My Friends,
Today’s Gospel: Luke 2:41-52 (Finding In The Temple)
“Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover. And when he was twelve years old, they went up according to custom; and when the feast was ended, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His parents did not know it, but supposing him to be in the company they went a day's journey, and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintances; and when they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking him. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions; and all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. And when they saw him they were astonished; and his mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been looking for you anxiously." And he said to them, "How is it that you sought me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?" And they did not understand the saying which he spoke to them. And he went down with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man.”
Reflection:
Have you ever lost someone very close to you? Either in the midst of traveling or at an event or an amusement park; or has anyone close to you ever pass away unexpectedly. Some of us can’t really relate to that. When this happens, we tend to fell anxious and hopeless, feeling like there is nothing we can do to fix it, at least nothing we can do fix it, instantly. If it’s a lost child, friend, spouse; we frantically look and yell their name, constantly and everywhere we possibly think they may be. Can you image how frantic Mary and Joseph were, when they were looking for Jesus? We raised 5 kids over a 30-year span and thank God we only occasionally slightly lost sight of them. Whenever we would go out, Chrissy and I always agreed watching after the children’s whereabouts was our first priority. Let us always keep in prayer parents who lose sight of their children.
In today’s gospel, Jesus knew His calling, His purpose, He had to get to His Father’s house and begin the work His Father sent Him to do. Let us take the time to consider this. Do we know, and can we recognize God’s calling in our life? Consider making your own circle and putting Jesus in the center, and live your life keeping Him there.
The Boy Jesus at the Temple
Pondering these thoughts today: Today’s gospel is also the 5th Joyful Mystery...
The
Fifth Joyful Mystery is The Finding of
Jesus in the Temple. We must seek Him out and do His will. Even if while we
do so, it takes us out of the circle of security and familiar surroundings.
Sometimes in order for us to do God's will we must “Leave everything to find Him.” The Joyful Mysteries are indeed most
Joyous. I pray that you can find that "blessed
spot" in your life that in your service and obedience to God, you will
be blessed with an immeasurable amount of joy. Nothing in this world can give
us the same abundant joy that is found in God, His word, or His Rosary. Embrace
the rosary, allow that chain and those tiny beads to draw you ever so much
closer to Jesus.
LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!
Your brother in Christ Jesus
