BEADS OF JOY 03-31-18
“Holy Saturday”

My Friends,
Today’s Vigil Gospel: Luke 23:50-56 (The Burial of Jesus)
“Now there was a man named Joseph
from the Jewish town of Arimathea. He was a member of the council, a good and righteous
man, who had not consented to their purpose and deed, and he was looking for
the kingdom of God. This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.
Then he took it down and wrapped it in a linen shroud, and laid him in a
rock-hewn tomb, where no one had ever yet been laid. It was the day of
Preparation, and the sabbath was beginning. The women who had come with him
from Galilee followed, and saw the tomb, and how his body was laid; then they
returned, and prepared spices and ointments. On the sabbath they rested
according to the commandment.”
Reflection:
Today is a day that we should not blog, not speak or not celebrate; after diligent research and many years of experience through Lent leading up to Easter, it is known that No Mass is in today's liturgy, only tonight’s Vigil Mass. This isn't a day to be sad, but rather one to be waiting with excitement and anticipation of Jesus conquering death. Death will no longer hold us; we are now able to be united with Jesus in Heaven after our physical death. Tomorrow will be the most joyous day for us to Celebrate! Today is a day of prayer and silence; and in my prayer suggestion, either Pray The Rosary or The Stations of the Cross, this will help you be close to Jesus, close to scripture and close to our Lady.
