Chrissy’s 2nd Message In A Dream

Chrissy’s 2nd Message In A Dream

I know this is happening and it’s too real now. Last night I had another dream. This one was just Chrissy and me. All of a sudden I was on the grass area with a beautiful house next to a road. Everything looked so perfect. Then I saw Chrissy. She said, “Hey you, why are you just standing there, do you want to have some fun?” Now when Chrissy asked me that, I knew it wasn’t anything bad or disgraceful, I knew she meant fun. So I said, “Sure, what did you have in mind?” She said, “Here silly take this pumpkin and roll it down that area of grass.” I was confused but Chrissy was all smiles. So I agreed and said, “Sure” and I rolled it. She grabbed my forearm and said, “Turn around quick, don’t look that way.” I was very confused. All of  sudden an older lady came out saying, “Who keeps sending these pumpkins over here on my property.” And Chrissy was giggling and giggling it was contagious; soon we were both laughing. She said, “Jim, I have been doing this all day it has been so much fun, that lady is so funny.”

Then Chrissy said on a serious note,”Jim, would you meet me in town?” I didn’t understand, “I said let’s go together.” Chrissy said, “I can’t right now, but you meet me, there up on the boardwalk, the highest point, you know the spot.” So I said, “OK” Then I looked around, I said, “Hey I don’t even have my car, where’s yours?” She said, “We don’t need cars silly, just take one of the kids bicycles.” I thought, “Wow, that’s a great idea.” Then I looked at her and said, “How are you getting there?” She smiled and said, “Don’t you worry I will be there!” So I went peddling away and all of sudden I noticed countless amounts of people all walking in the same direction. One guy stopped me and said, “Hey buddy where did you get the bicycle?” I was slightly confused, “My wife’s suggestion, I’m going to meet her!” He yelled, “Great idea! Lucky you!” and I kept going, it seemed like it took forever. Occasionally I went off the trail to try to get to the boardwalk, but got sent back to main road. Eventually after what seemed like forever I came upon a very tall man who looked like he was watching over things. I asked, “Do you know the road that leads to the boardwalks highest point?” He turned and pointed. It was the next road that went up.

So I raced up this hill so fast, I was so excited I was going to see Chrissy and when I got up there, there she was, my baby-doll. I looked at her and said, “Chrissy, you look 20 years younger, you are so beautiful, what... what is going on, you look so incredible!” She was all smiles in a shy, beautiful, irresistible way. She looked at me open her arms and said, “Jim, I can breathe! I can breathe!... JIM, I CAN BREATHE!!”

I woke up at 5am crying! repeating her words. SHE CAN BREATHE! CHRISSY CAN BREATHE! I felt like a ton of bricks were lifted off my shoulders. I just looked up and said, “Can you really breathe my love?” and I closed my eyes full of tears.. It felt so wonderful receiving that message last night.

Chrissy’s Message In A Dream

Chrissy’s Message In A Dream

Last night I had a dream. Our whole family (Chrissy, me and the kids) went to some historic town. When we were in that town we went everywhere inside buildings, visited stadiums, it was an exciting fun adventure. Everyone was so happy. Then we came upon an ole ancient prison and for some reason I remember visiting this place as a kid. So, we went inside, and you were allowed to go in the cells to see what it was like. They even had solitary confinement, everyone was in awe at what we were seeing. It was a big place; the solitary confinement rooms were solid white with light coming through the ceiling. I thought, “I don’t remember that.”

All of a sudden, Chrissy asked me to lock her up in Solitary. I was like, “What? Why?” She said, “I want to know what it feels like.” I couldn’t comprehend this, I said, “Why would anyone want to know what that feels like? Do you want one of the kids with you?” She immediately said, “No Jim, just me alone.” I was concerned. I told Chrissy, “I remember what the guide told us last time when I was a kid, when a person was locked up in solitary you can’t hear them, and they can’t hear anything out here.”

Chrissy looked at me with her cute little smile and said, “Jim for just one minute, let’s see if that’s true.” I was like, “Why?” She was used to all my concerned questioned, I was always worried about her. So, she gave me her little speech. “Jim, if I can’t hear or see you guys and you guys can’t hear or see me, we all know where I am, and I know where all of you are. I am safely in there and you are all safely here. I don’t see any harm, just trust my instincts, this will be okay.” Chrissy said she was yelling to us and we said all of us her yelling to her; we all concluded that no one heard each other at all.

So, we did it and I woke up in tears at about 3am, not crying, but in tears, understanding that in some way I think Chrissy was sending me a message; that even though we couldn’t see or hear her, she was just fine. She was content in knowing that we all knew where we all were and that was okay.

Hope this all made sense. God Bless you and thank you for reading.

My Words Will Not Pass Away

BEADS OF JOY 11-25-16
“My Words Will Not Pass Away”
©2016 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,

Today’s Gospel:
Luke 21:29-33 (My Words Will Not Pass Away)
“And he told them a parable: "Look at the fig tree, and all the trees; as soon as they come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and know that the summer is already near. So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away till all has taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.”

Reflection:
Do you recognize Jesus when you see Him? Do you know the Lord does come to you every single day and that He does long for you? Jesus wants to lead all of us to Heaven. The question here is, do we want Him? Do we recognize the signs like Jesus says we should? I know I just said a whole lot so fast, but we need to be thinking about these things every single day of our life. Our preparation for God’s Kingdom must be a normal everyday part of lives. Our readiness must be even more ready than just “Oh yea I am ready.” it needs to be a very vibrant, excited ready!

Maybe I am just dramatic and way too much on the Charismatic side of my faith; but I believe we should all be living our life fully devoted to Jesus 24/7/365. Yes, yes, I know for the past 33 years I have been told that is impossible. But I am here to tell you that it is very possible! Flood your heart with Jesus Word and Love every day and you will be excited and bubbly all the time. When people ask you, “Why are you so happy?” you will be ready to share Jesus, after all they did ask! I wake up each day thinking, how can I serve my Lord today? The answer doesn’t have to be dramatic, the task doesn’t have to consume me, the labor doesn’t have to tire me, nor will this empty my pockets. But, in the end I will spend the day honoring and serving my Lord in some way.

Today and every day ahead I challenge you, to make Jesus you first and foremost important reason why you open your eyes each day. As you open your eyes, pray a simple prayer, “Thank you for this day Jesus, I love you Jesus.”. And if you are really wound up and excited before you even lift your head off the pillow; pray one Our Father and one Hail Mary, slowly and deliberately from the depths of your heart. Feel each word, feel your heart beat as you pray. It’s amazing how incredible alive prayer is when you are laying down. I can’t explain it in words, but day after day of this kind of very simple prayer is exciting as it reaches deep inside you. I am praying for all of you to find that wonderful joy I live each day. 33 years of Jesus and I still feel like I have just begun this incredible relationship today. Talk to you tomorrow.

Busy In The Lord

BEADS OF JOY 11-21-16
“Busy In The Lord”
©2016 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,
All activities and writings will be all caught up and back to normal this coming week, with the intentions to be before Thanksgiving. Because Thanksgiving weekend directly after our meal, I want to go away (reservations already made), nowhere special, just a 70-minute drive west of here, away from these four walls. Giving Chrissy and I a little peace and quiet. No plans, no intentions, just a quiet place for a couple of days. We haven't had a break or a getaway in years.

Between my new Retreat schedule (which is outstanding) and Rosary Making schedule (which is incredible) I barely have time to breathe. Which is a good thing, I love it! I've just been very busy in the Lord and I am barely at home, I am barely online, I am barely around. And even though that may sound like it's a lot, it really isn't, it's just ministry stuff and I really do love it. Daily Mass, time with old friends, making new friends, prayer, adoration, new churches, new communities. With the only purpose being: Spreading the Joy of Lord and Our Lady and The Rosary.

Next I intend to expand my involvement into Cursillo in March 2017 and beyond that will all depend on how I am feeling. I wear out constantly needing rest throughout my day. My left side remains extremely numb and it gives me my challenges even though my volunteer work doesn't involve any physical labor, thank God. I shall forge forward as best I can. I do take my time and sit a lot and explain and talk more than anything else I do. My Neurologist says this is all very good for me, I just need to be careful.

Thank God I have the Lord to keep me busy. For the past 18 months prior to October and November, being home I have been bored. Yes, I have been home for 20 months! I have tried to keep my mind busy, writing and even going to Mass and watching a ton of TV. But I needed to get much more busy in the Lord. Right now, I can handle this very light flow. My Neurologist don't think these nerves will ever heal. I pray one day I am well enough to return to work. Oh, how I miss that, but I know I can't handle that right now. But until then maybe all this activity is good therapy for me physically; instead of just sitting at home staring at the walls. God's Will shall be done.

I Give To The Poor

BEADS OF JOY 11-15-16
“I Give To The Poor”
©2016 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,

Today’s Gospel: Luke 19:1-10 (I Give To The Poor)
“He entered Jericho and was passing through. And there was a man named Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector, and rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not, on account of the crowd, because he was small of stature. So, he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, make haste and come down; for I must stay at your house today." So, he made haste and came down, and received him joyfully. And when they saw it they all murmured, "He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner." And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have defrauded any one of anything, I restore it fourfold." And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man came to seek and to save the lost."

Reflection:
A rather curious title for today’s blog, don’t you think? It’s not my own personal expression, nor is it something I am saying we must do. Rather it is simply an excerpt from today’s scripture, a true reflection of the words we read today. But in all honesty, it isn’t only something for Zacchaeus to be saying, but it should be for us as well. There was something exciting about Jesus to Zacchaeus that made him climb that sycamore tree to see Him; and when He came to his house, Zacchaeus changed dramatically. We’ll never fully know, or will we? We know how excited we individually feel about our love for our Lord; well, Zacchaeus had a change of heart by being in Jesus’ presence. He went from being a selfish, money hording, stealing tax collector; to being a man who wanted to make amends with everyone he offended and stole from. He even wanted to help the poor, how admirable.

There are many people in this world like Zacchaeus. Yes, there are many who are like him before and after his transformation. But who are we? If Jesus decided today to drop in to your home uninvited, how would you feel? Would you be ready for Him to see and know the things you/we do in the privacy of your/our home? And if so, who would be ready to give them up or make amends with those we may have offended or hurt by our actions? None of us will ever be perfect, by no means, we are all sinners. But, if we keep ourselves busy in the Lord, we will stay distracted in His work so that we won’t fall in trap of selfishness and greed and worldliness that so many fall into.

Staying busy in the Lord is far more easier than one might think. Simply get yourselves involved with daily scripture readings and a daily devotion (like the rosary) and you’d be surprised how consumed your time can become. Once you do that, pray for creativity and the joy of the Lord to help guide you. Then add daily Mass when you can, weekly Confession and weekly Adoration. Also, the greatest joy I found is going to a handful of different churches in your area, ones that are ten minutes away and ones that are even thirty minutes away. Through the years I have found this to be a most wonderful variety of peace in my life. I get to see different people in different communities, I get to travel to different places, I simply love this habit of mine. On my wall over my desk I have six churches I randomly go to. Yes, I still wish to add more. Spice is the variety of life, it is true, even in the spiritual realm. Stay busy in the Lord and use the drive time for prayer, singing spiritual songs, contemplation. I have found the drive time to be such a relaxing blessing. I am praying that you to find this wonderful peace in staying busy in the Lord. Talk to you tomorrow.

Healing of a Blind Beggar

BEADS OF JOY 11-14-16
“Healing of a Blind Beggar”
©2016 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,

Today’s Gospel: Luke 18:35-43 (Healing of a Blind Beggar)
“As he drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging; and hearing a multitude going by, he inquired what this meant. They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by." And he cried, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent; but he cried out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" And Jesus stopped, and commanded him to be brought to him; and when he came near, he asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" He said, "Lord, let me receive my sight." And Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God; and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.”

Reflection:
How determined are you to get Jesus’ attention? Even with so much opposition and fear amongst family and friends? Do you still persist regardless? In today’s gospel, Jesus reveals something important to us. If we are determined and persistent, even under opposition we can still reach out to Jesus and get His attention and a healing. Never give up hope! Never consider it to be too late to reach out to Jesus! It’s never too late and no matter what, our Lord will never abandon us. Sometimes it does take bold courage.

Have you ever encountered that one time in your life when the chips were down and you really needed our Lord? When you thought for sure that the whole world was against you? Many of us have been there. Many of may still be there. My sisters and brothers do not give up hope, simply reach out with faith and hope and Jesus will reach back and grab you. I understand how it feels when it feels like you are all completely alone. It is then that our Lord is truly with you. Do not allow the influences of the world around you to convince you there is no God. Faith and trust in Jesus and God’s Will, will help give you the strength to forge forward.

Sometimes our faith can be super strong and it feels like God just isn’t listening to us. And we ask, “Why Lord, what did I do, why are you ignoring me??” This is me now talking about my own experience. I found out through my own life that is was then that Jesus was closest to me and it was then that I needed to listen and trust, rather than speak. During these toughest of times I had to put all my faith and trust in God’s Will for my/our lives. And that was not easy to do. Even though I knew down deep in my heart that His Will shall be done and that He would indeed make all things new again, I admit I was still scared, but in a trusting way. I hope that makes sense. I never ever gave up my faith or my hope in Jesus. But I knew that I had stay bold and persistent in my faith and hope and love for Him; no matter what the outcome would be. Yes, we all seek a healing when we are suffering or a loved one is suffering; but in our faith and trust we must also accept that in His Will that may not be what is in store for us and we must accept that. The perfect example is ours: Chrissy’s terminal illness lingers for six years and she is surviving the worst of it so far; while I suffered two strokes and deal with side effects that have kept me out of work for more than twenty months now, with no sign of healing in sight. I must continue to be grateful and thankful and embrace God’s Will and believe me I do! Be strong and bold and persistent in your faith my sisters and brothers. Talk to you again tomorrow.

Signs of The End

BEADS OF JOY 11-13-16
“Signs of The End”
©2016 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,

Today’s Gospel: Luke 21:5-19 (Signs of The End)
“And as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with noble stones and offerings, he said, "As for these things which you see, the days will come when there shall not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down." And they asked him, "Teacher, when will this be, and what will be the sign when this is about to take place?" And he said, "Take heed that you are not led astray; for many will come in my name, saying, `I am he!' and, `The time is at hand!' Do not go after them. And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified; for this must first take place, but the end will not be at once." Then he said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.

But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake. This will be a time for you to bear testimony. Settle it therefore in your minds, not to meditate beforehand how to answer; for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and kinsmen and friends, and some of you they will put to death; you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives.”

Reflection:
Oh NO! Is this going to be all about gloom and doom? Is Rosary Man Jim going to share how the world will end? Will prophecy tell us on this day how to prepare for the end of the world? Is this the very blog that holds the secret? Well, first, calm down. LOL. I am not here to share a gloom and doom future with you; on the contrary I am here to share what we can do instead to live a joyous, happy, healthy life with Jesus at the center of our life. Some basic obvious things we all know, satan kills and destroys things and God restores and gives life to everything. So, with that said, the difference is obvious, then why would I waste any real time on the what kills and destroys.

The Gospel is the good news we need to embrace and share with the whole world. It is through the Gospel that we hear God’s Word, learn of His truth, His love and of our salvation through Jesus Christ. Jesus defeated death and sin through His death and resurrection and it is by that resurrection that we receive the abundant life of Christ. Embrace Jesus with all your heart, all your mind, with every single fiber of your being, your life will never be the same; you won’t be worried about end times, all you will be thinking about is… is the love Jesus has filled your heart with and how you might spend your life sharing it. Now breathe, that was a long sentence, but a complete thought. LOL.

I would say the best way to conquer the fears of end times; is to embrace God’s Will in your life and in all the circumstances and experiences we encounter through life. What is God’s Will you ask? Well, that is a personal question each of us can answer through prayer and through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Once you start to understand it, even if not fully, you will understand it enough to embrace it, not question it. Once your faith kicks in, you will embrace God’s Will like many have. My hopes, dreams and desires in this life is God’s Will for my life. Yes, there is a level of uncertainty, meaning it’s not all mapped out, line for line with dates and dollar signs on it. But that’s ok. What I mean by that is that, wherever my faith, through my love for Jesus takes me, I will go. If it brings me to Northern, California -I am there. If it brings me to Laredo, Texas -I am there. If it brings me to Grand Forks, Minnesota -I am there. Yes, even if it brings me to Barrow, Alaska -I am there. Even unto death -I am there. My point is no matter where Jesus leads me, if it be His Will I am there, happy, content and knowing that I am serving Him. I am praying for all of you. Talk to you tomorrow.

Persistent Prayer

BEADS OF JOY 11-12-16
“Persistent Prayer”
©2016 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,

Today’s Gospel: Luke 18:1-8 (Persistent Prayer)
“And he told them a parable, to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. He said, "In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor regarded man; and there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, `Vindicate me against my adversary.' For a while he refused; but afterward he said to himself, `Though I neither fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow bothers me, I will vindicate her, or she will wear me out by her continual coming.'" And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge says. And will not God vindicate his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will vindicate them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

Reflection:
Do you have the kind of faith that will never give up, never loses hope in our Lord? Do I? Does anyone? How strong and persistent is your faith? Are you willing to do what it takes to remain loyal and faithful and devout to our Lord under any and all circumstances? When trials and sufferings affect our lives do we still remain loyal and faithful to our Lord? Does our faith continue to remain strong even under hardships? That’s the main question, to answer, to ultimately dig into for here. Even under the most stressful, most burdensome of times do we remain persistent in our faith, never giving up on love for our Lord no matter what?

Some of us go through some horrific trials. Some of us personally suffer physically to a degree that would destroy anyone’s faith. Some of us watch our loved ones suffer and even die before our eyes; and to the weak of spirit, they question their faith. Our faith must remain strong and persistent in any and all circumstances. God’s Will is unknown in a written sense, but by the situations we experience we can see how our Lord builds our strength and character, even in the most difficult of times. Trust is a great place to start in our faith. Trusting in His Will for us could help us reinforce the “why” in our lives.

What a shame it is to waste this life and not spend our life focused on our Lord. We have been blessed and given the time to spend this life for His Glory. Our persistence in prayer and devotion must out-weigh anything. No everything! Jesus must come first in all things. Our life must be a sacrifice to Him for Him as His life was a sacrifice for us from Him. No one loves us like He does. Our devotion must be strong and without reservation. Jesus loves us without reservation. Let us never be discouraged by anything that this life throws at us. Inner strength and persistent faith make us stronger in the toughest times. I understand that, I can’t fully explain it, but I do understand it. No matter what these past 6+ years of stress and frustration and pain and suffering have been to our family and Chrissy and me; I persistently remain faithful and loyal in my faith, never turning my back on my faith or my Lord. I am praying for all of you. Talk to you tomorrow.

My Friends,

Today’s Gospel:Luke 17:26-37(The Days of The Son of Man)
“As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of man. They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise, as it was in the days of Lot -- they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom fire and sulphur rained from heaven and destroyed them all -- so will it be on the day when the Son of man is revealed. On that day, let him who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away; and likewise let him who is in the field not turn back. Remember Lot's wife. Whoever seeks to gain his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it. I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. There will be two women grinding together; one will be taken and the other left." And they said to him, "Where, Lord?" He said to them, "Where the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together."

Reflection:
One will be taken and the other left! WOW!! ATTENTION ALL READERS: This is not a Star Trek movie; this is for real. It’s not like “Beam me up Scotty!” Nope, eternity don’t work like that. I admit I don’t think you get the same Hollywood effects with the lights and sound. But, it does make you wonder about it though. After reading today’s gospel if you are not right with God, you just may start counting the people around every couple of minutes to see if anyone disappears, all of sudden?? OK, maybe you won’t, but it’s got to make you wonder, especially if you are not right with God. So, the best solution is the only solution and the only way to live; and this will solve the question of concern. Each of us are responsible for our own actions and choices when it comes to our own faith. So let’s buckle down and get serious.

God knows our hearts and He knows we love Him. So, let’s start living a life that reflects that exact thought. Yes, you know what I am about to say. Go to Mass as often as you possibly can (I attend many different parishes, that’s so much fun), go to confession often (monthly), start a daily devotion like the Rosary and make it your own, go to Adoration weekly; all these things show a dep love and respect for our Lord. Also, do all you can to spend each day in scripture, whether it is the daily gospel of a paragraph or a chapter or an entire book. We were at the Goodwill store yesterday. Did you know Bibles are selling for .99¢ OMG! But that’s ok, that leaves no excuse why we can’t have or can’t afford a Bible. I use to give Bibles away for free, to anyone who in conversation with me said they didn’t have one. I am starting to do that again. So, I bought all 5 of the Bibles the Goodwill store had. In the past my truck had a box of Bibles and a box of Rosaries. I am returning to those old habits of evangelizing. I love that!!

Lord Jesus, I place all my hopes and my dreams and my future in your hands. Today and every day Lord I ask that you guide me and lead me ever so much closer to You. I know I am not worthy in your sight. I know I am a sinner. I stand before you begging for your mercy and love, knowing that by your blood I am forgiven and loved by You always. Thank you Lord for everything, including the suffering and the pain, for it there that I felt closest to You and for that I am ever grateful. Glory and Honor and Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ… AMEN.”

That’s my own personal prayer that I wrote and that I pray each day. Please feel free to use it as your own or modify it to your life’s journey. Stay strong in the faith, talk to you tomorrow.

He Must Suffer Many Things

BEADS OF JOY 11-10-16
“He Must Suffer Many Things”
©2016 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,

Today’s Gospel:Luke 17:20-25(He Must Suffer Many Things)
“Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, he answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, `Behold, here it is!' or `There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you." And he said to the disciples, "The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see it. And they will say to you, `Behold, there!' or `Behold, here!' Do not go, do not follow them. For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of man be in his day. But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.”

Reflection:
With little or virtually no warning Jesus will come. While many can’t wait for that day to come; some of us want to enjoy the life our Lord has given us. Yes, we can still enjoy this life. Let us not be misunderstood, while we should desire to be with Jesus as a top priority; our hearts and our lives here on earth can also serve our Lord very well. There are many here who need to be saved and led to Jesus; while we can’t personally save anyone, we can do our best to plant the seeds of hope in Him and we can live a life as our example for them to witness. Spend time in prayer and in the Word asking Jesus and the Holy Spirit for help and guidance in leading you to those He wants you to minister to.

The Kingdom of God is truly in our midst as Jesus has said today. He has already died and risen in the hearts and lives of so many of us. We are His witnesses. Let us live a life that is pleasing to Him, just as Jesus has suffered and was rejected by many to gain much for us to have much, we too may have to suffer and be rejected also. We must be ready always and we must also be willing to suffer along with Jesus for our love of Him. There are still many around the world to this day, who have died merciless deaths simply because they would not deny Jesus. Would you be bold enough to stand strong in your faith, if a knife was held to your neck or a gun is pressed upon your skull; and would only be removed if you would deny Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

Personally I would much rather die than ever deny my faith and my love for my Lord. There is no reason to live my life in faith; if I am not willing to die sacrificially if I have to, for defending what I believe. Your faith is a fraud if you bail out and wimp out at the thought of death in defense of your faith. Jesus died so that we may live. Who are we to believe when it is convenient or safe to do so. Faith is not like a light switch. We can’t flip it on when we want and turn it off when we are too scared to tell anyone. We must trust that by keeping the light of Jesus on always, that in His sight we will be protected and secure to do His Will. Jesus knows what is in our hearts, He knows our fears. Simply trust in Him fully and live a life that is pleasing to Him and let the chips fall where they may. Some people will embrace you, some people will mock you, some may even be cruel to you, so be it. All is for His Glory. I pray that you have the courage to always be faithful and loyal and ready for our Lords return. My prayers and love for all of you continues daily. Talk to you tomorrow.

Benefits of Being Thankful

BEADS OF JOY 11-09-16
“Benefits of Being Thankful”
©2016 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,

Today’s Gospel: Luke 17:11-19 (Benefits of Being Thankful)
“On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us." When he saw them, he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then said Jesus, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" And he said to him, "Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well."

Reflection:
How often are you grateful? How often are you ungrateful when you know you should have been grateful? Ingratitude leads us to a lack of charity towards of others and pushes us into a more negative attitude of discontentment. Let us not live our lives in such a way, that leads us to be ungrateful. Rather let us live a life of complete gratitude and thankfulness. It is compassion that has empathy for those who suffer. But it is through having mercy that to the best of our ability that we try to help embrace their suffering as our own.

So, I challenge you, live a life with an attitude of gratitude. Doesn’t it always feel so wonderful to say, “Thank you!” or “I appreciate all you have done for me.” or “You have made my life so much better, thank you.” This gratitude isn’t only directed to others, which it should be; but most importantly it needs to be directed to Almighty God. He needs to know how much we love Him and appreciate all He has done for us, all the time, every single day if possible.

Cleansing of The Ten Lepers
by Cyril of Alexandria (376-444 AD)

"Why did [Jesus] not say, 'I will, be cleansed,' as he did in the case of another leper (Luke 5:13), instead of commanding them to show themselves to the priests? It was because the law gave directions to this effect to those who were delivered from leprosy (Leviticus 14:2). It commanded them to show themselves to the priests and to offer a sacrifice for their cleansing. He commanded them to go as being already healed so that they might bear witness to the priests, the rulers of the Jews and always envious of his glory. They testified that wonderfully and beyond their hope, they had been delivered from their misfortune by Christ's willing that they should be healed. He did not heal them first but sent them to the priests, because the priests knew the marks of leprosy and of its healing." (excerpt from COMMENTARY ON LUKE, HOMILIES 113-16)

Talk to you all tomorrow. I have a busy day ahead. Chrissy has a colonoscopy today and we were up till 3:00 am watching the election. Thank you all for all your prayers. America has a chance to be great again, to be generous again and to be wonderful for our children again. For the past eight years, the lights were getting dimmer and dimmer and if the wrong candidate was chosen last night, they would have been shut down. Praise Jesus for answering our prayers.

The Loyal Servant

BEADS OF JOY 11-08-16
“The Loyal Servant”
©2016 James Dacey, Jr. OFS

My Friends,

Today’s Gospel: Luke 17:7-10 (The Loyal Servant)
“Will any one of you, who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep, say to him when he has come in from the field, `Come at once and sit down at table'?  Will he not rather say to him, `Prepare supper for me, and gird yourself and serve me, till I eat and drink; and afterward you shall eat and drink'? Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? So, you also, when you have done all that is commanded you, say, `We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.'"

Reflection:
Are you compelled to give God your best? Is truth and honesty and your concern for others top priority? What are our top priorities, our duties as God’s servants? Here, the best way is to have Jesus tell us:

Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment.  The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” ~Matthew 22:36-40

Now that we have some clarity, it is so much easier to reflect. So, we must be ready to give God our best! Regardless of cost! That is what being a good servant is all about. We’re talking about Almighty God. This is our eternity and Jesus gave His very life to save ours. This is different than any other commitment you will ever make in your life. You will only have One Lord and Savior, only One God. The way you love your spouse or your children or your family; is nothing like the way you love and honor the Lord.

If we are to be the BEST Servants, what is the number one focus, that we should have every single day we open our eyes? “love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind” Ok, then let’s begin with that in mind. Each day we must, without excuse, spend time in prayer, worship and focus fully on Jesus. I know that sounds too easy. Well it can be! When you open your eyes, begin your day with prayer. Say something like, “Good Morning Lord, thank you for allowing me to see another day to serve you.” And then throughout your day, make it a practice to acknowledge God’s presence in all things. “Thank you Lord for seeing my children off to school safely.’ Or “Thank you Lord for choosing me, I know my fellow co-worker is having a difficult day, I’m glad they took some anger out on me instead of someone else, I understand, I’d never respond with anger, only love.” We must always be thankful, no matter what the situation or outcome is. Then add scripture, devotions, Mass, confession into your daily life as much as you can.

Then the second most important thing we must do as servants is what: “The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Others, must come first all the time. If you have never done this before it may take some practice, but that’s ok, God knows your heart. We are here to take care and look out for one another. God gave us each another, let us always place the needs of others before our own. A humble, selfless life is a great quality in a good servant of the Lord. I pray that you have a fantastic day. If you are an American, please get out and vote. Yes, your vote counts, just beware some voting machines automatically switch all choices to D after you make your final selection. Just be attentive. Please pray for America. We maybe on our final breath of existence and freedom. We need God’s mercy desperately today. Talk to you all tomorrow, hopefully as still a free country.
