My Friends,
Today’s Gospel: John 20:1-9 (The Empty Tomb)
“Now on the first day of the week
Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that
the stone had been taken away from the tomb. So, she ran, and went to Simon
Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them,
"They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they
have laid him." Peter then came out with the other disciple, and they went
toward the tomb. They both ran, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached
the tomb first; and stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there,
but he did not go in. Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the
tomb; he saw the linen cloths lying, and the napkin, which had been on his
head, not lying with the linen cloths but rolled up in a place by itself. Then
the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and
believed; for as yet they did not know the scripture, that he must rise from
the dead.”
Reflection:
It was Peter and John who first ran to our Lord’s tomb -Easter morning. What were they expecting to find? What were they expecting to see? What were their fears? What were their anticipated joys? As Apostles Peter and John had spent many years side by side with our Lord. They attentively listened to Jesus’ words, witnessed many countless miracles and knew for a fact that Jesus said He would rise on the third day. For all eternity there’d be no doubt if they could only witness that Jesus, the Word of God become flesh –has Risen and defeated death for all eternity for all of us. And what did they find? An empty tomb!!! He has Risen!!!
Let us also embrace that Joy, that Excitement; that overflowing feeling of a love that only Jesus can have for us. And once we have embraced and taken possession of this most incredible love, let us share it with everyone, every single day. Keep your prayer life alive and constantly consistent. Might I recommend that you spend time Praying The Rosary every day. For all eternity these wonderful blessed beads will keep our Lord’s love alive and flowing through your veins at levels that will be overflowing and exciting. Your life will never be the same, and you will feel so much closer to Our Lord, Our Lady and our eternity with them that we all wait for.
You see: The Rosary in its splendor is assembled in such a way that our hearts are filled with tremendous love. Through that love –the JOY within us overflows, so that we desire to be with our Mother every single day; and because of this overflowing Joy and our unity with her we hunger even more too always be with Jesus. Through the weight of the Cross and the Glory of His Resurrection His love for us is magnified and our love for Him is deepened. Pray The Rosary every single day and you will understand what I mean.
HAPPY EASTER my Friends!!!
LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!
