My Friends,

Today’s Gospel: Mark 9:41-50 (Temptations To Sin)
“For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you bear the name of Christ, will by no means lose his reward. "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung round his neck and he were thrown into the sea. And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out; it is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched. For everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves and be at peace with one another.”

Reflection:
Worldly people have no clue how to understand today’s gospel. Some would look at it and say, “See how violent to themselves these Christians are.” It couldn’t be further from the truth. Our faith is Jesus is critical to our destination after death. If we mess it up while we still have time to fix it; then it’s our own stupidity and selfishness that would derail us and send us to hell for all eternity. Yes, it is that critical for us to remain focused on staying the course, not allowing anything to cause us to sin. And dare not, cause others to sin. Leading and directing another to sin, with full knowledge of the sin they are led to be in -is a horrible sin before Almighty God.

Who in their right mind would ever risk the loss of their reward of eternity in Heaven? God is perfect love, who willingly gives us abundant life beyond anything this world could ever describe or give to us. We must be compelled to be more and more like Jesus; through our goodness and kindness and compassion towards others. Kindness can be contagious, encouraging others to be kind to the next person they meet. Did you ever see that commercial where one person is receiving kindness and then because of it; they give someone else a kind gesture? That should be our goal, to create that domaining effect every day. Check it out:

Pondering these thoughts today: Do you live a spiritual life that allows you to be yourself before others? Are you “salt” upon the earth? Flavoring the earth with your love of Jesus. I know many are scared to death of what others might think, which is absolutely ridiculous. But I get it, I do understand. Jesus’ fragrance should encourage others to want to have, what you have spiritually. Being bold is a good thing, the right thing to do, you don’t have to bully anyone, just be yourself. Love others, more than you love yourself. Do for others always, more than you’d even do for yourself. Actions speak much louder than words can ever speak. Pass on your kindness and love and compassion to everyone.

LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!
