Look on the map and see what time FRIDAY you will be praying with us.
My Friends,
UPDATED LIST for Friday, Feb. 28, 2014.
Every single Friday at Midnight (Eastern Standard Time) I will POST an updated blog, with new names of those joining us and the new mystery each of us will pray on that Friday… Thank you all for joining us. Let us begin this Rosary -as you would begin any Rosary -with The Apostles Creed… then Your Mystery...and end together with the Hail Holy Queen…
THE APOSTLE'S CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified; died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

HAIL HOLY QUEEN
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Leader: Pray for us O Holy Mother of God,
All: That we may be worthy of the promises of Christ. -AMEN
(Optional)
Leader: Let us pray.
All: O God whose only begotten Son by his life, death, and Resurrection has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life; grant we beseech thee, that meditating on these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

Benefits of Praying The Rosary
(Given to St. Dominic and Blessed Alan de la Roche)
1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive powerful graces.
2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies
4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of people from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.
6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its Sacred Mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovoked death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.
7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.
8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the Saints in Paradise.
9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.
12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death
14. All who recite the Rosary are my children, and brothers and sisters of my only Son, Jesus Christ.
15. Devotion of my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

Blessing of the Rosary
1. Sinners are forgiven.
2. Souls that thirst are refreshed.
3. Those who are fettered have their bonds broken.
4. Those who weep find happiness
5. Those who are tempted find peace.
6. The poor find help.
7. Religious are reformed.
8. Those who are ignorant are instructed.
9. The living learn to overcome pride.
10. The dead (the Holy Souls) have their pains eased by suffrages.

Indulgences
from Enchiridion indulgentiarum Recitation of the Marian Rosary (Rosarii marialis recitatio)
An indulgence is the remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven, a remission, which one of the faithful, properly disposed and under certain definite conditions, can acquire through the Church, which authoritatively dispenses, applying the treasure of the satisfactions of Christ and the Saints.
An indulgence is either PLENARY or PARTIAL, depending upon whether it frees one from the whole or from a part of the temporal punishment due to sin.
This means that one of the faithful who, with at least a contrite heart, performs a work enriched with a partial indulgence, is granted by the power of the Church that same amount of remission of temporal punishment as he has already obtained by the work itself. In other words, the remission is doubled, and that as often as the work prescribed is performed.  A plenary indulgence means a full remission of temporal punishment, provided that several other conditions apply, in addition  to the work performed or prayer said.
plenary indulgence is granted, if the Rosary is recited in a church or public oratory or in a family group, a religious Community or pious Association; a partial indulgence is granted in other circumstances.
  • "Now the Rosary is a certain formula of prayer, which is made up of fifteen decades of "Hail Marys" with an "Our Father" before each decade, and in which the recitation of each decade is accompanied by pious meditation on a particular mystery of our Redemption."(Roman Breviary) The name "Rosary," however, is commonly used in reference to only a third part of the fifteen decades.
The gaining of the plenary indulgence is regulated by the following norms:
  • 1) The recitation of a third part only of the Rosary suffices; but the five decades must be recited continuously.
  • 2) The vocal recitation must be accompanied by pious meditation on the mysteries.
  • 3) In public recitation the mysteries must be announced in the manner customary in the place; for private recitation, however, it suffices if the vocal recitation is accompanied by meditation on the mysteries.

Eliminate Your Enemies...

BEADS OF JOY 02-23-14
“Eliminate Your Enemies” ..by Loving Them
©2014 James Dacey, Jr. OFS
Today’s Gospel: Matthew 5:38-48 (Love Your Enemies) “You have heard that it was said, `An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' But I say to you, Do not resist one who is evil. But if any one strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also; and if anyone would sue you and take your coat, let him have your cloak as well; and if any one forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to him who begs from you, and do not refuse him who would borrow from you. "You have heard that it was said, `You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you salute only your brethren, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

My Friends,
So today we will look at something Jesus really wants us to do. I'm not going to say it will be easy, I know for a fact at times, it is next to impossible. But in -All Things Jesus… we must do our best, to do what He wishes us to do. Today we are reflecting on Matthew 5:38-48 (Love Your Enemies). Now do you see what I mean, by the title of the scripture, this isn't going to be easy. The part I do find easy is in the general reflection to that thought. Meaning the people in general that hate us, talk bad about us, offend our faith, you know what I mean. What is difficult is when the enemy hit's close to home, and spiritual, emotional and humble blood is shed by their actions. Then it gets personal and then it becomes very difficult to obey this command of our Lord. I don't claim to be able to do All Things Jesus so easily, I to have many challenges, but I won't stop trying to do my best to do His will every single day of my life. God knows our hearts, He knows our truest of true intentions. We cannot lie to Him, even in quiet within our hearts; He knows what we are really doing our best to accomplish. Our ulterior motives within us shine before Jesus… He sees through the drama of our words and instead see the blood flow within our hearts.

A little biblical reflection here, do you know what the Old Testament said about how we are to respond to our enemies? Well let's see what it says, what to do if we are hurt by them, "But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise." Exodus 21:23-25, pretty serious response don't you think? The Old Testament didn't back down on responding to evil with evil. God's mercy is found in the Old Testament, but let's look at another strong verse responding to one who is guilty, "The judges must make a thorough investigation, and if the witness proves to be a liar, giving false testimony against a fellow Israelite, then do to the false witness as that witness intended to do to the other party. You must purge the evil from among you. The rest of the people will hear of this and be afraid, and never again will such an evil thing be done among you. Show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot." Deuteronomy 19:18-21. It is a little scary how fierce of a response was encouraged in the Old Testament. But Jesus changed all this in the New Testament.

Now that we have seen the evil for evil response in the Old Testament, let us look for the mercy we also find in the Old Testament. "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD." Leviticus 19:18. See now how even the Old Testament teaches us to love our neighbor. God wants us to be sisters and brothers to one another. In doing that, and having that mindset, we do not do anything to harm one another. And in that relationship, brothers and sisters always give each other a "pass" and they forgive and forget and move on. But again, this is so difficult when it is really happening to you and most especially when it is hitting super close to home. The best way to handle it, at least for me, is to pray for your enemies as you and I have identified them to be. These are people who step their way into your life, your family and your business without you’re ok, they are unwelcome intruders. These are people who in the end ultimately destroy your family. This is difficult indeed. When others from the outside stick their nose into your life, we can only do our best to be like Jesus; by living and breathing and doing all we can to follow Jesus' example.

Just guessing, but I think many of you sense that this is personal. You are right in thinking that, but also know that in the fire and smoke of all this craziness and intrusion of privacy; I pray for my enemies and those seeking to separate us. I really do. If I didn't I know for a fact that I would go crazy. It is through my Lord and our Blessed Mother, that I find peace and comfort. You see it's God's grace that has comforted my angry hurt and wounded heart through the years. And in that grace I am able to find forgiveness and love for the unlovable. What exactly is this "grace" I am speaking about? You ask. It's the grace to love and treat those who very well don't deserve it, with kindness, love and mercy. And by God's strength inside our hearts we are able to do just that. Consider this, "In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus." Philippians 2:5. And I will end with this scripture and thought, "so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust." verse 46 in today's gospel. We are all God's children, and as His children, let us only continue to make peace between one another, no matter how difficult it will be. Pray every day and it will get much easier.

These Are His Standards

BEADS OF JOY 02-16-14
“These Are His Standards”
©2014 James Dacey, Jr. OFS
Today’s Gospel: Matthew 5:17-37 (Fulfillment of The Law / Teachings) “Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them. For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. "You have heard that it was said to the men of old, `You shall not kill; and whoever kills shall be liable to judgment.' But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother shall be liable to the council, and whoever says, `You fool!' shall be liable to the hell of fire. So if you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Make friends quickly with your accuser, while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison;  truly, I say to you, you will never get out till you have paid the last penny.
"You have heard that it was said, `You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body  be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole  body go into hell. "It was also said, `Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.' But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of unchastity, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
"Again you have heard that it was said to the men of old, `You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.' But I say to you, do not swear at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God, or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. Let what you say be simply `Yes' or `No'; anything more than this comes from evil.”
My Friends,
Powerful and to the point, that's how I describe today's gospel. Jesus don't pull no punches and He will not hide the truth, so He don't offend someone. Jesus is cool, He isn't politically correct. Being politically correct for the most part always puts our morals on the back shelf. We need to rather be "Spiritually Correct" or if you will, "Jesus Correct". That's all that matters, because when we are all standing in judgment for our actions, our words, and our philosophy; God alone will tell us what we have earned for all eternity. No politician will step in for you or me, and give some crazy off the wall explanation why killing an unborn baby is just fine. Nobody stands with you, except of cause our Lady. See if we are really in tune with our spiritual life and we are in relationship with our Lord Jesus and His Mother, many of these issues will never be issues. We won't allow ourselves to be misled. Today we are reflecting on Matthew 5:17-37 (Fulfillment of The Law / Teachings). Why is it that so many people think "laws" or "rules" are so negative? Isn't the laws and the rules that keep things orderly so that everyone is kept safe physically and spiritually and morally in our world? Check this out. In Psalm 119 there is much wisdom. Psalm 119 has 176 verses. Scan through it, there is so much wisdom shared here.

Psalm 119
1 Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
who walk according to the law of the LORD.
2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart—
3 they do no wrong
but follow his ways.
4 You have laid down precepts
that are to be fully obeyed.
9 How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
12 Praise be to you, LORD;
teach me your decrees.

We must remember who we are dealing with when it comes to sin. Satan has every intention and every intent to mislead us and send us straight to hell with him. Sin don't just arrive at the edge of our thoughts and then go full steam into our lives; rather we allow the thoughts in, and then little by little we justify our actions. There are so many things in society that allow things to happen. We can remember when no cursing was allowed on TV, period. Well then they come up with a list and all the others words were ok, then they allowed only certain networks to say them, then they started allowing certain words from that list. Well now they even allow anything after a certain hour on some networks. You see how little by little the sin is ok. This is the same way sin works in our lives, little by little we allow it and fluff it off.

As many of you know, "Fireproof" is one of my favorite movies. If you get a chance... buy it. You will be very happy you did, there are many very wonderful, very Godly messages throughout the entire movie. Today I'd like to share part of a conversation Caleb and his dad had. Interesting but very relevant to today's gospel. Complete reality check, and if you hear this script in the show, you'd understand what I'm saying.

FIREPROOF (excerpt of script)

Caleb
Why do l need his salvation?
What, am l gonna be thrown into hell?
For whatBecause l got divorced?

Caleb's Dad
No. Because you violated his standards.

Caleb
WhatThou shall not kill?
Dad, l help people. l am a good person

Caleb's Dad
According to you. But God doesn't judge by your standards.
-He uses his.

Caleb
-And what are his?

Caleb's Dad
Well, truth.

Caleb
-Okay.

Caleb's Dad
-Love.

Caleb
-l'm honest.

Caleb's Dad
-Faithfulness.

Caleb
l care about people. l am those things.

Caleb's Dad
Sometimes.
But have you loved God, the one who gave you life?
His standards are so high, he considers hatred to be murder...
...and lust to be adultery.

Caleb
Dad, what about all the good I’ve done?

Caleb's Dad
Son, saving someone from a fire does not make you right with God.
You've broken his commandments.
And one day, you'll answer to him for that
.

Pretty powerful exchange isn't it? Get the movie, if you are like me, you will watch it again and again.
