Last Weeks Prayers 8/10-16

©2015 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

8/16/15 SUNDAY -Rosary Man Jim's Reflection/Prayer

Good morning my dear sisters and brothers. I pray that Jesus fills your hearts with so much love for Him and Others as we begin this day. Today's Gospel is John 6:51-58 (The Bread of Life Discourse) Do you hunger for the bread of life?

Dear Jesus, Thank you for nourishing us and sustaining us with your presence and life-giving word. You my Lord are the bread of life - the heavenly food that sustains us now and that produces everlasting life within us. I desire to always hunger for you and be satisfied in you alone... AMEN.

8/15/15 SATURDAY -Rosary Man Jim's Reflection/Prayer

Good morning everyone. Today is The Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary. Today's Gospel is Luke 1:39-56 (Mary Visits Elizabeth) Do you live in the joy and confidence of God's indwelling presence with you through his Holy Spirit?
Dear Jesus, fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me overflowing joy, when it comes to seeking you. Nothing fills my heart with more love, then your love Lord. Please, increase my faith in all your promises, my hope in the joys of heaven and my love for You which is most important to me above all things. Thank you Jesus... AMEN.

8/14/15 FRIDAY -Rosary Man Jim's Reflection/Prayer

Good morning everyone. I pray that all of you have had a great week. I understand that the stresses of each day is more than enough. Today's Gospel is Matthew 19:3-12 (Marriage and Divorce) Do you seek our Lord Jesus Christ and His grace in whatever state of life you are in?

Dear Jesus, when you call us to holiness, it is about every single part of our lives. Pleased sanctify our lives - as married couples and as singles - our objective is to live our lives consecrated to you. Our society has its own version of basically everything; but it is through our love for you Lord that we stay on track following your will. Thank you Jesus... AMEN.

8/13/15 THURSDAY -Rosary Man Jim's Reflection/Prayer

Good morning my beloved sisters and brothers. May Our Lord shine His love into your day... and into your life... ALWAYS. Today's Gospel is Matthew 18:21-19:1 (The Parable of The Unforgiving Servant) Do you hold a grudge or resentment towards anyone? Ask Our Lord to purify your heart..

Dear Jesus, you have always been kind and forgiving towards me even in my stubbornness. May I to be merciful towards others as you are merciful towards me. Please free Lord me from any and all bitterness and resentment, so that I may truly forgive from the heart those who have caused me injury or grief. Thank you Jesus... AMEN.

8/12/15 WEDNESDAY -Rosary Man Jim's Reflection/Prayer

Good morning my dear sisters and brothers.. as the month rolls forward my fears of making it all come together build as they do each month.. Today's Gospel is Matthew 18:15-20 (The Brother Who Sins) Do you tolerate broken relationships or do you seek to repair them as God gives you the opportunity to mend and restore what is broken?

Dear Jesus, please make me an instrument (a channel) of your healing love and peace. I desire the wisdom and courage to bring your healing love and saving truth to those in need of healing and restoration. So many of us suffer with health issues, relationship issues, hunger and so much more. Thank you Lord for always loving me... AMEN.

8/11/15 TUESDAY -Rosary Man Jim's Reflection/Prayer

Good morning to ALL my dear sisters and brothers around the world. Love you guys and pray for all you every single day. Today's Gospel is Matthew 18:1-5, 10, 12-14 (The Greatest in The Kingdom) Seekers of the lost are much needed today. Do you pray and seek after those you know who have lost their way to God?

Dear Jesus, teach me humility and simplicity of the heart the way you so desire me to be, so that I may find perfect joy always and only in you. I pray Lord that your light may shine through me that others may see your truth and love and find hope and peace in you. I am here to share you with others Lord and I love it... AMEN.

Dear Jesus, let me be the seed in the earth, to be harvested for you; so that I may better serve you. I shall always follow you Lord, wherever you lead me. Ambassadors of the Rosary

My Friends,
UPDATED LIST for Friday, August 14, 2015.
Every single Friday at Midnight (Eastern Standard Time) I will POST an updated blog, with new names of those joining us and the new mystery each of us will pray on that Friday… Thank you all for joining us. Let us begin this Rosary -as you would begin any Rosary -with The Apostles Creed… then Your Mystery...and end together with the Hail Holy Queen…
THE APOSTLE'S CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified; died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

HAIL HOLY QUEEN
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Leader: Pray for us O Holy Mother of God,
All: That we may be worthy of the promises of Christ. -AMEN
(Optional)
Leader: Let us pray.
All: O God whose only begotten Son by his life, death, and Resurrection has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant we beseech thee, that meditating on these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

Benefits of Praying The Rosary
(Given to St. Dominic and Blessed Alan de la Roche)
1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive powerful graces.
2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies
4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of people from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.
6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its Sacred Mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovoked death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.
7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.
8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the Saints in Paradise.
9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.
12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death
14. All who recite the Rosary are my children, and brothers and sisters of my only Son, Jesus Christ.
15. Devotion of my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

Blessing of the Rosary
1. Sinners are forgiven.
2. Souls that thirst are refreshed.
3. Those who are fettered have their bonds broken.
4. Those who weep find happiness
5. Those who are tempted find peace.
6. The poor find help.
7. Religious are reformed.
8. Those who are ignorant are instructed.
9. The living learn to overcome pride.
10. The dead (the Holy Souls) have their pains eased by suffrages.

Indulgences
from Enchiridion indulgentiarum Recitation of the Marian Rosary (Rosarii marialis recitatio)
An indulgence is the remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven, a remission, which one of the faithful, properly disposed and under certain definite conditions, can acquire through the Church, which authoritatively dispenses, applying the treasure of the satisfactions of Christ and the Saints.
An indulgence is either PLENARY or PARTIAL, depending upon whether it frees one from the whole or from a part of the temporal punishment due to sin.
This means that one of the faithful who, with at least a contrite heart, performs a work enriched with a partial indulgence, is granted by the power of the Church that same amount of remission of temporal punishment as he has already obtained by the work itself. In other words, the remission is doubled, and that as often as the work prescribed is performed.  A plenary indulgence means a full remission of temporal punishment, provided that several other conditions apply, in addition  to the work performed or prayer said.
plenary indulgence is granted, if the Rosary is recited in a church or public oratory or in a family group, a religious Community or pious Association; a partial indulgence is granted in other circumstances.
  • "Now the Rosary is a certain formula of prayer, which is made up of fifteen decades of "Hail Marys" with an "Our Father" before each decade, and in which the recitation of each decade is accompanied by pious meditation on a particular mystery of our Redemption."(Roman Breviary) The name "Rosary," however, is commonly used in reference to only a third part of the fifteen decades.
The gaining of the plenary indulgence is regulated by the following norms:
  • 1) The recitation of a third part only of the Rosary suffices; but the five decades must be recited continuously.
  • 2) The vocal recitation must be accompanied by pious meditation on the mysteries.
  • 3) In public recitation the mysteries must be announced in the manner customary in the place; for private recitation, however, it suffices if the vocal recitation is accompanied by meditation on the mysteries.

The True Empathetic Heart

©2015 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

 Hello My Friends,

The True Empathetic Heart… Hmmm what does that mean? So many of us can relate to so many stories we hear and that others experience in our own lives; but yet at the same time so many of us are completely unable to even slightly relate to or understand the challenges or pain of another.

So when you can’t relate to someone else’s situation or suffering, what do you do? Stop listening? Ignore? Walk away? Nod your head, hoping they would just shut up? Prejudge them? Talk about them behind their back? (He or She is so lazy! He or She needs to get a job! What does he or she want me to do? Or say to yourself, Oh my god the drama!) Really what do you do?

Now you look at me and say: What do you suggest I do? Ok, I will gladly help you with that… How about this, for starters... CARE about what they have to say! Really be a good, no a great listener! Ask questions about things you don’t understand! Tell them that you don’t understand and that you want to understand! Let your compassion show in your questions…

Empathy is one of the major building blocks of true heart-felt generosity -it really helps if you can put yourself in someone else’s shoes when they are suffering, when they are hungry, when they are emotionally drained and exhausted. Why? ...it helps you better understand their perspective in their situation and it helps you better understand their needs.

Without the empathy of truly having "been there -done that" people tend to NOT help those in need. It's sadly true. Most everyone knows a neighbor or a friend or a family member who is going through a horrific storm of issues that leave that person hungry, in pain and feeling forgotten. And so many who can do something; often do nothing, simply because they have no clue what's really going on. They can't relate to it, so many dismiss it.

Can you relate these situations?
-I burned my hand on a hot pot handleOh my god it hurt for so long… You can relate to that right.

-I was walking through my living room.. And I stubbed my toe on the couch leg, the pain radiated through my body.. Something else you can relate to.

Now try to relate to these situations?
-Looking at my wife pretty much dying as she weakens,  2 times the hospital called me and said she may not make it through the night. WHILE I was working nights and taking care of the 3 of our 5 kids who were still living at home, all on my own… Can you relate to that?

-How about this one? “Dad there’s no food in the house!” I say, “I am so sorry. I know, but rent is due and me and mommy have to figure out what we can afford to buy, please have patience… we’ll get something…” This is a regular conversation after welfare money is gone 10-12 days into the month. HUNGER! Can you really relate to it?

-Kids to me and Chrissy, “Why don’t we ever do anything, go out? See a movie? Go to the mall?” Well this is a can of worms… “Mommy sleeps all day because she works all night (even while still having cancer), because daddy had a stroke and his left side remains numb while his eyes get worse. I promise one day we will…” Can you relate to that?

HOPE this opens the eyes to those who use to never have any idea; maybe now you can talk to them with a True Empathetic Heart…

Today' Gospel is Matthew 17:14-20 (The Healing of a Boy with a Demon) When you have trials and disappointments how do you respond? With faith and trust in Jesus? It's not always easy...

Dear Jesus, please help my unbelief, my doubt, my temptations! I beg of you Lord to help me increase my faith and trust in your saving power. Please give me confidence and perseverance, most especially in my daily prayer life. And my greatest desire is to bring your healing love and truth to those I meet. Spreading your love and joy -is my joy Lord... AMEN.

8/07/15 FRIDAY -Rosary Man Jim's Reflection/Prayer

Good morning my blessed sisters and brothers; another week has come to a close. But our prayers shall continue into a weekend of prayer. Today's Gospel is Matthew 16:24-28 (The Conditions of Discipleship) Are you seriously ready to lose everything for Jesus Christ in order to gain all with Jesus Christ? I am !!!

Dear Jesus, please receive all my freedom, all my understanding, and my entire will, everything that I have and everything that I possess. You have given them all to me; to you, O Lord, all that I am is yours, dispose of them from my life according to your will. Like I have said for decades, "You can all this world has to offer, its wealth, its lusts, its things; all I want and desire is Jesus."... AMEN.

8/06/15 THURSDAY -Rosary Man Jim's Reflection/Prayer

Good Morning my dear precious sisters and brothers. Today's Gospel is Mark 9:2-10 (The Transfiguration of The Lord) AWESOME DAY !!! Do you seek our Lord's presence with faith and reverence? He is truly an awesome God.

Dear Jesus, please always keep me alert and awake to you and to your word, your action and your daily presence in my life. Let me see your glory in every direction I look. You are the most amazing Joy in my life. I seek you Lord every single day of my life, making my day complete and whole... AMEN.

8/05/15 WEDNESDAY -Rosary Man Jim's Reflection/Prayer

Good morning everyone. My thoughts and prayers every single day are with you my dear sisters and brothers. Today's Gospel is Matthew 15:21-28 (The Canaanite Woman's Faith) No one who ever sought Jesus with earnest faith was ever refused. Do you seek the Lord Jesus with earnest faith?

Dear Jesus, your love and mercy for us knows no bounds. I shall always trust in you my Lord and pursue you with the same persistence as the Canaanite woman did. Please increase my faith and deliver me from the evil and harm and hatred in this world. I know at times there's no way to avoid it; but showering me in your love gives me the strength and wisdom to move forward... AMEN.

8/04/15 TUESDAY -Rosary Man Jim's Reflection/Prayer

Good morning my dear precious sisters and brothers. May our day be filled with Hope, Peace and Joy –Trusting fully in Jesus. Today's Gospel is Matthew 14:22-36 (Jesus Walks on The Water) When calamities or trials threaten to overwhelm you, how do you respond? Is it with faith, hope and trust and focus on Jesus?

Dear Jesus, please continue to help me to trust you always and to never doubt your presence and power when you’re helping me. I do experience moments of doubt and weakness, during those moments may I cling to you as Peter did for strength. Please strengthen my faith Lord as I walk straight on the path you set before me, never ever veering to the left nor to the right. You are the center of my life Lord and you shall always be... AMEN.

8/03/15 MONDAY -Rosary Man Jim's Reflection/Prayer

A new week has begun my dear precious sisters and brothers. I am looking forward to an exciting week of Prayer. Today's pictorial focus is the "Hail Mary". Today's Gospel is Matthew 14:13-21 (The Feeding of the 5,000) Do you really trust fully in God's provision for you and do you share freely with others; especially those you know who hungry?

Dear Jesus, you always satisfy the deepest longing of our hearts and you always feed us. Please fill my heart with gratitude for your blessings and give me a most generous heart; that I may freely share all that I have with others what you have given to me. The poor seem to always reach out to others who are poor and hungry. You have blessed us Lord with an empathy of compassion that we must take care of each other. Thank you Jesus... AMEN.

Ambassadors of the Rosary

My Friends,
UPDATED LIST for Friday, August 7, 2015.
