Look on the map and see what time FRIDAY you will be praying with us.
My Friends,
UPDATED LIST for Friday, Feb. 14, 2014.
Every single Friday at Midnight (Eastern Standard Time) I will POST an updated blog, with new names of those joining us and the new mystery each of us will pray on that Friday… Thank you all for joining us. Let us begin this Rosary -as you would begin any Rosary -with The Apostles Creed… then Your Mystery...and end together with the Hail Holy Queen…
THE APOSTLE'S CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified; died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

HAIL HOLY QUEEN
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Leader: Pray for us O Holy Mother of God,
All: That we may be worthy of the promises of Christ. -AMEN
(Optional)
Leader: Let us pray.
All: O God whose only begotten Son by his life, death, and Resurrection has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant we beseech thee, that meditating on these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

Benefits of Praying The Rosary
(Given to St. Dominic and Blessed Alan de la Roche)
1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive powerful graces.
2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies
4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of people from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.
6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its Sacred Mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovoked death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.
7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.
8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the Saints in Paradise.
9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.
12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death
14. All who recite the Rosary are my children, and brothers and sisters of my only Son, Jesus Christ.
15. Devotion of my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

Blessing of the Rosary
1. Sinners are forgiven.
2. Souls that thirst are refreshed.
3. Those who are fettered have their bonds broken.
4. Those who weep find happiness
5. Those who are tempted find peace.
6. The poor find help.
7. Religious are reformed.
8. Those who are ignorant are instructed.
9. The living learn to overcome pride.
10. The dead (the Holy Souls) have their pains eased by suffrages.

Indulgences
from Enchiridion indulgentiarum Recitation of the Marian Rosary (Rosarii marialis recitatio)
An indulgence is the remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven, a remission, which one of the faithful, properly disposed and under certain definite conditions, can acquire through the Church, which authoritatively dispenses, applying the treasure of the satisfactions of Christ and the Saints.
An indulgence is either PLENARY or PARTIAL, depending upon whether it frees one from the whole or from a part of the temporal punishment due to sin.
This means that one of the faithful who, with at least a contrite heart, performs a work enriched with a partial indulgence, is granted by the power of the Church that same amount of remission of temporal punishment as he has already obtained by the work itself. In other words, the remission is doubled, and that as often as the work prescribed is performed.  A plenary indulgence means a full remission of temporal punishment, provided that several other conditions apply, in addition  to the work performed or prayer said.
A plenary indulgence is granted, if the Rosary is recited in a church or public oratory or in a family group, a religious Community or pious Association; a partial indulgence is granted in other circumstances.
  • "Now the Rosary is a certain formula of prayer, which is made up of fifteen decades of "Hail Marys" with an "Our Father" before each decade, and in which the recitation of each decade is accompanied by pious meditation on a particular mystery of our Redemption."(Roman Breviary) The name "Rosary," however, is commonly used in reference to only a third part of the fifteen decades.
The gaining of the plenary indulgence is regulated by the following norms:
  • 1) The recitation of a third part only of the Rosary suffices; but the five decades must be recited continuously.
  • 2) The vocal recitation must be accompanied by pious meditation on the mysteries.
  • 3) In public recitation the mysteries must be announced in the manner customary in the place; for private recitation, however, it suffices if the vocal recitation is accompanied by meditation on the mysteries.

The Sorrowful Mysteries

BEADS OF JOY 02-11-14
“The Sorrowful Mysteries”
©2014 James Dacey, Jr. OFS
My Friends,
These Mysteries are the most difficult, the most hurtful and the most painful. My heart-aches, the tears flow and my soul feels so unworthy. Yet my Lord –and my God gave all that He had (His very life) to save mine. It is very challenging for me most times when watching these scenes on “The Passion of The Christ”. Yet in my heart and in my soul I know I need to watch and I need to cry. I need to see what my sin has done to my Lord…
The Sorrowful Mysteries…

First Sorrowful Mystery – Agony in The Garden.
Even Jesus in all that He had, and all that He could do; He still turned to God the Father to prepare for what difficulties were to come. I kneel here looking at Jesus kneeling in the Garden looking towards His Father. And yet in His request to avoid the pain and suffering that is to come; He finishes by saying, “; nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” As Jesus has shown us here under tremendous stress, we to need to have full Conformity to the Will of God. Let us be strong in Jesus, by forsaking our own wants and desires. As I live my life I say, “I want God’s Will to be my life, I don’t care about me; rather I live my life for He who died for me.”

Second Sorrowful Mystery – Scourging at The Pillar.
Dear Lord, I have so much trouble staying focused; watching you suffer while your body is being ripped apart by that whip. There is blood everywhere, you blood Lord. The pain and suffering you are so unfairly receiving; because of my selfishness brings a constant flow of tears to my eyes. I am so unworthy of such love from anyone. Why Lord? Why must You suffer so much for me? In the Mortification of my body and my desires of this world, I shall stay focused on loving You with all I have Lord; sacrificing my selfishness and replacing it with more love for You and Your Mother. Nothing in my life shall ever come before You.

Third Sorrowful Mystery – Crowning with Thorns.
My Lord this unnecessary humiliation is outrageous to see, You are being mocked and spit upon and hated. My Lord I beg of You to please forgive me for my selfish foolish ways; You have such patience and Moral Courage. I shall follow You Lord to the ends of the earth. My life, my wants, my desires, my hope, my dreams, my goals; all these Lord will be wrapped up in You. You my Lord are my Savior, You are the King of Kings and Lord of Lord in my life; I shall have no other. This mystery helps me learn greatly about patience and courage.

Fourth Sorrowful Mystery – Carrying of The Cross.
My Lord, The heavy burdensome weight of this huge Cross; must have hurt you tremendously to carry for so long. Your Patience Lord in suffering, is suffering that no child of God can possible understand. But what we can understand is how much You really love me. I can see Mary looking at You Lord as You were passing here with this Cross on Your back. Your eyes meet hers, You looked upon her with love letting her know; it’s ok mother I have to do this. Her return stare of love, tears flowing endlessly; yet she shows confidence in what Your eyes have spoken. I shall always accept whatever Crosses I must carry patiently with understanding.

Fifith Sorrowful Mystery – The Crucifixion.
Jesus my Lord and my God -I see You on the Cross, I see Your blood dripping everywhere. Your hands, Your feet, Your forehead… My tears keep flowing I can’t stop crying, my heart is aching, breaking, being ripped apart. I WANT THIS TO STOP!!!! My Lord You have always lived a life of complete Self-denial, never ever putting any of Your wants or needs ever before us. And Lord at the very moment of this most painful suffering part of Your earthly life; You give Your Mother Mary to us so that she may also be our Mother. A Mother I shall forever eternally love my Lord. Mary my Mother I love you so much; for in you I shall always find Jesus.

“YOU CAN HAVE ALL THIS WORLD HAS TO OFFER, ITS WEALTH, ITS LUSTS, ITS THINGS; ALL I WANT AND DESIRE IS JESUS.” ~ I've been saying his for decades... I sincerely with all my heart mean every single word of it…

The Joyful Mysteries

BEADS OF JOY 02-10-14
“The Joyful Mysteries”
©2014 James Dacey, Jr. OFS
My Friends,
I hope you enjoy these heartfelt meditations. I love our Lord and our Lady and the Rosary so much. My heart fluttered at the very thought of putting these meditations together.
The JOYFUL MYSTERIES…

First Joyful Mystery –The Annunciation.
As I was visiting with Mary I noticed the way she lived her life; her Humility was a very dynamic part of who she was and is. She was friendly but shy, a life devoted and trusted in God’s Will… Ready, more than ready for whatever would be asked of her. Then the Angel Gabriel arrived, ready and confident that God’s choice in Mary was beyond excellent. As the Angel spoke to her you can see how attentive and yet almost knowingly ready for God to ask of something of her. Slightly unclear of the possibilities of the request; yet without hesitation she responded “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.” Thank you Mary…

Second Joyful Mystery –The Visitation.
As my visit continued Mary was packing a small bag of a couple of personal items; she seemed in a hurry. I learned that Mary’s cousin Elizabeth was also pregnant in answer to prayer; but Elizabeth was up in years. In response Mary went in haste into the hill country. This was an incredible journey for a young girl who was pregnant. The Love of Neighbor in Mary’s heart was shining. She was putting the needs of her cousin before her own. Mary and Elizabeth’s embrace was one of love for each other and one of concern for each other. Elizabeth knew Mary was carrying God with her; even the child in Elizabeth’s womb leap with joy.

Third Joyful Mystery –The Birth of Jesus.
Joseph searched persistently for a place for Mary to be comfortable and ready; knowing that the evening ahead would be one that great joy. I can see that his focus was on Mary’s safety and comfort; his eyes were filled with so much love. The Inn he had hoped to get in was filled. But Mary and Joseph lived in Poverty / with full Detachment from the things of this world. So they had nothing, and couldn't really afford anything; so for tonight a humble manger will have to do. Surrounded by shepherds and some animals in the manger Jesus made a quiet yet profound entrance into the world and into our souls.

Fourth Joyful Mystery –The Presentation.
I am following Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus; where are they going? In Obedience and according to the Law of Moses; they were bringing Jesus to present Him to the Lord, with their sacrifice of two turtledoves. They are on the steps now, who are they talking to? An older gentleman by the name of Simeon, now I see Simeon holding baby Jesus. I can barely hear him, he is speaking about “according to thy word”; “this child will rise and fall”; and looking at Mary he said, “A sword shall pierce through thy own soul.” In silence Mary ponders these words in her heart. Mary fully and most certainly accepts all that comes with accepting God’s Will in her life.

Fifth Joyful Mystery -Finding in The Temple.
The Feast of the Passover will be here soon, all of us are beginning to take the long journey to Jerusalem. On our journey back I can see that Joseph and Mary were frantically searching for Jesus. Oh no, where is Jesus, He’s nowhere in sight? Oh there He is, He is at the temple, asking questions and spending time with elders. Living a life of Piety like Jesus must be our life’s goal. I can see by this mystery of losing sight of Jesus, that I must do all I can to not lose sight of Him in my life. He died for me and gave all He had for sinful, pitiful me; in turn in my life must be a gift of sacrifice fully remaining focused on Him.

LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

Let Your Light So Shine

BEADS OF JOY 02-09-14
“Let Your Light So Shine”
©2014 James Dacey, Jr. OFS
Today’s Gospel: Matthew 5:13-16 (Salt and Light) “You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden under foot by men. "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

My Friends,
Salt and light, two very important things that are in our life. Salt plays many roles in what we eat, we use salt to season and flavor and preserve our foods. On the physical side of our bodies, salt is very important in many functions. I learned that salt actually helps maintain our blood cells; it also carries information to our nerves and muscles. And did you know our bodies can't produce salt, so we need to make sure we add salt to our diet either in the foods we eat, or to the foods we eat. If you take the time to look at the biological side of the importance of light, there wouldn't be enough time today to share it all. I might need to devote a week to share all the facts I have found. But to sum it up quickly, light is critical in the process of photosynthesis. And photosynthesis according to this document from my sons school when he was in Arizona, says that. “Photosynthesis is arguably the most important biological processes on earth." So all that says a lot about today's gospel, when you read the first seven words in verse 13, "You are the salt of the earth," and then the first seven words of verse 14, "You are the light of the world."

Now think about the light (candles) in the time of Jesus, and how they were critical beyond our needs today. Today we flip a switch and think nothing of it, back in Jesus' time to have light in the midst of the nights darkness was critical. Towns and cities didn't light up the sky at night back then, like they do today. They did light up the area to some degree, because there was virtually no light, but not like the cities do today. And when you reflect upon that and think of its most important benefit in the darkness, what is it? The light in the darkness helps to prevent us from falling. The light helps serve as a guide so we can plainly see the things that would make us fall. So instead of falling, we maneuver around that which is in our way. Just as Jesus (the light of the world), teaches us to be like Him before others. Read verse 16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." And now let's take a look at how "salt" it can be translated into our ministry as helping draw others to Jesus. Salt does several things, purify, preserve, and penetrate. We can help purify the world with God's word and love; and then we can preserve the good it develops; and as we share more and more with others, we can penetrate into the farthest reaches of the earth sharing God's word and love with everyone. As salt to the body, must be added to keep healthy; so must we add Jesus into the world to better preserve it, and keep it healthy.

>Today I pray: Dear Lord please help all of us, to see how important we all are in His ministry in this world. Amongst us, there are many who believe, some of us lead, and some of us follow. No matter what role we are in, we are all in the "sharing Jesus" mode of our ministry, which is all about sharing His ministry. Sharing the very Joy of the relationship we have with Him, to others. I pray Lord that the blindness of sin and the deception it can create in the lives of all of us, be lifted from us. We need clarity and strength to share your word and your gospel with others Dear Lord, I further pray that, salt and light emanate from each of our souls as people get to know us, and see us and learn about us. May others see You Lord, when they see us. Not in physical form, or Almighty magnificence, but rather in Your humble, loving attitude with life and Your love towards others. Please my Lord direct all our hearts fully and completely to You. We ask this in Your Name my Dear Jesus. AMEN.

Pondering these thoughts today: True Joy, Joy that is eternal comes straight from living our life, in the light of God's truth and love. Once we know we have that love and truth inside us, we should do all we can to constantly share it with everyone... God has given us the Holy Spirit, and in that wonderful pure, beautiful Holy Spirit; there is so much Joy, that I can never ever fully explain in these words. Our language, limits our ability to truly, completely express that kind of Joy in its fullest sense. I say to all my sisters and brothers to be strong and bold in your belief and love for Him, Him who we call Savior and Lord. We have been given a blessed and holy task, and that is be "light for the world" and "salt for the earth" sharing Jesus to all. Me personally, the only thing that will slow me down a little bit; is me in a six foot box, six foot down. But even that won't stop me, our ministry and God’s word will not be stopped. Pray and ask God how you to might, write and share your testimony and love for Him; so that even the grave can't stop you from drawing others to Him. We are all called, just in different ways. Pray to find what way God wishes you to share your story…
