They Will See Me

My Friends,

Today’s Gospel: Matthew 28:8-15 (The Resurrection)
So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy and ran to tell his disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and said, "Hail!" And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid; go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see me." While they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place. And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sum of money to the soldiers and said, "Tell people, `His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.' And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble." So, they took the money and did as they were directed; and this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.”

Reflection:
The Resurrection is certainly an absolutely amazing part of our faith, without it, we have no faith. Jesus told the disciples exactly what would happen to Him; He would be betrayed and then He would be killed and then He would rise from the dead in three days. Amazing, but true, no one else in the history of the world has ever done anything as magnificent and as incredible as this. Jesus has revealed Himself to us in the gift of faith that we have within our hearts for Him. And it is the Holy Spirit within us, that helps us to see and recognized all that Jesus is in our lives. Embrace Jesus fully, don’t hold back, give Him everything , all of you.

I hope and pray that you had a most incredible Lent and that you took full advantage of my blog and each of the 40 days of Challenges throughout Lent. I spent a couple of months last year laying and preparing and working on this year’s Lent. If didn’t go check it out, it will remain in my blog for you to reflect upon.

The Easter Alleluia  by St. Augustine
"Our thoughts in this present life should turn on the praise of God, because it is in praising God that we shall rejoice forever in the life to come; and no one can be ready for the next life unless he trains himself for it now. So, we praise God during our earthly life, and at the same time we make our petitions to him. Our praise is expressed with joy, our petitions with yearning. We have been promised something we do not yet possess, and because the promise was made by one who keeps his word, we trust him and are glad; but insofar as possession is delayed, we can only long and yearn for it. It is good for us to persevere in longing until we receive what was promised, and yearning is over; then praise alone will remain."

Pondering these thoughts today: Would I be prepared to meet Jesus directly after He rose from the tomb? Would I feel worthy before Him; knowing that it was my sins in the first place, that put Him up on the Cross? Interesting thought to consider, we know we are not worthy before God to begin with; but only through His death and resurrection, are we made whole. Does my life need more “cleaning” and more “accountability” or “more frequent confessions”, so that I can truly do my best to be more prepared to be with Him? I don’t know, this is just something to ponder about today. Might I suggest that we all become more accountable in our own personal spiritual journeys. Accountable to be more worthy before our Lord. Think about it and make that work for you in your life.
