Unclean Spirit Depart From Me

Beads of Joy 01-31-11

Unclean Spirit Depart From Me
©2011 James Dacey, Jr. SFO

Hello Everyone,

Let us look at a way Jesus wants to help free us. In today's gospel we will reflect on a man who was possessed by a demon. This demon had nothing but destruction in its plans for this man. Jesus asked the demon, "What is your name?", the demon responded, "My name is Legion; for we are many." Did you know that a "Legion" of demons, is one huge amount of demons in one place. A Legion is no less than an army of 6,000 demons. Today we are reading, Mark 5:1-20 (Jesus Heals the Gerasene Demoniac). How strong are you against the forces of evil inside you? You do know that the evil we can have inside us, don't necessarily have to be demons. We could have habits and desires that are immoral or sinful; and on these habits we may have many secrets and even a secret life. That is where I see we can reflect on today's gospel and maybe get a little bit of insight to help dismantle or discard this from our lives. This isn't going to be easy. But we must remember satan is deceitful and misleading, the true father of lies; this must be taken very seriously and it be consistent.

Sin makes us very shameful before God, and sadly, no matter how much we may hide or try to be secret with our sins, God knows all things. We very seriously need to keep that in mind, every single moment in our lives is known. Everything is recorded that we do, what we say for all ears to hear; even what which we say within our mind, that only our ears hear. God knows all things. Only through confession and repentance can we wash away our sins. We really need to be frequent visitors of that precious sacrament of penance. The cleaner and more pure we keep our lives and spirit before God the better our chances are to make it to Heaven. Today's reflection leads us to ponder thoughts about confession and removing that which offends God from our lives. For just a moment let us think about a few things we really need to do to make things right with God. Let us consider the very words we pray at the end of our confession:

Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee and I detest all my sins because of Thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace, to sin no more and avoid the near occasions of sin. Amen.

With that in mind let us try to keep a clean life. No one is prefect, no life is perfect. With that being said, we know that no one person is so pure before God, we are all guilty of sin, and sinning. So what can we do to better deal with this horrible challenge we all face each day. Maybe lying is our hang up, maybe anger is an issue we just can't figure out how to down play when in our mind and heart wonder; some people deal with personal pride only concerned with themselves and everyone else is last, including God. There are so many issues that can drag down our spirit before God, and that easily can keep us in a sinful state.

This world offers so many ways for us to be distracted and led astray. Do not give into any of it. Do not be tricked into thinking you are so strong and powerful against sin that you can easily ride the edge of it and not fall into the pit. Only by God's grace can we defeat sin, only by His love are we forgiven. You know your sins better than anybody, but here's something scary to know; satan knows our weaknesses, and he sits and waits patiently. He don't sleep, he don't eat, he don't leave us; he waits for us to make the slightest flinch towards a temptation, then he reels us in as fast as he can. He justifies our bad choices, excusing them and keeps our heart thinking, I can always ask God for forgiveness, (arrogant presumption) so it's ok to sin this one time. Do not be fooled into this. Stay far far away from sin. I once shared this story earlier last year with how far away should we stay from sin. Here is another version of that story.

There was a trucking business who just bought a whole fleet of brand new trucks. They were hiring drivers to go up this mountain road with its loads. At the interview they found two people that qualified best for the position; the company only had one final question to ask each of them before they made their choice. This was the question: How close to the edge will you drive our brand new trucks without destroying them? The first driver said, "I will try to stay as far away as I can, and I will try not to get any closer than a few feet, the further away the better." The second driver said,"Ah come one, I am experienced, I have been doing this for years, I can come with inches of the edge and never ever have a worry in the world." Who did the company hire? The first driver. Why? He stay furthest away from the danger of destroying that which the company valued so much. The second driver was reckless and willing to take the risk. So must we, stay as far away from the edge as we possibly can.

"Jesus, I trust in You."

Nativity - Prepare Yourself

Beads of Joy 01-30-11

Nativity - Prepare Yourself
©2011 James Dacey, Jr. SFO

Hello Everyone,

DECADE OF THOUGHT: "The Nativity - In your life and heart, have you prepared a place for Jesus; with the desire to serve ?"

What is the most important part of taking a journey? The preparation of cause, and the longer and more important the journey, the more critical the preparation is. Just as God prepared a place for His Son to be born, and our Blessed Mother and Joseph made sure they would be in a place safe for Jesus to be born; we to must be prepared. God also has prepared a place for us in His Kingdom. Preparation is a critical thing we must all take seriously, are you prepared? Are you ready for this journey here on earth? and in this journey are you preparing for where this all leads to, an eternity, somewhere? All this preparation talk is so important. Yesterday we went to see the movie, "The Rite". Very interesting movie about the true events of two priests dealing with exorcism. It brought up many questions from my two youngest sons, Travis and Charlie. We talked about how in the movie the younger priest who was skeptical and didn't even believe in God, simply didn't believe in the devil either. Eventually the devil pinned him at his neck embracing him telling the priest to believe in him (the devil). We talked about what the other priest told this young priest; you can't believe in the devil and evil without believing in God and good. Believing in one, forces you to believe in the other. Or your belief makes no sense, you are a liar. And simply not believing doesn't mean it don't exist. This talk with my sons led into us talking about our lives here on earth and how short the time really is.

I am so grateful that my kids listen to my "sermons" when I can. They wanted to learn and understand what this life was all about. It was such a blessing, I was thrilled seeing a 14 y/o and a 10 y/o, eyes wide open and hungry to understand. We talked about how this little tiny bit of 70-80 or even 90 years of life is but a tiny spec of time, in comparison to the length of time eternity is. Yet this tiny spec of time, the preparation period of our life, determines where we will spend our eternity. Once that was somewhat understood, they wanted to hear about Heaven and hell. I explained it to them in a very exciting story about Heaven and hell found in The Gospel of Luke, (The Rich Man and Lazarus) Luke 16:19-31. Their eyes were wide open, as I told the story, then I shared how in verse 26 it says, "And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us." I explained how this great chasm separated the two worlds of eternity and once you have decided by how you lived your life; which side you ended up on, you can't ever go to the other side. That's why your life here on earth, this preparation time is so critical for all of us.

How prepared are we in this life? Do we have a place in our hearts, even now that is prepared for Jesus to be with us, as we live our lives? Or are we so distracted and misled by this world? Are there so many irrelevant things going on in our lives that we can't think of anything but that pointless stuff and ourselves? Or are we lost in a world of pleasure, and stuff and the rewards that spoil here on earth, and that they have absolutely no significances in eternity, except keeping us away from Heaven? We really need to think about all these things. Yes college is important, yes paying our mortgage and going to work, and doing what you have to do to keep a roof over our head for our family is important. But how much more important is our eternity? How much more will the cost be, if we push aside the very thought of living a life pleasing to God, rather than for it to be all about ourselves? Those of us who haven't yet woke up with these thoughts: Wake Up !!!! Those of us who are awake and who are planning and preparing their path to Heaven in this life, help others along the way, show them, share with them your love for God and for them. Be bold in your faith, stand strong in Jesus' name, stop selfishly finding your way to God, and be charitable, take along your sisters and brothers as your forge towards Heaven. Remember in judgement we stand alone before God. Prepare yourself now.

This blog was intended to be straight to the core with it's message. Prepare yourself, that's what this is all about, someone needs to be yelling and screaming this on the roof-tops to everyone, every day. I fear so many souls will be lost, so many will so easily be misled by the spoils of a world, a world that don't know God and a world that don't even want to know God. Prepare yourselves, your families, your friends, your neighbors. Tell everyone about the love Jesus has for us, the price He has paid to save us. From your heart devote your life to serving God alone. It won't be easy, I will attest to that; and you will be the target of the evil one, I know that first hand. Satan will try to destroy, discourage and stop you. Stand strong, be bold, anything worth fighting for, is worth dying for. Never leave your post, once you have committed your life to our Lord, stand strong. In doing so know that He will never leave you or forsake you through all of your trials. Stand strong my sisters and brothers like you have never stood strong before. And remember to always pray, everyday, on your knees.. The Rosary is a wonderful way to begin.

Visitation - Assist Someone

Beads of Joy 01-28-11

Visitation - Assist Someone
©2011 James Dacey, Jr. SFO

Hello Everyone,

DECADE OF THOUGHT: "Visitation- Is God asking you to help or assist someone in your life; either friend or family member ?"

Our Lord never intended for us to walk to Him alone. We need to work together, no only in our prayers and emotional support, but also in all other aspects of our life. Our first ministry is our family, in our family we have been blessed with one another, for love, encouragement, support and to turn to when we are down the most. As a family, let us work on keeping our communication open at all times to one another. Our Blessed Mother shows us how important it was for her to be there with her cousin Elizabeth. In Mary's day a long journey like that wasn't a quick jump on a bus or a simple flight at the airport. It was a combination of on foot and on a donkey. The nights were cold and very dark and the days were long and probably very dry. There were no rest stops, bathrooms, or even restaurants. This journey was a journey of love. I don't think many people in today's world could have done this journey. We are spoiled and we tend to want more comfort than discomfort.

Sometimes helping others isn't always pleasant or fun; maybe its cleaning up after a mess I'd rather not describe that has to be cleaned up. Maybe it's an ill family member who desperately wants the love and presence of their family around them as they suffer. Yes that one tweaks a nerve, and I know from others who have shared with me, that I do not experience this alone. God is so good to all of us, let us try to be the best family member we possibly can be. If we are the parent, let us be the parent, every child would adore to have as their parent. If we are a child and or a sibling, let's do our best in that family position, to be unmatched as the best. These examples are not referring to dish cleaning, or housecleaning, rather this is all about comfort; just like our Blessed Mother comforted her cousin Elizabeth. What matters the most to us in this life? Come on really think about it, what matters?? Relationships !!! The ones we have, the ones we are born into, and the ones we create. Family is the center core, we can't change that or replace that.

Can anyone truly understand why we need each other? I'm not talking about the technical, physiological terms. I am talking about what goes on in our hearts when they ache and they hurt. What causing, the feelings of missing one another? Is it comfort, a look from the others eyes? What is it that breaks a heart, heals a heart, mends a heart? How do we know that we know that we love someone one? Does it happen in a day? a week? a month? a year? or many years? Who really knows, but how does it happen? We don't really know I guess if we are honest with that answer. But what I do know is when you have an established long time love for someone; you heart can break, it can hurt, and all of that can easily be fixed only by the one breaking it. Does all this make sense? We really need to be there for one another like our blessed mother was with her cousin.

Just as Mary shared Jesus with Elizabeth, we to must do all we can when we comfort others; that is to share Jesus with them. The sharing of Jesus basically, is sharing love, in its purest form, unlike anything else we can possibly share with anybody. Simply allow the Holy Spirit to guide your heart. Always talk lovingly to those you love and kind to those you don't. That's just good advise, and it's not mine, my dear long time friend and Spiritual Director Fr. Gerald Mullally always come true in my life, as man of that seeks only to share ways to keep the peace, and share God's love. A peace and love God wants us to share and spread around. May God richly bless and show you the way to His will and His intention in your life with those in your family and the friends you have been surrounded with. Simply trust Him with all of you heart and you will be so thrilled of the outcome.

"Jesus, I trust in You."

Annunciation - Changing You

Beads of Joy 01-27-11

Annunciation - Changing You
©2011 James Dacey, Jr. SFO

Hello Everyone,

DECADE OF THOUGHT: "Annunciation - Do you sense that God is going to ask something of you; something that can change you ?"

How has your life changed since Jesus has become such a significant part of it? The world we live in is not in tune with our Lord, His message, or His mom. Yes many billions of people around the world believe and yes countless pray, and many countless pray the rosary. But honestly, how many really sense what God is asking of you, something I think one needs to be tuned to. I hope this blog makes sense in such a way, that maybe, if you are not tuned to our Lord's channel, you will be. God has sent us His only Son for a purpose; to save us. It is our purpose in this life to live it for His glory. Once we do that fully and completely, our life becomes complete and fully satisfied with any want, need or desire. Nothing and no one can ever fill the void we all have, except Jesus. He is our purpose, our life, our reason to breathe.

We are all here for a very short period of time. Seventy or eighty or even ninety years is but a flicker of time in the whole essence of eternity. Yet this very little, very critically important spec of time determines the rest of our entire eternity. That thought alone is very insightful and very critical to really understand; if we can only grasp that thought and then live it, our choices and our goals would be different then they are now. Think about it, where does selfishness, and hatred and greed fit into God's plan? How can we justify a life that is selfishly all about ourselves?

My thoughts are we need to reeve up ourselves with excitement and Joy daily; along with my daily Rosary Devotion. Scripture does so much, in ways that really wind me up. Look at and please take the time to really meditate on these verses.

"For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to son-ship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—" Ephesian 1:4-5

"He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time," 2 Timothy 1:9

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

Grab hold of these scriptures and so many more like this and live life, like you have never done before. You will be so excited and wound up, you may be considered weird and to happy. I love it. God must be the absolute center of your every thought, and your trust in Him, must be so solid and so firm, without any doubt or question about His will. Even when we don't understand Him, we must be loyal, in knowing that His will is what is best for us, whether we understand it or not. Death and challenges and even "luck" if we call it that, (I don't believe in luck) are bad in our lives, nothing must be looked at negatively. God makes all things for good, in accord to His will.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

"Jesus, I trust in You."

The Rosary - The Rosary

Beads of Joy 01-26-11
The Rosary - The Rosary
©2011 James Dacey, Jr. SFO

Hello Everyone,

I really enjoy praying the Rosary and I really enjoy sharing it with everybody. I can and for the most part I do, talk about the Rosary every single day. I made a commitment back in 1983 with our Lord and His mom, that I would spend the entire rest of my life spreading the Joy and Love found in them there precious beads. I always, always, always have at a minimum, of one rosary always with me (the one I wear on my neck, I made it twenty-one years ago). Plus for the most part I have one extra one hidden in most of my jackets, my car, my work bag, most places have rosaries. I am always ready to pray and hopefully have a partner to pray with. Is this an addiction? Is it a medical issue? Is it a drug problem? LOL, just kidding, getting goofy here I guess with so much JOY inside me. What in the world is it? I can't fully explain it, and I admit that I will spend the rest of my life trying to explain this exciting JOY that I feel is sometimes bottled up inside me.

Just take a moment and think of about how truly magnificent the Rosary really is. It's twenty simple mysteries that span across our Lord's life; and we get to be with our Lady by our side for the journey. When I look at my Rosary beads I see, "scripture on a cord" I literally get so wrapped up in these wonderful prayers that I sometimes pray that the feeling I am having during my prayers never leaves me. But I will say that I do believe that that happens sometimes, actually alot of the times, especially when I am alone. I really think I am so not part of the world spiritually, that I do escape from time to time, sort of a min-vacation to our Lord villa. LOL. That's why I always say a twenty decade Rosary is easy most of the time; because you spiritually leave this place. An experience you would only desire to have again and again, once you have really experienced Jesus the way His mother shares Him with us.

Look at this:

The Joyful Mysteries - Focuses on our Lord's birth and childhood.

1. The Annunciation - The angel of God appears to Mary and tells her she is to be the Mother of God - humility.

2. The Visitation - Mary, on hearing of Elizabeth's own pregnancy goes to visit with Her cousin - charity.

3. The Birth of Our Lord - Away from home and with no where to stay Mary and Joseph welcome Jesus into the world - poverty.

4. The Presentation - Mary and Joseph present Jesus to His Heavenly Father in the temple 40 days after His Birth - obedience.

5. The Finding in the temple - After searching for three days Mary and Joseph find the 12 year old boy sitting among the learned doctors of the temple - piety.

The Mysteries of Light - All about our Lord's ministry...

1. The Baptism of Our Lord - As Christ descends into the waters the heavens open wide and the voice of the Father declares him the beloved Son, while the Spirit descends on him to invest him with the mission which he is to carry out.

2. The Wedding Feast at Cana - The first of the signs, given at Cana, is when Christ changes water into wine and opens the hearts of the disciples to faith, thanks to the intervention of Mary, the first among believers.

3. Jesus Proclaims the Kingdom of God - Jesus proclaims the coming of the Kingdom of God, calls to conversion and forgives the sins of all who draw near to him in humble trust, the inauguration of the ministry of mercy which He continues to exercise until the end of the world, particularly through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

4. The Transfiguration - During the Transfiguration the glory of the Godhead shines forth from the face of Christ as the Father commands the astonished Apostles to “listen to him” and to prepare to experience with Him the agony of the Passion, so as to come with Him to the joy of the Resurrection and a life transfigured by the Holy Spirit.

5. The Last Supper - At the Last Supper we see the the institution of the Eucharist, in which Christ offers his body and blood as food under the signs of bread and wine, and testifies “to the end” his love for humanity, for whose salvation he will offer himself in sacrifice.

The Sorrowful Mysteries - Now we focus on our Lord's suffering.

1. The Agony in the Garden - The thought of our sins and His impending, horrible death make Jesus sweat tears of blood - contrition.

2. The Scourging at the Pillar - Jesus is stripped of His clothing and dignity and is lashed repeatedly leaving His body a mass of bloody wounds - purity.

3. The Crowning of Thorns - Jesus is ridiculed for claiming Kingship when they place a crown of thorns on His head - courage.

4. The Carrying of the Cross - Jesus shoulders His own cross, carrying it and dragging it to Golgotha, our sins were the weight of that cross - patience.

5. The Crucifixion of Our Divine Lord - After three hours of agony, watched by His Beloved Mother, Jesus dies - self-denial.

The Glorious Mysteries - Time to celebrate through these mysteries.

1. The Resurrection - Jesus rises from the dead three days after His Crucifixion as He had said He would - faith.

2. The Ascension - 40 days after His Resurrection Jesus ascends into Heaven to sit at the right hand of His Father, there to judge the living and the dead at the end of the world - hope.

3. The Descent of The Holy Spirit - Jesus sends the Holy Spirit on His apostles and disciples in the form of fiery tongues - love.

4. The Assumption - Our Lady's soul returns to God and her glorified body is assumed into heaven - eternal happiness.

5. The Coronation - Mary is crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth, of Angels and Saints, to rule over our lives forever and into eternity - devotion to Mary.

It is so hard to contain the JOY of simply reading through these mysteries. I pray that whatever is inside me, in my heart, in my spirit, is also inside you; allow it to explode with Joy and excitement. Allow Jesus to fill you with so much eternal Joy that you literally can't contain it anymore, and you have to get out and start sharing all these mysteries publicly.

"Jesus My Lord, I fully trust in You."

Nothing Is Impossible With Jesus

Nothing Is Impossible With Jesus

Hello Everyone,

Today we will reflect on a most Joyous event; the conversion of Saul (St.Paul). Paul admits to being one of those who opposed and persecuted Christians. Today I really want us to see and read and learn (Paul's Story), we all have our own conversion story. Paul's is pretty exciting and scripture tells it, only like scripture can. Paul had a very radical change in his life when he encountered Jesus, how many of us have similar stories of near death experiences; either in body or spirit. Our stories, and our experiences are what helps draw others to look at their own lives; to maybe help them see how Jesus is at work with them. Sharing is a huge part of our walk spiritually, it allows us to relate to similar circumstances we share with that person; and it also gives us a much better understanding as to how they managed to draw closer to our Lord through it. Please I strongly encourage you to share your story with everybody. Write it out, and see how your testimony will travel around the globe and so many will come to Jesus because of it.

This is my story...
http://beads-of-joy-blog.blogspot.com/2010/01/my-story-1st-time-posted-here.html

Please take a moment and read this incredible account as Paul's shares it: Acts 22:3-16 (Paul Tells of His Conversion), followed by a reflection on the significances of St. Paul's conversion by Pope Benedict XVI.

Acts 22:3-16 - “I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city. I studied under Gamaliel and was thoroughly trained in the law of our ancestors. I was just as zealous for God as any of you are today. I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison, as the high priest and all the Council can themselves testify. I even obtained letters from them to their associates in Damascus, and went there to bring these people as prisoners to Jerusalem to be punished.
“About noon as I came near Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me. I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?’
“‘Who are you, Lord?’ I asked.
“ ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting,’ he replied. My companions saw the light, but they did not understand the voice of him who was speaking to me.
“‘What shall I do, Lord?’ I asked.
“ ‘Get up,’ the Lord said, ‘and go into Damascus. There you will be told all that you have been assigned to do.’ My companions led me by the hand into Damascus, because the brilliance of the light had blinded me.
“A man named Ananias came to see me. He was a devout observer of the law and highly respected by all the Jews living there. He stood beside me and said, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight!’ And at that very moment I was able to see him. “Then he said: ‘The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth. You will be his witness to all people of what you have seen and heard. And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name
.’

Pope Benedict XVI (Reflection)
"Paul's conversion matured in his encounter with the Risen Christ; it was this encounter that radically changed his life. What happened to him on the road to Damascus is what Jesus asks in today's Gospel: Saul is converted because, thanks to the divine light, "he has believed in the Gospel". In this consists his and our conversion: in believing in Jesus dead and risen and in opening to the illumination of his divine grace. In that moment Saul understood that his salvation did not depend on good works fulfilled according to the law, but on the fact that Jesus died also for him the persecutor and has risen. This truth by which every Christian life is enlightened thanks to Baptism completely overturns our way of life. To be converted means, also for each one of us, to believe that Jesus "has given himself for me", dying on the Cross (cf. Galatians 2: 20) and, risen, lives with me and in me. Entrusting myself to the power of his forgiveness, letting myself be taken by his hand, I can come out of the quicksands of pride and sin, of deceit and sadness, of selfishness and of every false security, to know and live the richness of his love."
(from address given on January 25, 2009 - ANGELUS)

Here is a link to that talk in St. Peter's Square.

As with the prodigal son who returned home to the open arms of his father, and St Paul who was converted and brought to his knees before Jesus; many of us have friends and relatives who maybe are against us or angry towards us, let us pray for their conversion and awakening. No matter what happens we must let them know that we love them, all the time, no matter what. For like St Paul who persecuted the followers of Jesus, he needed to be knocked off his feet and put to the ground, blinded. This rather dramatic way of getting his attention worked; I honestly don't believe Paul would have so easily responded to a quiet still voice in the night. Paul was a strong, aggressive, powerful man; he needed to be forcefully put in his place, and by doing so Paul listened to Jesus. When Jesus died for us, He also died for Paul who was (Saul) at the time, who was persecuting Christians. It doesn't matter who you are, Jesus loves you and died for you, for every single one of us. Please share your story.

But Whoever Blasphemes
©2011 James Dacey, Jr. SFO

Hello Everyone,

Inside your heart, and in your Spirit, whom do you cling to? Are you doubtful or hateful towards God? What's the matter you didn't get your prayer answered immediately or are you still waiting for that selfish ridiculous prayer request? We must never become dark and hateful towards the Holy Spirit which is of God; who is also a very significant part of who we are. Today's gospel is another interesting twist of interactions Jesus has with the scribes. These guys just straight out hate Jesus, so they must slander Him and take away any hope others may have in Him. Does that sound familiar in your own life? It can be because of success, happiness or just because things have been working out in your favor. But why is it then that, we seem to come across people who want to rain on our parade and be little a very happy time in our lives? I think it's the nature of the evil one, to step in and destroy. Today we are reflecting on Mark 3:22-30 (Jesus and Beelzebul). Light and Darkness, we must remain thankful that we do indeed know who the winner will be, but rather, who the winner already is. But with that being said, we must not fool ourselves about who is stronger then us and why. Satan alone can easily defeat us and destroy us, we know he does this every single day going after God's children. The only way he can not defeat us, is if we are clothed with Christ. It is in that allegiance Jesus, and in that allegiance alone that will protect us.

But Jesus says in verse 29, "but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin". Pretty harsh words I think. But there is a reason for that. We are not "never forgiven" it is in that blaspheme that we fully and completely leave and turn one hundred percent away from God. Basically the outright defiance against God that is spoken of here. If in your life you have been touched by the Spirit; and the grace of God has come upon you and your hardened heart returns you home to Him, it is in that that God will forgive. We must always remember no matter how much we are God's children and we serve Him alone; He is still Almighty God who has the ultimate power to do whatever He wills throughout the universe. That power and all that strength of being God must be respected, hating Him and being defiant to Him is only asking for eternal punishment. That is why we must remember our God is loving, merciful, caring, forgiving Lord. He only seeks to save us, to hold us, and bring us as close as He can to Himself. It is only the evil one who draws us away from Him.

We must always remember it was through our Lord's death, that we have been bought with a price and that price freed us. And it is through that love that our Lord has for us; that allows us to be son's and daughter's of a truly magnificent loving God. Then to further deepen His love for us, we have been filled with the love and wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit. That Holy Spirit within us, is of God; it is that indwelt Spirit that helps draw us to Him, and it keeps us on track to seek out our Lord. The wisdom behind the purpose and reason for the Holy Spirit is pure genius. By placing inside our hearts a Spirit that is of God, whose only desires it has is to reunite and be with God; and we by nature give in to God, so that if we allow Him to do His will through us, we to will go directly to Him by the Spirits prompting. Do you follow me? This can only have been done a truly loving, merciful Creator. The Spirit inside us is like a guide, as long as we live a life open to God's love and we truly love Him; the Spirit within us will only seek to lead us to Him. This is so exciting, I really hope I am making sense. I know what I am trying to say, I just hope it coming out that way in the words we have to share with.

I can get so mumble jumble in this language we call English. I sometimes feels as though we just don't have enough words, or should I say the exact, precise words to try and say somethings. We are limited in our vocabulary when it comes to God. But I think and I honestly believe, that that to is all part of God's plan. No human can ever fully understand or comprehend the mind and heart of God. God is infinite in all things, His presence, His love, His forgiveness, and we can go on and on. God does not live inside any sort of a box, meaning sort of like we do. Our days start and end, we have daily plans, and obligations, etc. God is all knowing, ever present everywhere after all He is the creator. And no time zone is restricted to Him, He can be in all places, all the time, throughout time. Our God is absolutely truly magnificent. That's is one of the most incredible and exciting aspects of loving Him that is so wonderful. Do you feel it inside your heart and Spirit? LOL. I do. Please allow the Holy Spirit to guide you home to be with Jesus. The Spirit only seeks to reunite with the Father. I pray that you have a fantastic, awesome, Godly day.

Jesus Began To Preach, Saying

Beads of Joy 01-23-11

Jesus Began To Preach, Saying
©2011 James Dacey, Jr. SFO

Hello Everyone,

Good Morning my friends. What an absolutely glorious, spectacular, beautiful day it is. You ask yourself, "What it is that is so special about today?" Why, it's Sunday of cause, that's what is so awesome about today. This is indeed the day the Lord has made, let us sing to the top of our lungs, showing how much we love and adore our Savior. Goofy me, is always here with all my weirdness and overflowing Joy, looking to share our Lord with you. Today's reflection is all about, today's gospel, which is Matthew 4:12-23 (Jesus Begins His Ministry and Jesus Calls His First Disciples). Now do you see where all this Joy is coming from? Scripture holds so much Joy and real freedom inside it, that one can not hold or contain the Joy received every time I read scripture, especially the gospels. I really encourage many of you who really want to be engulfed into Gods word to take up this one particular challenge, and this will help instill such a deep, sincere, endless feeling of Joy inside your heart. It will also help you feel that the gospels are more inside your heart, soul and mind. The Challenge: As this new year begins, take the time to "hand write" all the gospels (this can be done with all scripture) into a notebook. It's that simple. Do not use your computer. Talk about a life changing experience. Yes I have done this several times, you will really be emerged into our Lord's life by doing this. I encourage you to at least try this method with one chapter at a time.

Now looking at today's scripture, verse 17 says, "From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." I just love seeing our Lord's words. This verse immediately brings another verse to mind, and it goes like this, " “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” that's Mark 10:17. Even though the answer in Mark's gospel isn't directly the word for word answer of that of Matthew's gospel. The gist of the answer is with those words. Repent, it's all in that word. If like in Mark, Jesus said, "One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” The repentance must have been in this rich man's attitude and devotion to his wealth. So in selling all he had, and giving it to the poor, he was basically repenting and refocusing his life and his love and his attention to others and to Jesus, and away from himself. I hope this is making sense. Real true life repentance does change lives, and it has a wonderful rippling effect into the lives of those around us. We all need repentance, either weekly, or monthly. Whatever you feel led to. I know the church says, confession once a year, Fr. Larry Richards says, "Confession once a month is good for the soul." I can't help but to agree with that simple thought. Here's what's in The Catechism of The Catholic Church:

1457 "According to the Church's command, "after having attained the age of discretion, each of the faithful is bound by an obligation faithfully to confess serious sins at least once a year." Anyone who is aware of having committed a mortal sin must not receive Holy Communion, even if he experiences deep contrition, without having first received sacramental absolution, unless he has a grave reason for receiving Communion and there is no possibility of going to confession. Children must go to the sacrament of Penance before receiving Holy Communion for the first time."

1468 "The whole power of the sacrament of Penance consists in restoring us to God's grace and joining us with him in an intimate friendship." Reconciliation with God is thus the purpose and effect of this sacrament. For those who receive the sacrament of Penance with contrite heart and religious disposition, reconciliation "is usually followed by peace and serenity of conscience with strong spiritual consolation." Indeed the sacrament of Reconciliation with God brings about a true "spiritual resurrection," restoration of the dignity and blessings of the life of the children of God, of which the most precious is friendship with God."

Spending study and reading time in the Catechism is also another way I find to be very fulfilling in my spiritual walk; in that is really brings me closer to my Lord, His teachings and our faith. Just in today's reflection really honestly take the time to look through this link at only focuses on The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation. This small fraction of the catechism is so exciting and you learn so much, the scriptural references are refreshing and awesome to actually take the time to do as you read. You will be and you easily can be consumed by the excitement of all this once you get started. I know I do all the time.

Catechism of The Catholic Church: Part 2-Section 2-Chapter 2-Article 4

Through repentance God intends to change the way we think. It's really a transforming of our lives that not only are in His words that help us to change, but also in our admittance to our own sins. Simply allow God to work His will in your life, in a way that will ultimately change your life and the lives of those around you. I like John the Baptist and Jesus say to you, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." And in saying that I am pointing and directing you to Jesus, know that this is all about Him, always. The Holy Spirit will lead you, so place all of your trust in Him, and focus all of your energy and time to His will as best you can. The more you spend time in the scripture, and the more you spend time thinking about Jesus' very words, the more easily you will find yourself loving Him even more. And then the more you love Him, all the more you will be spending even more time with Him. To me 24/7/365 still isn't enough. I will be praying for all of you to find Jesus in your life through your repentance and reconciliation with Him.

"Jesus, I trust in You."

The Best Time To Pray

Beads of Joy 01-13-11

Best Time To Pray The Rosary
©2011 James Dacey, Jr. SFO

Hello Everyone,

Making time for prayer, now that is an interesting topic to talk about. And this is coming from a Christian man who has virtually no real spare time, and when I do, I really should be sleeping. But truth be known, I do spend a rather huge part of my day, in prayer, every single day. Some of you maybe thinking, "How? There's no way you could have all that spare time, with all that is on your plate?" Remarkably it is possible, it has become second nature to me, and it can be as easy for you as well. But then many of you are so right in the start of this answer, and got it correct from the start, "There can only be one time to pray the Rosary..." I say in response to that, "That one time is "all the time", throughout your entire day. In past blogs I have shared a daily method I use frequently, so that I can easily pray a full 20 decade Rosary everyday. Well today I want to also share yet another couple of ideas, on how I inevitable have the Rosary alive and prayed in my life every single day in all things. Prayer must be a constant. What is prayer? It is a loving living very real constant conversation with Almighty God. Sometimes we speak to Him through the saints, other times through those we love, and other times we go to Our Blessed Mother through the Rosary, to speak to Him. As long as we keep the conversation alive and constant, that in and of itself is a spectacular blessing.

Here's what I would like to recommend to you, a bunch of idea's on where and when you can and could fit the Rosary, either a decade, or a full Rosary, or the complete twenty decades, it's up to you. You can and will be creative when you realize all the time that you really can do this in the course of a day. Here's a simple thought, let's say you wake up for work, or school, or to help take care of your family before they do those things. How about simply waking up 20-30 minutes earlier, to pray a Rosary; or even more simply waking up 5-10 minutes earlier to pray a decade for your family that day. Another idea: Many of you schedule everything you do; kids activities, beauty parlor, doctor appointments, and so many other things, just look at your calendar on the refrigerator, lol. How about on a daily or even weekly basis, schedule in a Rosary, or a decade, something. Or even a moment at which point every single day; you bow your head for a moment and simply pray 1 Our Father and 1 Hail Mary for the prayers you have for your family and friends. I pray that these ideas are stirring up excitement inside your heart and soul, thinking of when you can pray.

I still have a few more thoughts to share, about when it is the best time to pray the Rosary. You see I live and breath the Rosary, no lie and no compliments. I say that because that sometimes I am sure and I know by private emails, that many can't understand how I do it. Long before there were Luminous Mysteries, I use to pick different stories and events in scripture, and in devotion to my Rosary, pray a decade for that event. It sort of developed into its own habit of praying decades, and I really like that. Here's another idea I believe will spin many ideas of your own off of. How about praying your Rosary; when you drive, while you are at work (to yourself, in your heart), while you are exercising, whenever you take a long walk. These ideas are virtually limitless, so many of us have personal down time that is private and in the midst of us doing other things. And we can easily pray a decade, or complete Rosary or even a full 20 decades. The creativity of this devotion is truly endless. And one last idea for now, how about praying your Rosary before you go to sleep at night, or a decade, or even simply 1 Our Father and 1 Hail Mary thanking God for seeing you through your day.

Today I pray that these ideas stirred your heart into some of your own ideas and ways, that you personally can increase your own personal time with our Lord and His Mother. If we all just take a moment, we can find so much to share to help each other to get closer to our Lord. The whole point of this life, is to prepare for the next one. If we waste it, how sad that will be. If I told you, we were going to leave for a spectacular journey and you need to get ready, wouldn't you want to know what you needed to do? Wouldn't you at least say, "Do I need this..?, Do I need that..?, Should I learn about this..?, or whatever." Most people for the most part would try their best to be ready for that spectacular journey. Our eternity is greater than any vacation, or place on earth. Our eternity will be in the presence of Almighty God, our Blessed Mother, all the saints, all the disciples. We will be surrounded by God's chosen people. I seriously believe, once we are in His presence, even all eternity won't be enough time. God love all of you, please try to seriously devote some time to some sort of prayer. Just trust in our Lord, He will lead you. Simply pray, "Jesus, I trust in You."

A Voice From Heaven Saying

Beads of Joy 01-09-11

A Voice From Heaven Saying
©2011 James Dacey, Jr. SFO

Hello Everyone,

Jesus' public life has officially just begun on this day. John the Baptist who technically, officially ends the old testament is really the one man God chose to begin the new testament. Today we reflect upon Matthew 3:13-17 (The Baptism of Jesus). It is John's baptism of Jesus that fulfilled all righteousness. This is certainly a blessed day to celebrate. And it was here that God spoke not only to Jesus, and to the crowd, but also to us, a voice from Heaven was saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased." We can also see how the combination of water and Spirit, bring about our cleansing from the old to the new, of who we are now in Jesus. As the old testament comes to a close what was to begin Jesus' public life into the new testament; so to do our lives close and end our old ways of what was, so that we are cleansed in our new ways of life in the Spirit. Jesus by example shows us how to begin again, begin a new, start over right in God's sight, doing the will of the Father.

We must humble ourselves before our Lord, with an open heart and open mind to be like Jesus; in the sense that we to need cleansing to begin again, in His sight and before the world. God has a plan for each of us, just as He had and still has for Jesus. I say, don't care what other people think about, don't ever care about what other people say, about you. Only God will judge our actions, our intentions, our hearts and our souls; He knows why we say and do the things we do. Our hearts must be aligned with His will, then our Spirit will help lead us in the direction we must go. On this very day when Jesus was baptized a new to begin; He was also baptized a new to die for all our sins. As in Jesus' purpose and will to do God's will, God has a plan for all of us and a will that we must seek out and follow. This is why we must not bog now our lives with the frivolous meaningless crap this world is so full of. LOL, sorry I didn't realize that came out like that, but that is actually exactly what I was trying to say. Maybe not exactly like that, but it was meant to mean that.

Like our Lord's heart was open to fulfill God's will at His baptism, and the Heaven's were open to Him and the Spirit came down upon Him; we must do the same. It's all been laid out for us to follow. Open your hearts and don't allow anyone or anything to distract you from moving forward in your cleansing. The only way we can change, is through God's love and cleansing of our Spirit; and in doing so our Spirit will come alive, and won't be able to shut up, all you will want to do is share Jesus with everybody. I will be the first to attest that once the fire for Jesus is lite inside you and you openly, willingly, freely allow Jesus to run free inside; you will not want to waste any of your time with the things of this world. Take possession of His love, His promises, His forgiveness, His blessings, and then grab His gospel and then embed it into your heart, and then live it each day fulfilling it and sharing it with everyone.

Today let us ask our Lord to open our hearts and lives, to His will. Let us have Jesus rule our lives, bringing to life our Spirit within, which will not only be thrilled about God's will, but will also help us see and understand God's will. A new beginning is what today is all about. Wipe the slate clean and begin again, God loves a clean blackboard, so that He can write His gospel, His word on the hearts and minds of those who love Him.

"Jesus, I trust in You."

Our Cards On The Table

Our Cards On The Table
©2011 James Dacey, Jr. SFO

Hello Everyone,

In all fairness in response to many private messages and wall comments. Yes our family is under a tremendous amount of stress, there is no doubt how true that really is for us. I honestly feel like our family is under spiritual attack, even though we have many little miracles to share, overall, our challenges are colossal and massive individually. When I am in distress, it's the human part of me that feels the grip of it all in my life. My faith can withstand death itself, but when family members are suffering its difficult. I won't ever flex or pull away from my belief or faith in my Lord, ever. He is my secret strength, He is my rock. He truly is the only way we as a family have come this far through all these calamities. I thank all of you for your unceasing love and desire to pray for us, as we pray for so many of you. We are spiritual family, thank you Debra McCullar for bringing up that very special point; that is who we all really are. And as a spiritual family, our main focus, our main concern is our spiritual welfare. I am so grateful know so many of you, either in our prayer time, sometimes chat time, or in passing in sharing prayers for one another. God has been so good to us as a community, let us celebrate His love for us, by only further loving Him.

Just to lightly enlighten the depths of things. Our cards on the table, thought. Here is a quick review of the many crosses we are bearing as a family: 1. First and foremost my darling wife Chrissy has a very severe case of lung cancer which was diagnosed in May, since then it has come down 30% in size, but still very massive in size, her emphysema has worsened and she is now suffering a fungal virus that has stopped all cancer treatments. She has 2 aggressive cancer cells in her lung, which the doctor says he fears is growing while the fungal virus is being dealt with, they can't move forward till the virus is gone. 2. Our son Travis (14 y/o) has something going on with his heart, his resting heart rate on average is in the 120's, even from just waking up. There is about eight different kinds of issues that he could have, a stress test is all that is left to then be able to determine what it is he has, he could need a valve, a vein could be collapsed, or medication may fix it, but we (including the doctor) at this point have no idea yet. 3. My insurance at work has changed, we now have a high deductible policy, meaning that the first $10,500, must be paid out of pocket before we can only pay 20% on everything after that. That alone is huge stress.. 4. My work hours and work security is waving in the breeze. 5. Our home is in question due to my dear long time (20+ year friendship) brother in the Lord has passed away. His home belongs to an estate. 6. Our daughter Sarah is undergoing some severe emotional challenges seeing her mom suffer so much, so she isn't around as much as we so need her to be. She is the only other adult in our home to help.

Wow. I am out of breath writing all that and I was typing. Those are just the highlights, there are countless little things spewed throughout each of them. We are blessed with a wonderful bond together, we do love our Lord as a family, we are fighters and we will never retreat. So does that give you a much better, somewhat clearer image of the extent of things? We will be fine, whatever ever God's will in all these things, so be it, we accept that. We of cause want only the best, but we don't fully know all the details of God's plan and purpose in our lives, so we let go of the wheel and allow Him to do His will.

Thank you everyone, you may or may not know how much your prayers, kind comforting words and gifts, notes, cards, everything, has helped us through this far. Your encouragement has made this an easier lighter load for us to carry. Praise Jesus for bringing all of us together top worship, praise and love Him together.

"Jesus, I trust in You."

What Is Freedom Really?

What Is Freedom Really?
©2011 James Dacey, Jr. SFO

Hello Everyone,

When freedom comes before responsibility, compassion and love; is it still freedom? I wonder what freedom is really all about, being free of being free from other things, or from being around certain people. Or does freedom allow you by it's definition to do whatever you want to do, thinking there is no price to pay. Is it your free choice to do these things. I ponder these thoughts this morning, wondering, maybe I to have forgotten what the real meaning of freedom is. I am simply reflecting here, I would only imagine, but being 46 years old I know that the freedoms I have requires me to be responsible, sensible, and morally straight. Even though I am free my compassion and love for my family and for others must not be shelved and forgotten. Also in my freedom, selfishness finds no place for if I am selfish I place a wall around my own freedom to love others before myself. So then what really is freedom?

Can it be the freedom of drinking water instead of soda? Can it be the freedom to place strangers before your own family? Can it be the freedom to hurt others? Can it be an excuse to do things that only destroy your relationship with God? Can my own freedom actually in the long run, be the very thing that takes away my freedom? There is much insight to that last thought. Freedom by it's very nature, can either make the wind blow free through your hair as you look out into the ocean; or it can place you behind bars. I guess freedom can be defined as an opportunity to do what you so desire, provided you are responsible, compassionate and loving in the choices you ultimately, freely make.

I pray that this little reflection opens your own thoughts about what freedom really is in your own life.

Freedom ??

Am I free to really do what I want?
Does that mean others are of no concern,
Or are my freedoms governed by rules
If I don't follow --- I will be burned.

I ponder these thoughts on this day
A day that can change or even destroy,
Most of us know how this feels
To love and adore your little girl or boy.

So in my prayers I beg for guidance
May the Holy Spirit lead the way,
And may the hearts of today's young people
Avoid the regrets they can make each day.

I end in a prayer we all know
For God have given all of us this day a new,
So bow your heads and pray this prayer
"Jesus my Lord, I trust in You."

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to yet another fantastic year, a year that will be fully 100% devoted to our dear Lord. And we will rejoice and praise and celebrate His love, with Mary (Our Dear Blessed Mother) as we pray the Rosary deepening our love for Him. Today I am going to do like I use to always do on the first of the month; and that is post the entire months "Marian Feasts" for the month. So many I have never heard of, and so many more for us to look into. It's very interesting, but it further deepens our love for our Lady knowing how involved her presence is known throughout the world and throughout time. It's interesting and fun, I will also connect many links to further your own study of these wonderful Marian Celebrations.
