My Friends,

This is my church: St Vincent de Paul Church; Dingmans, PA

Today’s Gospel: John 6:41-51 (The Bread of Life Discourse)
“The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, "I am the bread which came down from heaven." They said, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now say, `I have come down from heaven'?" Jesus answered them, "Do not murmur among yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, `And they shall all be taught by God.' Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me. Not that anyone has seen the Father except him who is from God; he has seen the Father. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh."

Reflection:
The Bread of Life. Sustains us as we make our journey toward Heaven. Let us consider in this reflection the simple nourishment of bread. It sustains us, it strengthens us, it helps us move forward, it fills our belly with contentment so that the hunger pangs quiet down. It is through the simple digestion of bread that we can take another step forward; knowing our body received the nourishment of a piece of bread. Simple yet very profound.

The Bread of Life. Sustains us and gives us strength to stand strong in what we believe. Never let anyone steer you away from your faith. I know we all have different levels of tolerance; but when it comes to believing in Jesus and being loyal to Him, we must never surrender that allegiance we have for Him to anyone else. Spending time with Jesus through Adoration and the Holy Mass gives us so much strength and confidence to be more solid in our faith. One day we will be united with Him, keep that in mind each day.

The Bread of Life. Sustains us in ways we cannot fully understand right now; but simply knowing that through the Eucharist we are strengthen, is enough. Go to Mass as often as you possibly can, that is the key connection we have with Jesus Christ while we are here now. Every time you go to Mass give Jesus your undivided attention and allow Him to consume you; while you are there to consume Him. If you can, be at Mass 15-30 minutes early. Find your seat and spend time thinking about how much you love Him and how much you will always love Him. That is a very special time for me when I go to Mass, on Sunday or any day.

Pondering these thoughts today: Well, you knew the question was coming: What do you expect to receive? When you come to Mass or to the altar what do you expect? A healing? Forgiveness? Comfort during difficult times? Or a place to find rest so that you can rejuvenate? Well the good news is that you can find all that and even more. Jesus, through the Eucharist strengthens us and enables us to be strong in our faith. Nothing else in this world can do for us what Jesus can do for us through the Eucharist. That is why going to Mass every single Sunday and Holy Day and as often as possible is so important. Much to think about my friends.

LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!
