My Friends,
Today’s
Gospel: Matthew 13:44-46 (Sold All He Had)
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.”
Reflection:
Do you have a very special place
in your heart where you keep the Lord tucked away safely? Is Jesus your
treasure? And would you sell all you had in order to have Him, if that’s what
it took to have Jesus in your life? Today’s gospel leaves us wondering why
would anyone sell everything they have to buy a field or a pearl? I guess the
simplest answer is that there must some great value, enormous value in possessing
it.
The Kingdom of God is without a
doubt the Greatest Treasure of all. Let us spend our lives seeking it, sharing
it and looking forward to spending eternity in it. And I see Jesus as the Priceless Pearl. Our
lives need to be consumed by our faith and our love for God. He alone should
dominate our every thought, our every desire, our every objective every day.
I think you will enjoy this
scripture, it focuses completely on where our treasures are. Matthew 6:19-24 (Treasures in Heaven)
“Do
not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin
destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves
treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where
thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart
will be also.
“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!
