Dear Lord,

With the sentiment of my last entry, I’d like to begin with that thought, “whatever You so desire for me, is exactly what I desire Lord.” My truest deepest love rests in trusting You my Lord. I often wonder what Your Mother may have been thinking while raising You, picking You up when you fell, taking care of Your cuts and Your colds when You needed her to nurture You. And then after all that, I think of what she may have been thinking while standing at the foot of Your Cross, knowing well that You were suffering horribly. Where is this all going Lord? Today my thoughts are that of “LOVE”, as our Lady’s love for You shines for all eternity, so too does the love God has for His Will to be lived out in my life, and the chance I will have to serve You exactly the way You so desire me to. I simply love that Lord. A rather obvious observation I have made; is that our Lady always remained silent and listened… listening for God, silent in the Father’s presence, open to His wishes. It was in a dream or through others that God’s message made it to Our Lady’s and Joseph’s ears. I pray that my life remains open to receive You in whatever way You so desire to communicate with me.

Our Blessed Mother I now turn to you, with a much clearer understanding of your obedience, it really is that simple. All we must do is LOVE Him, no matter what. And our love must continue to deepen, especially when times get difficult and we don’t understand the pain and the sorrow and the sword we feel ripping us apart, not with only our own suffering, but also while we watch someone we love suffer. Please continue to guide my heart in understanding how pain and suffering in and of itself is love; for by it we are drawn to love Jesus even more. Mama, I will look at your Sons suffering as one of the most blessed examples to refer to. Jesus had to die and suffer for me so that I didn’t have to. It is love that is the driving force behind that choice; it was the Father’s love for me, and in turn the entire Trinities (Father, Son and Holy Spirit’s) love for me that allowed Jesus to suffer and die, in the end it was all about uniting us with God, which is love.

As this journey with You and Your Mother continues Lord, I ask for Your hand to continue to guide me and lead me to You. My love for You Lord is beyond every breath I breathe; beyond the blood that flows, beyond anything this live could ever be. I surrender all my desires, all my wants, all my needs over to You. There is nothing on this planet that would or could ever receive the love I have for You. I would rather die physically than ever be separated from You.

Inside of my soul, my love desires to see only You Lord; that is why preparing for Heaven right now for is so important. Looking at what hell is in its simplest of explanations: It’s complete and eternal separation for You Lord, I can’t even think about that, utter eternal darkness, to never ever see You or be in Your presence.

Jesus always spoke of love to the disciples and to us, “Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'” Matthew 22:37-39

The 13^th Chapter of Corinthian’s says it all…

Love Is Indispensable

And yet I will show you the most excellent way.

13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. ² If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. ³ If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

⁴ Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. ⁵ It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. ⁶ Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. ⁷ It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

⁸ Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. ⁹ For we know in part and we prophesy in part, ¹⁰ but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. ¹¹ When I was a child, I talked like a child; I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. ¹² For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

¹³ And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

O Eternal Lord, I ask that You see me in Your heart, You find me tucked away wanting only You. I beg for Your mercy, Your forgiveness, Your understanding. I beg also that You enlighten my mind with the Light You shine, my mind drifts too much Lord. You know me better than I will ever know myself. My greatest Joy Lord is only found when I am completely utter consumed by You. Please continue to help me understand and know truth.

Dear Lord,

Now this is love, this is what excites my life, brings my heart to exploding levels of Joy. In the end all these things are All about You Jesus and that is why I am so excited about my love for You. Simplicity allows the heart to focus, and focusing on You Lord, is all I want to do. A simple chance each day to ponder and pray on these mysteries alone, sustain me with so much eternal love each and every day. I am so content in Your love Lord; that words aren’t enough of an expression of how much I love You in return…

The Rosary is truly as a whole, a most incredibly beautiful song, sung to Jesus with Mary guiding the melody and the direction of the song. Each of us has a song in our heart and each of us has a sincere deep love for God within. What the Rosary does; is it allows our hearts, to awaken our souls to song, and the song is Jesus. Let us allow our hearts to sing with such a love, a love that we won’t ever be able to fully explain, a love that is between God and His children, a love they could only know and feel.

Spend time praying these most spectacular, exciting mysteries, emerge yourself into God’s Word, into God’s Love, surround your life with Him. As I do this every day I hold our Blessed Mother’s hand, she guides me in only one direction… to her Son. Always!!!

Journal Entry 7.1.12 - The Cross

Dear Lord,

This journey is unlike any other I have ever ventured upon; all of my other journeys didn’t have me under the weight of so many crosses, doing all I can to stay alive while moving forward in my life. This journey also represents a turning point in my life. I ask You Lord to please continue to guide and direct me as I move forward, closer and closer to You. You know me better than I know myself and you know where my heart is. Yes I selfishly desire to serve you constantly, and yes there really isn’t anything or anyone in this world or in this life that can capture my heart like you do. But with that all said Lord I openly admit the challenges I face. I have no fear of them, nor will I back down or redirect my intentions or direction. I shall remain loyal to you and consistent in my commitment to you. People in general can disappoint and hurt each other as I know well; You alone Lord loves me, You alone Lord satisfy every possible need and desire I have, I only need You. As this journey home to You begins, I ask that You continue to show me the way, like You always do; I also ask that during this journey, if it be Your will for me, please open many new doors of opportunity to only further serve You in any possible capacity You so see fit for me. I also need more help to stay further away from intentional sin; yes I am weak, but in You Lord, I sustain my purity and You know I only desire You above all things. This world is very deceitful and very misleading, and the evil one has many soldiers to advance on those of us who are weak or worn down. I thank You Lord for always helping me find the strength I need to remain strong and loyal to You.

My Lady it is only Your Divine Son whom I fully trust in; it is only Him whom I rest all my hope in. As you know, your Son alone strengthens me, and He alone is the only one who sustains me through some of the most difficult phases in my life. I know you understand me Mother; as you have watched your Son little by little be beaten and destroyed by those who hated Him; I watch my wife the woman whom I feel God has given me, be beaten and destroyed by the horrible destruction of cancer. Mother like you, my heart burns inside wishing it were me instead taking the blows to the head, me instead taking that poison of chemo to the heart. My insides are so ripped apart seeing her suffer so much, and there is not a thing I can do about it; except lean more and more on your precious Son, and I do.

I willingly take up my cross, for my family, for my friends, for whom ever You Lord so desires me to. My life isn’t simple, my life has many trials and many burdens; none come before You my Lord, not one. But in that, I openly know the ministry of family that You have set before me; and I openly accept that responsibility and I lovingly, gratefully, thankfully embrace it. You Lord will give me the strength I need to move forward, You Lord will give me the love I will most certainly need to move forward in it. I give my every breathe, my every heartbeat to those You have entrusted to me Lord; as You have said to me, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” I to embrace that sentiment to all those around me.

As I joyfully carry my cross, denying myself for the sake of others; know Lord that I will never renege on this promise of commitment, I die to my own desires and wants and needs first, so that everyone else comes before me. For it is in our suffering and the suffering of those I love, that I find you Lord. When I suffer, I seek help and when I seek help I seek ONLY You Lord. That path to You is the path I have to stay on, knowing well that it leads to You. In the end my life don’t need a fancy title, a corner office, all my wildest desires fulfilled. NO, all I need Lord is You. YOU alone fill my heart with so much love, that a mere smile from You to me, fills my heart eternally with such an abundance of love that no lifetime could ever express it, no words can ever explain it, no worldly pleasure can ever match it.

This Journey with You Lord is truly one of the Greatest Journey’s I will embark upon. I pray that it last till the day You call me home. I pray that this focus upon You only intensifies. I pray that You alone continue to capture my thoughts, my attention, and all that I am. My life is a living sacrifice, I Joyfully surrender completely, openly and willingly to You.  I desire NO ONE Lord, Only YOU. I desire to be fully ‘on the ready’ when You call me. I desire to be of service to You 24/7/365. My own health and my own desires mean nothing, whatever You so desire for me, is exactly what I desire Lord.

Pre-Prayer/Reflection To My Retreat

Dear Lord,

Reflection and Prayer as I begin this journey: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, please refill my heart with my love for You; rejuvenate the excitement and Joy that fills my Spirit every day. Send forth Your Spirit and I shall embrace it, everything has become so overwhelming in my life; I know with your love and your understanding I will be stronger upon my return to serve you with even more love. It is You Lord, who shall renew the face of the earth. O, God who by the light of the Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit that I may be truly wise and ever enjoy Your consolations. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

As I begin this journey I think of the many things I wish and pray for as this journey begins. Teach me Lord, more humility, more patience, more charity, to be more active in serving you, more gentle and more humble of heart, more thoughtful, more cheerful, and more pleasing to You my Lord. I especially ask our Lady to obtain for me the Grace I need to be even more pleasing to You, her Divine Son. And please Lord; please keep my pre-occupation with You, the Holy Spirit and our Lady alive and vibrant and even more than it already is. That part of my faith I really enjoy; being all about you. I live by what I say, "YOU CAN HAVE ALL THIS WORLD HAS TO OFFER, ITS WEALTH, ITS LUSTS, ITS THINGS; ALL I WANT AND DESIRE IS JESUS."

I also pray Lord that the Rosary, Your Rosary be my guide, may those wonderful blessed Mysteries bring my Spirit ever so much closer to You through Our Lady, Your Mother. I admire many aspects of Mary, especially:

•Mary's clear and understanding faith,
•Mary's union in prayer with the Heart of You her Son ,
•Mary's plain and courageous living out of the will of God in her life.

Thank you Lord and know that I am giving all I got to give to make the best of this most magnificent journey with You. In Your Name Lord, Amen !!!

I Shall Always Remain At My Post

Reflection: My Friends,

Thank you so much for so many of you who are standing strong by me and my families side as we endure more challenge’s than we usually do. I especially love the private messages of encouragement, keep them coming, Thank You. This may or may not be a test; this may or may not be the evil at work trying to shut our ministry down. No matter what this ministry, our MINISTRY will continue to grow; and it will only be growing stronger from all this. I took a break from working in my basement to write this note of encouragement to all of you. Our “Beads of Joy Rosary Ministry” knows well that the evil one despises our prayer ministry. Honestly I don’t care, there is nothing that can be done to me, that will completely shut us down. We will be stronger. Think of the song, “Stronger” by Mandisa, “…and go on and fall into the arms of Jesus.” The one song I am greatly encouraged by in difficult times…

Our family has been put to the test these past two years. There is no doubt in my mind that satan does not want our ministry of prayer and worship to our Lord in our lives. He most certainly does not want us to love our dear, precious, most Blessed Mother as much as we do. Well I say TOO BAD, we will and we shall continue to grow and love our Lord and His Mother even more. This speed bump is only strengthening our prayer community. I can handle whatever is given to me, I don’t care how full my plate already is, I don’t get distracted or derailed because of chaos. This little hiccup is mostly because of the water issues I am personally faced with, on top of all Chrissy’s health issues, I am the only one here dealing with all these issues. I unfortunately don’t have a team at home to help me handle these things, but that’s ok, I am blessed, I know it and all this is OK. I will be fine.
God has blessed me with a JOY; y’all know the one I always speak of. That JOY is the foundation that gets me through all things, everything, all the time. My life isn’t my own; my life is for my Lord’s use and discretion. I am here to serve Him, and to draw others to Him. That will always continue till I am no longer here. I won’t ever retire and disappear into the Caribbean’s somewhere, that’s so not me.  I will be working for my Lord till the day I die. This ministry is my true labor of Love for my Lord. I never want anything in return from anyone, I only desire to share, and to encourage and pray with and for others. We are sisters and brothers in fellowship loving and adoring a magnificent, mighty Lord. Praise Jesus that we all have the opportunity to pray together. We are blessed indeed.
MINISTRY NOTES: As we evolve, and grow you will notice slight differences here and there. Overall, nothing is actually changing; in fact many more facets to our ministry will be added. We will continue to grow, and as we grow our relationships will deepen. God has allowed and planned for all of us to know one another, to pray for one another and to grow together in His love. His blessings are among us. The Spirit will lead and we shall follow. God Bless all of you and THANK YOU. Your kind words and thoughts through all this are a great encouragement.

Peace and Joy of Jesus

Today’s Gospel is:  (John 14:27-31 ~ The Advocate)
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, `I go away, and I will come to you.' If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place, you may believe. I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no power over me; but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go hence.”

Reflection: My Friends;
Today’s gospel has me thinking of another scripture, Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds of Christ Jesus.” The peace of Jesus is beyond anything we could possibly even imagine. I would say that His peace was even beyond the knowledge or awareness of the challenges and stress we face each day. I would guess and many would agree; the true Peace and Joy of Jesus probably completely cancels out all of our troubles and stresses that surround our lives. We must remember that nothing in this world has any power to take our hearts and minds and soul away from His Peace and Joy. Jesus is complete in that He alone meets all of our needs.

Is your life full of Joy? A life that is full of Joy; can only be attained by loving Jesus Christ completely, with all our hearts. If Jesus is the absolutely center of your life, and He alone is your Lord and Savior, then the Joy you have in your heart is of Him. I completely understand that Joy and that Peace. This is not happiness, and it is not desire fulfilled. Joy and Peace go way beyond that; Jesus puts in our hearts, the Joy and the Peace that we won’t understand, but that we will know; or should I say the Holy Spirit within us will know immediately. This Joy has me all wound up, no joke here. I feel like I am going a hundred miles an hour all the time, thinking of and loving my Lord, and His Mom. Just thinking of them, as much as I do, makes me so excited and so filled with Joy, I can’t explain it.

Today’s Challenge: Surrender your life completely over to Jesus; make Him your number one focus. The Peace and Joy of Jesus is all about having Jesus ever present in your life. Invite Him into your life and think about Him every day, pray to Him every day, love Him every day.

Who Is Our Advocate?

Today’s Gospel is:  (John 14:21-26 ~ The Advocate)
“He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him." Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, "Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?" Jesus answered him, "If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me does not keep my words; and the word which you hear is not mine but the Fathers who sent me. "These things I have spoken to you, while I am still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you...”

Reflection: My Friends,
Do you sometimes wonder who it is, that is our Advocate? Who is it that speaks on our behalf, in our defense, and is also a counselor to us and a true intercessor? Yes, many who like me who love Our Blessed Mother, say she is our Advocate. I would say yes, a thousand percent and then some, but in today’s gospel, someone else is being referred to as our Advocate. It was in Jesus’ name that the Holy Spirit was sent down to us, to teach us, to guide us, and to lead us to Him. How many times do we hear, and do we say, “Let us let the Spirit lead our hearts, or the topic, or the direction of this ministry.” It’s the Holy Spirit that we are talking about.

Advocate as a verb (advocated, advocating) the meaning is as follows: to speak or write in favor of; or urge by argument recommend publicly.

Advocate as a noun (used as an object) has three definitions of explanation: 1. A person who speaks or writes in support or defense of a person, cause, etc. (usually followed by of): An Advocate of Peace. 2. A person who pleads for or in behalf of another; intercessor. (much like our Blessed Mother does). 3. A person who pleads the cause of another in a court of law.

To me it’s always important that the definitions of some words be very clear in their meaning. It helps for a more pure and direct way to understand scripture and what we are reflecting upon. It is the Spirit of God that truly helps us understand the love of God; it is the Holy Spirit that also draws us closer to Jesus; and by the Holy Spirit our Spirit knows when another also loves God the way we do. How true is that? How is it that we just know people, even people we don’t know? Simply the Spirit within us recognized the same Spirit, the Holy Spirit within another, sometimes almost immediately. By allowing God’s Will to reign supreme in our lives, we are allowing the Holy Spirit within us; that is God’s Spirit to lead us in the direction His Will has for our lives. Does that make sense? It is the Spirit within us, every one of us; that we are able to experience God’s love and His presence in ways that probably the typical person not Spirit led would ever understand.  

Today’s Challenge: Invite the Holy Spirit of God to inflame your heart; with God’s Love and God’s Word giving your life a whole new burst of excitement to live by. There won’t ever be enough time even in an eternity of eternities to fully love Him back, but you’ll spend eternity doing just as it says in Matthew 22:37 “ Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’”

Remembering Father

"Remembering Father Mullally"

My friends…
This morning blog is all about me missing Fr Mullally. I am so sorry, but I really miss him. I understand our faith very clearly, I understand where he is, and I understand that one day I will see him again. I honestly understand all that; I just really miss him. To me it's like losing a parent, or a sibling, or thee absolute best friend you have ever had in the entire whole world, in your entire life... He was actually that best friend and that brother (a brother I never had) and that loving guiding parent in my life. My parents are wonderful and I love them, but they just didn’t fulfill the spiritual heart inside me, with the kind of guiding, loving parental leadership that Father had.

I realize I do reflect back a lot, I go through these patches of really missing Father and I don’t know what to do except express them. I’d like to start by saying that I have 5 (Spiritual Super Hero’s) in my life. And I realize that might sound corny, but it’s true. I did an audio reflection all about it, I need post that. Anyhow, these men of God have been mentors like no others in my life. I turn to them for direction, leadership, guidance, and so much more. In turn they have told me that they to gain from my input, so that we both were able to move forward in our spiritual life by our friendships. These men are as follows and in this particular order on purpose…

MY 5 SPIRITUAL SUPER HERO’S

#1. Fr Gerald Mullally (20+ years) what can I say that I haven’t already; and that I will continue to say…

#2. Jack McElligott (18-20 years) a very dear friend, he to, has gone to be with the Lord. I miss you Jack. Jack was a man who I spoke to, online, on the phone, and in person. One day, a few months before he passed away two years ago, (when Chrissy first got diagnosed with cancer) he said to me while hanging out in my yard, “You know Jim, I get it, and I think I really understand you now. No matter how much stress you are under, no matter how many horrible things get thrown at you, you stay upbeat and happy and joyful all the time… It’s the depths of your faith, isn’t it?” I said, “Of cause it is, it always has been.” He just smiled at me and said, “You have a wonderful gift, the gift of Joy in your heart, I am so happy for you Jim.” That was one of our last few conversations we had.

#3. Jerry Kelly (29 years) The Leader of Our Lady’s Pathways prayer group. A dear close friend, he was there from the beginning, when I first gave my life to Jesus. #4. Fr Peter Calabrese (10 years) He is the Associate Director of Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Lewiston, NY. He is busier these days, compared to the days when I use to hang out with him. He is living the life I would have loved to live if I were to be a priest (which I did at one point). Fr Peter was also my Spiritual Director for a little while, when we lived up in Niagara Falls. He is a man of some incredible insightful wisdom. His bible studies where out of this world.

#5 Al Picogna OFS (8+ years) He is my Franciscan brother / father / dear friend. He and I talk most days. He pointed out after Fr Mullally’s passing that he understands the depths of my sorrow. He said to me, “Jim, you talked about whatever was going on with you and Father, every single day we ever talked.” I was like, “I did??” Al’s insights and deeply rooted faith based life are a true inspiration. He is a remarkable friend, a true man of honor and dad to his daughters and their families and wonderful attentive grandfather.

I never realized how much I spoke about Father, till others have stepped forward and told me. He and I use to talk through many many nights, even directly before Mass. I can’t tell you how many times Chrissy would roll over to me; because I was at my desk in our bedroom, and she’d say, “Who have you been talking to all this time?” or “…all through the night?” I’d be like, “Father of cause...” She knew who I was talking about, nothing else needed to be said. It was just a regular event between Father and me.

Some Other Pondering Thought: When someone we love passes away, are they able to hear us; when we believe we are speaking to them alone? Our longing, our sadness, and our ongoing desire for connection with that person, pour through your words, and our thoughts of that them. How are you handling Fr. Mullally’s passing? Some of you might think, hey its 4 months ago, are you ok? I say, yes I am. I guess my love for him and my dependence upon his absolute loyal, loving friendship… miss him the most. He honestly has been the closest person to me in my life, aside from Chrissy. He and I have had some really wonderful, in-depth conversations over these past two decades. I’m talking beyond confession; our lives were an open book to one another. He made me always feel like it was important to him that I knew the real man behind the altar. I feel very blessed to have known him so well; and of cause no one knew me like he did. No stone was ever missed; no stone was ever left unturned. I trusted my life with him.

Today is Divine Mercy Sunday Time B
My Friends,

Today is a most JOYOUS day for us to celebrate. I love Sister Faustina; her diary is such a blessing. Please if you haven't taken the time yet, I highly recommend you read through it, you will be inspired but such a Godly woman. If today's message were to be put in a capsule I'd say, "Be merciful and loving to everyone, especially those in our lives who we know don't deserve it." Today we need to be like Jesus even more then we try to be on other days. Heaven is real, as is Hell is real. We are all given this tiny piece in time to make things right with Almighty God. We have more than adequate time to do so; so we can't waste it on things that in the end bare no meaning to the final judgment of our soul. In the end, all that will matter is that you made your life right with God. We must surrender fully to Him. I know many will resist and believe their own choices and priorities matter first. Sorry, no one, and nothing comes before God. His mercy and compassion and love for us; got himself nailed to a tree so that you and me can spend eternity with Him.

Today we celebrate "Divine Mercy". Let me share some excerpts from Sister Faustina's Diary. She has so much love from God to share with us. Please take the time to learn about her, her message and what she has written. My dear friend Fr Joe Roesch, MIC is the Divine Mercy Priest, you see him leading us on the video I always post, when I invite you to join us in praying, The Divine Mercy Chaplet. “I have discovered that everything is possible for God if we will only say yes to His call.” ~Fr. Joe Roesch, MIC. Today is a day of sharing as much as we can about Mercy, and how Sister Faustina has opened a blessed door of some wonderful wisdom for all of us to prosper from. There are far too many to share them all. But I'd like to share some of the ones that pop out.

"When I met the Lord I humbled myself and said, "Jesus, it seems that You do not associate intimately with such wretched people as I." Be at peace, My daughter, it is precisely through such misery that I want to show the power of My mercy." (133)

Today’s Gospel is: Mark 2:1-12 (The Healing of a Paralytic)

“And when he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home. And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room for them, not even about the door; and he was preaching the word to them. And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him; and when they had made an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic lay. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "My son, your sins are forgiven." Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, "Why does this man speak thus? It is blasphemy! Who can forgive sins but God alone?" And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, "Why do you question thus in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, `Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, `Rise, take up your pallet and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins" -- he said to the paralytic -- "I say to you, rise, take up your pallet and go home." And he rose, and immediately took up the pallet and went out before them all; so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, "We never saw anything like this!.”

Reflection: My Friends; A most fantastic exciting miracle has taken place in Capernaum. Four very faithful friends were determined to get their other friend who was a paralytic before Jesus so he can be healed. Today we are reading and studying Mark 2:1-12 (The Healing of a Paralytic). I can only imagine the look on the face of those in the house, when they saw the roof section broken through as these four were lowering down their friend. The faith and determination of these four friends must have been breath taking.

Jesus was without a doubt happy with all their efforts. In verse 2:5, "When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven." This mans healing was instantaneous. Do you realize how exciting it must have been for him? Now let's take this even further outside the box, how ever did those present in the house respond? I'm sure their are those who sincerely believed in Jesus; but consider this, what about those on the fence, or those who wanted to believe and those who were curious and didn't believe. That was all a bit long winded I agree, but you see how that was indeed an exciting moment for everyone no doubt. Would we believe even stronger if we seen it happen before our eyes? Or would we still doubt our own sight?

There are a few things we can understand in this miracle. For starters the forgiveness of sins healed the paralytic. Another incredible part of this miracle was that the bondage of the pain (the sin) was healed immediately. Jesus simply heals with the slightest utter of His will for us. And I noticed that in verse 10 leading into verse 11, Jesus was possibly speaking directly to the scribes who didn't believe in Him. His tone, I realize there is no "tone" in the written word, but verse 10 just seemed a bit misplaced, like all of a sudden a point needed to be made. I hope you can all follow that.

The end of verse 12 was a spectacular way to end the gospel reading, "They were all astounded and glorified God, saying "We have never seen anything like this." So many must have believed; after seeing that miracle, happen right in front of them. Praise Jesus for loving us so much, not only to die for me and you so that we may live eternally with Him; but for loving us so much that while He was here He healed so many.

Today’s Gospel is: Mark 1:40-45 (The Cleansing of a Leper)

“And a leper came to him beseeching him, and kneeling said to him, "If you will, you can make me clean." Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand and touched him, and said to him, "I will; be clean." And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean. And he sternly charged him, and sent him away at once, and said to him, "See that you say nothing to any one; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, for a proof to the people." But he went out and began to talk freely about it, and to spread the news, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter a town, but was out in the country; and people came to him from every quarter.”

Reflection: So what is stopping us from approaching Jesus like the leper did in today’s gospel? Leprosy is a disease; a disease nothing short of being the living dead. Sadly that is true. It’s a poison far worse than even cancer; in that little by little it takes over your entire body, till it has killed it. For the most part leprosy is incurable and the person with it will inevitably die. Well knowing all this, this man still approached Jesus with a humble deep faith. That faith is beyond what many may think is common sense thinking. Why ask for something you probably know for the most part, you probably won’t get anyway. And it’s not because you can’t have it; it’s more like the reality of, in this case it’s not medically even possible. Yet this man still came forward asking for a healing.

The lepers confidence and trust in approaching Jesus in the end, gave him exactly what he not only wished for; but he also asked. How can today’s gospel be embraced into our own lives? In other words if we are to “Live the Gospel” How in the world do we do it, in reflection to today’s reading? Today’s gospel to me shows us that we can boldly, yet very humbly and confidently approaching Jesus with the impossible, in the end He makes all things possible. Pray this little pray every single day, keep it at the edge of your thoughts constantly, and you will see more and more how Jesus does answer our prayers. Simple pray, “Jesus, I trust in You.”

Today is the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time B
Today’s Gospel is: Mark 1:29-39 (Jesus Heals Many)

“And immediately he left the synagogue, and entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. Now Simon's mother-in-law lay sick with a fever, and immediately they told him of her. And he came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her; and she served them. That evening, at sundown, they brought to him all who were sick or possessed with demons. And the whole city was gathered together about the door. And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him. And in the morning, a great while before day, he rose and went out to a lonely place, and there he prayed. And Simon and those who were with him pursued him, and they found him and said to him, "Everyone is searching for you.” And he said to them, "Let us go on to the next towns that I may preach there also; for that is why I came out." And he went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons.”

Reflection: Sometimes sickness is permitted by God and many ask why. It is permitted for the sole purpose of us glorifying God. Jesus was beaten, whipped and killed upon the Cross alone; shows us how through suffering, Jesus was made perfect before God and through that suffering we are brought to Him. Suffering is so misunderstood by the world. In today’s gospel there is no doubt in observation of Peter’s character, that Peter is one of our Lords most devoted followers, and his love for his mother in law is sincere, and most precious. He was truly a most commendable son in law. Today let us look at this healing, this wonderful miracle; and let us think about how we handle and consider the trials, struggles and even illnesses in our own lives and families. Here’s a thought, “Do we really place all our trust in Jesus when we are suffering?” It is when we are brought to our knees that we finally look up to God and ask why? It is that final humble approach that brings us to where we most certainly need to be before God respectfully.

On a personal note, there was a time when we lived a sort of Soprano lifestyle. No not mafia, I am referring to spending without concern or worry ever about money, we knew more cash would be in our hands tomorrow. A lifestyle, I can’t even begin explain properly. Think of this: Have you ever went shopping and just left and paid and swiped your debit/credit card and never knew or cared what you spent? Well we lived like that for more than two decades. It’s all different now, and with Chrissy’s life threatening illness we are also brought to our knees. When God wants our hearts fully, “His will” will take us directly to Himself. Suffering is indeed a blessing, an unexplainable blessing we must learn to embrace. Remember this, all suffering is followed by thanksgiving and blessings and praise to Almighty God for His love and mercy.

Hello Everybody,

There is no doubt in my mind that everyone who knew Father would say, “He was unlike anyone I had ever known.” A very true statement, actually I’d be bold enough to say he was even more. Do you ever notice the way he is, his kindness, his ability to be friends with countless people? Yet in all those multiples of people, every one of us felt like he was fully invested only in our affairs and our family. Didn’t it feel that way? And at the same time he had the ability to unite us all as one, as only a good shepherd could. And only simple observation for me was that Father was very sparing on giving out compliments, oh yes when they stand alone accomplishments or something extraordinary, he was the first to celebrate for us. But if we were doing a continuous activity and we had to constantly return it, he was a man a little words.

I have had the Rosary Ministry for about 28 years now, of cause everything I did, I always asked for Fathers direction, opinion and correction if need be. Father Mullally was and in some ways still is my rudder, guiding me on the path that leads straight to Jesus. Well every now and then I would ask Father, “How am I doing? Am I on target? And am I staying on focus?” His comment only every one to two months was, "Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re doing a good thing." This comment echoes in my head as I forge forward with our Rosary Prayer Ministry. He has always been the driving force behind it.

Back then I asked him, “Why do you so sparely give compliments?” He is one funny, unique, incredible man. He said, “It’s like this, if anyone does something daily, lots of times too many compliments make them cocky and prideful, and in the long run they screw it up and stop, I compliment you, just to help push you along.” Insightful indeed. Well needless to say I learned from him. I love every single one of his homilies. But only once about every 5-6 weeks after Mass I shake his hand like I always do, but those times I use my other hand to hold that hand and I say, “That was an incredible homily, it really hit home, AWEOSME Father.” Later in the day once in a while he’d say, “What was that all about after Mass?” I say, “O you mean the compliment?”, he’d say, “Yes, what’s with the way you did that?” I got to laugh, I’d say, “Well Father, I sparingly give out compliments, I don’t want anyone getting cocky when they do a good thing so often.” And he’d laugh. We had a very close understanding… Back then we had internet, but we use to spend MANY MANY nights, all night talking on the phone. We’d pray, we share each other’s life, no stone was left un-turned.. He was one of my closest friends, brother.. I was incredibly blessed with him in my life...

What is the summary here… We are like FATHER, in his loving us, he was teaching us to be like him. He knew countless people, very personally. Many of us are the same way in our community, amongst our community. He had this personal ability to have people feel special, like they were the only ones he had a direct interest in. Many of us in our community do that for one another in our relationships. He always looked out for us, remembering all our prayer needs and always going the extra mile. How many of us already do that for one another. We have Father Mullally to thank for being not only an incredible Shepherd, but an outstanding teacher.

1st Sunday in Advent – Be Watchful!!

Hello Everybody,

In today’s world many of us really anticipate the Lord’s return. But no matter, we must still remain on watch and be prepared at all times. Regardless of what people claim publicly or say about some calendar of ancient times says; no one knows the hour, or the day when the world shall end, or our Lord shall return. All we should do is earnestly pray for His return, and by all means be prepared at all times. If there is sin in our life, which by the way, we all have sin in our lives; but if there are sins we have challenges with, we really need to pray for the strength, to seriously keep them in check. Constantly whenever possibly, we should go to confess and cleanse our Spirit before God, keeping ourselves as clean as we can, always being ready. Today’s gospel is Mark 31:33-37 (Need For Watchfulness). We must be ready for Jesus’ return at all times. For if in this life, we miss out on the chance to be with Jesus in eternity; then we certainly have missed out horribly.

Seeking our Jesus every day is exciting. I truly find no greater Joy than to spend every day praying, reading and learning all I can about our Lord. I am certainly no angel or saint; I am a sinner unworthy of even His glance. But through His love for us, we have all been made worthy before Him. If there’s one thing I have learned these past 28 years of my faith is this; that our dependency on God must be an everyday thought. For it is when we become so independent, so self-serving that we feel we don’t even need anyone, including God, that we jeopardize our eternity with Him. The world we live in can and will deceive you about that. Just because you have become successful in business or in business deals, or even in something that just uplifts your lifestyle; don’t lose sight of how you got there, and who it is that must be continually praised and thanked for it. God of cause silly, let us not be like many in this world who don’t even believe God exists and they pay no mind to all to the things He has done. One day we will all have to stand before God in judgment of all the things we have said and done; how said for the child of God who stands before Him living a life saying God don’t exist, only to find out He absolutely exists. It is always better to be prepared for something that doesn’t happen; rather than be unprepared for something that does. I always say, and I have been saying this for many years, and many will attest to these words I say, “Plan for the worst, pray for the best.” What that means is, always be on the ready for any and all outcomes.

Our society is very misleading, and I don’t think that it’s actually purposely designed that way; but in its own lack of wisdom, it misleads many into teaching us to look inward rather than to look outward towards God. We must live a life fully depend upon God. We must recognize His presence in all things and we must love Him and be thankful to Him in all that we do. Advent is a season of discernment, and to be fair it isn’t actually a pre-Christmas season, rather it is its own very special liturgical season. Yes we are awaiting the arrival of the Birth of Jesus, but not in the same content. We also have a chance to reflect on the depths of the “Yes” Mary said in response to God’s request. Let us do all we can to make sure we do understand the spiritual nature of this season; and let us try to help guide our children into understanding what this season means, and how the changes they see are a direct part of all that. Enjoy your first Sunday of Advent. May God richly bless you and your always.

Hello Everybody,

In general the world we live in today for some reason, has no sense in preparing for the Heaven, no thought of one day having to answer to God for all our actions. Today we read about an extraordinary parable about a very wealthy Master (God) who entrusts His servants (all of us) with His gifts of talents. In this parable the Master expects the servants to do their best, with what abilities they have to multiply with that which they have been given. In our Lord’s time 1 Talent was equivalent to about 10 years wages; so with that being said, you can see how God has much trust in us to do the right thing with something worth so much. And no this is not about the money, rather it is about our Lord entrusting us with what is His; and our ability to advance further in His service to Him. Every single thing we have, we own, we buy or we possess, is His; God gave us the ability to attain it so what we have is not our own, but rather all His to begin with. We really should be obeying Him, following Him and drawing ourselves closer to Him that should be our goal every single day; if we merely hold our position and never move forward with His gifts, our Christian life will grow stagnant and serve no purpose in God’s kingdom. Today we are reading Matthew 25:14-30 (The Parable of Talents).

In this parable God places much trust in us, with no strings attached. But He does tell us that He will return and He will want to see what we have done with what He has given us. We all have talents (gifts, abilities, treasure) that God has given us. Some may be able to teach and guide others, others may be able to cook and care for others, and then others are able to work very hard in different industries that participate in advancing society for all. No matter, we all have some sort of talent to share and grow. As we can see by this parable, in the end it was all about pleasing the Master with what we did for Him while He was gone; and His reward to all of us would be great. So when we are given talents, our goal isn’t to be selfish, digging a hole and burying what is yours to protect it from someone else; really isn’t what seems to be what God had in mind for us to do. Tragically so many in this life don’t see all that we have as God’s, instead they see it as theirs. Selfishness is the problem we must all overcome. It is the charity of heart and mind, knowing well that we don’t have all of what we have because we are so fabulous and wonderful; rather all that we have, we simply have because God has blessed us with it. Therefore it is actually all His first, before it was ever ours.

It is possible for us to do the right thing with the talents we have been blessed with. The bottom line to me is: What’s it going to be; me serving God with all my gifts and talents? Or rather am I going to serve myself with these gifts and talents? I pray that we are all bold in knowing without a doubt that we are to be serving and honoring God with all that He has blessed us with. Taking care of our families and others in need around us is really a very important part of who we are in Jesus. In scripture Jesus said this when asked, “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40. So let us do all we can by the example of our lives, to live a life that is truly pleasing to God. Whatever talent we have, whatever abilities we possess, whatever treasure we have; let us use them and share them for the further deepening of our faith. God knows our heart, its intentions and even its ulterior motives. Let us be the servant that multiples that which God has entrusted to us.

Always Be Prepared… Period !

Hello Everybody,

Being unprepared in never a good thing, in all things. I know that’s not even an official sentence, lol. At least the Word program here is fighting me, insisting that it isn’t. No matter, the statement is true, being unprepared isn’t a good thing in anything. Think of that statement in all aspects of our lives. Do we shop for food the minute we need it? Or rather do we prepare to have food already at home, so we can cook it when necessary and of cause God forbid we can’t get out, we at least have some food in the house. Many of you may have not even thought of it that way, but it’s true; it’s just another way to be prepared. Another reflection on that thought is when we are expecting a hurricane or a bad snow storm, what do so many people rush out and do? Shop like crazy filling the house with 5 gallons of milk, 4 loafs of bread; the stores are crazy the day before a storm. I think its ludacris, but hey they are getting prepared in case they can’t get out for weeks. LOL. Today’s gospel is found in Matthew 25:1-13 (The Parable of The Ten Virgins).

What is really the most important part of life? Many will have many different answers; today I will share with you my answer. To me, the most important part of this life is being prepared for the next one, and as long as I do all I can, I hope that it is with Jesus in Heaven. I know that’s where I am preparing to go, but I also know that it’s not my call, its God’s judgment on where my eternal destination will be. We do have a merciful, loving, forgiving God, but in the end, it’s His final word that will determine our destination. So without having arrogant presumption to the facts, God will determine where it is that I will spend eternity. Now with all that said wouldn’t be wise to live a life as close to God’s will as we possibly can. I know we can’t honestly say we know God’s will in our life; at least not in a definitive statement with written proof showing us in writing what we are expected to do. I understand all that. But… We do know what pleases God and we do know that He must always come first and that our actions and our words and our choices do reflect what matters to us; and God knows and sees all these things. So with that also said, why not live a life that praises and worships Him, while we do all we can to help direct others to Him. That also helps explain why I am, where I am, today in my life.

The question here is obvious: Are you ready to meet with God, face to face? All of what we say, write and do is known to God, we can delete them out of our lives and think God won't know about this or that. He forgives and He cleans our lives up all the time when we ask Him in confession; the more we love Him, honor Him and seek to tell the world about Him, the more likely He will invite us into eternity with Him. God knows our heart, our mind, our intentions, and our ulterior motives. He knows all things; there isn’t anything we do in secret that God can’t see or know about. Are we ready to be at that banquet? Are we prepared every day? If we all do our best do live in such a way that we are ready; what an absolutely beautiful world we would be living in. I will pray for all of us, we can do this, and we can be ready for Jesus when that day comes for us.

Unconditional Love, Seriously

Hello Everybody,

Just a thought spun off of this weeks “Married Couples Rosary”. The relationships we have are so vital, and the love we have for one another is even more important. Those closest to us need our unconditional love. Why? Some who ask do not fully understand the depths of what true unconditional love is. How would you define “unconditional love”?

Unconditional Love (definition): affection with no limits or conditions; complete love

With that said I better understand how God loves us, with no limits or conditions, truly endless and complete. I say: do it, say it, live it, be it!!! It’s simpler than one might think. Let us look at Jesus’ love for us and then simply imitate it. He loves us no matter what we say, no matter what we do; and even after we have beaten, whipped, stabbed and then nailed Him to the cross. It may be hard to grasp, I understand that, but I am able to grasp it because of how much I love Jesus. His example of loving me, when I know I do not deserve His love, His forgiveness, His mercy; that is enough for me to want to be like Him, to those I love around me. I hope everyone is following me..

I say DO IT: What I mean is love your family, your children, your spouse, your family, and your friend’s with unconditional love, with no limits and no conditions…

I say SAY IT: What I am saying here is just that, talk to those you love unconditionally and plainly tell them that your love is unconditional. You will bring such JOY to those you love, and your heart will be lite up with so much LOVE. Here’s what I have done. My “Pickles” my baby, daddies little girl, has had her share of challenges, and many know of them; at times she has hurt us. To reassure her and let her know that we (I) love her no matter what she says or does I told her this, not for any other reason except that I love and adore her with all my heart. I said, “Sarah, know that I love you, probably more then you will ever know, but maybe this explanation will help you even better understand. If you were to say, Daddy I want to kill you; and you put a gun to my head and you said, I am going to take your life dad; know this... I FORGIVE you and I Still will say to you that I LOVE YOU. No matter what you do, I will love you and I remain here for you, never “not loving you”. And know that this isn’t just chatter, its true pure unconditional love for you.” We must be like Jesus in all things, all the time, not just when we want to. There is another whole blog I can write about what I have said to Chrissy, especially through all her life threatening health issues.

I say LIVE IT: What am I saying? Don’t just say these words, live it and seriously mean it, with all your heart. Always love them in all things, no matter what. Never respond with a harsh word, never be judgmental towards them, and never ever be hurtful in your words or actions to them. Yes it isn’t always easy, at first; but we must trust in Jesus my friends, it will become an intricate part of who you are, once you live this way every day.

I say BE IT: In other words, be the unconditional love to those you unconditionally love, and especially those who don't. Stand behind your words and be that anchor, that solid point of reference of love, that those you do love, can rely upon. Does that make sense? I hope it does.

Be strong!!! And love unconditionally!!!

The Luminous Mysteries

Hello Everybody,

As we finish this collection of meditations, I pray that these prayers help you focus more on your own marriage. No marriage is perfect, yes there are spectacular ones and some really incredible ones; but after 25 years myself, taking an honest assessment, there is occasional challenges. The key is to have the right heart in all situations. A forgiving, unconditional loving heart is best. And if you do Pray The Rosary regularly it will help keep your heart focused even more.
The Luminous Mysteries

1. The Baptism of Jesus – OPEN TO GOD: It is only God who can give us true inner peace. In our relationship, our spouse can and does fulfill most of our needs; it is in God that we are fully satisfied. We must learn to depend on God in all things; He will be there for us. We must seek Him first, and in that prioritize our lives with Him first in our lives. Scriptures says it like this, “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” 1 John 4:9-11

2. Wedding at Cana – JESUS THROUGH MARY: Through the intercessory prayer of our Lady, many prayers are answered and led directly to our Lord. Through Mary is one of the best ways we can get to our Lord; her intercessory prayers are very powerful and always heard by our Lord. Dear Lord, you know our hearts, you know how much we love our spouse, in our prayers to your Mother, we will ask her to intercede for us. “When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” John 2:3-6

3. Proclaiming The Kingdom of God – REPENTANCE AND TRUSTING GOD: Just as Jesus calls us to conversion and forgives the sins, we must be forgiving to our spouse, in everything. We need to ask God to help guide us through this mystery. Dear Lord, I ask that you show me your love and your mercy in loving my spouse, the same way you have always loved me. Let us fully be open to God as scripture leads us, ““The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” Mark 1:15

4. The Transfiguration – HOLINESS: Before them the Lord showed His true holiness. Our love for one another should also be holy and perfect in His sight. But we must keep in mind that our holiness in Him is loving Him with all that we are, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27 Our love for one another is a choice, even if you find your spouse no longer loves you; in this mystery let us ask Jesus to help us love our spouses, no matter what, period.

5. Institution of The Eucharist – ADORATION: Through the sacrifice of the Holy Mass, Jesus is brought to us. Let us as a couple and a family, always go before the altar of the Lord. Let us recognize the eternal value of one another before God. Arm and arm we stand before God, to receive Him together. Let us always remain in love, “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. “ John 15:9

Hello Everybody,

Today Lord we continue sharing in our Marriage reflections. God has given us the most special Glorious of gifts to share: Marriage. Let us really try to do our best to make it work and to do whatever we must to heal all its wounds; while we maintain a serious devout unconditional love for one another. There is much to celebrate throughout the years. Life undoubtedly creates challenges and at times and even makes the whole experience difficult; we must not lose heart. With God’s grace let us continue to love and cherish one another. Enjoy today’s reflections.

The Glorious Mysteries

1. The Resurrection – FAITH: We are united in God’s eye as one, and by His love we have faith in Him that our love will last for our entire lives together. Marriage isn’t about our own individual needs, it’s all about our combined dreams and hope and faith that keeps it going. Let us have the faith that God will help see us through each day, and each trial; under His protection He will bless us. Let us remain faithful to Him, “The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. “ 1 Timothy 1:14

2. The Ascension – HOPE: Together we unite our hopes and dreams; together we hope that the years ahead will be a blessing and Joy and it’ll be eternally special for us to share together. Dear Lord help us to have all that You so desire for us; in the hope that we fulfill your will in our lives. We fully trust in You Lord that with all our hearts, that You will fill us to overflowing levels with your faith, hope and love. In scripture it is said, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

3. The Descent of The Holy Spirit – LOVE: It was through God’s love for us, that we gain the knowledge of what true love really is. God loved us even though in our hearts we know we don’t deserve it; yet He loves us anyway. We have many flaws, many reasons and shortcomings that make us unworthy; yet God continues to love us unconditionally. Please Lord guides our hearts in love to find that same unconditional devotion and love to one another. Scriptures says, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” Ephesians 5:25-17

4. The Assumption – ETERNAL HAPPINESS: Thank you Lord for always loving us; for never giving up on us and for dying so that we might live eternally with you in Heaven. Lord I ask that you help me see the eternal values in our Marriage, may I see how much our love is entwined in our love for You. Even though we can’t “see” love; I ask dear Lord that in our faith we eternally love one another through You. Our eyes must not lose sight of the love that is what it is in our love for another. Thank you Lord for always eternally loving us, “Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:8-9

5. The Coronation – DEVOTION TO MOTHER MARY: How true this mystery is; our love and devotion together in faith, we Pray The Rosary together. You know Lord how powerful the Rosary is in the life of those who are faithful to You; let us further extend that faithfulness to one another when we Pray The Rosary together, loving and adoring You. It is through Mary that we find Jesus, let us pray that we find ourselves undivided in the focus and love we have You Lord. And may that devotion help guide us to be more deeply devoted to one another. In scripture we read, “I am saying this for your own good, not to restrict you, but that you may live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 7:35

The Sorrowful Mysteries

Hello Everybody,

And so our Couples Rosary Devotion continues in line with the days Rosary. I pray that all married couples are taking the time to work on their marriage, their relationship, and their issues. Marriage is a very special gift, sometimes we don’t fully understand each other, and that’s not always bad. Sometimes we just need to be more patient with one another. Allow God to touch your heart with His love, and in turn love your spouse with the same love. I hope you enjoy todays reflections..

The Sorrowful Mysteries

1. The Agony in the Garden –REPENTANCE: Yes Lord this can be difficult, but in any marriage, any healthy Godly marriage, we must be open and loving enough to know when we have done wrong. Jesus paid the price for our sins; He bore the burden of our sins and paid the price. Guide my heart oh Lord, to never allow our relationship to lose its peace and love to vanish, no matter how difficult times get. Scripture says, “Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38

2. The Scourging at the Pillar – MORTIFICATION: This mystery needs special attention Lord. I can’t allow the desire of the flesh, or the life of living to be more important than You. Please Lord lead me away from the things that pull my attention away from my spouse, I wish to die to my own selfishness. You teach us, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless." Ephesians :25-27

3. The Crowning of Thorns – HUMILITY: Marriage is about being very humble. When we became one, we place the other one before ourselves. Love does make sacrifices, sometimes ones we can handle, other times ones that hurt. Please Lord guide my heart to always put my spouse’s best interest first. I must do as scripture says, by remaining focused on You. “Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.” Matthew 10:39

4. The Carrying of the Cross – PATIENCE: There is no way any marriage stands a chance if we didn’t have patience with one another. It is love that inspires us to be patient with the one we love. Lord please guide my heart and my words to only be loving and forgiving in every single situation. Please Lord teach us to also bear each others crosses. My only desire is to serve you Lord through this union. Scripture is clear, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12

5. The Crucifixion of Jesus – LOVE OUR ENEMIES: Let us surrender completely to Jesus, by doing so His power will work through all that we do. The only way we can legitimately honestly forgive our enemies, is by the grace God has instilled in us. In this mystery Lord, please guide me and my spouse as we enter into challenging situations that create havoc and anger. Help me engrain the very words you teach us in the gospel, “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:14-15
