Today’s Gospel: John 6:1-15 (Multiplications of The Loaves)
“After this Jesus went to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias. And a multitude followed him, because they saw the signs which he did on those who were diseased. Jesus went up on the mountain, and there sat down with his disciples. Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand. Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a multitude was coming to him, Jesus said to Philip, "How are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?" This he said to test him, for he himself knew what he would do. Philip answered him, "Two hundred denarii would not buy enough bread for each of them to get a little." One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to him, "There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two fish; but what are they among so many?" Jesus said, "Make the people sit down." Now there was much grass in the place; so, the men sat down, in number about five thousand. Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated; so also, the fish, as much as they wanted. And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, "Gather up the fragments left over, that nothing may be lost." So, they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves, left by those who had eaten. When the people saw the sign which he had done, they said, "This is indeed the prophet who is to come into the world!" Perceiving then that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, Jesus withdrew again to the mountain by himself.”

Reflection:
It is only through Jesus Christ that our deepest hunger can be satisfied. And just like the multitude who ate till they were satisfied, so are we satisfied when Jesus fills our lives every single day; with His Word and His Love and His Mercy and His Compassion and His Forgiveness. What can possibly be found on the face of this earth, that can even remotely satisfy the deep longing and hunger we have for Jesus? Nothing! Only Jesus! For when Jesus came into the world; He made all things perfect and new again.

Let us keep in mind how generous God is and in how He takes care of us. For He blessed them with bread and fish and like the gospel says today, “…when they had eaten their fill,” That is truly abundant giving and a blessing beyond anyone’s imagination. I know I am repeating myself in some ways, but it is so important to see how today’s scripture shows us God’s kindness and love for us. We can’t always get what we want (I’m not gonna start singing a Rolling Stones song... lol). We must be patient and reverent to our Lord, for He knows our needs before we ask for them.

Dear Jesus, you always satisfy the deepest longing of our hearts. When we are hungry you find a way to lead someone’s heart to feed us. Please Lord, fill me with tremendous gratitude and a generous heart, that I may freely share with others what you have given to me. Even in our poverty we can give to others. Thank you, Lord, for looking after my family, during these most difficult times. I don’t always understand why, but I know I trust fully in You... AMEN.

Pondering these thoughts today: Do you trust in God's provision for you and do you share freely with others, especially those who are hungry and in need? Sometimes we do suffer greatly in many areas of our lives, I can’t speak for everyone; but what I have learned is that during those most difficult times it was Jesus who comforting our family and we knew it.

LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!
