My Friends,

Today’s Gospel:
Mark 8:14-21 (The Leaven of The Pharisees)
“Now they had forgotten to bring bread; and they had only one loaf with them in the boat. And he cautioned them, saying, "Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod." And they discussed it with one another, saying, "We have no bread." And being aware of it, Jesus said to them, "Why do you discuss the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear? And do you not remember? When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" They said to him, "Twelve." "And the seven for the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?" And they said to him, "Seven." And he said to them, "Do you not yet understand?"

Reflection:
We must pray in confidence every single day, “Give us this day our daily bread,” but before we even think of that, we must be pray. And today’s thought is: Daily Prayer. I’m not a teacher or someone who will give you a piece of chalk and have you write, “I must pray every day” on the blackboard 5,000 times. Oh no?, did I just date myself. Do they even still use blackboards. That’s too funny. I haven’t seen the inside of a classroom in a long time, yeah I guess that’s obvious. While Chrissy was ill we did all of Charlie and Travis’ teacher conferences over the phone and online; all that activity at night, through the school was too much for Chrissy, we tried it only once way back while she was sick.

So, where were we, you thought I forgot, nope I got notes. LOL. See, talking about prayer can be fun. Praying can be done in so many ways, it’s not always on our knees next to our bed or before the cross. Sometimes prayer can be in your car, on a trip or on your way to work and the words used yelling at the cars around you don’t count. You know what I am talking about. Jesus only wants us to use His name in a reverent, positive, loving way. Sometimes prayer is in your kitchen preparing meals for your loved ones while you cook. They can be chatting waiting for you, while you are praying in your heart; asking for peace and love and all the things you know they need. Then when you sit down together, you pray together before your meal. See, there are many ways to pray every day.

I personally see multiple times that maybe odd to others, that I take advantage of prayer time in my life. Chrissy and I talked about this more than 30 years ago and we agreed upon it being a great time to do this. I never explain this to anyone in detail, even though I have touched on the topic. But then today’s focus is daily prayer, so I am really thinking about it today. Well, I’ll get to the point. I pray when I wash dishes (WHAT? You wash dishes, like with soap and water and your hands, yuck!) LOL! Yes, I have a dishwasher, we pretty much have always had a dishwasher, but washing dishes is such a peaceful solitude of time, that prayer fits in perfectly. Usually few people help, and everyone else scatters away. So, we said, why not use this time to pray for our family. Thinking about how much we love them and how much God loves them. Just try it.

Pondering these thoughts today: What did we reflect upon today? Jim hasn’t been in a classroom in hundreds of years! And of cause, “LOL and he needs more meds, wash dishes with his hands, he has crossed the line now, I’m finding a new blog to read.” LOL Ok, the key focus in someway must be daily prayer. Try to make it a part of your day, every day. When you wake up, say, “Good Morning Lord, Thank You Jesus for another day.” Throughout the day, thank Jesus for the happenings of your day. At night after your night prayers, look up and say, “Good night Lord, Thank you for this day.” Or just write your own script. Have fun with prayer, make it your own. Just stay connected with our Lord every single day.

LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!
