My Friends,
Today’s
Gospel: Luke 10:1-12, 17-20 (Mission of The 72)
“After this the Lord appointed seventy [two] others, and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to come. And he said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and salute no one on the road. Whatever house you enter, first say, `Peace be to this house!' And if a son of peace is there, your peace shall rest upon him; but if not, it shall return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages; do not go from house to house. Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you; heal the sick in it and say to them, `The kingdom of God has come near to you.' But whenever you enter a town and they do not receive you, go into its streets and say, `Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off against you; nevertheless, know this, that the kingdom of God has come near.' I tell you, it shall be more tolerable on that day for Sodom than for that town.”

“The seventy [two] returned with
joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!" And
he said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I
have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the
power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in
this, that the spirits are subject to you; but rejoice that your names are
written in heaven."
Reflection:
Our Lord has shared His word with us, so that we to may speak boldly to others and share with them our faith like the seventy-two did. Are you living a life that is not only an example of deed -but also in word from your lips, that your life is a true witness to the Gospel? All things being equal (myself included) God knows our hearts, our thoughts, our intentions, even our schemes and ultimatums with why we do what we do and say what we say. YES... We have free will, but with that said, God’s presence in our lives -is constant. We decide how we will live our lives, but in the end it is God who will decide how we will spend eternity living our lives. To include Him NOW in our lives, means we desire to include Him always.

No matter what circumstances you
have faced know this: God will always assure us Victory Through Jesus Christ. Yes,
sometimes life really truly sucks! I can give personal testimony to that. Yes,
sometimes life can be so depressing and nothing at all can seem good or
positive and there is no glimmer of light! I can give personal testimony to
that. Yes, sometimes there is so much negative news on a daily basis there is
no way you can possibly see the positive in any way! I can give personal
testimony to that. Yes, sometimes those closest to you forget you, ignore you, discard
you, want nothing to do with you when you are in the slums of poverty, hunger
and illness!! I can give personal testimony to that.
We are certainly lambs in the
midst of wolves and sometimes there is no exestuation about that. Jesus is very
clear that we are in a place that we are not welcome. But rest assure my
sisters and brothers we are safe in Jesus. Jesus wants us to be fully dependent
upon Him alone and not upon ourselves. Jesus is very clear that nothing shall
harm us, for if we stay focused on Heaven and not on ourselves… We shall
Rejoice !!! We must live a life free of greed and pre-occupation with ourselves
(pride) and our own selfish interests and possessions. Jesus must be the absolute
center of our life always.
Pray this simple prayer: Jesus I Trust In You
LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!
Your brother in Christ Jesus
