3rd Sun Advent - Share With Others

Hello Everyone,
A most joyous day today is, as we got closer and closer to our Lord's birth. Today we continue our studies from last Sunday's, today is the 3rd Sun of Advent and we are reading Luke 3:10-18. In John's message he told the people three things: First to share their goods by living a sacrificial life, second do not take more from anyone than is due and third, he asked everyone to be content with what they have. Three simple yet very profoundly insightful life changing lessons.
Does the Good News of God's word fill our hearts with joy, and do we experience the life changing power in all we do? John's message is all about repenting, and He taught it in a very practical way. John was sent to awaken the interest all of those around him, unsettle them from their contentment and guide them to turn and see Jesus and recognize Him and receive Him when He came.
Let's look at each of John's requests. For starters we are to "share your goods by living a sacrificial life" In doing this our life isn't all wrapped up in being bonded to the things we own, but instead by sharing the things we have with others, shows our true love and sacrifice and generosity. We must also "not take more from anyone than is due", misrepresentation of someones bill, or taxes, or anything that involves our honesty required to tell others based on our trust, needs to be represented as if Jesus Himself were representing the activity.
And now thirdly which I believe is the foundation to everything we do and say and share. We need to be "content with what we have" once we have "mastered" this our lives will be filled with so much joy that it will be unlike anything we have ever experienced in our lives. The amount of Joy I am talking about will overflow from you, and you will have so much to give, so much to share. Your eyes will never be focused on yourself ever again, you won't be looking to fulfill your own selfish desires; instead because of your contentment your heart and joy will lead you be there for others. I challenge everyone do like John is asking us to be.
Jesus first, followed by others next, then me last !!!
