Grace And Truth Through Jesus

Hello Everyone,
Well the very last day of 2010 is finally here. Is it just me, or did this year go by extremely fast? Today let us make the most of it and use it to worship and love Jesus even more. Today's reflection is a wonderful refreshing way to end the year and prepare to begin a new one. Today we reflect upon John 1:1-18 (The Eternal Word Becomes Flesh), a really exciting scripture and a most wonderful way to end the year. Why did John begin by saying "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." in verse 1? There is no question that Jesus Christ is God's Son, and that Jesus is Lord; God sent Jesus into the world to be able to walk side by side with us as our brother to save us. It was through His humanity that He took the cross, He was given the cross so that His death might bring us into the light and be fully united with Him. God's Son, Jesus, our brother, helped us more fully identify God as our Father. Just as John the Baptist helped us move from the Old Testament to the New Testament, Jesus helps move us from servants of God to children of God. See how exciting this wonderful gospel is today, praise Jesus for sharing with us such a wonderful word today.
How do we thank God for what He has done for us, by giving us His only begotten Son? Jesus is the door, His coming into the world to save the world, has done just that. We must obey His word, and we really need to love Him with all the same devotion and love He has for us. Our lives need to be devoted to Him, as His life from the start was devoted to saving us and bringing us to the Father. See how simple it is to understand why we must live a life fully and completely devoted to Him. Jesus' life is the life we must reflect upon and study and do our best to copy. His life had purpose and reason, to save us and to unite with Him. That is why our lives should have similar purpose and reason, to help draw others to Him so that they might unite with Him as we unite with Him. I offer to you this challenge, as I do say so many times day in and day out. Make your life a living sacrifice offered up to Him, your life was paid for with a price (Jesus' death). So now our lives are not our own, so let's start acting that way.
So I dare you to take on the challenge. I am here to help and encourage all of you, I shall to the best of my ability be here everyday sharing and drawing others to our Lord, till the Lord takes me. What other purpose could there possibly be for us to exist? With that in mind, many will ask, what about our families, our jobs, our responsibilities? See that is what is so wonderful about surrendering fully to Jesus. Once Jesus is lined up in our lives as our main focus, all those other aspects of our lives fall into place; and we become better family leaders and better more reliable honest workers and then we become "John the Baptists" to the world, trying to help draw everyone to Him. If we can all just simply live our lives like John did, then we will have lived a most joyous, happy, Godly one.
Everyday try this:
1. When you wake up: Thank Jesus, then Pray the Rosary.
2. When you have breakfast or a morning snack: Thank Jesus, pray a decade (1).
3. When we drive to work or start house activities: Thank Jesus, pray a decade (2).
4. When you have lunch or a midday snack: Thank Jesus, then Pray the Rosary.
5. When we have an afternoon snack or break: Thank Jesus, pray a decade (3).
6. When you begin to prepare for dinner: Thank Jesus, pray a decade (4).
7. When you set up and begin to get ready to eat: Thank Jesus, pray a decade (5).
8. Before bed: Thank Jesus, then Pray the Rosary....
It is very possible to pray a complete 20 decade Rosary every single day. Other times I simple just work my way through the day one decade at a time. Really try to do this, I find that your heart and soul must really want and desire it, to the point that no matter what you make it happen, somehow, someway, every single day. God Bless all of you.

Hello Everyone,
Well the New Year is just two more days away. It's really wonderful how so many people use this time to make some resolutions in their lives. I usually suggest some serious spiritual resolutions. Also lets take this time to deepen our relationship with Jesus; get closer to our family and friends and what can we do for others, those we know and those we don't know. My usual breakdown of resolutions include: spiritual, family, others, and I also add hobbies (interests), including new things I'd like to start in my life. But I have also been known for making an 8-10 page write up of resolutions covering every aspect of my life. So this resolution thing can get nuts, But I will keep it calm today. LOL

Spiritual Resolutions 2011:
-Deepen my spiritual life, even further into His word. This year begin my handwritten gospel, this time write it in a hard-covered notebook to keep it. Write only the four gospels. (I have done this already for a couple years, very rewarding).
I will do this resolution again this year.
How does one begin doing something like this you ask? Some have asked me. It's really simple, on a clean sheet of lined paper on the top write: 2011 Resolutions, then start on the first line with Spiritual, go down a couple lines, then write Family, then go down a couple lines, then write Others. You can add as many topics you so desire. You don't even have to make resolutions, this is just fun to do, to help you personally build your spiritual life, your family life or whatever..growth. When I do make my huge lists of resolutions, usually by like the end of February my list has boiled down to the my main focus for the year, so see even those long lists of resolutions serve a purpose.
Here are some fun Resolutions to consider:
-Learn a gospel song, either the words or playing it with an instrument.
-Volunteer to serve or prepare food at shelters for the homeless.
-Always tell the person at the Drive-Thru, your order is "to go".
-Eat more meals together as a family, ice cream and popcorn to.
-Take the time this year to start a family ritual.
-Find what each of my children's favorite thing is, and become part of that with them.
-Share my love for my Lord at least 3 times a week, to someone new.
-Do at least one random act of kindness a day, everyday.
-Be thee absolute best parent you can be, kind, understanding, firm, loving.
-Be thee absolute best brother or sister in the Lord, you can be.
-Be the most reliable, honest, sincere worker, no matter where you work.
-Give away your most prized possession to someone you only recently met, who you know would love it.
-Read my bible cover to cover, and when I am done, do it again.

How To Remember Me

How To Remember Me

Hello Everyone,
That is a rather strange title, at least it's a little different. To start with let us ask ourselves, "Why do people do what they do?" or "Why do you do, what you do?" You see what I am saying? Most everyone have a reason why they do things; personal gain, advancement, promotion, a raise, whatever. So let me explain to you,"Why I do what I do, and how I really wish to be remembered." I pray that this example will inspire you to eventually desire it also; in your own walk to our Lord and in the devotion of drawing others to Him. Please know that I am not sharing this for any other reason, other than to help you find ways that help draw you closer to our Lord. I will tell you this in the only way I know best, in story form. The next paragraph will tell you a scenario that we will one day experience, and it sums up my purpose and the memory I seek. The only memory I seek, my friends.
One day we will all end up at the pearly gates, and our Lord will place judgment upon us; we will be asked many things, especially with how we lived our lives and how we adored and worshiped Him. I can see one question being, who was it that helped lead you to me? The response I am about to share is what this ministry is all about. The perfect response would be, "You know, I don't remember, it was a person, who always spoke about You, that's all this persons life was devoted to; sending people to You Lord, I honestly have no clue who that was, all I remember was that they drew me closer to you, Lord." That is why I do what I do. I never ever want any recognition for anything I really don't. That's not what this is all about. Please focus yourself and your life on Jesus 24/7/365. I ask our Lord and our Lady everyday to help keep me out of the spotlight, I seriously want NO credit, ever. I am just like everyone of you. And you want to know a secret, I to have people in my life (mentors, priests) who play a significant role in my life, keeping me focused on Jesus. We all help each other, we all need to look out for each others eternity. Ministry is never about the speaker, or the writer, it's always only should be about Jesus.
Now do you see what I am talking about, if we can all do something like this, we'd all be leading others to Jesus without ever seeing or hearing our names. Devote all you have, your time, your energy, your treasures fully to our dear Lord. You will never be the same, honestly, your life will be on fire for Jesus and everything that is not Jesus, won't even matter anymore. I love that. For 27 years now, God has blessed me with all the same challenges every one of us has in life. My life hasn't been easier, trust me when I say that. Actually I think because my life is so Jesus centered, we get attacked more spiritually by the evil one. But then because Jesus is the center of everything for us, none of the evil doers attempts sadden us, or cause us to blame Jesus for anything; on the contrary, it only pushes us closer to Him. If I lost everything, it wouldn't matter to me, and I'd only thank my dear Lord, because I did lose everything, it would only give me more reason to even be more fully focus on Him.
Jesus first and only
Nothing else should be,
His love is all we need
And that love sets us free.
What could possibly
Be worth losing eternity for,
Everything else means nothin
All we should want is Him, all the more.
Thank you my Lady for always being there for us; always leading us to your Son. I am so excited and thrilled that you are in my life. God is so Good to us, by allowing us to love you, while we are drawn to Him.
Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Convictions That Move Us

Hello Everyone,
All I can say is, never doubt the power, the plans and the blessing Almighty God has in store for you. This won't be the official conviction to the entire blessings we received at Christmas, but I will share some now. For starters many of you know our situation; that is that Chrissy (my wife) has a severe case of lung cancer, since May. She has been in the hospital 4 separate times throughout all this time, her latest and longest stay that ended just two weeks ago was a 22 day stay. She has a fungal infection in her lungs, due to a very weak immune system; so all our resources and all our energy are focused completely on Chrissy. We do all we can to make her comfortable and we try to meet all her nutritional needs and her own personal needs and desires. Well doing so, on my modest income is next to impossible since my hours have decreased, so this year we told the kids, there wont be any Christmas. At first they were sad, but then almost immediately after that, they said they understand, mommy must come first. Well with that all said, we had no plans on having a Christmas (meaning giving gifts to one another, including Santa), we just don't have the financial ability. Well God had other plans for us.
Through all this, we never doubted or questioned any of this. We never have, nor will we ever blame God for any of this. We only Thank Him for loving us and accept whatever His will for us is, no matter what it is. We look at it this way, if its His will, then that's what we want in our lives. In fact we were so confident that our Lord's will, will be what He wants in our lives that we refused help two times, so that that help can go to another family. And that was before we had any idea that we'd be blessed the way we were. Aside from the parting of the sea, this Christmas was one of many miracles we have experienced throughout this entire experience. Yes I did say "many miracles", I believe it is important to seek out miracles everyday and everywhere. God is always at work, and His concern for and focus on us, helps us see our way through all things. We have seen many other miracles these past 8 months: Chrissy's cancer reduced 30% in size, when they barely expected 10%; Chrissy's bouncing back and initial toleration of chemo showed how strong and tough she is, they didn't expect that; and now look at her advancing in physical strength and ability to get around, in three weeks she is showing tremendous success, shocking her doctors. God is so good to us, and let me tell you there are so many other countless daily miracles.
What's the point of saying you believe and you trust, if indeed when times get horribly bad, you bail, and then blame God? I ask that with a very serious question mark. I know I goof off a lot about many thing, but honestly, why bother saying how much we believe and trust when we then turn on God and blame Him, and belief and trust is out the window. Well throughout this, and we know well that this is far from being over; we have never ever lost our belief or trust or faith that God's hand has been in this all the time. I pray that so many people reading this gain some trust in their own lives and the situations they are facing. Our situation is far from over, Chrissy's doctor says this can last an easy 1-2 years or more, depending on a lot of issues. Chrissy not only has lung cancer, but she also has a severe case of emphysema. God is good to us, and to her, we just know that from her illness many will be saved and many will draw closer to our Lord. I have one friend who told me her husband is finally back to praying with her, simply because she asked him to pray with her, to pray for Chrissy. What a remarkable miracle, and that is only one I am aware of, I am sure there are many miracles of grace out there.
Soon I will write out our entire experience including details that will boggle your mind. Our Lord is simply thee most magnificent. We shall continue to keep our trust and love in our Lord, knowing that His will is the only will we seek, even in this most traumatic part of our lives. Chrissy is not in this alone, we as a family, me as her husband; are with her 10,000% day in and day out. Her health, her comfort, her needs take top priority, no matter how many years it takes to get her back to 100%. Our Lord gives all of us the strength to get through each day, each night, each treatment and every hospital stay. Please if you are struggling, turn it over to our Lord and trust in Him like never before; and as you do that accept whatever the outcome will be. Because you can see that the outcome that is in God's will, is the one you really desire. Patience and prayer, and community help build tremendous strength.

She has a fungal infection in her lungs, due to a very weak immune system; so all our resources and all our energy are focused completely on Chrissy. We do all we can to make her comfortable and we try to meet all her nutritional needs and her own personal needs and desires. Well doing so, on my modest income is next to impossible since my hours have decreased, so this year we told the kids, there wont be any Christmas. At first they were sad, but then almost immediately after that, they said they understand, mommy must come first. Well with that all said, we had no plans on having a Christmas (meaning giving gifts to one another, including Santa), we just don't have the financial ability. Well God had other plans for us.
Through all this, we never doubted or questioned any of this. We never have, nor will we ever blame God for any of this. We only Thank Him for loving us and accept whatever His will for us is, no matter what it is. We look at it this way, if its His will, then that's what we want in our lives. In fact we were so confident that our Lord's will, will be what He wants in our lives that we refused help two times, so that that help can go to another family. And that was before we had any idea that we'd be blessed the way we were. Aside from the parting of the sea, this Christmas was one of many miracles we have experienced throughout this entire experience. Yes I did say "many miracles", I believe it is important to seek out miracles everyday and everywhere. God is always at work, and His concern for and focus on us, helps us see our way through all things. We have seen many other miracles these past 8 months: Chrissy's cancer reduced 30% in size, when they barely expected 10%; Chrissy's bouncing back and initial toleration of chemo showed how strong and tough she is, they didn't expect that; and now look at her advancing in physical strength and ability to get around, in three weeks she is showing tremendous success, shocking her doctors. God is so good to us, and let me tell you there are so many other countless daily miracles.
What's the point of saying you believe and you trust, if indeed when times get horribly bad, you bail, and then blame God? I ask that with a very serious question mark. I know I goof off a lot about many thing, but honestly, why bother saying how much we believe and trust when we then turn on God and blame Him, and belief and trust is out the window. Well throughout this, and we know well that this is far from being over; we have never ever lost our belief or trust or faith that God's hand has been in this all the time. I pray that so many people reading this gain some trust in their own lives and the situations they are facing. Our situation is far from over, Chrissy's doctor says this can last an easy 1-2 years or more, depending on a lot of issues. Chrissy not only has lung cancer, but she also has a severe case of emphysema. God is good to us, and to her, we just know that from her illness many will be saved and many will draw closer to our Lord. I have one friend who told me her husband is finally back to praying with her, simply because she asked him to pray with her, to pray for Chrissy. What a remarkable miracle, and that is only one I am aware of, I am sure there are many miracles of grace out there.
Soon I will write out our entire experience including details that will boggle your mind. Our Lord is simply thee most magnificent. We shall continue to keep our trust and love in our Lord, knowing that His will is the only will we seek, even in this most traumatic part of our lives. Chrissy is not in this alone, we as a family, me as her husband; are with her 10,000% day in and day out. Her health, her comfort, her needs take top priority, no matter how many years it takes to get her back to 100%. Our Lord gives all of us the strength to get through each day, each night, each treatment and every hospital stay. Please if you are struggling, turn it over to our Lord and trust in Him like never before; and as you do that accept whatever the outcome will be. Because you can see that the outcome that is in God's will, is the one you really desire. Patience and prayer, and community help build tremendous strength.
God is so good.

Hello Everyone,
Let us look upon this day in a way that maybe our Lord might hope we would. We know Jesus did things so that we would learn from Him, and then follow Him. Jesus indeed said the statement, "Follow me." many times in scripture. Every gospel have multiple references to this statement. Well today, let us follow His example of a Holy Family. I well know that none of us can really measure up to any the members of the Holy Family; but at least we could imitate their close holiness and commitment to one another. In our society they do all they can to destroy "marriage" whether it be, the gay marriage issues or the abortion issues; or the fact that taxes and local government rules and laws actually encourage separation or divorce. I know this first hand, so I am not just babbling along. Many years ago when I was out of work in Niagara Falls; we went for social services assistance, they flat out told me, "If you separate or divorce your wife, the state will step in and give her and your kids all that they need, at no cost to them." What the.. No cost??? So their philosophy is tear apart the family and the state will take care of them. You do know taxes work in a similar fashion. Filing "married" or together is more taxing then if you were completely separate and not married. Sad society we live in. This is why we as Christians must hold strong in this society, if we allow it, it will destroy us. So in today's thoughts and reflections, let us consider a few simple things we can do as a family, to be strong.

COOK A MEAL TOGETHER: Just like we can only imagine, Mary and Joseph surely worked side by side in preparation of all their meals, so to Jesus must have been doing all He can to prepare the meals. In your home, we like to get everyone involved. Maybe someone is preparing the main dish, while another is working on peeling potatoes, and preparing vegetables. Still another can maybe be mixing the ice tea, or setting the table. We have done this many times, more so around the holidays, but also from time to time on a weekend we'd like a huge meal. I have found that doing this, draws the family closer in many ways, first just the fact of working together in harmony. But I think the best part of this entire idea is the end result; you all get to sit at the same table and start eating from bowls and trays that everyone helped prepare. The thank yous will be shared by everyone and to everyone. Isn't that just the coolest.
I am praying for your success in this wonderful family project.

Hello Everyone,
MERRY CHRISTMAS !!
To understand Christmas, and to truly see the Joy that is in this most wonderful day; we must start at the cross. Yes I understand that the cross happens about 33 years after our Lord's birth; but we also must understand that in all things "Jesus", all things begin at the cross. Jesus came into this world to save it, and to save each and everyone of us. He was sent here by His Father to be a living, breathing sacrifice, so that by His death, you and I might receive eternal life. So by understanding His purpose, and His reason for being born, we can better understand the true Joy of His birth, and what it really represents.
Today's Gospel: Luke 2:1-14
In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus
that the whole world should be enrolled.
This was the first enrollment,
when Quirinius was governor of Syria.
So all went to be enrolled, each to his own town.
And Joseph too went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth
to Judea, to the city of David that is called Bethlehem,
because he was of the house and family of David,
to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.
While they were there,
the time came for her to have her child,
and she gave birth to her firstborn son.
She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger,
because there was no room for them in the inn.
Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields
and keeping the night watch over their flock.
The angel of the Lord appeared to them
and the glory of the Lord shone around them,
and they were struck with great fear.
The angel said to them,
“Do not be afraid;
for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy
that will be for all the people.
For today in the city of David
a savior has been born for you who is Christ and Lord.
And this will be a sign for you:
you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes
and lying in a manger.”
And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel,
praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
That's all everybody...

Hello Everyone,
Here I am just starting out "Uncle Jimmy's Tomato Sauce", yes it's my own homemade tomato sauce recipe. I have been making this for about 20 years now, the exact same way every time; and in the same huge quantity so I can freeze a lot of it. Ask anyone in my family and even many friends, and they know of this masterpieceI make it at ever major holiday. Today I am making my famous Lasagna. This sauce will simmer for 10-12 hours before I even let it cool down to assemble my Lasagna and Ziti trays. I am 100% Italian, my family is Neapolitans. Both my great grandparents on my mothers and my fathers side all come from Naples. Salerno is our most populated family area. We are the DeCio's ((da-che-o) that's our original name from Italy ), the DeRosa's, DePetro's, and the Merola's are all our families ancestry names from Italy. I make about 14 Quarts at a time. I have a huge stainless steel pot, made for making very large quantities of tomato sauce. I had to do some research to find the actual recipe, I don't have to follow it to make all this. It's all natural for me now. And remarkably it tastes the same every single time. God has blessed me with a love for food, LOL, like he hasn't blessed many with that one. LOL.

The Storm of Preparation

Under The Storm of Preparation

Hello Everyone,
This is a personal journey I wish to share today. It'll be quick in many of the highlights you already know; or at least most of you already know and more in detail to what has never been shared. Before I begin, let me say that I am deeply in love with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, His dad (Our Father) and His mom (Hail Mary). As many of you all know, "Chrissy's cancer" started back in May 2010. We had no idea back then, what the road ahead was going to be. After Chrissy was officially diagnosed, it was then that we realized that we just got whacked up the side of the head with a hammer. Wow, were we ever thrown for a loop. The doctor drew a graph going from left to right, and starting off at the the top on the left; and ending up on the bottom on the right. He said this is what we are to expect, a steady slow down hill ride where only Chrissy's comfort was important. Recovery and remission were never part of the equation, unfortunately as of now, they still aren't. As time has progressed through many trying times, we have build up much strength, a sort of resistance to the bad news. Considering how full our plate has gotten since then, we Thank God for allowing us the time, to have built up that strength.
Through all this our family has sacrificed much. We are not complaining by any means, just pointing out facts and bragging on my wonderful understanding, loving kids. Our kids didn't get to enjoy the summer at all, no vacations or weekends or day trips of any sort. We spent all these past eight months focusing all our attention, resources and energy in trying to make everything comfortable and right for Chrissy. All the money we put aside was inevitably spent. We needed to upgrade and replace many items in our home early on; so that Chrissy in her toughest moments would be comfortable. And then the doctors told her, she needed to be on a high protein diet; now even though that don't seem like a huge request, it was. So now along with all our regular food shopping that wasn't necessarily all high protein, we had to shop for Chrissy's needs, and we did. What I am getting at is, we were slowly coming down the financial pike and soon would be out of all our resources. Along the way we haven't ever lost faith, on the contrary, I believe we increased in our faith. In fact Chrissy's faith came to life, what a blessing seeing her spiritually come alive.
So now we look at the plate we hold and we think, how did it get this full? Work is a challenge, a double edge sword now; my hours have lessened and my health insurance has changed for the worse, while my weekly insurance costs have increased $39. Our home is an issue, which has no resolve at all at the moment. And Chrissy's health is front and center, along with the unknown challenges Travis faces with his heart issues. In the interim of all this, I have become care taker for my darling wife. I am not complaining at all in this blog, rather I am grateful and joyous that I have been chosen to carry all these things. It is through my faith and my love for my Lord that I for the most part very easily shoulder all of this, plus cook, clean, shop, and there are so many etc's I can't list them. I honestly, openly, willingly surrendered my life fully so that I can serve my Lord, my wife, my son and our family. My strength is in my prayer life, my time with Jesus, in both my devout love for the Rosary and my craving for the word. Anyone reading this who is in a similar situation, please feel free to contact me and we can talk and share and I will do all I can to help you through what you are dealing with. Well here we are few days from Christmas and a couple weeks ago we told our kids we weren't even having a Christmas. They weren't thrilled but they understood what has happened these past few months has taken it's toll on our family finances. We cling to survival sometimes week to week. I always preach, never be greedy, never desire things if you know someone else could use them, and never ask for anything unless we are in desperate need. And most importantly I always say, "Trust in the Lord, He will and always has provided for us." With all that said, as Christmas has drawn near and my work hours keep lessening and our bills keep backing up, something wonderful has begun to happen. The floodgates of love and generosity started pouring out from many of our friends. We didn't ask, we never requested, we only trusted. Yes we are having a horrible difficult time right now, but this bright sunshine of food and gifts for the children is flooding our hearts with Joy. Twice we refused help and told those offering to give it to another family in need, and it was not even a day or two after that, that the flood gates have poured so much Joy into our lives. Chrissy is giddy and happy that our kids will indeed now have a Christmas. What a joyous, happy, fun filled surprise it will indeed be for them, when they see that Santa did come after all.

Chrissy is giddy and happy that our kids will indeed now have a Christmas. What a joyous, happy, fun filled surprise it will indeed be for them, when they see that Santa did come after all.

The Canticle of Mary

Hello Everyone,
Today is another joyous day, but today I'd like to take the time to share "The Canticle of Mary" also known as "The Magnificat". This prayer is so moving, so powerful, and so recognized by so many around the world. So today let us look at today's gospel Luke 1:46-56 (Mary's Song of Praise).
"And Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is on those who fear him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with his arm, he has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts, he has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted those of low degree; he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent empty away. He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his posterity for ever." And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her home."
And the Catechism of The Catholic Church also teaches us the following about this magnificent prayer:
The prayer of the Virgin Mary
2617 Mary's prayer is revealed to us at the dawning of the fullness of time. Before the incarnation of the Son of God, and before the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, her prayer cooperates in a unique way with the Father's plan of loving kindness: at the Annunciation, for Christ's conception; at Pentecost, for the formation of the Church, his Body. In the faith of his humble handmaid, the Gift of God found the acceptance he had awaited from the beginning of time. She whom the Almighty made "full of grace" responds by offering her whole being: "Behold I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be [done] to me according to your word." "Fiat": this is Christian prayer: to be wholly God's, because he is wholly ours.
2618 The Gospel reveals to us how Mary prays and intercedes in faith. At Cana, the mother of Jesus asks her son for the needs of a wedding feast; this is the sign of another feast - that of the wedding of the Lamb where he gives his body and blood at the request of the Church, his Bride. It is at the hour of the New Covenant, at the foot of the cross, that Mary is heard as the Woman, the new Eve, the true "Mother of all the living."
2619 That is why the Canticle of Mary, the Magnificat (Latin) or Megalynei (Byzantine) is the song both of the Mother of God and of the Church; the song of the Daughter of Zion and of the new People of God; the song of thanksgiving for the fullness of graces poured out in the economy of salvation and the song of the "poor" whose hope is met by the fulfillment of the promises made to our ancestors, "to Abraham and to his posterity for ever."

Hello Everyone,
Isn't this week so exciting, Christmas is drawing near. I hear jingles jangling, I know of Christmas carolers caroling, I see so many more people smiling. The most wonderful time of the year is here. Let us rejoice and leap with Joy like John the Baptist did in the womb of Elizabeth. So who says, they claim they know when a baby is a person? Even before conception God knew us, "“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5. Today we will reflect on Luke 1:39-45 (Mary Visits Elizabeth), better known as "The Visitation". Did you ever wonder maybe why scripture reveals to us a trip Mary took to go see her cousin? Hmmm, it has me curious. How about the entire "Holy Spirit" experience which is what dominated the story. The Holy Spirit experience seems significant and awesome enough to read about and know. The Holy Spirit is so alive in each of us, even in our mother's womb; that even the baby in Elizabeth's womb knew when our Lord was present. Brace yourselves I am going to take you down one of my crazy wild explanations to help you understand my craziness and excitement, that just don't go away, nor do I wish it to ever go away.
I keep telling all of you, how bizarre and excited and wound up I am. Lucky you if you only read these tales, I pity the soul who's ear I chatter to each and everyday for hours. LOL. The start off question is this: How can I as a child of God (any age) experience the same excitement and Joy that John the Baptist did in Elizabeth's womb? Ok, I made the question up, but anyway, that's the question. How many of y'all really want that Joy in your life every single day? Ok, calm down, simply raise your hand and you will be called upon. LOL. I find that in my life, the more I talk about Jesus, the more I share Jesus, the more I think about Jesus, the more goofy and strange with an overwhelming burst of excitement and Joy that overcomes me. I feel like nothing is a threat, no one is a threat, evil has no power whatsoever, satan is already defeated, and I can kneel in God's sight and talk directly to Him. Think about it, I don't know how anyone can't get this excited about the very thought of it. We are God's children and we get the privilege to speak directly to God the Father whenever we want to. Sorta like the Bat-phone to Heaven. LOL
Wow, how is it that Adam West seems to show up everywhere. LOL. It's true, cartoons, TV shows, commercials. LOL, how does he do that? Ok, I don't want to get side tracked here to quickly. See what happens when my focus is 1000% Jesus, I go leaping with excitement. It's kinda like saying, "I know a secret that will change your life and when I tell you all about this person, your life will never be the same again." And the thought alone about that is indeed true, in and of itself is exciting. Are you still with me? Just be open to our Lord, that's all. Know that you know, that you know, He is real and a very real part of your life. The more real He is in your life, the more real that Joy and excitement will be everyday.
Hold on a minute I think I just heard someone yell out a question out, here I'll repeat it for all of you who didn't hear it: "What can I do in my life each day to experience this Joy you are talking about?" Now obviously for everybody it will be a little bit different, but the core of it will be because your life will be all about Jesus. Or just take one 5 hour energy each day at 3pm. LOL. That does help, but that isn't the center core of it, Jesus is. Getting goofy again. LOL. I realize that today's blog is a bit goofy and overloaded with the blah-blah's; but I think I may have got the point across, as to how excited one can truly be because of Jesus. I leave you with these two verses of scripture, "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them." John 3:36 and "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13. Praise Jesus for the Joy that is aching to come out. :)))

Hello Everyone,
Has Mary received a message even too big for her to understand? Is this message from Gabriel, especially at that time in history even more difficult to even comprehend? How ever can what the angel say be true, it's not normal for these things to happen in that way. Today let us reflect on Luke 1:26-38 (The Birth of Jesus Foretold). What an absolutely precious scripture explaining the very beginning of how Jesus was introduced to Mary and to us. It seems as though Mary was bewildered by how any of this could possibly be. How can one be with child, if first they were never with a man? This was outside the normal of understanding life, this made no sense. But praise Jesus for Mary's openness to listen to God's request and accept that which she was asked to do. It was Mary's, "let it be to me according to your word." that I am sure has helped lead many to her Son. Nothing is impossible with God, nothing. That is why miracles are so well defined. They are outside the norm of our understanding, therefore they can't be explained; so we see that only by way of a miracle they could have happened.
Let us take the time to reflect upon our own lives. If you really reflect periodically through the good and the bad times, you will be amazed as to how much our Lord is part of all of it. I do not not take anything for granted. I always look for God's hand in all things, and I know all things are possible by His will, and even if it's a sad or bad situation. God always works all things for good, nothing is impossible if His hand is in it. I guess the best way to keep your eyes open more, is by always remaining attentive to His word, His presence, His love, His mercy, His forgiveness, you get the idea. I really hope and pray that many of you become addicts to Jesus. LOL. I mean that in the greatest most blessed way to understand it. Your desire for Him, and to please Him and to obey him, must seriously be front and center in your life at all times. Addicts do all they can, every single day to get their fix. As with that in mind, we should do all we can to get our fix of Jesus every single day. Your life will never be the same.
Nothing will be impossible when it comes to God. Whatever He so decides for my life, our life, your life, will all be possible. And if He so desires to take us up to be with Him, because we are needed there more then we are here, so be it. For in God's wisdom there is purpose and reason that will only further glorify Himself. We must be open to His will in our lives; and in that trust in whatever He sends our way. I do know personally that I don't always understand the trauma, the tragedy, the stress, the pain and the tears; but what I do know is that in the end of all that there is Jesus. And that is the whole point, all things begin and end with Him. Please keep the faith my fellow brothers and sisters, never be knocked down by tough times, tragedy, and the whispering of others. Stand strong and solid in Jesus, allow Him to be the absolute center of your everything. Nothing should matter in your life unless it has something to do with Him. Please don't misunderstand what I have just said. All things have to do with Jesus. Let us pray for the evil, so that it may stop and recognize God, His will and His love. Nothing and no one must be forgotten.
We are all in each others lives for a reason. We have all become friends for a reason. We all spend time each day praying together for a reason. And you ask, "What is the reason?" and I say, "JESUS, He is the reason." Let us seriously grab hold of Jesus, and never ever let Him go. There isn't one reason in this world why we would ever let Jesus go, nothing and no one should separate you from the one person you need. Jesus is our Savior and our Lord, He is the one who bore all our sins, and died humbly on a cross for us. So to me, in return for Jesus giving me all that He had, I give Him all that I have; my family, my time, my treasure, my skills, my desires, everything. Nothing left hidden, all open to Him. Just remember, nothing will be impossible with God, the only catch is, you need to be open: to His love, and His mercy and His arms in order for you not only to be able to receive Him, but to even know you are receiving Him. I pray that your heart is even closer to our Lord. Trust Him always.

Do Not Be Afraid Joseph

Hello Everyone,
Today is a most joyous, spectacular day for us to celebrate; the fourth Sunday of Advent. And what a beautiful gospel for us to reflect on this most beautiful day. Joseph you are certainly a man of honor, a man who listens to God's word and direction; you follow that which the Spirit leads. I am so proud to be a Roman Catholic, and I must say St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, is certainly a huge inspiration in my faith. Today let us reflect upon Matthew 1:18-24 (How The Birth of Jesus Came About). Like Mary, Joseph was obedient to God's will in a most difficult situation. He had to do that which he would have maybe not done otherwise; but with his upbringing, he knew that God's plan was more important than his own, and so he followed through and fulfilled God's wishes. Simply trusting the promises of God; Mary did it, and now Joseph did it. What a most blessed family example of how when choices and events come and hit you square in the face; you do what is in God's will rather then pack-up and leave. See how Chrissy and I are able to take each hit and challenge, regardless of what is coming our way, we are doing our best to follow God's will. Our Lord must receive all the glory and all the praise; we must draw as many as we can to Him on our journey to Him.
Joseph loved Mary too much to allow her to be punished for what the Lord has given them to do in His will. Joseph knew the consequences of a woman being pregnant before she was married, I am sure he could not bear the thought of any harm coming to her. In the midst of the confusion over the situation and his contemplation of a quiet divorce, God's angel stepped right in and guided this Godly man. And praise Jesus, in the wisdom and openness of His ears and heart being open to God's will; Joseph listened, and heard the angels words and obeyed God's will for Mary and the child Jesus. What an absolute perfect example for all dads and husbands to follow. I am sure in many ways, thinking of my own self in Joseph's situation; I would rather be the one to be punished and even die then to see the woman I love suffer in anyway. Husbands and fathers I say this, look upon the example and response and reaction Joseph has taken in a most difficult situation. He didn't do anything rash or quick to response, instead he in his own way remained open, not closed to God in guidance through this.
As this Christmas season draws near, let us think about how in our own lives we can do our best to follow God's will more perfectly. I know personally know that knowing that we know it's God's will and not our own isn't always easy. I have a rather simple formula that I have learned through the years that might be helpful for all of us. I learned this from Father Larry Richards: (whenever I say I think of it as you) Is what I am doing drawing attention to me or to Jesus? Now think about this, are my words uplifting me, or do they uplift Jesus? Do my actions lead people to follow me? or to follow Jesus? If everything I do is for my own personal ego and financial gain outwardly or through an ulterior motive that I have, and all the attention is drawn to me, then by no means is this God's will. Rather all that I do must draw others to Him fully, when they me, they must see Jesus. Not that I am Jesus, please understand what I am saying. My (your) actions, your words, your intentions, should be a direct reflection of our Lord. So that when people see me (you), they see Jesus. It's a little in-depth to maybe fully understand, but know that the Spirit will lead you. We must honestly put our lives on cruise control and trust fully that our Lord will direct us, either through people, events or whatever He sees necessary to gain our allegiance to Him.
So today I leave you with this thought: In beginning to preparing your 2011 New Years resolutions, consider how you might live your life where all your efforts, all your words, all your everything help direct other to our Lord. And then when they reflect back on how it is they were directed to Him. They ponder only a memory that a woman or a man whose name they can't remember, who always spoke of and lived a life that they were drawn to that drew themselves to Jesus. Let us really try to be instruments for God, who's purpose is to love, honor and cherish our Lord, and in doing so we share Him with everybody we can. And let us pray for one another in that the Holy Spirit leads each of to God's will more perfectly in our lives.

Do Not Be Afraid Joseph

Hello Everyone,
Today is a most joyous, spectacular day for us to celebrate; the fourth Sunday of Advent. And what a beautiful gospel for us to reflect on this most beautiful day. Joseph you are certainly a man of honor, a man who listens to God's word and direction; you follow that which the Spirit leads. I am so proud to be a Roman Catholic, and I must say St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, is certainly a huge inspiration in my faith. Today let us reflect upon Matthew 1:18-24 (How The Birth of Jesus Came About). Like Mary, Joseph was obedient to God's will in a most difficult situation. He had to do that which he would have maybe not done otherwise; but with his upbringing, he knew that God's plan was more important than his own, and so he followed through and fulfilled God's wishes. Simply trusting the promises of God; Mary did it, and now Joseph did it. What a most blessed family example of how when choices and events come and hit you square in the face; you do what is in God's will rather then pack-up and leave. See how Chrissy and I are able to take each hit and challenge, regardless of what is coming our way, we are doing our best to follow God's will. Our Lord must receive all the glory and all the praise; we must draw as many as we can to Him on our journey to Him.
Joseph loved Mary too much to allow her to be punished for what the Lord has given them to do in His will. Joseph knew the consequences of a woman being pregnant before she was married, I am sure he could not bear the thought of any harm coming to her. In the midst of the confusion over the situation and his contemplation of a quiet divorce, God's angel stepped right in and guided this Godly man. And praise Jesus, in the wisdom and openness of His ears and heart being open to God's will; Joseph listened, and heard the angels words and obeyed God's will for Mary and the child Jesus. What an absolute perfect example for all dads and husbands to follow. I am sure in many ways, thinking of my own self in Joseph's situation; I would rather be the one to be punished and even die then to see the woman I love suffer in anyway. Husbands and fathers I say this, look upon the example and response and reaction Joseph has taken in a most difficult situation. He didn't do anything rash or quick to response, instead he in his own way remained open, not closed to God in guidance through this.
As this Christmas season draws near, let us think about how in our own lives we can do our best to follow God's will more perfectly. I know personally know that knowing that we know it's God's will and not our own isn't always easy. I have a rather simple formula that I have learned through the years that might be helpful for all of us. I learned this from Father Larry Richards: (whenever I say I think of it as you) Is what I am doing drawing attention to me or to Jesus? Now think about this, are my words uplifting me, or do they uplift Jesus? Do my actions lead people to follow me? or to follow Jesus? Hello Everyone,
Let us look at "Marriage" for a moment. How serious were you when you spoke your vows before your spouse and God? and Do we remain loyal to one another when we are experiencing some extremely serious challenges? Did you ever hear about taking the "Love Dare"? It is from the movie, "Fireproof". Over the next couple weeks from time to time I will reflect on different aspects of marriage, mine, yours, ours, theirs, every bodies. LOL. Ok, maybe not, yours, ours and theirs, but definitely mine. LOL. We all have problems and issues, or we wouldn't be human; but how we handle them make the difference. Think about marriage, here are two people from two different family backgrounds, with different ways, different attitudes, many times different beliefs, and thoughts in general about things. When we marry, we merge the two into one home, onto one dining room table, and into each others day in and day out living. Think of it like joining together dynamite with fire: Maybe if you're lucky it won't explode at all, but chances are if the fire gets hot enough it will. LOL. Not that you have to yell or scream, but the awareness of the potential explosion is there. That's why a marriage needs Jesus in it, alive and part of it every single day.
Let's take a gander at "Love is Patient". Honestly love has to be beyond patient all the time. But we all know, no matter what we have experienced in this life; Love works, period. Chrissy is a good, hard working, caring woman. I love it when a woman is strong and independent, that is so hot (wink wink my love). LOL.. ok, cool down Jimmy. LOL. wow... All is good, I am ok. LOL. I just never felt my own strength if the woman I am with is so weak and frail. I feel strongest when she is strong. That's hard to explain, but I just know so many of you understand that. She is my forever love, till death do us part. Hopefully never..
How do we become patient if we aren't already patient with our spouse? Like with my love for my Lord, it is ecstatic and thrilled with an endless Joy; so to, must the relationship we have with the one we love. Here's a thought, and many of you who already think I am a bit weird and crazy, will now have something to verify it with. LOL. But, I don't think it's just me thinking like this, but in a marriage you need to incorporate; comedy, fun hilarious times, and a Joy for a shared faith and a deep love for music (love songs, and songs about love), actually all songs that are fun to sing to. See, I was right, now you must think I am even stranger than you originally thought. But hey that formula works for us. Music wonderfully solidifies a relationship. It's fun and sometimes the words help you express your love.. Does that make sense? I understand what I am trying to say, I'm not sure if everyone is understanding it. I try my best not to write in gibberish, LOL. But with me being strange, weird and all drugged up on the Holy Spirit; one never knows what I am going to type. LOL
My reflection to all this is, just allow the love you have in your heart to inspire you to love even more, and in that have tremendous patience in all things for each other. Never resort to anger or allow any sort of a temper to ever be part of your relationship. Repaying anger with anger is not the answer. I do realize some situations involving kids and safety will require common sense in accord to the situation. When I speak, I speak generally and mostly because we have never had those types of experiences, so I really have no clue what that is like to deal with that. If you are experiencing that, then prayer is a wonderful place to start, and then reach out to others for support to help you keep your wit through it all. Law enforcement when necessary. If you ever feel a need to reach out and a strong solid respectful shoulder to lean on, I am here. Praying for you and here to chat if you'd like. Yes, those are open statements to all. God is good to me, for allowing me to be there for you. Praise Jesus and in that love is patient, be patient with God; His will isn't always made for us to understand, with patience and confidence and trust, His will becomes apparent. Always praying for all of you. PS. I love you so much Christine !!

Why Does It All Really Matter?

Why Does It All Really Matter?

Hello Everyone,
Please understand that all of what we are going through as a couple, and as a family, is somehow in God's plan and will for us. And I will admit right from the end of that statement, that we really don't know exactly how all this pain, suffering and sorrow is in God's plan for us.. yet. With that said, I can say that I do very clearly understand how our Lord has; in scripture, turned many, very sad, sorrowful, painful experiences into a joyful, glorious, happy ones. So, when does it really matter? What is the "it" I am speaking of, you ask? The "it" is our faith and our trust in our Lord. So then we ask, "When Does "our faith" Really Matter?" Faith is kinda like an explanation of an insurance policy. Archbishop Fulton Sheen referred to prayer as a "parachute", it's there when we need it, but you hope that you don't need it. I guess faith has that same kind of effect, except that I would hope we are not only going to exercise our faith only in bad times, but also in good times. Our faith is based on a relationship with Almighty God, and Jesus came into this world to die for us, so that in His death, and resurrection, we to might be resurrected and united with Him. Keep your faith, live your faith, desire to bring your faith to life in all that you do, and share it with everybody. In our particular situation, I have no idea how we would survive it without our faith.
So we called our agent immediately (Our Blessed Mother), a long time ago. lol. We told her that we completely and openly submit to her Son in our lives. We meant it, we never said it to be pious before our friends and our family. In the essence of our faith, we couldn't care less what anyone thinks of us about it. We embrace our Lord always in our home, in all things. We openly speak of Jesus, share His life, talk about His death. We really very casually speak of Him, as if He were standing right here amongst us now in person. Our kids know I am a bit goofy and strange and down right weird, little do they know "His Love Is My Drug.." Shhhh.. lol. I am so jacked up on the Holy Spirit and all the Joy that is embedded in my heart and soul; that no matter what happens in my life I am ever strong in Him. Yes I cry, and I admit it, say what you will, it don't matter. My Lord is my God and He is my Savior. If there is anything worth dying for, it is Him. This life is temporary and we who believe, already know that. Death and pain and suffering are still hard to get a handle on, even with faith. The selfishness inside us comes out when we want, what we want, and we don't want to lose anyone, or see our loved ones suffering. But that's ok, we can still cry in our sorrow and still deeply believe and trust fully in Him.
When Chrissy and I made our vows before God back a bazillion years ago; back when we had no kids and we were both 100% healthy and nothing but glorious happy, exciting, fun days were lined up, in decades on the wall calendar, we meant every word of it. For probably the first 17+ years, maybe even more, we had so much fun, so many awesome memories, so many thousands of pictures. And that was back in the days of cameras with film, we didn't care, we use to always carry 2-4 new rolls, and lots of batteries for the camera. And back then we'd just take off on journey's to amusement parks, water parks, parks with ponds and woods. We'd walk, and bike ride, and camp, and have a complete thrill every minute. In all that we worked and prayed and thanked almighty God for healthy kids, a good, exciting, plentiful life, and we always said we trust the future to Him. We did. Well now the rubber meets the road and we need to get in touch with that "insurance company" and activate our faith into the full power mode. We trust that God's plan is the best plan, understanding it, isn't really of our concern, just trusting in it is.
What can we do? Please allow God to touch your heart like He has ours. He is an Almighty, generous, forgiving, loving God and He only wants us to love and trust Him. When we are tested, is when we can plainly show Him that we do indeed trust Him. Our pain and our tears are not in vain. As with Jesus and His death on the cross and Lazarus and his dying and rising, all were followed with so much Joy and happiness. We trust whatever plan He has for our family, that He will supply with the strength and wisdom to use the outcome to His Glory.
Fully Trusting and never doubting
As we take this journey each day,
On our knees praising and thanking
As we bow our heads and pray.

Hello Everyone,
Praise Jesus for the excitement and Joy always found in any of His parables. Maybe it's just me, and then maybe it's not. Parables to me are God's way of teaching us His truths in a fun story sort of way, and to me I further my love of parables; where I find myself sharing with others about God's word and love in a sort of parablicial story kind of way. LOL. Ok, I just made up that word, but I think you get the gist of all that. LOL, Wow. I am still the same goofy, weird, strange, solid faith believing person I was before, and I always will be. No challenges or sorrow or pain, can keep me from the love I have for my Lord. But know that my interest and desire in learning more and more about parables, gets me very Joyful inside. Today we are reflecting on Matthew 21:28-32 (The Parable of The Two Sons). Obedience to God, is what gives us eternal life. We need not understand everything put before us. We don't even have to be well versed in scripture, but if God directs our lives to Him, and the road seems hard and difficult, do not turn away. Rather buckle down and forge forward. If we are to enjoy God's eternity with Him; then there is a price to be paid, along with a heart that must obey.
Two sons and how each of them responds, is our focus today. Let us keep in mind, both sons heard the same exact command from their father. The first son in answer to his father's wishes, straight out told him, "I will not." This is a rather rude response for a son to his father. This makes us think of how rude and mean the world around us really is. Yes many hate our faith and our belief, many wish us the worst and have no fear in telling us that straight to our face. Let's further the boldness in this evil. The world around us now a days openly sins and don't really care about the consequences, or the evil in their sins, they just don't care. How sad for them, we must pray for the ignorant and disobedient people around us, as we live our lives. Now let's look at the second son who said, "I go, Sir; and went not." He straight out lied to his father, at least his brother was honest in his rudeness. But this son mislead his father with what he knew he wanted to hear; then he just disobeyed him anyway. This son never had any intention to follow his father's will. What to now make of all this, the first son was bold, but very guilty no doubt; the second son was indeed a coward, and deceitfully misleading with his intentions. Both sons represent the sinner, different, yet the same.
Living a self-satisfying life is sad, especially if you really believe we really do not need God. If you really feel content and secure because of your achievements and the title you have in this life; furthering that sense of success with a large bankbook, how sad is your life. You may have worldly success but sadly you are spiritually bankrupt. Treasure in Heaven is just that "treasure". If all we do is store away and focus on what matters here and refuse to live a life preparing for our death, how sad the life that person is living. We can have the best of intentions with everything, not even a promise has the same value as if we were to actually follow through with our words. Changing our ways, is all about changing our hearts, which changes our ways. Let's not lose that treasure, by refusing God's grace, mercy, kindness and love. Nothing in this world should matter more to us then to obey and serve our Lord with a cheerful, loving, sincere heart.
God is first, He is the only
Nothing can take His place,
At His word I must obey
Honor, love and fully embrace.
How can we really be more obedient and willing to God's request in our lives? For starters, and I know many won't understand this; but be thankful in everything that happens to you, good, bad, painful, serious, scary, whatever. Thank God for the blessing that is often times embedded inside the tears that come down your cheek, in the pain you are enduring. God has worked many miracles in the midst of some of the most serious moments in our lives. I will tell you I admit I thank Jesus for everything put in my path of life. The pain in my heart, the suffering of my wife, the challenges we face in our life, its hardships, our shortcomings. All things, I ALWAYS find it in my heart to look up to Heaven and say, "Thank you Jesus." Often times when my heart feel ripped out of my body, I say, "Thank you Lord, I have no idea why this is happening, but I know it will end with glory and praise to You." Absolute trust in a God that does not and will not ever forsake us, is truly the key to being so spiritually content in this world, that no words can ever express the Joy I feel in my heart, every single day.

Often times when my heart feel ripped out of my body, I say, "Thank you Lord, I have no idea why this is happening, but I know it will end with glory and praise to You." Absolute trust in a God that does not and will not ever forsake us, is truly the key to being so spiritually content in this world, that no words can ever express the Joy I feel in my heart, every single day.

And You Do This - Why?

Hello Everyone,
How seriously strong, bold and solid are you when it comes to sharing the truth? Are you willing to lose friends? Maybe even be singled out and possibly hated by those in complete opposition of your faith? How far are you truly willing to go? Many of you know me well enough now, if you don't just read back into the blog index, and you will know where I stand. We really need to be bold, without fear, and be willing enough to take a "hit" for it; and still refuse to move or budge from your stance. Today we are reflecting on Matthew 21:23-27 (The Authority of Jesus Questioned). How dare the chief priests and elders question Jesus. But Jesus is wise, He won't be outwitted or tricked, without the truth being revealed. They tried to corner Him with a question, "By what authority are you doing these things, and who gave you this authority?" And wham, right back at them, "Jesus answered them, "I also will ask you a question; and if you tell me the answer, then I also will tell you by what authority I do these things. The baptism of John, whence was it? From heaven or from men?" These pushy chief priests and elders feared answering our Lord's question, dodging the truth made it impossible for them to answer Jesus, so they didn't.
Oh how I would have loved to hear that conversation. Truth in it's simplest, unchanged form, revealing all that is obvious and honest in content, is often hidden and avoided by many. A mere glance into our own political times clearly shows how people in public office avoid, run from, or just plain out disregard the truths of their own actions or words. We are God's children, truth is what we live for, truth is what runs in our veins. We can't, and shouldn't avoid the truth in all things. And once we know that and we really desire to live it and share it with others, we must remain bold and not change our position to please others. Our position in that which God has taught us, must remain the same at all times. God promises us what the world can not give us, no matter it claims. Let us look at God's word for some reflection into truth, "Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God." John 3:20-21. Do you live a life like an open book? We all have secrets, but none of us have secrets held from God.
Let us further this biblical approach on what it is God says about truth. In my research I found that "truth" is spoken of about 137 times in the Bible, depending upon your translation. "To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:31-32, a rather popular scripture. Here are a few other scriptures to help you see why "truth" is so important. "Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment." Proverbs 12:19, "To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile;" Romans 2:7-9. Please take the time to spend time, as much time as you can, in scripture. Study, learn, and live God's word every single day.
So where does all this all go for us in our lives? I like to present challenges and ideas for all of us to make our lives better in God's sight. We know we are not perfect, not by any means, but we know that in God's mercy we are embraced by His love. Let us take the only natural next step when someone stands up for us; by standing up for them. What are you afraid of? What matters so much in your life, that you must deny Him and offended Him, by not defending Him? I live a life in my faith that I don't feel I need to apologize, I don't intend to be mean or rude, just truthful. Sometimes truth cuts deep, and sometimes truth makes it impossible for us to justify sin we are entwined into in our lives. I will be the first to admit my own faults, and my own sins. If we all focus on what we have done and do our best to fix it, ask for forgiveness and make it right with God, we will live a life of truth. And the truth we live with God will indeed set us free.
BE BOLD my brothers and sisters. Be Bold.

He Who Is Least Is Greater

Hello Everyone,
Jesus Christ will never perish, He shall be here for all times, and throughout eternity. I am so excited and so thrilled to always be given the chance, to share the Joy found in Jesus. It is beyond words being able to share all of this Joy inside my heart with all of you. Today we will reflect upon Matthew 11:2-11 (Messenger from John The Baptist / Jesus Praises John The Baptist). Today is the 3rd Sunday of Advent, a super special day as we draw closer to Christmas, and today is also the celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Busy day indeed, but that makes it all the more reason to celebrate. In today's blog let us look at John the Baptist, I really, really admire this man. He was a solid man and in scripture, he certainly stood his ground, and he knew his lifes purpose, and what he must do to help save others. Death, and prison held no bars over him. He is always portrayed as a true beacon to our faith in most movies and writings. So here we are about two thousand years later, and he still hasn't been silenced, that speaks volumes of what we should be doing with our own lives. If in my life, if I can be but a mere fraction of what he was, I will have served my life's purpose. Verse 11, is an inspiration, "Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he."
John the Baptist should be someone we all should try to be. I don't mean by eating locusts, I know I couldn't stomach even the thought of that. Ewwww. I think I'll stick with simple mac and cheese meals. lol. In my research I came across this, "What we mean by "a voice crying in the wilderness" today is "a warning voice no one heeds" the wilderness is metaphorical, a lack of sense or reason." Excerpt from "Brush Up Your Bible!" by Michael Macrone. I guess even in today's times we can relate to the same rejection and deaf ear so many have; when it comes to scripture, and Jesus, and our Blessed Mother and so many other facts that so many know. How sad the eternity, people chose when they know well, and they keep ignoring that lone voice sharing truth, and it will result in their own demise. John has sacrificed his own desires to help others have an eternity with God. That example is super wonderful and down right exciting to learn about; to be a full sacrifice unto your neighbor in order that with God's help you find complete contentment in living your live fully for Him.
Even King Herod did all he could to shut John the Baptist down and shut him up. Not!!!, he couldn't do it, that is such an inspiration knowing that one of the most powerful kings of that time had no power over the truth. They didn't even have technology or a blog, or a published book to share from John. John's mere words of truth being spread around the region was enough, to create a following that drew others to Jesus. His words resonated in many hearts, as we can do in our lives with others. Our presence need not be the focus. I ask you to be that voice in the wilderness, the wilderness of people who truly pay no attention; to the warning signs or the obvious fact that life will end for them, as it has for all those before us. John was the last voice in the old testament, to basically direct everyone to the "new" testament, Jesus. Let us all work together, helping guide and assist everyone to safety into the arms of Jesus.
No Greater Life Than That
For no greater life then that of this
Serving our Lord should be all we seek for,
No greater life we don't ever wish to miss
For serving Him our King and our Savior.
For like John we all should all be
Drawing others to Him as our life purpose,
Just try to be serious as He is in me
And trust me when I say you will be breathless.
For God alone must be the one
The only one all our life should matter,
For when it is over and it's done
A life focused fully on Jesus will make you happier.
For no greater life then that
Then to be the servant of the Lord,
For there are times we are life's doormat
And it is then that He is who we must move towards.

God of power and mercy, you blessed the Americas at Tepeyac with the presence of the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe. May her prayers help all men and women to accept each other as brothers and sisters. Through your justice present in our hearts, may your peace reign in the world. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Sorry for the delay. With Chrissy in the hospital going on Day 14, my mind, my heart and my full undivided attention is on her. I intend to try to get up and running by the weekend. I will keep everyone posted.
Chrissy's condition as of today:
Lung Cancer - left lung, extremely severe.
Emphysema - which has only intensified.
Shortness of breathe and a low oxygen blood %.
Oxygen % in her blood as at 81%

Hello Everyone,
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Today let us give thanks for everything, good and bad. You know the bad stuff does get us down on our knees, and even though there is sorrow or pain; just the fact that we are on our knees is wonderful. God's will and plan and purpose aren't always understood or clear, we must trust in Him in all things, to know that it is He who will be there for us. He helps us and guides us and carries us through.
So today's reflection is all about Thanksgiving.
Let us be thankful in all things.
We are grateful and thankful for:
Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ
Our Blessed Dear Precious Mother
Our Parents (mums and dads)
Our Family (spouse & kids)
Our Friends (on all levels)
Our Extended Family (cousins)
The love and prayers of our family and friends.

Our Co-workers (in ministries and/or jobs)

Do Not Be Led Astray

Hello Everyone,
How serious are you seeking out God's will in your life? Are you spending all of your life going after Him? Or do figure, well, whatever, if I find out great, and if I don't, oh well. Please don't be the person who don't really care. Devote your life praising Him and worshiping Him and loving Him. In His grace and mercy and all the trials you will face, little by little you will better understand God's will for you in your life. Today's gospel is as wonderful as it always is Luke 21:1-4 (Destruction of The Temple Foretold). Today's gospel in essence warns us of the judgment to come, and the dire consequences if we refuse Him and reject Jesus. In today's reflection I feel led to help direct you to live a 24/7/365 life for Jesus, like I do. To me, "All is Jesus, if not, then all is nothing." What is our point and purpose here? Obviously to make sure we make it to Heaven. And if you don't think that is something we must consider each day, you should. We only get one chance to travel through this life and to give our allegiance to our Lord. If we fail at that simple task, then indeed we shall fail for all eternity.
Take a moment and think about what this life is about. It will only take a moment, that's how non purposefully this life is, unless it's all about Jesus. If your goal is to own a big house, a bunch fancy cars and have a whole lot of money because you are worried about maintaining your "status" or "pride"; then what I have to say will mean nothing to you. You know it's a two way street, those people who place all their hopes, dreams and goals on the world, don't usually place any meaningful value on the things of God. Just like those who are engulfed in Jesus, His Mother, the Word, prayer and eternity, place very little value on the things of this world. So what do you think life, your life, is all about? Maybe that MBA, that fancy expensive Harvard degree, your first million. I don't know what your eyes, mind and heart are glued to? None of that matters to me. Nothing matters to me but Jesus. Loving Him, trusting Him, adoring Him, honoring Him, and praising Him, in all things, good and bad. He must be thee only absolute center of your every thought.
We must keep in mind that this world can lead you astray, devour you and keep you away from God for all eternity. Don't be fooled by the fancy wrapping of worldly pleasures and success; all of that has absolute zero meaning in eternity. What we need to be focusing on here in this life, is preparation for the next. If you don't you will for all eternity, regret it, and you won't be able to change it for all eternity. How many of us when are preparing for a vacation or even a short trip for a couple days, spends hours and possibly even weeks preparing and day dreaming about the vacation, that reward, the fun. Well then what is so different about that and our faith? That's simple: The long drawn out plans for some trip somewhere won't be of any benefit for our eternity, but planning for our earthly exit is fully focusing on what we hope and plan to happen.
My challenge to you is this: Block out everything for one day, seriously. No kids, no talking, no other plans. On that day of all you do is pray and read scripture. Maybe write love letters to Jesus, and Mary. Allow the Spirit that is within you to come alive, and once you allow it and you finally shut up, you will be amazed in a very positive way, how truly wonderful of a day you are having.
ALL FOR JESUS
Live your life with Him alone
Do not be led a stray,
Build each day like a stone
And pray and pray and pray.
Nothing else should matter
Jesus must be number one,
Don't be mislead by a charmer
For once you have Jesus all is done.
All for Jesus every minute
Don't give in to selfishness,
All for Jesus without limit
Only surrender to faithfulness.
Do you see what this all about
How it's all about the Christ,
The things in this world we can do without
The world will deceive you and entice.
So give your allegiance to the one
The only one who deserves it all,
He is the one who is the craftsman
The only one who forgives our shortfalls.

Hello Everyone,
How serious are you seeking out God's will in your life? Are you spending all of your life going after Him? Or do figure, well, whatever, if I find out great, and if I don't, oh well. Please don't be the person who don't really care. Devote your life praising Him and worshiping Him and loving Him. In His grace and mercy and all the trials you will face, little by little you will better understand God's will for you in your life. Today's gospel is as wonderful as it always is Luke 21:1-4 (Destruction of The Temple Foretold). Today's gospel in essence warns us of the judgment to come, and the dire consequences if we refuse Him and reject Jesus. In today's reflection I feel led to help direct you to live a 24/7/365 life for Jesus, like I do. To me, "All is Jesus, if not, then all is nothing." What is our point and purpose here? Obviously to make sure we make it to Heaven. And if you don't think that is something we must consider each day, you should. We only get one chance to travel through this life and to give our allegiance to our Lord. If we fail at that simple task, then indeed we shall fail for all eternity.
Take a moment and think about what this life is about. It will only take a moment, that's how non purposefully this life is, unless it's all about Jesus. If your goal is to own a big house, a bunch fancy cars and have a whole lot of money because you are worried about maintaining your "status" or "pride"; then what I have to say will mean nothing to you. You know it's a two way street, those people who place all their hopes, dreams and goals on the world, don't usually place any meaningful value on the things of God. Just like those who are engulfed in Jesus, His Mother, the Word, prayer and eternity, place very little value on the things of this world. So what do you think life, your life, is all about? Maybe that MBA, that fancy expensive Harvard degree, your first million. I don't know what your eyes, mind and heart are glued to? None of that matters to me. Nothing matters to me but Jesus. Loving Him, trusting Him, adoring Him, honoring Him, and praising Him, in all things, good and bad. He must be thee only absolute center of your every thought.
We must keep in mind that this world can lead you astray, devour you and keep you away from God for all eternity. Don't be fooled by the fancy wrapping of worldly pleasures and success; all of that has absolute zero meaning in eternity. What we need to be focusing on here in this life, is preparation for the next. If you don't you will for all eternity, regret it, and you won't be able to change it for all eternity. How many of us when are preparing for a vacation or even a short trip for a couple days, spends hours and possibly even weeks preparing and day dreaming about the vacation, that reward, the fun. Well then what is so different about that and our faith? Hello Everyone,
What a title.. What in the world does that mean? How do you give out of your poverty? The sentence doesn't make any sense. If you are in poverty, how do you give out of it? That is a great question, I am so glad you asked. Today let us reflect on a very simple gospel that reveals a truth that digs deep in many of us, and that is true charity. Today we are reflecting upon Luke 21:1-4 (The Widows Offering). One thing I especially loved about this gospel is that Jesus, even in the busyness of His ministry, notices the true sacrifice of this woman over all the others, that gave from their wealth. Ok, I sort of alluded to the reality of what this gospel is all about. How far down deep do you dig to give? How much would you consider enough to give? Have you ever given so much that you even raised an eyebrow and thought, ouch, maybe that was too much? Or are you like so many who $1 (one dollar) the weekly basket, while in your other pocket you actually keep all your money? Please don't misunderstand, there are many very poor people who can only dollar the basket each week, and God Bless their generosity. Hmmm I know that strikes a sensitive cord with many, I don't apologize if it did. Not out of being rude, but out of being bold. But for the so many who truly give and do the right thing each week when it comes to sharing and giving, my hats off to you.
So let us look at this, "gave out of her poverty" statement, and really see what our Lord is talking about. Well for starters, we all know there is a huge difference between wealth and poverty, abundance and nothing, plentiful and minimal. You get the idea. So just by knowing all that, we already really have a handle on "gave out of her poverty". Let's say each week a person has about $100 of money that they can play with; you know, kinda play money after the bills are paid and food is on the table. Fine, now that would mean you have some extra money beyond your needs to spend. Now on the other hand, let's say like so many people in our world today; after you get paid at work and you pay your bills and put food on the table, you have nothing at all left over. In fact you need more money to just make ends meet. You have nothing, many of us know that as living in poverty. Now say the person who had the extra money to spend and the one with nothing to spend went to Mass together. When the basket came around the wealthier person put in $40 and the person who had nothing put in $10. I think is rhetorical to our Lord's teaching, but who put in more money?
We all know the answer is, right, the person who put the $10 in the basket, put much more money than that of the one who put in $40. Now mathematically we know that is not true; but know that when it comes to charity and giving, math has nothing to do with it. If someone gives out of their surplus (their extra), they didn't really give from the heart, or should I say, they didn't give with a leaping step of faith. But if you give from the very little you have, and it takes away from the poverty that you live on, then you are giving out of your poverty. In others words, you can't afford to give anything, yet you still do. You have obviously placed more faith in God then in the very money you need to survive on. That is a super neat way to give, in complete trust and faith that God will provide if you run out. My rule of thumb, remember in a past blog I shared some of my rules for my kids with church. Giving is one of the key essential parts of our faith. You always give whether you can afford to or not. Period.
From "Respect My Father's House" blog posted 11/9/10 4. Always put something in the offering every week, no matter what, always give. Yes we all face challenges and we have times where it is impossible to (also) give to your church, my house rule is simple, if we have little we must share it with Jesus, if we have a lot, we share even more, and the hardest of all, if we have nothing, even from that we must share. I kid you not.

Dig deep in them pockets
Look for charity you wish to share,
Dig deep in them pockets
And give and give if you dare.
Don't lie to yourself as you give
And think that dollar can go in the offering,
Unless of cause all you have is that
Then indeed you are truly giving.
Dig deep in them pockets
Go below that extra line of funds,
Dig deep in them pockets
And really give if your extras in the thousands.
God don't require a set amount
He only wants it to be given trustingly,
God wants us trust fully in Him
So give always, from your poverty.
