Sell All You Have

BEADS OF JOY 10-14-12

“Sell All You Have”
©2012 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,
Today’s gospel can be looked upon as a very hard teaching indeed; but instead let us rather see it as a wakeup call. Many of us have possessions that we cherish, enjoy, and love to share with others; but with that said, we must realize that some of us may have possessions that we worship and cherish beyond what we may ever admit to. Today we find Jesus speaking to a man, who seems to be a man of wealth and possessions. Let us look at Mark 10:17-30 (Treasure In Heaven). While having nice things isn’t a bad thing; and while having much treasure in wealth is also not a bad thing, let us not lose sight of God who has blessed you with these things. Many people live this life thinking, “Look at what I have done, how wonderful and how smart I am.” That will be the beginning of a very bad direction for our thoughts to go. We must be in the right mindset with what this life is truly all about.
Let us consider thinking like this, here is a story to explain it: One day a man, happen to come upon a place where he saw God. He thought, "Wow, I see God." Well the man came over to God and God and turned and looked at the man and said, “I have been waiting for you.” This startled the man, but he gained his composure and asked, “Me? Why are you waiting for me?” God then said to the man, “To ask you for a few things.” This was something the man did not understand, but since he did believe in God, he was open to the thought of listening and learning about what God wanted to speak to him about. To begin with God said to the man, “I see you are living a comfortable life.” The man responded, “Yes, I have a good job, a healthy family and future that looks very promising.” God said, “I will ask for a few things before you leave me.” The man immediately said, “Yes Lord, what can I do for you.”

God said, “I want your home.” The man said, “Ok, you can have it.”
God said, “Do you have a wallet? I want that to.” The man reluctantly said, “Ok?”
God said, “I see you have a car, I want that.” The man said, “What? OK??”
God said, “Ah, a Most Blessed family.” The man jumped up and said, “What?? You want them to??” God responded immediately, “Yes I want them to!”
The man was shocked he sat back and said, “Lord you have taken everything that I have, everything that I own, everything that I possess, everyone that I love, leaving me with nothing??” God got real close to the man, put His arm around the man’s shoulder and pulled him in, whispering in his ear. “Take all these things I have asked from you, handle them with great care and respect them and continue to use them honoring me. Remember that all these things are mine first and always shall be, but I shall entrust them to you.” The man was now smiling ear to ear knowing that he had not lost one thing, he didn’t have to lose anything in order to love and worship God. This man did learn a great deal about what all these treasures in his life now meant to him.
God offers to each of us treasure, treasure beyond what the world could or would ever consider treasure. These blessings are priceless and these blessings are from Him, let us live a life free from pride and selfishness in these treasures, instead let us live our lives possessing them for His glory, honoring Him with them; knowing that they are and have always been His first. The treasures we must seek in this life should be the treasures that are from God alone. Never let anything in this life come between you and Him. This will be a most blessed legacy to pass onto your children and grandchildren; many generations will be blessed by the choices you make.

Jesus, I Trust in You.”

My Strength Found In Prayer

BEADS OF JOY 10-01-12 “My Strength Found In Prayer”
©2012 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,

As many of you know we have our share of families’ challenges. And of cause this economy wreaks havoc to no end on top of everything. But today I am writing a note to assure you; that in our prayerful community of our prayer ministry, I find such tremendous strength. That is why I try to keep it flowing 24/7 with an open invitation to all to join me. I pray that all of you to, like me, as you face the challenges find strength in our united prayers. Our family suffers with many tears from time to time; Chrissy don’t deserve what she is suffering with. Watching a beautiful, loving, caring mom become frail and weak before our eyes rips me apart inside. I would gladly take that cancer entirely from her lungs and jam it up in mine, and suffer for her, die need be it that be God’s will, just so she don’t have to suffer any more, ever again.

There aren’t any simple fixes to all these issues, our future path is unknown, and the outcome to so many of these issues could be devastating in their own right individually. But with that all said, know that my own personal TRUST and FAITH in my LORD is solid. I’ll correct that, it’s not just solid, it’s ROCK SOLID. Jesus alone gives me so much strength I can’t find enough words or expressions to share it to the level it rightfully deserves.

A quick little background will help you understand the gist of impact. In the past, the earlier year of our marriage and the bringing up our 5 kids was spectacular. I was in business with my dad, a 25% owner, I ran our business and my freedoms were tremendous. We had several cars, a summer home in Shohola, PA; and a brand new camper set up in a seasonal campsite in south Jersey (Port Republic, NJ), about 20 minutes out of Atlantic City. Money was never an issue; our weekend spending was beyond stupid. The money pit, even if it ran dry, always got refilled every single week. Put it this way, what I make weekly now, we use to just blow away on the weekends back then. Have you ever gone shopping and just swiped your card, and never thought for a second or even cared how much you just spent; well that’s how we use to live and spend back then. I wouldn’t say we were rich, per say; but the flow of cash was so steady that money was never ever an issue… like ever… J

God has taught me much about respecting what He has given me and my family. Back then we gave tremendously to our church and we often times helped others when they were struggling, that was always a normal part of our lives. Generosity was key, that’s why I get pissed off when I see wealthy families I clearly know who can afford to; stubbornly hoard their cash while they watch others struggle. God blesses us so that we can bless others.

Fast Forward……Now reality check, but so much thanksgiving as we struggle meeting our daily and monthly needs as a family. Chrissy’s health issues are front and center in our everyday choices and needs. Meeting her nutritional daily needs every single day is impossible and something we truly cannot maintain. She is supposed to be on a high protein diet. On top of that we have car challenges, computer challenges, food challenges and my hours at work changes way too much at times, and they are even decreasing as each week passes. No complaints and please no pity. Just facts, and the chance for me to share with all of you, how real we really are. Thank you all for your prayers, thoughts and a HUGE thank you for joining me in prayer as much as so many of you do. It’s the greatest gift you have given to me and my family.

I embrace poverty with a heart of love, I am ever thankful and grateful for the change; I'm not happy that Chrissy is suffering. The wounds that bind her, hurt me. I would die for her in a heart beat so that she wouldn't have to suffer any longer. All this worldly crap means nothing when the one you love so much is suffering.

Jesus, I Trust in You.”

Extraordinary Man of Faith

BEADS OF JOY 9-17-12 “Extraordinary Man of Faith”
©2012 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,

This morning we read of a certain Centurion who demonstrated his extraordinary faith; such a strong faith that even Jesus was astonished. Today we are reflecting on Luke 7:1-10 (A Centurion’s Faith); “When Jesus heard this he marveled at him, and turned and said to the multitude that followed him, I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith." When we are seeking our Lord, not only to have our prayers answered, but in building our relationship with Him; do we seek Him confidently knowing who He really is? Are we even bold enough in our own lives to step outside of our comfort zone to seek Jesus? In direct reflection to today’s gospel, let us keep in mind this Centurion was a Roman Official seeking out after Jesus; knowing our Lord’s healing power and believing in Him in his approach. This man was taking a most daring risk with his own life to seek out Jesus. But we must note that he remained bold and did not back down, and continued to have a conversation with our Lord.

How courageous are you? Do you love those around you so much that you would approach Jesus on behalf of another, regardless of who is around when you approach Him? I have always said throughout the years, “You can rely on me spiritually, no matter what I shall always remain at my post, even if I must die here.” I am using myself as an example only to show you this; that even me, a sinner, a regular Joe with no formal education, no doctorate, nothing but pure faith in Jesus, that even I have the strength (through Jesus) to remain strong in my faith. Let us never lose heart, or ever be intimidated by what another might say; rather be strong and solid and loyal to God alone. For in the end, at the end of this life, when the smoke clears and all the noise and activities and plans and calendars of this life fade away; it’ll be just you and God standing alone together face to face. That my friends is our life’s reality, a reality we can prepare for now while we still have time.

Do you have the backbone, when it comes to your faith? Will you step out in faith boldly proclaiming your love and faith in Jesus Christ? The time is now and the place is in your heart to begin. With humility and confidence we place everything on the line and we follow a God who loves us and forgives us; and who always gives us His mercy and love no matter what we do. We must remember that God does not love us because we love Him; He loves us no matter how we feel about Him. His love for us is not based on conditions or if you do, I do; His love is unconditional at all times. Let us follow Him and love Him, by His example of unconditional love for us. God is always in charge, remembering and knowing that keeps all things in perspective. Have a great day my sister and brothers, God Bless.

Who Do You Say I Am?

BEADS OF JOY 9-16-12 “Who Do You Say I Am?”
©2012 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,

What a question to begin with, but an important one we all must consider, either in private or in public. Today’s gospel can be found in Mark 8:27-35 (Who Do People Say That I Am?). I think it’s rather remarkable that even today; two thousand plus years later, so many people have such a challenge trying to identify who Jesus is. It was through Peter’s faith that he was the first disciple to identify Jesus boldly and directly. But honestly why is it so difficult for others to say the same thing? I think I know why. Look at what Jesus said at the end of today’s passage, “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.” That is some heavy stuff for anyone seeking to find pleasure, success and wealth in this life.

So if we were to identify Jesus as Lord and Savior and we acknowledge His Lordship, our life would be different; different how? He is asking us to deny our own selfish desires of what we want, and then He said we would have to carry our own cross and while carrying that cross we are to follow after Jesus, and that’s not even the end of it, there’s more. He further said we must lose our lives, lose our lives???? Oh my, so I can’t live my life, my way, doing what I want, and what I desire when I want, with whom I want. And then He finishes that thought with, whoever loses their lives will be the ones who actually save their lives. I love this scripture!! So let’s understand this more clearly, we must live a life totally and completely submissive to Our Lord’s wishes and Will for us, and forget our own personal desires and goals. Who on earth would want to do that? What a waste of life, what a waste of time??? NO IT’S NOT!!! Think about it. Life here on earth is what about 50-60-70-80 year’s long, ok maybe some will see their 90’s and even 100, then what? I think the real question is: Where do you wish to spend eternity? For where your heart is, there your treasure will be… And remember eternity is time without measure... endless.

This is indeed a very hard teaching, a scripture more than most likely no one will really even attempt to even try to live. I say boo who: Just do it!!! I promise you will never ever regret giving up pretty much everything and then devoting as much time as you possibly can to Him; in prayer, in fellowship, in sharing, writing, talking, celebrating and telling everyone of your love for Him. It was the spring of 1983 for me (29 years ago), that marked the end of the old me that lived for me and pretty much excluded Jesus from most of, if not all of my life. But a new me was born-again, not a mini-me (lol), but rather a spiritually awaken me, a very alive part of me that has made my life absolutely incredible. I am forever on cloud nine, bubbly excited, wound up, very optimistic and I always filled with tremendous joy and tremendous energy. Just the mere thought of Jesus, or Mary, or scripture, or sharing my faith with others, or uniting in prayer and the excitement levels inside me reach earth shaking levels that wined me up.

I challenge you today:
To begin living a life that completely, fully puts Jesus first in all that you do, all that you are responsible for and all that you so desire. Make Him the center of your everything, every single day.

My Friends,
Thank you all for having patience with me. My duties at home and my work schedule and everything else that seems to find its way into my life, distract me from this wonderful, blessed daily blog. This month (September) I have made a commitment to rejuvenate topics, retreats, weekly journeys.
Of cause everything I share in some way always involves Our Most Blessed Wonderful Beautiful Blessed Mother. I really love her so much. This newly revitalized blog will hopefully grab your hearts and your Spirits even more than before. I will take you on a "Marital Journey", a "Servant's Journey", and a hidden specialty I wrote many many years ago, back when me and Fr. Peter Calabrese use to spend so much time together at Our Lady of Fatima's Shrine in Lewiston, NY. We use to live 6 miles away from the Shrine, need I say more; I practically lived there. When I first met Fr. Julio, he asked if I'd like to live on the grounds, because I was there so much. I told him, if my wife and 5 kids can move in with me... YES !!!! anyway I am diverting away from what I was saying. Back then I was working on a project called, "The Career Rosary". Yes it is as intriguing as it sounds. I will share all my written treasures of the past 29 years. That is actually 13 boxes of journals and notes and writings. I hope the Spiritual future for all of us is exciting and incredible and we all get even closer to Jesus...
I really love you guys with all my heart. Hold tight and watch this blog explode with excitement and Joy unlimited..

First Things First

BEADS OF JOY 8-13-12 “First Things First”
©2012 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,
Life throws you curves and without a doubt many of us suffer through situations that are not always of our own choosing. In fact many can say, “We keep having challenges, and we keep having battles.” But with that said, nothing should ever come before our relationship with Jesus… Nothing and No one! Not even family members, parents, spouses, children, boyfriends or girlfriends. Jesus says in Matthew 19:29, “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.”
Our spiritual journey in its whole experience… is a single-minded journey, in that we are the only ones that can choose to be saved; and we are the only ones who can develop a relationship with Jesus. Only we can live with some sort of moral compass in obeying the commandments; our sins are just that “ours”, we can be misled, but in the end we make that final choice to sin. On this journey we do understand, that we can pray for each other, but we can’t save each other. I know this is a hard saying without a doubt, and trying to live in some sort of balance isn’t always easy; just know that with prayer, fellowship and a sincere heart loving God, all these things are possible.
I share this today with thoughts of my own challenges at times, where my spiritual life and time with our Lord and our Lady, get in the way of my responsibilities, my relationship challenges and all the stress and burdens of balancing “life” in the place I am living it. Does that make sense? I hope so. We all have crosses to bear, but do our crosses lead us to sin, because of the stress or the selfish need of something. Or do we simply throw it to the wind, and at times literally not care, not even care about the consequences of our actions. I don’t know, I think we all flow through that wave of emotion from time to time. I do my best to stay on the straight and narrow path, let me tell you, it’s not so easy at times. Sometimes the path is impossible to stay on because of so many reasons. I say this to you, remember this scripture to give you strength, I use it a lot to stay strong.
Matthew 7:13-14 (The Narrow and Wide Gates)
13 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.”
Simply keep Jesus close to your heart, living a life pleasing to Him; make choices that you would make if He was right there standing with you when you make them. Never let others mislead your heart, your mind or your spirit. Jesus must be your only co-pilot. This journey home isn’t going to be easy, challenges push and tug at us, some break our hearts. No matter what… never allow this world, its lust, its pleasures, its greed, its wealth, and its treasures to ever sway you away from Jesus. For in the end, all that will matter is “Jesus”.

"Jesus, I Trust in You."

The Abundant Life

BEADS OF JOY 8-12-12 “The Abundant Life”
©2012 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,
Today’s gospel is a most Joyous message, today we read John 6:41-51 (Jesus Speaks of The Bread of Life). Who is this man? They looked at Jesus as the son of Mary and Joseph; the only parents the crowd knew were Jesus’ parents. How incomprehensible this must have been for those who thought they knew who Jesus was. Scripture tells us who Jesus is, who His parents are, and why He is here. Back in Jesus’ time they only had the Old Testament and few understood the scriptures that predicted and knew about Jesus’ coming, everyone else had to seriously have strong faith. The New Testament that tells us how everything was, is what they were living for us at that precise moment, to learn from. Let us be thankful how detailed in its simplicity the New Testament kept so much for us to learn by; God knew we’d need and desire an account for the very life of His Son.
The Bread of Life” What is this? Can this be a person? We must know that it is only through our relationship with God Himself that we will be able to attain this incredible life. Our acceptance of Jesus is our acceptance of Life Eternal. Our ears must be open with a desire to only want more. Let us keep our eyes and ears fully focused on Jesus; do not allow the interference of the noise of the world we are in, to distort what our heart knows and our Spirit urns for. God’s word is just that “God’s Word”. The Spirit within us desires only to learn, and to grow; so that we can be “transformed” to better understand this most Joyous gift of the abundant life.  This is why death, even death upon a cross could not kill Jesus. Jesus is the one true Bread of Life. We know that our Blessed Mother speaks to us about her Son’s love for us; with that said, we know that Jesus speaks to us about His Father’s love for us.
Do you accept Jesus into your life? Do you accept Him as the one true Bread of Life? Why would you doubt His Word? God sent His Son Jesus to us, to save us, to tell us of the love His Father has for us. God gave His most precious Son to save the world; knowing well that He must die in order to save us. This world has no clue what it is missing out on when it rejects Jesus. Our worldly life has no desire for Spiritual Nourishment. This world only seeks for itself to be satisfied; and to be fulfilled with its lust (untamed sexual desires) and greed (hunger for money) and love of earthly things (possession of lots of stuff). We must only seek and only desire that one true bread of life that God freely gives us. That is all we need in this life… for in that, we prepare ourselves for the world to come. Lust, greed and possession do only one thing to God’s children; they bury us alive into the depths of this world and they keep us far from Jesus, which in turn keeps us eternally away from God. And that is something we don’t want.
Jesus, I Trust in You.”

Nice To Be Back

BEADS OF JOY 7-28-12 “Nice To Be Back”
©2012 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,
I’d like to say it feels wonderful to back online again with all my sisters and brothers; I really missed praying with all of you. But I really needed this time to step away from everything in my life for just a moment; and focus fully on Jesus and Mary and my family. You know I started doing online ministry about 6 years ago. I have always been online, since the internet actually began; sharing my faith by way of email; but with social media and the ability to blog and tweet, opportunities to share has increased tremendously.
Let us take this moment to Thank God for allowing us to have this awesome freedom to share His love with others. Let us open our hearts to do all we can, to be more like Jesus in our love, in our forgiveness and in our mercy towards others. This world does not revolve around any of us; we are all in this together, with our lives, we should really be looking out for one another constantly. Our main focus in my opinion is that we should be doing all we can; to help lead others to the eternal life they too can have with Jesus in Heaven. That’s always a big focus in my life. I am not an aggressive, forceful Catholic. Rather with love and prayer I try my best to help lead others to Jesus, every single day.
We are very fortunate to have our Blessed Mother to help us lead others to her Son. She loves us with a most sincere loving heart, and she too wants us to be with her Son. That is why I promote the Rosary so much, once you allow the Joy and Peace and Love of the Rosary into your hearts and mind; you can’t help but love our Lord and His Mother with all your heart. Jesus is here with us every day; take a moment to read this passage of God’s word and really see how much God really loves YOU. In The Gospel of John read our Lord's very words.
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit (John 14:15-21)
15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

Journal Entry 7.5.12 - Annunciation

BEADS OF JOY 7-05-12 “Journal Entry - Annunciation”
©2012 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

Dear Lord,

Today I begin to look at each of the mysteries, in the order they occurred in Your life Lord, this will take me way more than twenty days; because there will be days I focus on other aspects of my faith and my love for You Lord. And what better way to begin this part of this fantastic journey, the only way to begin it, but with The Annunciation. Our Blessed Mother, Your Mother Lord had no clue of the depths of what was about to begin. Yet in her obedience, even with much uncertainty, and we read she was even troubled by what she has been asked; she still very bravely, trustingly said “Yes”. Oh my Lord, I am so happy, I am so thrilled that she did say yes. Her example of pure faith and trust has helped me so much through the years. Whatever plans Mary may have had in her simple life, she put it all aside to take a path; an unknown path, the very path God desired her to take. She no longer desired to seek her own interests, rather she trusted fully in Power of the Holy Spirit, and God’s plan and promise to her.

Looking at The Annunciation, I realize that all of us like Mary are faced with a decision; a really important decision, a decision that will change our life, a decision that will in many ways set forth a path of uncertainties; a decision that in the end will bring You Lord to us. Surrendering to You Lord has been my life’s greatest Joy; there is no question that I abandoned all my own selfish interests decades ago, and I am grateful that I did, all I want and desire is You Lord.

One thing is certain: I must continue to fully trust in You Lord. In our lives we will experience many times when we will have to make choices; choices that will either keep us focused on choosing You Lord, or draw us even further away from You. But with Mary The Annunciation (the choice) she made; there was only one time for her to make that choice, and she made the right choice. As I reflect upon this most incredible mystery my heart is literally filled with Joy, yes that was pun and truth. Thank you Lord for choosing Mary, in end and throughout all time; she has proved to be an excellent choice for us to learn by and to follow.

Mary my Mother, I pray that one day your fiat may become mine. I pray that in all I do Mother, I always make the choices that lead me to Jesus, that honor Him and show Him that He is always first in my life.

Your son,
Jimmy (The Rosary Man)

Journal Entry 7.4.12 - Silence

BEADS OF JOY 7-04-12 “Journal Entry - Silence”

Dear Lord,
It is in the silence of my heart that greatly loves You Lord. There is no other language in the world that is so much more powerful than silence. It is in my silence each day, while I am busy, or helping someone, or tending to my responsibilities as a husband (care-taker) or dad; it is there that I have uninterrupted conversations with You every single day. No one knows I am speaking to You, no one can interrupt the comfort You give me, and no one can stop me from speaking to You; and it is there that I listen for You Lord, openly and ready. That silent secret voice we share allows me to love You so much my Lord, and I am so excited and thrilled to be allowed to love You, like I do. We will remain to keep that communication link a secret between You and me. I just love how I can literally pray to you 24/7/365, through the voice in my mind that is linked directly to You Lord.
And it is in my silence that I really more clearly understand Your Cross. In that silence I scream and cry for the pain You had to endure. I understand that Your suffering made it possible so that I would not have to suffer; Your love for me is immeasurable, as is mine for You Lord. And even though I only slightly touched upon this Lord; my silence is silent before You, for it there that I listen to You. I know well that when the mouth is flapping the ears aren’t listening. I stand before You Lord, always ready and always silent for You to lead me. Your favorite place to touch our hearts and fill our ears, is in our silence before You.
We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls.”
~Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Wisdom enters through love, silence, and mortification. It is great wisdom to know how to be silent and to look at neither the remarks, nor the deeds, nor the lives of others.”
~St John of the Cross, OCD
Sorry Lord... if this entry seems a bit shorter than usual, I am just practicing my silence before You. LOL J

Journal Entry 7.3.12 - Love Him

BEADS OF JOY 7-03-12 “Journal Entry - Love Him”
©2012 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

Dear Lord,
With the sentiment of my last entry, I’d like to begin with that thought, “whatever You so desire for me, is exactly what I desire Lord.” My truest deepest love rests in trusting You my Lord. I often wonder what Your Mother may have been thinking while raising You, picking You up when you fell, taking care of Your cuts and Your colds when You needed her to nurture You. And then after all that, I think of what she may have been thinking while standing at the foot of Your Cross, knowing well that You were suffering horribly. Where is this all going Lord? Today my thoughts are that of “LOVE”, as our Lady’s love for You shines for all eternity, so too does the love God has for His Will to be lived out in my life, and the chance I will have to serve You exactly the way You so desire me to. I simply love that Lord. A rather obvious observation I have made; is that our Lady always remained silent and listened… listening for God, silent in the Father’s presence, open to His wishes. It was in a dream or through others that God’s message made it to Our Lady’s and Joseph’s ears. I pray that my life remains open to receive You in whatever way You so desire to communicate with me.

Our Blessed Mother I now turn to you, with a much clearer understanding of your obedience, it really is that simple. All we must do is LOVE Him, no matter what. And our love must continue to deepen, especially when times get difficult and we don’t understand the pain and the sorrow and the sword we feel ripping us apart, not with only our own suffering, but also while we watch someone we love suffer. Please continue to guide my heart in understanding how pain and suffering in and of itself is love; for by it we are drawn to love Jesus even more. Mama, I will look at your Sons suffering as one of the most blessed examples to refer to. Jesus had to die and suffer for me so that I didn’t have to. It is love that is the driving force behind that choice; it was the Father’s love for me, and in turn the entire Trinities (Father, Son and Holy Spirit’s) love for me that allowed Jesus to suffer and die, in the end it was all about uniting us with God, which is love.
As this journey with You and Your Mother continues Lord, I ask for Your hand to continue to guide me and lead me to You. My love for You Lord is beyond every breath I breathe; beyond the blood that flows, beyond anything this live could ever be. I surrender all my desires, all my wants, all my needs over to You. There is nothing on this planet that would or could ever receive the love I have for You. I would rather die physically than ever be separated from You.

Inside of my soul, my love desires to see only You Lord; that is why preparing for Heaven right now for is so important. Looking at what hell is in its simplest of explanations: It’s complete and eternal separation for You Lord, I can’t even think about that, utter eternal darkness, to never ever see You or be in Your presence.
Jesus always spoke of love to the disciples and to us, “Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'” Matthew 22:37-39

The 13th Chapter of Corinthian’s says it all…
Love Is Indispensable

And yet I will show you the most excellent way.
13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child; I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

O Eternal Lord, I ask that You see me in Your heart, You find me tucked away wanting only You. I beg for Your mercy, Your forgiveness, Your understanding. I beg also that You enlighten my mind with the Light You shine, my mind drifts too much Lord. You know me better than I will ever know myself. My greatest Joy Lord is only found when I am completely utter consumed by You. Please continue to help me understand and know truth.
Thank You Jesus…
Praise You Jesus, Glory and Honor to You Always.. I LOVE YOU JESUS!!!

Jimmy (The Rosary Man)

Each of us has a song in our heart and each of us has a sincere deep love for God within. What the Rosary does; is it allows our hearts, to awaken our souls to song, and the song is Jesus. Let us allow our hearts to sing with such a love, a love that we won’t ever be able to fully explain, a love that is between God and His children, a love they could only know and feel.

Spend time praying these most spectacular, exciting mysteries, emerge yourself into God’s Word, into God’s Love, surround your life with Him. As I do this every day I hold our Blessed Mother’s hand, she guides me in only one direction… to her Son. Always!!!

Journal Entry 7.1.12 - The Cross

BEADS OF JOY 7-01-12 “Journal Entry - The Cross”
©2012 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

Dear Lord,

This journey is unlike any other I have ever ventured upon; all of my other journeys didn’t have me under the weight of so many crosses, doing all I can to stay alive while moving forward in my life. This journey also represents a turning point in my life. I ask You Lord to please continue to guide and direct me as I move forward, closer and closer to You. You know me better than I know myself and you know where my heart is. Yes I selfishly desire to serve you constantly, and yes there really isn’t anything or anyone in this world or in this life that can capture my heart like you do. But with that all said Lord I openly admit the challenges I face. I have no fear of them, nor will I back down or redirect my intentions or direction. I shall remain loyal to you and consistent in my commitment to you. People in general can disappoint and hurt each other as I know well; You alone Lord loves me, You alone Lord satisfy every possible need and desire I have, I only need You. As this journey home to You begins, I ask that You continue to show me the way, like You always do; I also ask that during this journey, if it be Your will for me, please open many new doors of opportunity to only further serve You in any possible capacity You so see fit for me. I also need more help to stay further away from intentional sin; yes I am weak, but in You Lord, I sustain my purity and You know I only desire You above all things. This world is very deceitful and very misleading, and the evil one has many soldiers to advance on those of us who are weak or worn down. I thank You Lord for always helping me find the strength I need to remain strong and loyal to You.
My Lady it is only Your Divine Son whom I fully trust in; it is only Him whom I rest all my hope in. As you know, your Son alone strengthens me, and He alone is the only one who sustains me through some of the most difficult phases in my life. I know you understand me Mother; as you have watched your Son little by little be beaten and destroyed by those who hated Him; I watch my wife the woman whom I feel God has given me, be beaten and destroyed by the horrible destruction of cancer. Mother like you, my heart burns inside wishing it were me instead taking the blows to the head, me instead taking that poison of chemo to the heart. My insides are so ripped apart seeing her suffer so much, and there is not a thing I can do about it; except lean more and more on your precious Son, and I do.
I willingly take up my cross, for my family, for my friends, for whom ever You Lord so desires me to. My life isn’t simple, my life has many trials and many burdens; none come before You my Lord, not one. But in that, I openly know the ministry of family that You have set before me; and I openly accept that responsibility and I lovingly, gratefully, thankfully embrace it. You Lord will give me the strength I need to move forward, You Lord will give me the love I will most certainly need to move forward in it. I give my every breathe, my every heartbeat to those You have entrusted to me Lord; as You have said to me, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” I to embrace that sentiment to all those around me.
As I joyfully carry my cross, denying myself for the sake of others; know Lord that I will never renege on this promise of commitment, I die to my own desires and wants and needs first, so that everyone else comes before me. For it is in our suffering and the suffering of those I love, that I find you Lord. When I suffer, I seek help and when I seek help I seek ONLY You Lord. That path to You is the path I have to stay on, knowing well that it leads to You. In the end my life don’t need a fancy title, a corner office, all my wildest desires fulfilled. NO, all I need Lord is You. YOU alone fill my heart with so much love, that a mere smile from You to me, fills my heart eternally with such an abundance of love that no lifetime could ever express it, no words can ever explain it, no worldly pleasure can ever match it.
This Journey with You Lord is truly one of the Greatest Journey’s I will embark upon. I pray that it last till the day You call me home. I pray that this focus upon You only intensifies. I pray that You alone continue to capture my thoughts, my attention, and all that I am. My life is a living sacrifice, I Joyfully surrender completely, openly and willingly to You.  I desire NO ONE Lord, Only YOU. I desire to be fully ‘on the ready’ when You call me. I desire to be of service to You 24/7/365. My own health and my own desires mean nothing, whatever You so desire for me, is exactly what I desire Lord.
Your son,
Jimmy (The Rosary Man)

Pre-Prayer/Reflection To My Retreat

BEADS OF JOY 6-30-12 “Pre-Prayer/Reflection”
©2012 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

Dear Lord,

Reflection and Prayer as I begin this journey: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, please refill my heart with my love for You; rejuvenate the excitement and Joy that fills my Spirit every day. Send forth Your Spirit and I shall embrace it, everything has become so overwhelming in my life; I know with your love and your understanding I will be stronger upon my return to serve you with even more love. It is You Lord, who shall renew the face of the earth. O, God who by the light of the Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit that I may be truly wise and ever enjoy Your consolations. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
As I begin this journey I think of the many things I wish and pray for as this journey begins. Teach me Lord, more humility, more patience, more charity, to be more active in serving you, more gentle and more humble of heart, more thoughtful, more cheerful, and more pleasing to You my Lord. I especially ask our Lady to obtain for me the Grace I need to be even more pleasing to You, her Divine Son. And please Lord; please keep my pre-occupation with You, the Holy Spirit and our Lady alive and vibrant and even more than it already is. That part of my faith I really enjoy; being all about you. I live by what I say, "YOU CAN HAVE ALL THIS WORLD HAS TO OFFER, ITS WEALTH, ITS LUSTS, ITS THINGS; ALL I WANT AND DESIRE IS JESUS."
I also pray Lord that the Rosary, Your Rosary be my guide, may those wonderful blessed Mysteries bring my Spirit ever so much closer to You through Our Lady, Your Mother. I admire many aspects of Mary, especially:

•Mary's clear and understanding faith,
•Mary's union in prayer with the Heart of You her Son ,
•Mary's plain and courageous living out of the will of God in her life.
Thank you Lord and know that I am giving all I got to give to make the best of this most magnificent journey with You. In Your Name Lord, Amen !!!

Your son,
Jimmy (The Rosary Man)

Maybe a Test, Indeed

I Shall Always Remain At My Post

Reflection: My Friends,

Thank you so much for so many of you who are standing strong by me and my families side as we endure more challenge’s than we usually do. I especially love the private messages of encouragement, keep them coming, Thank You. This may or may not be a test; this may or may not be the evil at work trying to shut our ministry down. No matter what this ministry, our MINISTRY will continue to grow; and it will only be growing stronger from all this. I took a break from working in my basement to write this note of encouragement to all of you. Our “Beads of Joy Rosary Ministry” knows well that the evil one despises our prayer ministry. Honestly I don’t care, there is nothing that can be done to me, that will completely shut us down. We will be stronger. Think of the song, “Stronger” by Mandisa, “…and go on and fall into the arms of Jesus.” The one song I am greatly encouraged by in difficult times…

Our family has been put to the test these past two years. There is no doubt in my mind that satan does not want our ministry of prayer and worship to our Lord in our lives. He most certainly does not want us to love our dear, precious, most Blessed Mother as much as we do. Well I say TOO BAD, we will and we shall continue to grow and love our Lord and His Mother even more. This speed bump is only strengthening our prayer community. I can handle whatever is given to me, I don’t care how full my plate already is, I don’t get distracted or derailed because of chaos. This little hiccup is mostly because of the water issues I am personally faced with, on top of all Chrissy’s health issues, I am the only one here dealing with all these issues. I unfortunately don’t have a team at home to help me handle these things, but that’s ok, I am blessed, I know it and all this is OK. I will be fine.

God has blessed me with a JOY; y’all know the one I always speak of. That JOY is the foundation that gets me through all things, everything, all the time. My life isn’t my own; my life is for my Lord’s use and discretion. I am here to serve Him, and to draw others to Him. That will always continue till I am no longer here. I won’t ever retire and disappear into the Caribbean’s somewhere, that’s so not me.  I will be working for my Lord till the day I die. This ministry is my true labor of Love for my Lord. I never want anything in return from anyone, I only desire to share, and to encourage and pray with and for others. We are sisters and brothers in fellowship loving and adoring a magnificent, mighty Lord. Praise Jesus that we all have the opportunity to pray together. We are blessed indeed.

MINISTRY NOTES
: As we evolve, and grow you will notice slight differences here and there. Overall, nothing is actually changing; in fact many more facets to our ministry will be added. We will continue to grow, and as we grow our relationships will deepen. God has allowed and planned for all of us to know one another, to pray for one another and to grow together in His love. His blessings are among us. The Spirit will lead and we shall follow. God Bless all of you and THANK YOU. Your kind words and thoughts through all this are a great encouragement.

Peace and Joy of Jesus

BEADS OF JOY 5-08-12 “Peace and Joy of Jesus”
©2012 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

Today’s Gospel is:  (John 14:27-31 ~ The Advocate)
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, `I go away, and I will come to you.' If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place, you may believe. I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me; but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go hence.”

1 – Our Father -10 Hail Mary’s –Glory be… - Oh My Jesus…

Reflection: My Friends;
Today’s gospel has me thinking of another scripture, Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds of Christ Jesus.” The peace of Jesus is beyond anything we could possibly even imagine. I would say that His peace was even beyond the knowledge or awareness of the challenges and stress we face each day. I would guess and many would agree; the true Peace and Joy of Jesus probably completely cancels out all of our troubles and stresses that surround our lives. We must remember that nothing in this world has any power to take our hearts and minds and soul away from His Peace and Joy. Jesus is complete in that He alone meets all of our needs.

Is your life full of Joy? A life that is full of Joy; can only be attained by loving Jesus Christ completely, with all our hearts. If Jesus is the absolutely center of your life, and He alone is your Lord and Savior, then the Joy you have in your heart is of Him. I completely understand that Joy and that Peace. This is not happiness, and it is not desire fulfilled. Joy and Peace go way beyond that; Jesus puts in our hearts, the Joy and the Peace that we won’t understand, but that we will know; or should I say the Holy Spirit within us will know immediately. This Joy has me all wound up, no joke here. I feel like I am going a hundred miles an hour all the time, thinking of and loving my Lord, and His Mom. Just thinking of them, as much as I do, makes me so excited and so filled with Joy, I can’t explain it.

Today’s Challenge:
Surrender your life completely over to Jesus; make Him your number one focus. The Peace and Joy of Jesus is all about having Jesus ever present in your life. Invite Him into your life and think about Him every day, pray to Him every day, love Him every day.

“Jesus, I Trust in You.”

Who Is Our Advocate?

BEADS OF JOY 5-07-12 “Who Is Our Advocate?”
©2012 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

Today’s Gospel is:  (John 14:21-26 ~ The Advocate)
He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him." Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, "Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?" Jesus answered him, "If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me does not keep my words; and the word which you hear is not mine but the Fathers who sent me. "These things I have spoken to you, while I am still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you...”
1 – Our Father -10 Hail Mary’s –Glory be… - Oh My Jesus…

Reflection: My Friends,
Do you sometimes wonder who it is, that is our Advocate? Who is it that speaks on our behalf, in our defense, and is also a counselor to us and a true intercessor? Yes, many who like me who love Our Blessed Mother, say she is our Advocate. I would say yes, a thousand percent and then some, but in today’s gospel, someone else is being referred to as our Advocate. It was in Jesus’ name that the Holy Spirit was sent down to us, to teach us, to guide us, and to lead us to Him. How many times do we hear, and do we say, “Let us let the Spirit lead our hearts, or the topic, or the direction of this ministry.” It’s the Holy Spirit that we are talking about.
Advocate as a verb (advocated, advocating) the meaning is as follows: to speak or write in favor of; or urge by argument recommend publicly.
Advocate as a noun (used as an object) has three definitions of explanation: 1. A person who speaks or writes in support or defense of a person, cause, etc. (usually followed by of): An Advocate of Peace. 2. A person who pleads for or in behalf of another; intercessor. (much like our Blessed Mother does). 3. A person who pleads the cause of another in a court of law.
To me it’s always important that the definitions of some words be very clear in their meaning. It helps for a more pure and direct way to understand scripture and what we are reflecting upon. It is the Spirit of God that truly helps us understand the love of God; it is the Holy Spirit that also draws us closer to Jesus; and by the Holy Spirit our Spirit knows when another also loves God the way we do. How true is that? How is it that we just know people, even people we don’t know? Simply the Spirit within us recognized the same Spirit, the Holy Spirit within another, sometimes almost immediately. By allowing God’s Will to reign supreme in our lives, we are allowing the Holy Spirit within us; that is God’s Spirit to lead us in the direction His Will has for our lives. Does that make sense? It is the Spirit within us, every one of us; that we are able to experience God’s love and His presence in ways that probably the typical person not Spirit led would ever understand.
Today’s Challenge: Invite the Holy Spirit of God to inflame your heart; with God’s Love and God’s Word giving your life a whole new burst of excitement to live by. There won’t ever be enough time even in an eternity of eternities to fully love Him back, but you’ll spend eternity doing just as it says in Matthew 22:37 “ Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’”
“Jesus, I Trust in You.”
