life any other way…

“Jesus, I trust in You.”

Sorrowful Walk - 5/5

Hello Everyone,

Today is most certainly thee hardest day of all to reflect upon this week. Today we put all our reflections on the fifth Sorrowful Mystery - The Crucifixion. When we look upon this mystery what do we see? Maybe the sudden death of a young one in our family?, the slow agony and suffering leading up to a death of someone we know?, an act of violence or anger causing someones death?, or is it, being helpless while watching someone else slowly die? No matter which one of these or any similar to these you can plainly see where I am going with all this. One thing is certain about this Passion of the Cross that Jesus endured; Mary, His Mother, certainly as a mother would and could, suffered this entire journey with Him. That is why her intercession is so important for us, above all others in this human life, there was no other as close to Jesus as she was. This is why we must unite our prayers to her so that through her intercession to her Son; we will know that she is the one who is closest to His ear. Jesus has given her to us, a gift of a Mother. Remember at the cross, Jesus told John and Mary, "When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home." John 19:26-27. Just as we take her into our homes.

Death is a part of life. If life and death were the alphabet, A would be our birth and Z would be our death. The length of time and the events in between are what are in God's will for each of us. I know I say this all the time, but I'd like to be clear, "Do not fear death." Personally I have no fear of death, I am not morbid or suicidal. LOL. I embrace the very doorway that will lead me to my Lord. When it's time, or if some catastrophic even occurs and I see my death coming. I will embrace my last moments looking forward to my own personal chance to be standing before God. I am not an angel by no means, oh my, I am a horrible sinner. But I know that we will not enter Heaven because we are "good", or we saved someones life, or we put money in the basket at Mass. No, we will be able to enter into Heaven, because Jesus paid the price of our sins with His blood. What we need to do, is live a life that shows God that, He and His Son are the first most important part of who we are, and that we did our best to be presentable to Him.

Obviously God will make the final call. My words aren't etched in stone. I am just a messenger. We all need to be messengers, spreading God's love to everyone, praying for everyone and by living a life that is pleasing to God; and live that life in such a way that when people see you, they see Jesus. When someone is suffering, don't be the care-giver per say, rather be the medication. What I am saying is, don't be the one looking for recognition, but rather be the instrument that help provide healing. No one says, speaking of the medication, "Wow, that medicine was spectacular, he/she really did a great job." No, instead we give praise to the one who cared for us, or gave us the medication that helped us. Yes those who help the needy deserve every bit of praise and then some, what I say is, let Jesus/God praise your kindness, not people. Now you see where I am coming from. It's a fine line, a place where we all need to be. A wonderful, special, precious dear friend, used these words when I asked her how did she know?, she said, "The shadows know." Very insightful indeed.

Can we embrace this cross, not only the one we carry, but also the one we will die upon. Of cause we won't be crucified like Jesus. But our cross, our addiction, our bad habits, may indeed be that which kills us. Also God's plan may involve us to suffer so that by our suffering we draw others closer to Him. That's the way I see it with Chrissy right now. So many people around the entire planet have contacted us personally, and they are praying in union together for Chrissy, what a blessing. We have friends throughout the US, Canada, Brazil, Africa, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and more. This is so exciting, God fearing, God loving people uniting together in prayer. We must always pray, pray in thanksgiving, pray in joyful times, pray in luminous times, pray in all the sorrowful times with thanksgiving, and always pray in the glorious times. God alone is the only one we are accountable to. We must lead a life that leads us to Him. The only path we should be spending anytime on everyday. Always pray, "Jesus, I trust in You."

Sorrowful Walk - 4/5

Hello Everyone,

Today is a day we can all relate to, for today we look upon the fourth Sorrowful Mystery - The Carrying of The Cross. A cross, a burden, an addiction, a challenge, something we all face in our life everyday. Something sometimes we have control of, others times we have no control of, either way, still a cross to bear. Let us see how Jesus dealt with His cross, a cross that did eventually crush and kill Him. A cross that he needed help carrying on His journey to Calvary. A cross that weighed the full weight of all the sins of the entire world. A cross that He defeated after it crushed and killed Him. A cross we can never understand how one man could bear, unless we fully understand that that man was indeed God's Son. A cross His blood was shed all over it. A cross that the Son of God died upon. A cross our dear precious Blessed Mother sat at the foot of seeing her Son die upon. A cross they lowered the dead lifeless body from and into His Mothers arms. A cross, truly simply two pieces of wood united by a rope or nails in the center; a binding that unites the two that took the one Son of God. A cross we must each bear in order that we to may unite with Him.

We all bear burdens, some of us share them and beg for help to manage them; while others embrace their crosses with their bloody hands and utter not a word to anyone. Yet that person offers all they have to others suffering, a most precious, selfless way to offer such love and faith to a most Holy God. I know all of us must know of such people. These are the living saints among us. We must pray that all those suffering in silence be embraced and loved dearly by our Lord. That they may eternally rest in the arms of a loving, strong, bold, humble, merciful Lord. Today we need to look at the burdens we bare, see what they have done to us. Are we allowing them to destroy us? Are we gaining strength by the continual weight of them on our shoulders? or Are we losing our balance and falling further into the sins of our life and allowing the trickery of the evil one to destroy us? Are we victims of the crosses we bare, or are we building strength through our faith in Jesus to be victors in the end?

Never stand in judgment against others, saying that their cross is all about themselves and their addictions; when indeed these crosses are the burdens we all suffer on the outside while our spirit within is not the same. Instead of judgment, as God's children let us offer prayer and emotional and spiritual support, helping them become stronger in their own personal fight against the weight of the cross they must endure. It is through our love for one another and our devotion to our Lord, that we all shall overcome the burdens and addictions we find to be the hardest to bare. We were never intended to live this life alone, or without the help of others. God made us not only for us to love Him, but for us to love one another. Love goes beyond the words, and must be seen in the actions, generosity and assistance in helping one another with each others burdens. Some burdens are physical, some are emotional, some are financial, some of unbearable without someones help. No matter, it is a most joyful when you share others burdens and when you receive the help of others while you carry the ones you have.

Today I say, take on the challenge and look away from your own cross, look away from your own burdens, look away from that which has taken and consumed you in your life. And now fully focus on helping someone else, someone you know needs help, in whatever capacity you can help. Maybe it's a hug of reassurance that you are there for them. Maybe it's a smile, and an ear because they need someone to listen to them, someone to understand that they are hurting. Maybe its a family you know you can help in the quiet of the shadows, making their burdens lighter. Maybe it's a dad or a mom who is alone no longer with a spouse; struggling with raising their kids, maybe they need a little help with baby sitting, or shopping, someone to show them that they understand their challenges. Step out in faith, look towards Jesus not them, and ask Him for the words and the gifts of yourself that you can share with them. God will guide your heart, know and trust the direction Jesus will send you to do these things. Pray, "Jesus, I trust in You."

Sorrowful Walk - 3/5

Hello Everyone,

This is the one day we all dread. The day we look at the third Sorrowful Mystery - The Crowing with Thorns. Today let us see how we in our lives experience that which our Lord had to experience. Public humiliation unlike anything we could possibly imagine, is what today is all about. No one deserves to be treated like this, why were they so cruel and so mean to my Lord? How would we feel being humiliated before everyone in our community, spit upon, accused of all sorts of things we know we didn't do? Jesus took all that for all our sins. Scripture again didn't place His mother at this scene. But I find it very hard to believe otherwise. I know I keep referring the movie The Passion, but I really feel that was probably the closest to the reality of what Jesus suffered along with how involved His mother really was. Our heart knows He suffered horribly for our sins. That is why we must seriously give our life, our heart and our every thought to Him.

Jesus sacrificed everything He was, everything He had, every breathe He was breathing for us. And in the process of His horrific murder on a cross, He was humiliated, and disgraced. Are we willing to put our faith and our pride out on our sleeve, and risk being humiliated? I would hope and pray that you are bold enough in your own personal relationship with Jesus; that you never place your own ego or pride before Jesus. You do realize that even if you associate yourself with someone who has been humiliated and disgraced, for whatever reason you become linked to them and you even suffer with them at times. Why do you think the disciples ran away from Jesus and didn't want to be associated with Him, when He was condemned and humiliated? Obviously they didn't stay away from their association with Him, eventually they represented Jesus and most of them suffered horribly also. When Jesus asked us to follow Him, He has basically asked us to die to be with Him. When we die to self, it includes our pride, and most importantly our own defending of ourselves. We must not fear humiliation, especially when our humiliation is in the Lord.

Being humble will be our first step in dealing with humiliation. There is no place for pride in our walk with Jesus. Being bold in our faith and our love for Him, isn't pride; think of it more like your conviction. And in your conviction you dearly love Jesus for the love He has given us first in His death for our sins. He died so that we (all of us) might live eternally with Him. Why would anyone care about what someone else thought of you when your humility is in the Christ, Jesus who gave of His life to save yours? If someone wants to criticize you or make fun of you, maybe because you make the sign of the cross when passing a church; or you say a prayer at meal time, no matter where you are; or you openly acknowledge Jesus and thank Him in public; or you freely share your love and devotion to Him and His most precious Mother. Being so bold and being so solid in your faith and your belief isn't arrogance, please don't make this sound like you must be stuck up. That's not what I am saying here. What this is all about is your life in Christ, and your true life's purpose and what your life is for: His service to draw others to Him.

BE BOLD.. Yes you will be humiliated at times. Some might openly make a joke out of your actions, or a statement you make in defense of your love and devotion to our Lord. So be it. Smile and tell them you are praying for them. I've been punched around verbally many times these past 27 years of my faith-filled life. Sometimes I get outright defensive and yell louder than my offender. Then I retract and realize, I need to be more like Jesus, silent in prayer, knowing in Christ I am made strong in my love and belief in Him. We must remember, "They will know we are Christians by our love." Not our anger and defensiveness. Though I admit, when someone attacks my faith, my Lord or His Mother, I do not like to just take it. My immediate response is, HOW DARE YOU. I don't say that, but wow, do I think it. Try to be humble, take the punches, show others, that we are not offended, but we understand that they clearly don't understand. So we must pray for them, and allow the Lord to work His will through us for them. Plant the seeds of peace, hope and joy. In time they will grow, our patience and love will eventually penetrate the hearts of the unfaithful. Always pray to yourself in these situations, "Jesus, I trust in You."

Sorrowful Walk - 2/5

Hello Everyone,

For those of us who walk that hard narrow path of faith, we have been at this mystery many times. Today let us reflect upon the second Sorrowful Mystery - The Scourging at The Pillar. And if it's anything like the way it was portrayed in the movie The Passion, then you indeed are a saint. How many of us have been rejected, hated, and know that someone out there wants us destroyed? We are very fortunate in this lifetime and in our country, at least as of now; of having no fear that we are targets per say for others looking to kill us. Our freedoms protect our choices and desires to be followers of Christ. But what must it have been like to have others wanting to be so cruel to you (Jesus), that until you have been crucified they were not satisfied? Our Lord endured a tremendous amount of hatred, especially as we ponder through the sorrowful mysteries. I know at times, I do get some of the most hateful, mean looks from people when I openly admit and share my love for my Lord. And oh my, how much more hatred and anger I ensue when I say that I adore our Blessed Mother. Who would have ever thought this could be like this 27 years ago (when I gave my heart to my Lord)?

To the best of our knowledge and at least in scripture, it appears that our Blessed Mother wasn't at the scourging. We can't prove that indeed she wasn't, but what if she was? Maybe Mel Gibson's rendition of her presence in the movie The Passion was true. Or maybe it's a half truth and maybe she was there for part of it, or at the end of it. I can't imagine what it would have been like to witness the beating torture of your own son. Maybe indeed she was shielded from witnessing such a horrible act of hatred. But then on the flip side, maybe it was her witness that has made her such a stronger, more vibrant part of her Son's glory. The fact is that we really don't know. But what we do know is that this cruelty leads up to a violent, cruel death upon a cross. Can we be strong enough in our faith that we are willing to sacrifice our ego and our reputation, and because of our faith, and even be labeled a "Jesus Freak"? I hope you have said yes. I can't help but reiterate over and over again in my blog, keep Jesus first in your lives. Above, beyond and before anyone else.

I invite all of you to delight, rejoice and celebrate in your own misery if indeed you are a frequent target. Cruelty isn't always a bloodshed event. Sometimes cruelty is someones self esteem being shattered, or being treated with a mean spirit by someone else, or even just being shut out by those we love. Cruelty cuts to the heart and touches our nerves first. How tough is your outer skin? Can it with stand an earthquake of violence shifted your way? Many will admit, no. I believe we must really dig down deep and find that safe strong place within us, and encourage ourselves to continue no matter what is being said or how we are being treated. I know I always say I would die for my Lord. But of cause that would need to be tested to see where my heart really is. I know I am not influenced by worldly thinking or hatred towards my faith. If people hate me or so desire to be against me, so be it. No offense to them, but quit honestly I don't really care that they don't like me. They apparently have issues, not me.

When we look upon the Scourging what do we see? Do we see Roman soldiers under the authority of Pilate; who was blackmailed by the Jewish leaders to kill Jesus? or do we see a man well deserving of His torture? Or instead on an out of the box thought; do we see a man being beaten almost to death for the sins that you and I have committed in offense to Him? Pilate had no courage for the right things. He was mean and he has even been called ruthless. And he knew in his heart that Jesus was innocent and undeserving of crucifixion, and he did nothing to defend Him. Yet in his weakness and lack of a strong backbone for what was good, he had Jesus crucified to protect his own reputation and his job. A political move of sorts, kind of what we see in our own government at times. Sad how some people protect themselves first before they protect the very people they were chosen to represent. Pilate's move of political correctness cost him his reputation for all eternity. His family and his name are forever remembered as, "For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried." from the Nicene Creed.

Sorrowful Walk - 1/5

Hello Everyone,

This week we are going to take a long hard look at the Sorrowful Mysteries. Let us see how each of us in our own lives experience different aspects of each of these mysteries. The Rosary is a prayer that is all based on scripture; and if we really take the time, like we have been through these mysteries, we can seriously see how they come to life in our own lives. In today's reflection, we are looking upon the first Sorrowful Mystery - The Agony in The Garden. This one is so relate-able to so many of us. Just look at it this way: long nights of overwhelming fears and worries and at times even doubt of its outcome. That sums up my last couple weeks, and I know personally a few of you who also experience that on a personal level with your own health concerns. And I ask myself: Where is Jesus' dear Blessed Mother on this last night before His condemnation? Did she not know her Son was in danger? Did Jesus keep this from her, to protect her from being in harms way of danger when He would be taken into custody? I just have so many thoughts surrounding this particular mystery.

A long night with a heavy heart, I just know we have all been at this point in our lives. So many can relate this to: sitting up with a sick child whose fever keeps rocking back and forth; and you monitor and watch it through the night in case it hits dangerous territory. I've been there. How about sitting with a parent, an aunt or an uncle, a niece or a nephew, or even a dear close good long time friend; taking the time to be the best bedside medic you can possibly be; telling them "I'm here for you, if you need anything, I am only an arms reach away." The agony on nights like this is indeed heart wrenching. I can so relate to wanting to help, but at times feel so helpless. But at the same time what a special blessing we have become for one another. And what about the test Jesus was given? Have we ever been there with a choice to make, and knowing the truth, we already knew the answer, yet we still questioned it, then we realized what we were thinking and then followed the right way through the challenge? Just a thought.

Jesus dealt with temptation just like you and I do. Obviously He had the ability and knowledge to sense and know it much better than we can; so in His rebuke and rejection He was strong against the temptation. A true night of "wills" fighting against one another. Do you ever feel that way in the middle of the night? Thinking that maybe you can do "something" and somehow God will see it as ok, if you can somehow make it Godly. Long nights of contemplation about a place you know you shouldn't go, a drug you know you shouldn't take. Allow Jesus to help keep you on track, to help keep you continually focused on Him. You do realize that that is indeed the entire answer and secret as to: How do we avoid, ignore and inevitably have nothing to do with sin when we know for a fact that "that" is sin. Again so many can relate, but in all different aspects of this thought. That particular place maybe fine for the average person; but you know for a fact that you are weak there and may fall into temptation. Do you then put yourself in harms way of sin? Of cause not, NO.

In this mystery, we like Jesus must rely on God's Word for the strength we will need to get through certain situations. Our wills and our faith will be tested our entire life. In the beginning as you start off loving Jesus and you will find out that your guard is down. We have to know how to hold our own feet to the fire, and to be prepared in case of alterations; we must make sure to some degree we will do our best to avoid it. The Holy Spirit is the best helper for us. Trust in God's choice when He placed in each of us a Spirit, the Spirit of Truth that will guide us ever so much closer to our Lord and ever further away from sins and our weaknesses. Pretty interesting concept, but a truth we can learn by and gain by. This has been a fun walk. Sometimes we can find the positiveness and joy even in sorrow.

Render What? To Who?
©2011 James Dacey, Jr. SFO

Hello Everybody,

That’s a rather interesting and insightful title for today’s reflection. Jesus is very eloquent in His words and how He conveys something to us. I absolutely love this verse in today’s gospel, said by Jesus, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." That deserves an “AMEN” Today’s gospel can be found in Matthew 22:15-21 (Question About Paying Taxes) There are many people in today’s world, who are very attached to the things of this world. That is very sad, they lose sight of our life’s purpose and they completely have no clue about who Jesus is and should be in their own lives. All things in this life are a gift to us, nothing is actually our own, (stay with me for a moment), we come into this life with nothing, only our soul and spirit, and while we are here, we get educated and learn more and more about the things that are around us, and then we further we learn about who God is. During our entire life, we work and earn an income to attain the things we need to live with (food, housing, etc.) after that period of time, God calls us to Himself (we die), upon our exit, there is nothing that can come with us, except that which we came into this life with; our soul and our spirit. Yes, we have our relationships, our experiences, our knowledge, etc., all of that has no material value. Who we are within is who we shall remain to be, but nothing we hold or physically attain can take this journey to the Father with us.

Hopefully the end of that paragraph made some sense. Our life absolutely has more meaning then just the things we have; our life is so much more about who we are and what we believe in. Taking a look at Jesus’ question prior to the verse I shared earlier, Jesus asked, "Whose likeness and inscription is this?" That question should be directed to each of in regards to who we are. In other words, “Whose likeness and inscription do we represent?” Ah, see now that makes us think. When we look at ourselves, when God looks at us, when others see us; who is it that they are seeing in our representation? In today’s gospel, Caesar is the government, the world… And that which is of it, shall remain to it. So if we say we are God’s children and that we love Him; whose likeness and inscription should we reflect? God’s of cause.

Everything we possess belongs to God, everything! Living our life for He who has died to save ours, is truly the most blessed way to live. So let us “Render to God, the things that are God’s.” My own suggestion and choice of life is this: Empty your life of everything that keeps your focus away from Jesus; never be so consumed by anything or anyone, that you discard Jesus, or even place Him second. Jesus must be first in all things: Our thinking, our planning, our personal desires, our wants and our needs; there is such an incredible Joy living like this. Empting ourselves of everything that doesn’t have Jesus’ likeness or inscription is a most wonderful way to live this life. To me it’s Jesus 24/7/365.

Luminous Walk - 3/5

Hello Everyone,

A most joyful, special most incredible mystery for us to reflect upon. Today let us look upon the third Luminous Mystery - Proclaiming the Kingdom. Today the building of and the start of our Lord's Kingdom shall begin. God's Kingdom is built on love, mercy, compassion, and so many other wonderful attributes. It is absolutely incredible how God chooses individuals to represent Him, all are included, and all are chosen. God does not pick people because of their education or even their deep of faith. God chooses you long before you can or ever would choose Him. How many people do you know that surprise you by the depths of their faith? How many people do you know have so much courage and faith that they become spiritual heroes in your life? Our lives are surrounded by saints, and people who would give up their lives to save another. How is it that we don't always find it easy to locate these people? Too bad there wasn't like a directory or an easy way to do a simple goggle search. I believe God places people in our lives and on our path so that we can through them, find God and be even closer to Jesus.

This mystery will help inspire us to be that person in someone’s life. The person with the gentle spirit, the caring words, the mercy and gentleness we know and believe comes from God and works through them. There is no magic formula or some simple list of things to do to be that person. I believe the only way we can be that way; is by allowing God to work will in us and through us in our lives. If I say, don't eat something because it's bad for you, and yet I eat it all the time; is not the example of how someone lives their life more expressive to you than words? Isn't what I do, speaking far more loudly than the words I speak? Take a good hard look around you; there are many people in your lives, many who love Jesus with all their hearts, many who would die saving you. Trust the Holy Spirit that is within you to guide your spirit to those special people. I am very fortunate to have my life surrounded by so many very Godly people, so many people who sincerely love and adore my Lord. In fact many of you reading this are those people. It has been these past couple of decades in my life that have made my life so special by the example many of you live. It's been said, "Watch what people say and do, because you never know who is watching you." That statement couldn't be any truer.

So we are looking for heroes. LOL. I bet we are going to find out that such people really exist, and far more than we ever thought possible. As you begin your search I want you to consider some of the following people that may fit into this category. You realize such people aren't always Kings and Queens of nations, nor are they most likely anyone who is in the public eye at all. Rather such people live and work and shop side by side with us every day. Consider thinking about the single mom who lives next door, raising her two kids all on her own, holding down a job that can barely pay any bills. Yet in her unselfishness and in her devoted love for her children she forges forward never complaining or even seeking help. She is truly a hero for us to admire and gain hope from. And what about the young man suffering with cancer, he has been suffering for years, in and out of the hospital receiving treatments, he has no hair, but you thought it was a statement thing, when actually it was a chemo thing. This young man has dreams of marrying his high school sweetheart as he struggles, yet he never complains. He is a true hero indeed. These types of heroes are all around us.

God's asks all of us to follow Him. This Kingdom Jesus speaks of isn't made with mortar or brick. There are no stages, no bright lights, no "all the kings horses and all the kings men". Opps that's humpty dumpty, how did that get in there. Sorry. This Kingdom is God's Kingdom, the greatest Kingdom in all of the universe. The very place where all who follow Jesus shall be united. Today is a wonderful day, a joyous most spectacular day. Simply allow Jesus to be the most significant part of your life and have your life be fully consumed of only thinking about Him. I get goofy only because the amount of Joy and Love and excitement in my heart for Jesus is overflowing, literally endlessly overflowing. In the past I have described it like this: Get an empty 8 oz glass, and then get an endless pitcher of water and pour all that endless water into that 8 oz glass. What happens? For all eternity the cup will always be full and always overflowing. So matter how much water is given away, I never ever run out of water. Praise Jesus.

Luminous Walk - 2/5

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday was a powerful message indeed; I think I could write a whole week about yesterday's mystery alone. Today we look at the second Luminous Mystery - The Wedding Feast of Cana. What a blessing that Jesus should have His first miracle under the encouragement of His mother. A mother's heart knows her child; she knows when her children are ready for challenges and the future that lies ahead. Mary knew it was time for her Son to begin to show and share the power He has within Himself. So many miracles we see throughout our lives are a direct answer to intercessory prayer. How many people do we know including me that live in the constant prayer of hope and miracles? I'll bet if we all take a moment and look at all our friendships and family; we will find so many for so many different reasons praying for a miracle. Mary's intercession as is the intercession of our own mothers is so important for us in our lives. A mother's love will be something to reflect upon today, along with the desire and want for a miracle.

When we are asking for a miracle, are we being selfish, or do we want what we want, no matter what? I don't think so. Seems like most of the time when miracles are begged for before God, so many of them have to do with the healing of someone’s health. Is it so selfish to ask for someone’s good health? Of cause not, but we must realize that God's purpose and God's will have nothing to do with our own, or anybody else's physical health. Our Lord seeks our spiritual wellness and our eternal future. We must allow Him to use our lives and even our bodies to help further His will in our lives and the lives of those around us to draw others to Himself. Let's look at something Jesus himself said about sickness and its purpose in our lives, "When he heard this, Jesus said, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it." John 11:4. That is the purpose of all the suffering we must endure, to glorify God. Our suffering though it may seem personal, it's not; it is rather for us to be open to God's will in our lives. We must be patient and trusting in whatever it is God's purpose is in our suffering.

Sometimes it is through suffering that relationships receive healing. Sometimes it is through suffering that many have their lives brought back full circle to the reality of what life truly is about. A miracle, miracles, miracles, is that all we want? Or do we want a winning lottery ticket, a surprise raise; a wallet full of cash with no ID and no one claims it so it's yours to keep? I wonder what it is so many of us are really praying for in the depths of our own hearts when we are begging God for a miracle. God knows our heart, it is He who knows our intentions, our ulterior motives, He is the one who knows why a certain path has been set before us. Sometimes we look ahead at our lives and we say to ourselves, "No, I'd rather be rich and successful in my life." Sometimes we want what we want. But honestly who are we to say what it is we want. Is not God our Father, our creator, our Lord? Doesn't He know what we need and when we need it? In Matthew's gospel before our Lord taught us the Lord's Prayer, He said this, "Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him." Matthew 6:8.

Now through all of these thoughts and reflections we look back again at the mystery and what do we find? A mother devoted and confident in her Sons power and ability to help others. And what did He help others in achieving? A miracle of cause, one that would not leave this young couple in disgrace before their guests. A simple miracle, not one that saved any ones life, nor fix any ones health. No but one that secured the dignity of a couple on their first day of marriage, a most blessed sacrament. A very honorable reason for such a miracle. The very wine that Jesus had changed the water from, to be shared with all at the wedding feast; is a wonderful parallel to the very blood that Jesus shed for all the world. Miracles come in all different forms, isn't it comforting knowing that so many people are praying for you. So many intercessory prayers are prayed for so many reasons. Mary our Blessed Mother has shown us that intercessory prayers are important in our journey following Jesus. Please open your heart and mind and know that everything in our lives happen for a reason. Pray, "Jesus, I trust in you."

Luminous Walk - 1/5

Hello Everyone,

Yet another fantastic week has begun, and a new journey is about to begin today. This week we will reflect on how the Luminous Mysteries are also part of our lives, and how we live them just as Jesus and His Blessed Mother, and Joseph did. Today we begin with the First Luminous Mystery - The Baptism of Jesus. So many of us are parents, but all of us have been children. Being a parent involves so much sacrifice, sacrifice that means your kids and your spouse must always come first. Our blessed Mother and Joseph sacrificed all that they would have desired knowing that they must give all they had in raising Jesus. He was not only their Son; but He was God's Son. Mary and Joseph both knew that God had His hand in their lives and that they had to follow through with God's will. Think about parents who have special needs children, what an absolute blessing that is. Many people think that children are a lot of work and having only one or two children is more than enough. I even have some close friends at work who say they wouldn't ever want a child that has special medical attention their entire life. This baptism has me thinking so much about all of our responsibilities as parents.

Parents through their love for one another and God's will, give birth to children. The child did not chose life, but God gave them life by His will and their parents love for one another. Think of your own children or your nieces and nephews or even siblings or cousins. Basically just look around and see all the families in our world. Who cares for all these children? Who makes sure they are eating correctly? Who is concerned about their education? The parents of cause. We must trust God with our lives, our abilities and our choices in doing all we can to take care of the gift in our children that He has given us. We have been entrusted with their precious souls and we must do all we can to protect them and be there for them. This mystery has us focus on the immediate desire and need to take care of our children, no matter what the sacrifice. Over the past two to three years special needs children have been brought into the light by some political people. I refuse to make any blog to be about politics, but I think many of you know what I am talking about. How precious and how blessed are those who have the gift of raising such a wonderful child of God. We all receive what God knows we can handle, God has a purpose in all of all lives for all that happens to us.

Back twenty four years ago when Chrissy and I got married and we started a family we made a pack. We always said that no matter what, we will never ever abort or discard any of our children, period. We did lose our very first child due to a miscarriage, it devastated us, to this day I think about Cory. After that we have been blessed with five super wonderful kids. We didn't care what the tests showed throughout the pregnancies, we didn't care if the doctors said we were going to have a special needs or medically challenged child. None of that mattered. We knew that if it was to be in God's will, we would be blessed in our lives to take care of that child God has given us. How can anyone think differently? What if you have a child born completely health and then as a teenager they are permanently paralyzed and need constant care for the rest of their lives. What do you do discard them for the inconvenience and the expenses? Good God, NO!!! So in every child's birth we to must be there for them no matter what. People this world we live in are very selfish. I have a dear friend, who lives in Niagara Falls, he and his wife have a son who needs constant care and medical attention. They are forever bringing him to doctors and the hospital for treatments. Their son is 47 years old. They told me, he was born this way and the doctors told them during the pregnancy if they wished to terminate the baby to avoid all future costs and inconveniences they could help. They also said the child will suffer, so termination is a good idea. OMG!!!! Praise Jesus they did not do that. He told me he told the hospital they were offended by their suggestion to kill their child.

The world we live in can be cruel, especially to the needy or the suffering. We as believers must stand up for them and protect them. Sometimes we are the only ones their standing strong for them. My friends son is such a blessing to everyone. In the past my friend use to always say he hates how people use children like his son to exploit them. I don't ever have that intention; I only wish to share their love for their son, so that's why I am not mentioning their names out of respect. But on another note my dear friend Jack's son is in the same situation of medical and special needs with his son John who is older than me. And he and his wife Betty adore their son John. There are many many children in this world who have the most wonderful loving parents who don't care what it'll take to be there for their children no matter what is required. I beg of all of you out there reading my blog; if you know someone thinking about terminating a child because they have medical needs, and they don't want to be inconvenienced with expenses and everything; or they think the child will suffer too much. Ask them to consider letting God decide on the fate of the child, and do not abort their innocent baby out of selfishness. God's purpose and will in their lives can only happen if we let them. God will provide what they will need and many people will be there to help. We all have heard stories about children born with major medical needs who only lived a few days or weeks. But in meantime, the blessings and love and tears, all served a precious purpose. We don't have to understand it to accept it, we just have to be open and ready for what it is God wants us to do in serving Him.

Accept Jesus Christ and Live

Hello Everybody,

Yes we are in the Month of the Rosary, but today’s gospel is a parable. <smile> I really enjoy sharing reflections and insights when it comes to parables. Jesus just knew a portion of His followers would be very excited every time they had a chance to share, learn about or even read a parable. Today’s gospel can be found in Matthew 22:1-14 (The Parable of The Wedding Feast). The gist of today’s parable to my understanding is this, the “King” is “God” and God is calling His people to Himself; it’s a two-fold request, first He invites His people, the Jews and they refuse, so then by God’s grace He extends His invitation out to all others (good and bad). In both incidents those invited were more interested in their own affairs, rather than an invitation from our Lord. The unfortunate reality we must all realize is this: Anyone who really refuses to accept Jesus when they are called will certainly die in their own sins. But on a much better note, all those who chose to receive Jesus become His choice guests and there will be a place for them in His house.

Today’s reflection is all about obeying and accepting the rules of someone else’s home; and in today’s gospel we are talking about God’s house, His rules, Hi Laws, Hi commandments. We all grew up in a home (our parents’ home) where they laid down rules that were part of living there. And what happened if we refused to obey their rules, most of us got punished or the rules got tougher. No matter, there was a consequence for our disobedience. We are all sinners and we will remain to be, that is unfortunate, but a very true fact. I heard it said by Father Larry Richards, “If you think you can stop sinning, well then try it, you can’t.” Well with that said; then what can we do, and how do we get the right “garment” to wear at the Wedding Feast so that we are accepted into God’s home? Our confession and the garment of admittance that Jesus Christ is our Lord will allow us to stay at the banquet. Jesus died for us; He bought us for a price, putting Jesus over us as the garment which is living the gospel allows us to stay.

"Cheap grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves ...the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance ...grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate. ...Costly grace is the gospel which must be sought again and again, the gift which must be asked for, the door at which a man must knock. Such grace is costly because it calls us to follow Jesus Christ. It is costly because it costs a man his life, and it is grace because it gives a man the only true life." This was said by Dieterich Bonhoneffer, he was Christian teacher back in Hitler’s time, and he died for his faith. His reflection on Grace is really insightful, and I am glad I came across this quote from him to share with you. We don’t want cheap grace, we want the costly one; but we know the costly one will cost us our own life. Come on everybody, stop living for yourselves and your own selfishness, instead live your life eternally for Jesus. Give all you have… to spend all your time, all your thoughts, all your dreams focused on serving and loving Him. Don’t waste any of your time lost in the pointless desires of this world. God invites us to join Him, let us do all we can to be at that banquet with Him; nothing in this world is worth losing that. NOTHING!!! All is lost if you lose the one and only chance to be with Almighty God for all eternity.

Joyful Mysteries - Reflections

Joyful Mysteries - Reflections
©2011 James Dacey, Jr. SFO

Hello Everybody,

Today we pray the Joyful Mysteries, let us take a moment and reflect on the central (focus) on each mystery. We have been blessed with such a magnificent, celebrating reminder of the great, wonderful, blessed JOY that were part of our Lord’s childhood. Today we can pray on the Incarnation, as Jesus enters into this world to be with us, to save us. We are reminded again and again throughout the entire Rosary, that nothing is impossible with God.

The Joyful Mysteries

1. The Annunciation (Humility)
There are many times in our lives when we will experience “Annunciation” moments. Let us ask for God the grace to have an open ear and an open heart to His voice; and like Mary may we humbly say YES.

2. The Visitation (Charity)
We all have family and friends in our lives that need help, or someone to care for them, or someone who wishes another would reach out to them. How do we address that when we clearly know they are need?

3. The Nativity of Christ (Love of God)
Christmas is no doubt one of the most joyous times of the year, and to a believer Christmas is celebrated all year praising and worshipping our Lord. Do you celebrate Jesus being born into your heart today?

4. The Presentation (Purity)
When we have fully surrendered our hearts to our Lord, and chose Him above everything else, it is then that His presence and love will grow within. In your heart do you hold dreams of giving and serving our Lord in magnificent ways?

5. The Finding of the Christ Child in the Temple (Obedience)
Our lives should be spent searching for Him, we are all called by name by Him, our Spirit hear His voice, we must not stop seeking Him till we have found Him. Do you live a life consumed by seeking Him?

“Jesus, I trust in You.”

Joyful Walk - 5/5

Hello Everyone,

Well lookie here, its Friday already. This has been an absolutely fantastic week. Today we end this week’s reflection with the Fifth Joyful Mystery - Finding Jesus in the Temple. This experience had to a mix of both heart-breaking panic along with ecstatic joy for the holy family. And then for Jesus to tell His parents, that is doing His Fathers business. They must have been bewildered a bit; really not understanding to fullest of what He was talking about. Either way in the end they were filled with joy finding Him. Think about this mystery like this: You know someone with terminal illness, you notice they start to become introverted, you almost feel like you lost them before you have lost them. As the weeks progress, they start to come around, only to learn that they were seeking peace and understanding of where they would be going when their life would end. You also find out that all they were seeking was Jesus. They just want to make their lives right with Jesus. We as a community should be praying for those of us are deathly ill. They are looking a certain peace, in fear of the unknown. Let us help them in their walk, as they go before us.

Jesus Christ wants us to unite and be a community of believers looking out for one another, assuring one another of what is ahead. I believe when we find out about someone’s terminal illness, we have found out for a reason. Everything happens for a reason. This knowledge is like a blessing for those suffering to be ministered by fellow believers who care; and a blessing is there also for those assisting. More wisdom and love is gained when you are close to Heavens door with someone, then if you were nowhere near Heavens door. Did that make any sense to you? It did to me. See those of us who are nearer to death, are actually on the threshold of eternal life. So if you are right there with them, praying with them, ministering to them, and loving them, then you to unite with them spiritually as they prepare to stand before God. In this life I think that is the closest we come to Heavens door, while we still remain here. Consider ourselves a guide, praying with, helping and doing all we can to make this finally part of there journey one that helps them enter into the Kingdom of God.

Do we feel joy when we find someone we didn't know was seeking Jesus, who finds Jesus? How do we feel when we know someone is seeking Jesus? Do we rejoice with them? Do we act almost as excited as they do? I can remember when I was saved in 1983 and I found Jesus. All I did day and night was breathe, think, talk and rejoice over the treasure in Him that I have found. Well OK, to this day I somewhat pretty actually do the exact same thing. LOL. I can't help it, He brings so much joy into my life that I can't contain it. I have no fear of death, I have no fear of standing before Him. I am not an angel or a saint, but Jesus died for me, so that I may have eternal life. A price only He could pay. And He did it for all of us.

Give this a thought today. Look upon the elderly or those seriously ill, and see them as the ones who shall go before us. Then try to extend your joy and your love for our Lord to them, and by doing so, you are making that journey to our Lord so much more real for them. For the people in both those situations, we could say they are indeed contemplating their life, maybe their sins, maybe the pain they have given to others; either way I would say they are indeed thinking about the end. Some people fear death, thinking that God will be harsh on them for the life they have lived. At this most precious, minute to minute counting down of time; the judgment that lies ahead sends chills down many of those spins waiting, they are just steps away from the pearly gates. They to, we will lose sight of when they are gone, and hopefully we will find them in our Fathers house doing His business in Heaven.

Joyful Walk - 4/5

Hello Everyone,

This has been a fantastic week reflecting upon the Joyful Mysteries and how each mystery not only affected Jesus, Mary and Joseph; but also how do we fit into that experience. Today is the fourth Joyful Mystery - The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple. A most unique story surrounds this most special mystery. Let us consider Simeon and Anna, and the wisdom they certainly showed in awaiting for the arrival of their Messiah. No doubt in their old age, there must have been challenges; and what about the families who had to tend to them, as they waited with faith, hope and trust at the Temple. Another possible thing was the loneliness from time to time they most certainly had to have, while patiently, very insistently waiting. Can we be patient and steadfast knowing and trusting in God with the same faith? I don't know, that depends on so many variables. And you see I think that that is the problem with the society thinks today. Instead of having that unwavering, unquestionable faith to remain strong; we expect answers from God to be immediate and to our understanding that makes us stand apart from Simeon and Anna.

Dependency a very real element in this experience at the temple and in the lives of many of us. But can we take care of one another as we age with love, respect and true understanding of ones faith and trust in God? I think we can, and I am willing to say that many already do. Let us be like those who took care of Simeon and Anna. They understood to some degree that Simeon and Anna, both holy devout people who were rested in the Holy Spirit, were following the heart of God to see the baby Jesus. There is no way I would think that these two who remained in the temple, were their completely on their own, without any help. Someone I am sure made sure they got food, and they were able to wash and even keep some sort of clean or cleaner smelling clothes on. Do you see what I am getting at here. This mystery shares not only the glory and awesomeness of Jesus being presented at the Temple; but also the love and devotion and caring that took place behind the scenes for the devout. How can we be like that towards others? How simple is it really?

Love, Respect and a choice to help others keep their dignity. No doubt that Simeon was old, and Anna it's said to have been eighty-four years old. Yes I understand there are many spry energetic people at those ages and older. But considering the time of Jesus and the lack of living comfortably and stress-free, would only age anyone. They may have even been disabled, we don't know that for a fact. But what we do know is that they were able to remain in the temple praising God and waiting on the arrival of Jesus. Simeon knew that near his death would be when he would meet Jesus. His life was directed by the Holy Spirit, he allowed God to be the center of all things to him. Our family and friends that we know who are elderly who wish to continue worshiping God, going to Mass, being at Eucharistic adoration; we need to help them, willingly behind the scenes.

I challenge you to help someone, maybe go to a nursing home, and attend a Mass service there with a resident who really wants to go but can't or has too many challenges to go alone. Think of them as a Simeon or Anna when you spend time with them. Allow your heart to really care for them. You can also do this with maybe a neighbor, or someone you know who really wants to go to Mass but is unable to go. If you don't know anyone in this situation, ask around, ask friends if they have a relative who speaks about going to Mass but has no way of attending. You can minister to them by uniting them with Jesus and the Eucharist and at the same time have some really special fellowship. A new close brother or sister in the Lord. Like I brought my grandmother to be united with her husband at the cemetery in answer to her prayers; you to can answer the prayers of those seeking to be with Jesus.

Joyful Walk - 3/5

Hello Everyone,

What a special week of blogs. I want everyone to know how truly special the rosary really is. Today we reflect on the Third Joyful Mystery - The Birth of Jesus. How is it that mere strangers come from far and near in support of another? I think it's the grace of God and the love of God inside each of us that allow us; to find in our hearts the love we so much wish to share with another. I know to some degree we can relate to the Holy Family, and what they must have felt. Imagine giving birth to your own child in a manger. The humility of people watching you, the dirty area where animals were kept, the smell that must have been horrible. No doubt their trust in God, is what has given them the strength to have the humility to follow through His will. Now that we looked at the fairly obvious side of giving birth in a manger; let us look at those who surrounded them, supporting them and bringing them comfort. And the most incredible act of giving from the three kings.

You know I believe it's strangers who tend to give the most comfort and love. For they give out of love, and a certain kind of a desire to serve, they tend to not judgment guide their kindness. Did you ever consider the hunger, baby Jesus must have felt? I am sure Joseph and Mary had food, but I think it would be fair to say they didn't have cases of formula like so many us are able to attain in today's time. Do you think the doctors and nurses tended to them like they do to our families when we give birth to our children? Of cause not, they didn't have that luxury, they relied on trusting fully in God. How about the outreach by those around them must have been overwhelming. So many offering blankets and water, and fresh bread. There were so many that just understood what was going on and they wanted to help. Just being there and adoring their son and being supportive as a community was truly a special gift to the Holy Family.

So consider this: Kindness unlike any you may have ever experienced before, with a love that only embraces without any kind of judgment. Can we ever experience such a joy as that? Yes I believe we can and I believe we do. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we share a certain special bond that only Jesus can create between people. It is His love for us, that enables our love for others. Let's take that love to the next level and open our hearts and lives to one another, we can sort of adopt each other in a spiritual way. I know so many have already. Prayers and concern and down right unexpected acts of kindness that bring so much joy to one another. We are a strong solid body of believers who not only love God our Father; but we all for the most part have a most sincere genuine love for one another.

Let us take on the challenge of being kind to those we don't know, to those we know, who we know, need help in some way. Did that make sense? We all know people (not personally) that may have large families, endless bills they can't keep up with, empty cabinets with no food in them, and I bet many other needs I can't even begin to mention. Let us as God's children trust in His love to guide us. Maybe we need to go to a hospital, visit some lonely people there, and offer them love. We don't have to approach people with scripture or bibles or tracks. First start with a smile, actually that is something so many in this world never see. A real heart; full of love smiles. We need to be doers and trust in Jesus as we move forward helping others.

Joyful Walk - 2/5

Hello Everyone,

Yesterdays blog sure was powerful. I hope that today has the same cleansing feeling that helps draw you ever so much closer to our Lord. Today we reflect on the second Joyful Mystery - The Visitation. Once again Mary is giving of herself to others and their needs, beyond what we talked about yesterday, with all that she is carrying in her own cross. Mary is such an incredible example for us. Today as we reflect on the second Joyful Mystery, what are seeing here? Let me tell you what I see: I see a woman who is dealing with her own challenges, reaching out to another who is also in the midst of something she don't fully understand, and who is elderly. Today let us consider helping others who are in need of keeping their own dignity through challenging unexplainable times, both good and bad. And let us also look at the love and support network that Mary and Elizabeth were essentially starting. What an absolutely incredible example for us to follow, and we do follow that. It is so crucial that all of us unite in times of trials and challenges, not only to help one another through them, but to help one another beyond them.

What kind of companionship and comfort do those in need seek? That sometimes is the question that don't have an answer, and that creates an acceptable roadblock that stops so many of us from doing anything. I know our hearts want to, but without direction or ideas, or some simple formula, we stop dead in our tracks. Here are some thoughts from me, I know many of you out there who are suffering, even worse than Chrissy’s, and you are silent. You know who you are. I won't mention your name, as you asked me to keep your suffering a secret. I am to understand it is your gift to Jesus. What a blessing you are to our community, you who I speak of, I promise you will not be revealed; but what I will say to everyone, is that we have a saint in our midst. Actually a couple of saints who ask me to tell no one of their suffering. So back to what can we do? The biggest and greatest thing is prayer. I know that sounds so simple, it's not any sacrificial type of doing or giving to another. But understand that "prayer" on your behalf speaking to God for someone else, is truly one of the most precious gifts you could ever give another. The value cannot be matched by anything this world has to offer as a gift. But know this, if you are praying for others, TELL THEM!!! That is the icing on the cake that helps a hurting heart and aching body, a suffering illness. What good is a gift if the receiver doesn’t even know about it?

How can anyone be grateful, or thankful, if they have no clue that someone, anyone out there is begging for mercy for them before God? Praying for their healing, or their health, or a job to help get the family stable again. I wouldn't say sound the trumpet, but at least share the fact one on one with that person. I always share that gift with others. Just give all the glory to God. So what else can we do to help comfort? I think in my heart that prayer is the greatest thing we can do, but yes there are other things, if you can. Drop by, just to say hi. Don't put the person you are seeing out, by expecting a meal. Just drop in, give a hug, say some words of encouragement; it's also a great time to tell them face to face that they are in your prayers. Seeing another smiling and looking into your eyes as you suffer offers you so much strength. Call; yes call that person, just to say, "Hi, how are you feeling?" Knowing that someone is thinking of you makes you feel so good, you don't feel alone. Even send a card, a letter, little gifts of love, fresh baked cookies. Whatever, as long as it is from the heart.

In our current situation Chrissy’s in pain a great majority of the day. She enjoys hearing from friends, family, and even people she don't know. She reads my wall a lot, and says, "Who's this?, who's' that?" Sometimes I know them personally, other times I don't. She gets so thrilled to see and read how so many people care about her, even with not knowing her personally. Love and concern for another doesn't always have to be expressed in gifts, or calls, or even dropping in. So there's another very kind simple way to comfort Someone. At least on facebook, a simple kind note on a wall. I hope today has given you a little bit of insight as to how we to can be like our Blessed Mother when it comes comforting another. I can only pray that our Lord uses me to whatever He so desires to help draw you closer to be more like Him.

Joyful Walk - 1/5

Hello Everyone,

Today I wish to begin a new journey with all of you. One that may ministry to you as well as it will minister to me. Each day this week I will reflect on each one of the Joyful Mysteries. Today we begin with The Annunciation. I want us to look at the day to day aspects of the mysteries, in other words how did they personally affect the people experiencing them? The Annunciation did indeed cause our Blessed Mother to be humble and she willfully accepted God's will, there is no doubt that that is true. But let's reflect on that fact that at Mary's time, this was bad news, for the times. Please understand that I know it was nothing but good news, but of cause we have the ability of having the whole picture put before us. We know the what, the why, the ending, we know all that. Mary didn't, her trust and humility before God was incredible. Her faith is not like our faith. She was rooted in the Old Testament but had no clue she'd be the reason for the New Testament. For a woman of her time who was unmarried to be pregnant, that was a disgrace and she could have been stoned to death. So seriously for the "time" of this mystery, this was indeed bad news. But regardless of the scary news, Mary forged forward.

How could Mary's example help us confront "bad news"? Can we just do God's will? Are you able to truly pick up your cross and carry it, PERIOD? I will tell you that now; I can share so much more about what we as a family are going through and how horrible bad news affects us. First of all think about it, how ever do you prepare for this? How do you have your heart and head in the right place as the news is put before you? Unlike many choices we have in our lives, with illnesses we have no control of them; and once they take up residence in our bodies, there's no escaping or denying them anymore. We are only left with embracing them and dealing with them. I will say the initial shock, the initial news of a spot found on Chrissy lung; I immediately dismissed any fears of it being serious. It's never "us", it's always someone else, someone we know, someone we know who knows someone; but it certainly not us. Well that confident denial was dissolved the day she began coughing up blood. I have to tell you, she called me over crying and I had no idea why. I came over to see why, and she said, "I'm coughing up blood." I confess now before you, my heart felt like it came out of my throat and my blood was drained. This was bad. I am not well versed with anything medical, but I know from TV shows and movies (not the best to rely on I know) and I had some general common sense growing up; that coughing up blood is a symptom of something far worse.

You know it seemed that people who cough up blood in movies and tv shows always were the people who inevitably died from some internal catastrophic problem. I admit I was immediately almost instantaneously scared for her, our kids, our family. Like Mary, this was to be and still is an unknown territory for us. A road we must travel, and trust in God. We must trust in His will for her life, our lives and all those around us. Tears are not going to go away throughout this, I am all teared up writing this. Tears are not a sign of weakness, or a sign of not trusting. Tears rather show a sign of love, concern, and they are an out right cleansing we so need as we struggle understanding what is happening. I want God to reconsider this: I beg before you Lord to put this pain and suffering on me, and take it away from Chrissy. I pray that I am the sacrifice You are seeking. Please Lord, take my life as a sacrifice in place of Chrissy's. Please allow her to enjoy our children, and all the joy they give us. And this beautiful world you have given us to dwell in, and the joys that are to come in the future: weddings, grand-kids, walks, fresh air. My God there are so many wonderful things we take for gratitude in this life. Please God, consider my offer. Take me instead; give me ALL of her suffering, all of her pain. I offer it all up praising You Lord.

So today I ask you, to do like Jesus would expect us to. Embrace that cross. I know there are going to be tears, I know this only too well now. I know you might not want it, or you might hope God would take it from you. But like Jesus who wanted His very own cross removed, He to accepted rather God's will than even His own. Be bold; take a step forward, rather than backwards. If God wants to give you a huge cross, one that is so heavy and so painful that it makes you cry; well then do it out of love for God and trust in Him and forge forward. I admit my weaknesses before you. This level of media on the World Wide Web allows me (and you) to not only shed our tears before the world, but also we shed our armor. I never claimed to be bulletproof. I never think of myself as holy. I never see anyone in me, more than the man God has made me to be. I am a wretched sinner, unworthy of anything special God wants to give me. And you say, "What is it then, that you see yourself as before God?" I say, “A child of God, who will love Him, serve Him and Honor Him all the days of my life". And Yes, I thank God for this cross He has given me. Do I fully understand it? NO. Do I see the silver lining and know what and where the joy is in this? NO. But I will say that I do trust Him, His plans, and His will, and they far exceed anything I can think about; and besides He knows what all of us need, better than we ever could know.
