My Friends,

Today’s Gospel: Luke 12:1-7 (Nothing Is Covered Up)
“In the meantime, when so many thousands of the multitude had gathered together that they trod upon one another, he began to say to his disciples first, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. Therefore, whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. "I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear him! Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.”

Reflection:
Who are the “hypocrites” of our time? No, I am not answering that. LOL. You all know who they are. Hypocrites lie and pretend and make believe they are in agreement with one thing; while telling someone else they are in agreement with something completely opposite, hypocrites are both men and women. It is a hypocrite who thrives on the chance to change their masks whenever they please, thinking how wonderfully skillful and incredibly ingenious they are. Hypocrites tend to be insincere and very phony. Most people can spot a hypocrite when they speak, most know the double life they are living; we must pray for them and even more for those we can’t spot so easily, for they deceive and mislead many.

The Pharisees misled many, they thought they were so close to God and so perfect in His sight; yet they mislead and mistreated many. Our faith demands an honest upright life. We must be who we say we are. We must be who we portray ourselves to be. Many rely on our hearts to be close to our Lord; as we help them on their journey to Jesus. Honesty is always the best policy in all cases. There is no acceptable reason to lie to or mislead anyone. Jesus says, “whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.” This is far worse than having someone spy on you with a secret video or microphone. All our secrets -all our lies -all our cruel mean words, plans, ideas, destructive intentions that have destroyed others will be on display for all to see one day. Everyone will know, we will not be able to deny the hypocrite we have become.

But fear not my sisters and brothers there is a way to cleanse your Spirit and keep your life pure in God’s sight. First of all, live a healthy God Fearing life. Fearing God does not mean you are afraid of Him; it simply means respect and reverence for God. It is a healthy fear, wanting to do good in God’s eye. You can easily find it throughout scripture, here is one verse that says a lot. “
Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade others. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience.” ~2 Corinthians 5:11

Here is another my sisters and brothers: Go to Confession often and be humble and with an open heart; is truly one of the best ways to keep your Spirit clean before the Lord. Don’t hold anything back, open up and let it all out; make sure you prepare yourself well, before you go to confession and make sure you are sincere with your intentions. “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” ~James 5:16 Jesus knows our hearts, He knows the intentions of our hearts, the real reason why we are asking for forgiveness for our sins. Be sincere and Jesus will forgive you. Go often and your Spirit and your life will constantly be cleansed clean in His sight. Love you guys always, talk to again tomorrow.

FRIDAY’S
I share this meditation I wrote back in 2010. Here I share my own personal insight and experience, as I journey with our Lady from station to station.

Many Franciscan groups around the world use this for their own group gathering while they meditate the Stations with our Lady. http://beads-of-joy-blog.blogspot.com/2010/03/marys-way-of-cross.html It is unique and emotionally very moving as you move from station to station… From my heart to yours.
