My Friends,

Today’s Gospel:
Matthew 25:31-46 (The Judgment of The Nations)
“When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will place the sheep at his right hand, but the goats at the left. Then the King will say to those at his right hand, `Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' Then the righteous will answer him, `Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' And the King will answer them, `Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.' Then he will say to those at his left hand, `Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.' Then they also will answer, `Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?' Then he will answer them, `Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.' And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

Reflection:
Others! We need to really get that sunk into our heads. If we can only understand how important it is to put others before ourselves, this world would be a much more peaceful place. If you read about and study a little bit into St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta’s life and ministry; you would learn that she saw the broken bodies of others that needed help and food as the body of Christ. She quoted Jesus saying, “Everything you do to the least of my brothers, you did it to me.'

Mother Teresa and her ministry, The Sister’s of Charity hold a special place in my heart. For many years, many years ago, for about a decade, we (St. Patrick’s Rosary Makers) made mission rosaries for her and her ministry and shipped them to her in Calcutta. Chrissy and my 2 oldest sons (James 3rd & Christopher) were part of this group. It was through my dear long-time friend Jerry Kelly who knew Mother Teresa personally that I was able to make this connection to her. He has since passed away. Jerry Kelly and Carol Bulcroft were the leaders of one of the prayers groups I use to belong to (Our Lady’s Pathways). I have known Jerry since 1983, the beginning of my spiritual journey. Recently while cleaning I found the plaque that was given to me for Rosary Distribution and the newspaper write up that mentions Rosaries going to Mother Teresa. Once I find them again, I will take pictures then add them to this blog. They have been repacked to save.

Find something you can do for others. Anything that would help them, food, clothing, prayer, something you can embrace, and do all you can do, to help others in some capacity. Allow the Holy Spirit to help guide you. Sometimes things may not make sense, that doesn’t mean quit or you failed, NO! this just means you must trust that somewhere in all this, Jesus has a plan for you to fit in.

Jesus 1st – Others 2nd – You 3rd (J.O.Y.)

Pondering these thoughts today: You did it to me! I love those words of Jesus. It is so important that our children instill this same desire to help others. When we do for others in front of our kids, with our kids, in assistance of our kids; they see the reality of others struggling around us and they also see their parent reaching out to help. Back in the beginning. Not all the way back silly, my beginning. I used to own a business with my dad (for 20 years), and I use to take my oldest sons to work with me. They were little, and they went everywhere I went. There was this little, homeless very old lady that use to go to D&L Meats across the street from us, to get a snack or a drink. My dad knew that whenever I seen her, I ran across the street, got her a huge hero made for her, a drink, some snacks and I threw in some cash in a bag and I handed it to her. We never spoke, but you can see she was struggling. But when our eyes connected she’d light up with smiles. After I did that, I walked around the block to go back to the shop the long way. I tried to keep my identity a secret, my buddy Pete who owned D&L knew my plan every single time Mable walked in. I later found her name out through them. My boys would smile at her, she would reach out and they would hold her hand. She was such a blessing in my life back then, I will never forget her. I would even make a special drive over the weekend to see if she was around, stop in the deli get her some food, stop on the road, she’d smile, and I’d hand her a bag. Many of those times the whole family was in the car. Pray to our Lord, ask Jesus to lead your heart to the hearts of others. Be careful, this type of love may make you cry..

LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!
