My Friends,

Today’s Gospel:
John 13:16-20 (Washing of The Disciples Feet)
“Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. I am not speaking of you all; I know whom I have chosen; it is that the scripture may be fulfilled, `He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.' I tell you this now, before it takes place, that when it does take place you may believe that I am he. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives any one whom I send receives me; and he who receives me receives him who sent me."

Reflection:
The world is changing and not for the better, but that’s ok. We have Jesus! Wait is that a good thing or a liability? In today’s world, many people around the world hate anyone who loves and follows Jesus. Are you still going to follow Jesus now? Are you strong enough to be hated, humiliated and even spit upon? Yes, Jesus paid the price, but for many the price will be paid by simply following after Jesus.

Be strong my sisters and brothers, do not let the influence of hatred cause you to wimp out and fall into the pit with these people. Hold strong to God’s Word, your bible; learn it, read it, embrace it and cherish the very fact that you have possession of God’s eternal everlasting Word. Beyond that, go to Mass as often as you possibly can to build even more strength and courage. Nothing in the life or on this planet should come between you and your love for our Lord. Nothing!!

"O what precious moments these are. It is a happiness that the Lord gives me to relish almost always in moments of affliction. At these moments, more than ever, when the whole world troubles and weighs on me, I desire nothing other than to love and to suffer. Yes, my father, even in the midst of so much suffering I am happy because it seems as if my heart is beating with Jesus' heart." ~ St. Pio of Pietrelcina, O.F.M

"We love only to the degree that we are willing to suffer." ~Fr. John Hardon, S.J.

“Anyone who wants to be a true Christian […] must mortify his flesh for no other reason than devotion to Jesus, for love of us, mortified His entire body on the cross.” ~ St. Pio of Pietrelcina, O.F.M

Pondering these thoughts today: Ok, everyone who can’t swim, out of the pool. The water is going to get very very deep and there won’t be any mercy for those who can’t swim and no life preserves will be thrown out. What in the world am I talking about? Suffering awaits many who follow Jesus. You don’t have to believe me, read the news around the world Catholics/Christians are being killed every single day; simple because they won’t deny their faith, they are standing strong for their love for our Lord, even unto death. These are our saints of today. Pray that you too have the courage.

LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!
