Hello Everyone,

Another day for us to reflect on one of our Lord's parables. This is always exciting and so insightful when we have the opportunity to do this. Can you imagine being one of the ten who were entrusted with our Lord's treasure; and we were left in charge of it and it's growth upon His return. That is so exciting. God has left us with the responsibility of bringing His treasures (His children) to Him. Do we multiple His gifts? Do we spread His word around and plant seeds of Joy with others? Do we do all we can to help direct our children, our spouse, our extended family, our friends, those we don't know, to Him? Do we share our own personal treasures with others and by doing so; bring Joy and hope and love and charity into their lives? Today we are reflecting on Luke 19:11-28 (The Parable of The Pounds). This is really a very exciting parable. We must be prepared, and we must take what God has given us (His word, His love, His compassion, His forgiveness, our possessions, and so much more) and use these wonderful treasures and multiple them amongst those He has sent to us.

The minute we hoard and bury and not share or multiply what God has given us; that day will truly be a sad day for that person. We must do all we can to make what we have grow, and in that growth we must be spreading His love, and His word to all. We only get one chance (one life) to get this right. Just like in the parable. These servants had a specific amount of time (one chance) with these treasures and then upon the return of the nobleman, judgment was placed upon the stewardship of the servants. These servants were trusted, as God trusts us in what He has given us, and blessed us with. How dare we hoard and hide and bury and keep from others what isn't even our own. Let's share our blessings. We are only blessed by what we have when we give it away, and/or share it with someone else.

WE HAVE BEEN ENTRUSTED

Our Lord has given us many things
Treasures of love and of His word,
He wants to share all of them
So that His word can be heard...

Whatever we have it don't matter
Someones life can be made joyful,
We need to be charitable and not like Scourge
For God made His gifts to be fruitful.

So dig in your pocket and in your closet
Fill someone elses life with God's loving touch,
This will be your chance that one time
You can tell them, God loves them much.

Let's take this treasure we have been given
And not bury in the sand and say goodbye,
Rather give it away so it can grow
Fill someones heart with love, to multiply
.

So here we are wondering what can I do? Think about it, the holidays are coming, and so many families are suffering, so many families, not only need food, and clothes and whatever, but they need Jesus. Here is your chance. I believe we need to lead by example. I only tell you this, to encourage you to do the same or similar acts of kindness. Please consider this: Pick out a family, maybe one directed to you by your parish, or your priest, or a close friend. Make them your special secret family. Obviously at least one other person should know, so they can deliver the Joy. Along with maybe some food, and a couple small gifts, maybe add a bible, (it can a used one, with an added personal note in it) and maybe some prayer cards, a rosary bead for each member. You get the idea. It will be a lot of fun. When you see this family at Mass or in your neighborhood, you will see an extra sparkle in their eyes. They will know Jesus has sent His children out to watch out for them. It's truly an amazing act of love to share, so that that love will multiple with all the people that family come in contact with.. I will pray for every ones intentions, big or small. Size don't matter here, pour out goobers of love and kindness in anything you can do. God knows your heart and so will the family receiving your gifts...

"Jesus, I trust in You."
