Only Jesus!

My Friends,

Today’s Gospel: Mark 9:2-10 (The Transfiguration of Jesus)
“Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain apart, by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his clothes became dazzling white, such as no one on earth could bleach them. And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Then Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; let us make three dwellings, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." He did not know what to say, for they were terrified. Then a cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud there came a voice, "This is my Son, the Beloved; listen to him!" Suddenly when they looked around, they saw no one with them anymore, but only Jesus. As they were coming down the mountain, he ordered them to tell no one about what they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead. So, they kept the matter to themselves, questioning what this rising from the dead could mean.”

Reflection:
All Things Jesus 24/7/365! I don’t know how many of you have read that many of my writings here on the blog; but I have said that starting statement a lot through these past 35 years. After I gave my life to Jesus in 1983, I can’t possibly imagine seeing any other way to live this life. In addition to that, it’s amazing how your perspective on things in general change, as you get older, and you experience losing someone close, while your spiritual life is flourishing. Through all of this I feel at times I am like Paul (busy, busy, non-stop) and other times I feel like Peter (steady as a rock). Both of these men from the New Testament had different tasks to focus on for Almighty God, but their focus was the same. Only Jesus!

This life in my own opinion, serves one purpose (that matters the most), that we make it to Heaven. Obviously along the way there are many other very important tasks and things we must do; but in the end, if we miss the mark, then what was all this about? To me there is no such thing as “too much Jesus” in this life. In-fact I wish there was more Jesus in my life. One day we won’t be here, and I have no clue on what kind of a perspective we’ll have about our lives then. Somehow, someway, right now, we must stay focused! Only Jesus!

My general perspective on life took a real turn, as I began to physically go through thirty years of all of our stuff. This has been a most incredible journey of memories and decisions, combined with laughter and tears. This journey has me thinking about this question: What is the sum total of our life about? It’s not about the collections or the extra dish set or even all the pictures. No, it is truly about our story, our journey to Jesus and beyond. Stay focused everyone. Only Jesus!

Pondering these thoughts today: Today we are blessed to wake up and see a new day. Let us rejoice and be glad, we have another day to love our Lord and share Him with others. Our time here is unknown but let us keep in mind, that this time is precious and should be guarded and not wasted. Every day we should spend time with Jesus in prayer. Every day we should open the scriptures and read His Word and absorb His love into our lives. The first one on our minds and in our hearts as we awake should be Jesus; then our families of cause. But, our focus and our life should be centered on Jesus! Only Jesus!

LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!
