BEADS OF JOY 05-23-19
“Abide In His Love”

My Friends,
Today’s Gospel: John 15:9-11 (Jesus The Real Vine)
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”
Reflection:
Our gratitude and love for what God has done for us, needs to be our life’s focus. Let us spend our entire life loving God with all our heart; no matter what we do, there is no way we can ever out give our love to God. We must remember He loved us first, long before we could ever love Him. Through Jesus Christ -God has given us a love that is immeasurable; and the love and joy He gave us, is meant to be eternal -for all to take and for all to enjoy. We must unite with Jesus and make that unity with Him inseparable. Look at what scripture says about these things: John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
Our sins have been paid for in full. Jesus was put on the cross because our sins, and in that He has paid the price of our sins. Jesus outstretched His arms and gave even His last breathe to every one of us. We must love Jesus the same way, “to our last breathe”. That is a hard saying I agree, but we will learn in doing, and by living that way; that we can more easily overcome the challenges in our lives. Our selfishness will just go away, it’s amazing but so true when you are true to God in doing this. Pride will no longer be a driving force in all our decisions, we will want to put others (especially family and friends) first always. Your heart is changed, cleansed and yearns to be more like Jesus.
Pondering these thoughts today: Do you know that the Joy of Jesus, do you know His Love -inside your heart can’t ever be taken away from you, unless you permit it to? Not even death has any power to take away this kind of Joy and Love. I challenge you to fully surrender your life, your interests, your time, your treasures and your thoughts to Jesus. What cross have you been blessed to carry in your life, either temporarily or for the duration of your entire life? Allow this cross to draw you ever closer to Jesus, consider the cross a blessing, not a curse; for the blessing is that it is drawing you closer to Jesus…
