My Friends,

Today’s Gospel: Luke 5:27-32 (The Transfiguration)
“After this he went out, and saw a tax collector, named Levi, sitting at the tax office; and he said to him, "Follow me." And he left everything, and rose and followed him. And Levi made him a great feast in his house; and there was a large company of tax collectors and others sitting at table with them. And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?" And Jesus answered them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick; I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

Reflection:
Well don’t just sit there, if you are a serious true follower of Jesus Christ; get off your behind and follow after Him. You do realize that you must forsake all and follow Jesus with a fervor and desire to honor and obey Him fully in all things. We can’t serve two or three or four masters when Jesus is our Lord and Savior; He alone is the only one we are to follow now. Yes, this is a hard teaching indeed. Are you ready for a life fully and completely devoted to Jesus Christ?

We are all sinners and we must do what we can to help one another make it to Heaven. For when we are standing in judgement before God, there is no one that can plead our case with us; except of cause our Lady. But in this life, no one here can join us. So, let us help one another along the way while we still can, as we all make this journey home.

There are many things to consider I guess if you are caught up in this world; but Praise Jesus if your heart and mind and spirit are fully devoted to Jesus Christ. Many can’t buy into the thought of living in this world and not being a success or partaker in its fruits. I say this, consider the life Jesus lived and died for. His example of selflessness, is the life we should set as a goal in this life. We can all do that in all different ways and at all different levels; all that doesn’t matter in detail it’s not a competition, what will matter is that we are focus on trying to do that in this life.

Pondering these thoughts today: Let’s face it, everything we possess in this life will be either given or taken by someone else, or it will be sold or given away. Sad, is that day we leave this life, at least for those so attached to this place. Recently my beloved wife Chrissy passed away. Going through her things has been difficult and most eye opening indeed. Here I look at a woman who loved her Lord, me and our children and what has her life become? A pile of boxes of her things! No that is not how we will let her memory and legacy be remembered. She was not caught up in these things, we know that. She always put others first. She never was selfish about anything. Our children summarized their mom like this, “She was the most unselfish person I ever known, she was stronger than I could ever be and she was giving to everyone when anyone needed anything, she never complained even while suffering and she always put us kids and dad first.” That my friends, is not a pile of boxes filled with her things, that is the legacy she has passed on.
