My Friends,

Today’s Gospel: Luke 12:32-48 (Parable of The Servants)
“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give alms; provide yourselves with purses that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

"Let your loins be girded and your lamps burning, and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the marriage feast, so that they may open to him at once when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes; truly, I say to you, he will gird himself and have them sit at table, and he will come and serve them. If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those servants! But know this, that if the householder had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have left his house to be broken into. You also must be ready; for the Son of man is coming at an unexpected hour."

Peter said, "Lord, are you telling this parable for us or for all?" And the Lord said, "Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes will find so doing. Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. But if that servant says to himself, `My master is delayed in coming,' and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink and get drunk, the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will punish him, and put him with the unfaithful. And that servant who knew his master's will, but did not make ready or act according to his will, shall receive a severe beating. But he who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, shall receive a light beating. Every one to whom much is given, of him will much be required; and of him to whom men commit much they will demand the more.”

Reflection:
Today’s parable is all about being prepared for Jesus’ return. Are you busy serving others in preparation for the Divine Kingdom? In other words, are being the faithful servant of the Lord being watchful at all times; helping direct others in prayer and the things of God? Or are you like the unfaithful servant of the Lord leading His children further and further away from Him through the pleasures of this world? In many ways God’s ways are completely opposite of the worlds ways; that is why so many so easily fall into the trap of being so preoccupied in this life.

We MUST spend whatever time God has given us and use that time to prepare for His coming/our leaving this life. Do you hunger for Jesus in your life? Do you spend hours each week in the scriptures and prayer and even time weekly at adoration and still have this hunger for Him that you can’t explain? That is awesome! That is the kind of hunger you want, never being satisfied with only a little of Jesus or only an hour a week at Mass; but rather have a life totally and completely consumed by Him and still want more. I have spent 33 years of my life consumed by Jesus and I feel like I have just got started. If Jesus knocked on your door today and said, “Let’s Go!” Would you be eager and ready? I would be ecstatic beyond my wildest dreams.

Jesus wants us all ready and eager to receive Him. No matter what the hour or day is. Think about it: What is the greatest, most absolute, most incredible, treasure you could ever receive? How about this: To be with Jesus in Heaven for all eternity! No treasure on this earth; no experience in this life; no amount of money no matter how many zero’s will ever compete with eternity in Heaven with our Lord! Jesus’ gift to us is absolutely priceless (we can’t buy it) it is filled with an overabundance of joy and it has eternal security that has no boundaries to always protect us. So open your heart and your life to Jesus and allow His love to consume all of you. And tell others of this Joy you have.

LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!
